We were very disappointed with Hichiya last night. They rushed us through. They started cooking and serving before we could even eat our salad. They were cleaning up as they were serving the dessert. We were out of there in 30 minutes. They did not let us relax and enjoy our meal; instead, they rushed us. Our friend didn't even get to finish her meal as they were waiting for us to leave. We thought that they were really busy and needed the table, but the lobby was empty when we left. That is a good way to lose regular customers. Hichiya was always one of our favorites. The food was good but don't like to he rushed through dinner. It might be a while before we go back if this is the normal now. read more

Food is to die for. Never have been disappointed when eating here. Always great service, the food is always prepared to your preference. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The chef's are always enthusiastic with their performance. Update 5/16/19: I always love this place but it has gotten to be a hassle even going there. I always make a reservation because I know it'll be crowded since it's either a Friday or Saturday night we go. You can almost guarantee you'll be seat 30-45 minutes after your reservation time, and can bet on being at your table for the same amount of time. The wait time is extremely long and it's almost as if they rush you out the door to the point where you can barely enjoy the show and eating your dinner. It's very unfortunate, but I now avoid going here and it used to be my favorite restaurant in Myrtle/ Murrells Inlet. read more

Can be slow at times and may wait a bit longer than expected. Taste: excellent. Miyabi's is by far the best Japanese steakhouse I've ever been to. The food is so good and comes in HUGE portions. Prepare to eat leftovers for the next two meals. The chefs are real with you. They entertain without having that forced "I have to do a steaming onion ring choo choo train now" sort of platitudinous. We were cackling with our server as he made all kind of jokes while skillfully preparing our meal. Frankly, every chef and server here has this positive energy. Perhaps the only downfall I can really think of here is when you leave your clothes WILL reek of fried rice for DAYS. Understandably, there can be a wait sometimes but there is a bar and a waiting area full of tables. Birthdays are great here and only an extra 5$ I believe. It gets all of the chefs beating on beat to an interesting rendition of happy birthday. Table seating style is communal unless you have a party of 6 plus. When you visit Aquino's you should come prepared to eat and have a good time. The service is top of the line and the food is excellent. It's a must eat if your into delicious Japanese food in the Myrtle Beach Area. Make sure to have a reservation if you plan on dining in, it is almost always booked out for good reason. They have an awesome sushi/sashimi deal at the sushi bar for dinner. It is a nice platter that inlcuded miso soup & salad with ginger dressing and a portion of standard sushi rolls (I don't remember which ones) as well as sashimi (tuna, whitefish, and salmon) for only $14.95 - what a deal! The sushi very good quality and less expensive than what I would pay for comparable sushi back home. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Review when you plan a party there and they call you what a week ahead of time and tell you that they've decided to close the restaurant on the day that you have a party over twenty five people. This is a party that was planned 5 weeks in advance. And all they could say is I'm sorry. Well, I'm sorry too. Because I have told everyone never to go there. This is just the wrong way to do business. I took my party to another restaurant in broadway on the beach which was fabulous . I estimate that this present management. Open bar all you can eat open menu in one night. They would have made enough money just off of the party. But they decided they wanted monday night's Close 46 weeks. What a great hibachi restaurant! My family and I have been coming to this spot since I was a kid. We've never had a bad experience here. Without any question, we chose this place for our entire family/friends to eat on Friday after thanksgiving. Yep, we had a reservation for 65+ people and the management was more than willing to help us execute this event. Customer Service - Awesome chefs with hilarious personalities and they put on a great show. The waiters are extremely attentive and kind. You would imagine things could get difficult for over 65 people--children included--but Maria (manager) and the kind staff were so helpful and happy to work with our large group. Food - growing up, I always stuck to the basics of chicken and rice. This time I ventured out and ordered Steak, shrimp and scallops. The portions are HUGE, which are great bc a little local secret: this food is even better the day after!! My favorite hibachi spot. No debates. This is a must try! read more

Positives: our chef Darney was awesome. Food was tasty. Negatives: RUSH RUSH RUSH!!! We were seated at 8:30, out by 9:30, during which I ordered sushi before our chef got there, everyone else got their sushi except me. I inquired about it after 15/20 minutes and the waiter said he'd check on it for me, 20 minutes later he came back and apologized said it's be a few more minutes and tried to convince me not to get it...asking me if I was sure I'd still want the rolls. Yes, yes waiter I still want the sushi I ordered. I took off one roll, 20 more minutes later he came back and asked me if I would like a to go box for the sushi that still hasn't come out yet. I scoffed, and said "look, I understand that you guys are trying to get people in and out of here as quickly as possible but this is ridiculous!" He said he'd discount it half off (oooh! $5.45 off my bill! Yay!!!) which was something, but c'mon. Over all the food was good, had an entertaining hibachi chef, but expect to be in and out of there in about an hour and rushed out the door with no sushi. read more

We have been coming here for 20+ years and never once have had a complaint. Food has always been the best around and service great as well. Tonight we had a totally different experience and if I ever end up with the server that we had I will turn around and walk away. His name was Rico (I think this is how you spell his name) and he was so extremely rude from the moment we were seated I have never encountered such negativity. If you have a server named Rico please do yourself a favor and ask for a new server! You are paying a decent amount of money to eat here, you should have a good experience with the server as well, in my opinion! read more

This is a very family friendly, entertaining experience but we went early on a Saturday night right at opening (4pm) and it was already very crowded so for any group over two reservations are a good idea. My wife and I both ordered from the "early bird" menu and were a bit disappointed in the amount of meat and vegetables we were served with the meal mostly made up of rice. I think I had over 2 pounds of it! On the plus side the order was cooked perfectly and a nice touch was a little Jack Daniels in the veggies and rice it added a pleasant "sweetness" to the rice. Over all it was a nice time, but we think a little over priced for the what you get. It's a great place to go with a group of friends or family. read more

I went there for my birthday last Saturday. I'm going there for 10 years. Since the new owners took over it's totally gone downhill. Took over a half hour to get our first drinks. The salad came out waterlogged. Our second round of drinks took 20 minutes I had to ask the chef to find someone to get us drinks. The assistant manager Took our drink order and when he came back he was missing one drink. The chef started cooking there were 4 in my party. The chef did not ask what we ordered he just started cooking. Next thing I know he's cleaning the grill. Two of the people were only serve the rice. They never received the chicken teriyaki dinners. I told the cook he had to leave The station and go get the food. I asked to see the manager and told him the situation. The only thing he kept on telling me was he's not done cooking. I don't know if he didn't understand English our was just not intelligent enough to realize if I didn't tell the chef they did not receive their food he wouldn't be cooking anything. Oh I forgot the cook had to leave the station in the middle of cooking to go get the drink assistant manager forgot. I was so upset I didn't mean even have them sing happy birthday or do a little dance I did not receive one apology for the terrible service. Needless to say after 10 years this was my last Birthday party there unless new owners take over. read more

We've been coming here for many summer vacations to celebrate August birthdays! We will NOT COME now DUE TO NEW MANAGEMENT. Very poor customer service and poorly managed reservation system. We made reservations for 20 for 7:30. We told them we were willing to spilt our party if necessary. Arrived at 6:30 in hopes for an early seating. We waited patiently and spent over $100 at the bar and sushi lounge. At 7:20, we checked on our table and the manager promised we would be seated "around 7:30". At 7:45 and after watching many parties of 8 or more get seated, we were still waiting to be seated. The manager said if we were willing to be "split" we could have been seated. We reminded him that we told him that we could! He still said we have to wait " on the next table" . He was very rude about it and not apologetic at all. We literally had to hover to finally get seated at 7:50. I've never been treated this way by a manager and we will not be back! * It's also so hot in the restaurant- beyond bearable! You expect a restaurant to be cold - but it's so hot you can barely enjoy the food. I will say that our chef and waitress was very nice and did a great job! Food is always phenomenal. We don't live in South Carolina but do have a house here. We visit this place frequently. The last 2 times we have been there we have been turned down for coming in as a walk in. It is 15 minutes until 6 o'clock and we're turned down for service in the off season. We have BOTH times been ok with sitting at the sushi bar and not have our food cooked in front of us, however they do not offer scallops or lobster at the sushi bar. Every time we visit this place we spend at least $200-$250 between my boyfriend and I. The food is awesome, but good paying customers should not be turned down or told what items they can eat off the menu. read more

One of the better Hibachi experiences I've had, even not feeling well prior to the meal. The portions were huge. At other hibachi restaurants, I tend to order double rice, but the regular serving was more than enough. Having bottles of Asahi is always a plus as well. The interior was a lot more elaborate than others we've been to. They cost a little more, but we could see why. Overall great experience. Steak was a little fatty but thats probably the only thing I have to put in that wasn't on point. read more

My family and I visited Miyabi Kyoto for the first time last night. Based on our experience it will be the first of many. We had 6:30PM reservations and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant was quite busy, especially for a Thursday night, so we were prepared to wait. The food was excellent as we expected it to be based on prior reviews. What made Miyabi Kyoto standout were the people. Our server, Savannah, was exceptional. Definitely not your typical Hibachi restaurant server. She was very attentive, especially to my wife who has severe allergies and my 9 year old twin grandchildren. Our Chef, Jeff, was equally attentive. He listened to my wife's allergies and realized that her meal needed to be made separately. He did a wonderful job and my wife totally enjoyed her meal. Everyone else's food was cooked just right as well. Honestly I was surprised at the quantity of the food we received. I had the steak, shrimp, & chicken trio and barely finished it. It was also my daughters Birthday. We had the mini celebration, I think it was $6.00, with a cupcake. picture, and singing. These are usually pretty ho-hum, but the servers put their heart into it and made it something special. It really capped off a wonderful evening.
