A man arrived with a young child and stood behind me, eventually conversing with a cashier named "Alex." In the absence of any assistance, the cashier instructed him to find a table on his own. Consequently, I took it upon myself to find a table in the corner and waited for my family to join me. Shortly thereafter, a group of three Chinese individuals approached me, claiming that I had taken their table. While this situation left me feeling perplexed, I opted not to escalate the matter and moved to the adjacent table instead. It would greatly benefit the restaurant to assign tables to avoid such awkward encounters during an otherwise enjoyable lunch break. One recurring issue at this establishment is the persistent shortage of servers. On the rare occasions when they do have adequate staff, they sometimes offer complimentary soup to customers. However, when I inquired about receiving free soup for our party of four, we were informed that it was not available. Moreover, I have noticed instances where certain servers selectively offer soup to their preferred customers, leaving others, including myself, feeling excluded. This approach suggests that the restaurant may not prioritize expanding their market share in the competitive dining industry. In terms of the food, the overall quality is average. The curry sauce stands out as delicious, but there are inconsistencies in portion sizes. Sometimes the portions are sufficient, but other times the meat portion in the curry dish is disappointingly small. Additionally, on one occasion, when ordering yang chow fried rice, a staple ingredient like Char Siu was substituted with ham, which was a letdown. Considering that we have ordered this dish numerous times in the past, it was disheartening to feel deceived as loyal customers. Bomb the room with this delicious smell with a taste of udon after. Incredibly delicious but is full of onions rather than udon. This rating is only for their breakfast. My family and I love coming here for breakfast. Make sure you get here before 11:00 cause that's the start of their lunch menu. The menu is simple and so is the food.Their breakfast is super cheap and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Food: porridge with thousand year old egg combination with soy sauce chow mein or fried rice noodle. 2 eggs, sausage and toast combo with oatmeal or macaroni soup. Pork shoulder with roti canai and scramble eggs. Drinks: good old ice tea milk coffee and black coffee. Parking: sucks only if you get there when breakfast is about to end so come early! Service: the receptionist is super nice and so are the servers but they are super busy so they sometimes overlook you. I swear this spot is owned by the same owner as Sunday Cafe on Valley blvd in Alhambra; they both got the same exact menu!!! Garden Cafe got all the food you would expect from an Asian cafe no more no less. They've got a great lunch menu with big portions and great prices, so try to come for lunch if you can. DINNER here can be packed and the price goes up by about $2.50(bigger portions) for each dish, so if you are a budget baller then dinner might be for you! My favorite dishes here are: Chicken & Pork Chop Steak, Ox Tongue Curry, Seafood or beef Chowmein. It's really meh. Apart from cheap food, the quality is far from ok. I ordered the Singapore-styled vermicelli and my noodles were hard like elastic bands. Also tried the Hong Kong styled beef noodles and that tasted way better than the Singapore-styled vermicelli. Passable but not delicious. They burned the noodles. How is it even possible?! I guess the chef needs to go to culinary school. Their boba is overcooked and their tea is done poorly. Yes I know it's refillable but if the tea tastes bad why would I want to refill it? Up, up and away.... The price of a meal is going through the roof. I used to can get a breakfast at this place for about $12 tax and tip included. Now it is $17, and soon will go up even more. The prices have not only gone up, but the foods are getting cut back. There used to be two shrimps in my tomato soup. Now there are none, and the bowl is smaller. On a positive note the tomato broth is my favorite and it is still very good. However I cannot recommend dining at this place anymore because of the cost. Stay home and cook for yourself. I;ve been coming to this place for a very long time. but the food quality had really gone down over the past few years. i remember i really enjoy the food here before. now i feel like they dont care as much. Some of their food is good. Some isnt that good. I think they have too many different dishes on their menu so it leaves room for inconsistency. Also I ordered a steak. I wanted it rare. There's several great Cantonese cafe around here and this one is definitely one of them. I used to come here when I worked around the area and I still make the trek here to enjoy their Cantonese food. My favorite dishes are the steak and eggs, the baked crab and chicken pasta, and their Hainan chicken with rice. The steak and eggs are delicious because that pairing is just perfect. I usually go to Garden Cafe on weekends or late nights, and my usual dish is curry beef and it is always good. From time to time I would get their prime ribs; apparently you can't compare it with Lawry's but you do get something good for the price. Service is always good, sometimes they miss giving us things but understandable because their servers are always busy. I always like their beef chow fun and porridge. Their breakfast specials used to be a really awesome deal, but the portions got smaller. Overall still a pretty good value. Ok, Garden Cafe is like my home dining place. I always go there to have lunch or dinner even the breakfast. The reason i like this one in arcadia cause I like their service. I have come here for several times, not because I like it but just it's close by. Their service s terrible, takes long time to get the drinks. When asked Why take so long to wait, the waiter just walked away and ignored the question. It took 20 minutes just to get the coffee! I wish there are more cafés near by the area. read more

Food is always good and consistent. Prices are very reasonable. Open at all hours of the day (well not really but open early and closes late). Complimentary soup with every order. I think they have the best milk tea in Arcadia so far. The food was okay and I actually got a 5% off coupon from the local clipper magazine. However, I used to go to the chinese restuarant w/ big portion but not with this restaurant. Price were reasonable....I will keep going there for the milk tea. read more
