Asador is the Renaissance Hotel's restaurant, accessible through the main lobby. It's business casual dining and very convenient for those who stay at the hotel for leisure or for work. I visited Asador during a 2-day conference that I attended. Normally I'd avoid hotel restaurants (because they often prioritize convenience over food quality) but this one didn't disappoint too much. The service was slow when we went as there were very few waitors available that evening. The portions were very generous and the menu has several options that can accommodate picky eaters or people following a specific diet. I prioritized vegetarian dishes and was impressed by their roasted vegetable dishes. The harvest pasta was good, but it lacked identity. By that I mean that whoever devised this dish tried to add as many trendy and healthy ingredients to the mix as possible, without analyzing the final result too much. The question "what the heck am I even eating" crossed my mind as I chewed on this "original" recipe, wondering why I had been served what felt like a prototype... Another issue with the food is that while sampling several sides and appetizers, I noticed that most of them had a similar spice and taste profile. They all seemingly used the same ingredients. It's like if you ordered three sides and they all had the same sauce. The sauce might be good, but it gets a bit dull to be eating the same thing three times, doesn't it? So, whoever is in charge of the menu, the chef, needs to go back to the drawing board and reevaluate their dishes a bit, by trying to be more original. They would benefit from creating unique dishes that have identity, and notes that stand out. Right now nothing stands out. It's not bad, but it felt like it wasn't quite out of the brainstorming or testing stage. You know what I mean? Other than that, we had a good time. This is not a place that I would visit again unless I had to stay at the Renaissance Hotel for work again. I would still not tell someone to avoid it. It's there, it's convenient. It just needs a little bit of work to take it from OK to being memorable.

Location Lobby of Renaissance hotel. Atmosphere Classy-you can't tell you are in a hotel. We came for the rooftop bar but it's seasonal and you need a key. Seating Bar, hi tops, low tops good for groups, small tables-intimate seating. Service Chris and Rosa are AMZING! Menu No happy hour. Great list of wines, appetizers-salads, burgers, guac and chips. We had the spring mix salad with grilled chicken. Excellent! Variety of tomatoes, cucumbers, spring mix. Summary Awesome service, great menu-excellent location.

Do you ding a place for being expensive....? It's expensive. After 3 nights eating meals. I just have to go wit. My gut. The service is fast and professional. I'd prefer more interaction. But they work hard. The food is gourmet American. I had fish tacos Salmon dinner Asparagus side Brussel sprout side. All first class All good tasting All hot All seasoned to allow the flavors to shine ( not over spiced ) perfect Cold beer. Albeit small selection. ( could improve there ) Nice ambiance. Good vibe. Also. Good b fast buffet. Good bar espresso in the am Should I complain about the price. I dunno. Current inflation.... I'd take a date here.

This restaurant is on the inside of hotel renaissance, little upscale like any restaurant at hotel , but service was great , place is very well looking and comfortable, prices are a little high end , and food was good but I think they could do better on the charcuterie , pork belly was great

Atmosphere was well above average for a hotel restaurant. The service was excellent with a very attentive waiter. Glasses never got to half full before refills were there. Had a wonderful brisket queso and chips. Could have eaten that by itself and would have been very happy. Had an excellent salad with strawberries. Very large, tasty and full of all kinds of wonderful things. Will go back again when in the neighborhood.

I came here for a girls night and we were so impressed with this place!! I was hesitant because everyone knows hotel restaurants are hardly ever pursued, but boy was I wrong about Asador! Literally everything we had was full of flavor and delicious! I hate I can't remember our servers name but he was exceptional. A few things you must try: * Pineapple & Bacon Guacamole * Caprese Salad * Chorizo Shrimp & Grits (10/10 Recommend) * Peach Cobbler I really enjoyed this place. I will for sure come back now that I know everything's so good and since it's in a hotel it's a hidden gem! No long waits, and good service. Do yourself a favor and go check them out!

First time here. Came on a Saturday afternoon around 12 PM for brunch for a double date. Parking is in the gated hotel parking which has a fee, but the front desk can validate the parking if you eat at the restaurant. It was empty when we arrived & we were seated immediately. Mimosa - Average taste. Good price. Smoked Salmon Bagel - HUGE salmon pieces. Bagel was nicely toasted - not too toasted, not too underdone; lovely flavor. Cream cheese was very addicting - mixed with herbs. Served with a side of sliced potatoes, pickled red onions, red cabbage, & tomatoes - all separated on the plate in piles, so you can add whatever you want or don't want. The portion was so big, I only ate half for brunch & had the rest for early dinner. I'd highly recommend this one. 44 Farms Brisket Burger - It was empty when we arrived, so we asked if they could make a burger which is normally on the lunch menu for brunch. Thankfully, the chef was nice enough to do so. Flavor was good. Pickles were excellent (even for someone who isn't a big fan of pickles...my husband still ate them all). They taste homemade, on the thinner firmer side with a mildly sweet flavor & lighter than typical tartness. Overall, service & food were excellent. On the pricier side - came to about $60 for two entrees & one drink, but it was still good. I'd recommend & I'd come back!

Great bar crew lead by my friend Chelsey. Super personable and attentive - this is a really high/energy hotel bar crew. A few specialty drinks and a full restaurant menu - definitely worth a visit!

Went here on Valentine's day and was a bit worried as it was located within a hotel, but decided to take the chance as many other places were booked and this place looked worth giving a chance. I worried for naught, I enjoyed everything! The ambience, service, and food were all great. The server was very patient and was happy to talk about the questions we had about the menu. We ordered a lot of his recommendations (unfortunately I can't remember his name), and I'm glad we did because everything was great. The brussel sprouts were crisped and seasoned just right, pork belly and steak were cooked to the perfect level of chewiness, and the desserts were sweet and interesting, in a good way. We will be coming back again soon.

    Custom drink for our honeymoon!

The appetizers were delicious. We LOVED the brisket queso! Great service and environment!

So. So. So. Disappointed in our experience tonight. I don't even know where to start. We were solely here because of Restaurant week and didn't realize it was a hotel restaurant when we originally booked our reservation. Once we found out I was a little hesitant but we went ahead anyways. We waited for five+ minutes at the host stand to be acknowledged and seated. Not because they were overwhelmingly busy, just seemed like everyone was operating on their own schedule and no one was truly a host. Then after being seated we waited for almost another twenty minutes to be acknowledged. Eventually Chris the bartender had to step in and cover for the server and get us started. I was actually in the process of grabbing my purse and getting up to leave when Chris walked up and apologized for the wait. He was so nice that we stayed- should have listened to our instincts on this one. The restaurant week menu was .. well, weak. I was thoroughly disappointed in the first course that was offered. So much so that we switched off that special menu into their full menu. I had to flag down the host to get the original menu and you would have thought my request was a chore. For our appetizer we had the charcuterie board. This was pretty okay- give it a 7/10. I would eat it again but I can't say it's memorable. Chris came in clutch offering to make us whatever drinks we wanted so we had some pretty good drinks to pair with our cheese. Our mains, my husband ordered the TX mushroom linguine and I ordered the ribeye, sides of Mac and cheese and fries. The "linguine" was actually pappardelle due to supply shortage, and came with mushrooms, chicken, a red sauce, and a white cheese of which we were 89% sure was mozzarella. Never in our lives have we had such a dry mozzarella. The chicken and the cheese together was so texturally unsatisfying that my husband barely finished half of his food. This was a $35 plate of pasta, and I found myself wishing we had just gone to the Olive Garden instead... My ribeye was awkwardly plated. On top of fingerling potatoes and a red sauce, so when you attempt to cut into it you're just kinda sliding around the plate. To actually cut into it I had to request a steak knife- again my request met with apathy. I ordered a medium rare and at best this was medium well. Unfortunately one of the most average steaks I've had in a very long time. The steak was so bad I didn't even want to take it home to give to my dogs. The Mac and cheese was extraordinarily bland. I wanted to coat it in salt and pepper but they don't have that on their table and our server never once came back to check on us for me to request it. Pretty sure it was supposed to go in the oven as the breadcrumbs on top were uncooked and soft. The French fries were really good. So if you're here for a burger and fries- I would bet you might leave happy. The service we received here was extremely disappointing. As a former server and bartender, I'm normally extremely patient. But this was a new level of poor service. For a $200 bill, I absolutely expected better. The only person who stood out here was Chris and I hope they keep him on to help train their future staff. This was such a negative experience I highly doubt we will ever come back. We didn't even get a water refill the entire two hours we were there. We requested a third round of bar drinks from the server upon the delivery of our food, which never seemed to make it into the POS system. So needless to say our mouths were pretty dry by the time we left.

Came two nights in a row-- the customer service was AMAZING. Specifically--Chelsea, Matt, and Jeremy. WOW. Both nights they treated us like friends, and went above & beyond for all things. We had the Ribeye, fried brussel sprouts, the pork belly and the cheese cake crème brûlée cheesecake! So yum. Recommend them all. Especially the cheesecake But the real showstopper was the staff. They KILLED!

Excellent ambiance and good food! Service is hit or miss, our first service staf was bad, but the next person that took over from him was really good!

The staff is so friendly and seems like a family. The prices are 10% under comp eateries. It's as if the owners took the best part of all fine dining and combined them. Here it is a relaxed but respectful environment with food that you would think comes from a Michelin rated spot. The clientele is eclectic and younger. I'm 47 so I am not like those around me but can see the client base. I'm not sure if it's the minimal menu (please take this as an anti Cheesecake Factory comment) or the items compliments that are setting it apart. What I mean is the steak by itself is amazing. Truly a top 10 steak (ribeye at $48) or the accompanying sauce that it setting it apart. I advise take two to three bites from different stations of the meat. Then take the same bites with their paired glaze. Make your own decisions. You aren't telling the full story if you didn't pair it with a great house Bonanza cab (actually on happy hour except for Fridays). The verdict. This place will be one I will always take clients to when visiting Dallas. The verdict on me is that I'm a steak based reviewer so I might be wrong on all other aspects but the only likely wild card here would be the salads and seafood. I'm not here at a steakhouse for anything else. My wife can write that review. Last PS is that Dave the bartender is nice and accommodating and will let you explore the space . He is matter of fact but possibly could be a friend if not already to all. Watching Dave now live with his regulars says that he balances all customers very well. Negatives. Parking is just slightly odd. There is plenty of it and valet is free to customers. Let's not worry. No rush to get here at 5. The regulars and common come in around 6 as all others do on a Friday (this was my second night after being here for Thursday) Food has arrived. App is the carpaccio and holy shit wow. Not some boring small plate that exudes poor people suck. It's above average size like it should be . I'm not sure why the garlic bread is hear other than a nod to old school. My steak is in a to go box (nicely wrapped with utensils and yes that matters when you travel). This is my steak and if it sucks I'll remove the review. I'm kidding as it's a to go. This is a real world review. I do one long review every few years.

The food is consistently excellent. We went for dinner on a Saturday night (reservations are highly recommended). The wife had the chicken as a main entree. It was outstanding. The chicken was smoky, tender, and moist. It has a bevy of vegetables that are cooked perfectly. It comes with a side and she got the baked potato with everything. She loved everything about this entree. For me, it was an easy decision. I LOVE their wedge salad and started with that. The price has gone up a bit but it remains outstanding. For some reason, the waiter gave me a small but it was fine. The small in 2026 is $7.99 and the regular size is now $11.99. For my entree, I ordered from the appetizer menu and got the crab cake. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the crab cake. It has to be the best in Dallas. It is one half pound of pure crab meat, no filler. The price has gone up to $26.99 so it is not cheap, but it is outstanding quality. The cake was perfectly cooked and the crab was sweet. It comes with three dips but to me, I want to taste the crab so I did not use them. The kid had the old fashioned fries and devoured them. Our server, Mark, was attentive and efficient. Service was excellent as usual. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants in Dallas and IMO the best in the line of Kenny's restaurants. I can't strongly recommend JOEY and I'm really not sure what's happening here. The reviews are high…read morebut the execution didn't live up to the hype. I ended up only ordering a drink and an appetizer because I was so disappointed I didn't want to go further. $23.75 Joey Martini - just a simple dry vodka martini w Kettle One. But the description lured me in with the promise of a fantastic martini with an "extra martini on the side". What I received was a half of a martini with the rest of my martini in a shaker next to it. The martini was fine but nothing special. Not the first time I've overplayed for a drink but I do feel a little funny about the way their menu sold me then undelivered. $19 Hummus - The food was an issue for me though. When I order Hummus, I expect to receive hummus. Like the dish should be 70-80% hummus with some light toppings and some good pita bread. What I received was a pretty plate but very little actual hummus and a disaster of pita. First, they made a pretty plate circle of a small band of hummus then filled it with extra stuff to make it APPPEAR as if the center was filled with hummus yet there was zero hummus except for that small outer band. I estimate 49% hummus and the rest tzatziki and garnishment. Don't get me wrong, very aesthetically pleasing and tasty "extras" but the menu item isn't titled "EXTRAS with a little hummus". It's titled "Hunmus". And the pita... oh boy, what a mess. Proper pita is lightly grilled - served warm with a nice sponginess yet bite friendly approach. This pita was way over saturated in their butter/oil, and crisped up to the point there were burn marks and char on every piece. Horrible pairing with hummus and JOEY should know it. I feel these other reviews may be fake honestly as the prices are insane and the execution quite poor. Be careful. $45 for a $15 meal isn't worth it. Go somewhere else - I'm including a pic of the "hummus" reveal so you see what I'm talking about
