Okay Ariston's is officially one of my new favorite café finds. The space is HUGE with the dreamiest floral installation, everywhere you look--it honestly feels like stepping into a garden. Every corner is photo-worthy. The Blueberry Coconut Cloud Matcha is a must-order. It was creamy, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The spinach pastry was perfectly flaky and so flavorful, and the vanilla latte was smooth, rich, and seriously so good. If you're looking for a cute coffee date spot, somewhere to catch up with friends, get some work done, or just take the prettiest photos, this is it. I was looking for a cute little cafe to meet up with a friend around Union Square and found this adorable place! Upon walking in, the front portion of the venue is in fact a flower shop (and a fancy one at that, I saw bouquets going for $80+) and I was greeted with a free rose before I continued back towards the cafe. The cafe in the back is beautifully adorned with (fake) pink flowers hung from the tall atrium ceiling and doted with plenty of tables & chairs with some more comfortable seats along the back wall. There is also a second floor with tables and chairs and when you're up there the pink flowers hung from the atrium are right next to you, giving a sense of privacy. The cafe is incredibly instagram-able and has a cozy, but bright atmosphere. You have to order from the coffee bar and pick up at the other end, there is no table service so if you're with a friend and lay claim to a table you'll have to take turns getting your refreshments. The cashier was pleasant and the baristas were quick to make drinks. I had the homemade ginger lemonade which was so good I debated grabbing a second for the trip home! My friend had the rose latte and a muffin, both of which were delicious! This is the perfect retreat for a quick pick me up or chit chat with a friend! One thing I will note is that the air conditioning did not seem very strong in the cafe area and it was very warm on the upper level, we almost left until we saw a first floor table open up which was a bit cooler. read more

Was walking around the neighborhood after lunch and walked in here for some afternoon coffee. The staff behind the counter took our order for a few drinks which came out within a few minutes. Too bad it was too wet out front to provide seating, but inside you have 2 floors of seating--that's almost full on a weekday morning! This is the CUTEST coffee shop in the city!! Came here on a whim to meet up with a friend, and it was decorated to the MAX with holiday decor! It's also massive inside with plenty of seating, which is perfect since it's so cold out! This spot had been on my list to visit in NYC, and I am glad I finally made it in. The front is a full flower shop and the cafe seating is in the back, which makes the place feel really charming. The flowers and decor are beautiful and definitely a nice atmosphere to sit for a bit. I ordered the rose petal latte. It was pretty and enjoyable, though the rose flavor was subtle. Most of the coffee spots are a bit smaller with more of a grab and go concept so it was nice to be able to shelter from the snow. We got: - rose petal latte: this was super pretty and good. But I'm gonna be honest, I couldn't taste any of the rose flavor. Which I was okay with that sometimes drinks taste too much like a flower and I didn't want that - chocolate croissant: my friend said there wasn't that much chocolate in this - vanilla latte: my friend liked her drink! Stopped by the café for a quick chai latte before I had to go to a meeting. I was absolutely in love, it is the cutest space. Such a vibe for the girlies! The front is a florist/plant store and in the back there is two floors of a café. I went around 12 and it was super packed so if you're looking for a table (they have a lot of) I would just make sure to get there without needing the table right away just in case you have to wait. The line did move a little slow so I wouldn't come here if you're in a rush, but the chai latte was very good. Spent 2 weeks in NYC and revisited this place 5 times. I think we loved it. What's not to love? The ambience hands down is romantic and exudes spring. Walking through the florist to get to the cafe gives you the opportunity to appreciate nature brought indoors. The staff seems unengaged but that easily turns around with a few questions about their food and they light up. Love their Chai Tea Lattes. Had them both cold and hot. Flat Whites are hubbies favorite. Daughter loves their iced lattes. Pastries are a hit. If you're there on a weekend try the Orange Cake. In Greek it's called Portokalopita and it's delicious. It's a much share as it's pretty sweet. Want to share something else? Go for the avocado toast or the Greek salad avocado toast. You'd each get your own slice of yumminess. Head towards the back of the flower shop and you'll reach a beautiful winter wonderland (depending on what season it is) where you can relax with a latte, expresso, cappucino, etc., and escape the hectic, crazy city for a while. I had the rose petal latte and my husband had the lavender latte. Both were very high quality lattes, you can tell the difference. My latte actually had little rose petals in it! Besides the quality coffee drinks, the other main draw of this place is the beautiful interior. Each season brings a different decor that brings pleasure to the senses. I'd originally given this cafe 3.5 stars the last time I was here 7 months ago because the hot matcha latte was icky and had no matcha flavor at all. It was just green and bland. Would like to update my review to 4 stars now. Place is still bustling as before with tourists and people who want to work on their laptops and focus on work. Old friends catching up and drinking coffee together. Cafe is still very pretty and floral like with the fake greens and flowers as the ambiance wise. Up in the front of the cafe lays a florist shop with all kinds of good-smelling and colorful flowers and potted plants. There're not as many outlets downstairs compared to upstairs unless you're sitting next to the wall. I believe there's a restroom both downstairs and upstairs. On a side note, the restroom looks very pretty with the fake sakura tree branching out throughout the ceiling as the decoration. The floor has some crumbs and shredded paper in the corner but decently clean for the most part. Definitely not spotless imo. There're some seasonal stems of flowers in see-through glass vases on each table. Mine looks pretty dead, feeling sad for the droopy flowers. Staff is friendly and fast service. Ordered two huge chocolate chip cookies and a homemade ginger lemonade without ice. Drinks don't have to be forcefully added with ice, the thing I despise the most about iced beverages in general. Paying $6-7 for an expensive cup of ice with two sips maximum. Glad that's not the case at this cafe. I usually don't like soft cookies but these taste delicious and not overly sweet. Chocolate chips are huge, you can really see them clearly on the cookies. I like that they don't skim on the chocolate chips. Feeling full though after munching on one already. Had to take the other one to go for tomorrow. You can ask the staff for a cup of water but be careful not to spill all the liquid out because they use the flimsiest plastic cup ever. Plastic utensils, napkins, cup covers/lids and different types of sugar are stored on a shelf right next to the front counter where the cashier is. Love how I can actually taste the spiciness of the ginger without being too overpowering in flavor. Lemonade isn't overly sweet either. Can see myself coming back to this cafe when I'm in the area. Beautiful coffee and flower shop with quite a bit of space. There's a few spots at the bar where you can watch the workers make the orders while you get some work done. Several small tables decorate the space and you'll find lots of people catching up or on dates. There's an upstairs portion which i did not get to see. I believe there's a bathroom as well; wifi is present and there are outlets avaialble. I got the freddo coffee which was just okay, though it was my first freddo. I think a spin on it with some sweetness or flavor to the cream could do it some good. The cream is quite thick and doesn't taste too great on its own. The espresso is fine. Overall great spot for a date or catchup with a friend or if you're just trying to get some work done. Will be returning. read more
