Not old not bad, just bread. - half dozen oysters, quite small for$24. - Dynamite shrimp, tasty, maybe a little overcooked. No dynamite at all but good - Broccolini, needed salt. Well cooked but bland - Augratin potatoes were what you expect, but nothing more than that. - Lobster mac n cheese was pretty good - Ribeye steak, it was just a touch thicker than a smash burger. I hate thin steaks at a steakhouse. I ordered medium rare, they tried but you're not getting a crust on a steak that thin and keep it medium rare. - pork chops ... they're seasoned with something sweet, but weirdly sweet, distractingly sweet, but not sweet at the same time. It was not enjoyable. I can't even understand needing to send something back as, let's face it, basic as a pork chop because it tastes weird. We didn't have dessert because, nah Now on to some nitpicks things, that we could've overlooked if the food was better - they brought out an almost empty bottle of tobacco for the oysters. I'm accustomed to the little mini bottles. That bottle felt local diner not steakhouse. - the server went to box up the food we didn't finish, and didn't take it all at one time. Ok, whatever. But he came back with what he originally took boxed and bagged and then took the remaining item. - it took so long to get a second cocktail that I thought they simply forgot about it. I actually think that they did. This last one is just a thing of mine. I feel like the higher the menu prices the less of the servers thumb should touch the inside of my dish. The introduction was a bit off-putting. The hostess initially told me they didn't serve the dish and that it was only available at the Grill, not the restaurant. I pulled it up online to show her, but she still seemed unsure. When I went to the bar, both bartenders said the same thing--until someone finally pulled out the menu and there it was, listed right at the top. Not the best first impression. Once sorted, I ordered the Shucked, Fried & Stirred special, which is available at the bar only. For $39, you get a half dozen oysters, fries, a petite salad, and a martini--solid value. The food, paired with a fantastic entertainer singing and playing piano throughout the evening, completely made up for the earlier confusion. It takes fine dining and does a great job of providing excellent service. Our server was great and felt like she really catered to what we wanted and provided a great experience. I visited the restaurant yesterday for my friend's birthday and it was just ok. The waiter was great and agreed that we were seated at the most darkest table in the restaurant we could barely see our food. Me and my boyfriend ordered the crab cakes to share and it wasn't really shareable it was one crab cake that was crumbled, we also ordered the bang shrimp which tasted frozen and the roasted chicken which was horribly salty. If you're on a diet don't think you're going here to eat a salad because the bread alone will get you. And now to the food... Lump Crab cake: 6/10 I've had better and although the sauce was a little basic, it paired well with the crab cake. The crab cake itself was light and had good flavor. Wish there was more than one for the price but I'd consider ordering it again. Mashed potatoes: 5/10 too buttery - I know - how? There's no such thing, but these were just sitting in butter and I didn't like the green onions cooked with them. This made them mushy and personally I would have preferred them on top to add a little "crunch" to the potatoes. Broccolini: 5/10 a little too greasy for me and not much flavor. Filet mignon: 8.5/10 tender and cooked well. Ordered the 8 oz and it was perfect for me. All the sauces: 5/10 Honestly I only liked 2 of the 4 sauces and they were the chimichurri and horseradish ones. They both paired well with the steak and enjoyed the flavors. UPDATE ON FIRST REVIEW: My first experience at Del Frisco's was unfortunately not a great one, and I left feeling really disappointed. However, what truly changed everything was how the situation was handled afterward. The manager, Mat, personally reached out to apologize, which honestly meant more than I expected. Not many places take the time to follow up after a complaint or a bad experience, so that alone spoke volumes. He invited me back to give the restaurant another chance so we could experience Del Frisco's the way it's meant to be. I went back with my friends and my brother to celebrate his birthday, and this time the experience was amazing. Our server, Sam, was incredible--attentive, kind, and on top of everything. I also got the chance to meet Mat in person, and he was just as genuine and welcoming as he was on the phone. The service and the food were excellent, and the entire night felt special from start to finish. Because of how the staff and management handled everything, Del Frisco's completely turned things around for me. We will definitely be going back, and I'll absolutely be bragging about how amazing the manager and staff were to me and my party that night. read more

I started with a dirty gin martini ($19.50) that was good but not great and for an appetizer I ordered the King Crab Rainbow Roll ($31.00) pricey but it was an excellent roll!! I also had a bowl of the lobster bisque ($14.00) that was good and had a generous about of lobster chunks in it. My main course was an 8oz filet mignon ($56.00) that was delicious and cooked to a perfect medium rare. We also had a couple of sides the creamed spinach ($15.00) average at best and the sweet potato casserole ($16.00) and that was delicious!! Sad to say we did not enjoy our experience here due to the service we received. We sat at our table for 30 minutes with no server. But we just browsed the menu and waited. A waiter stopped by after and asked if we had been helped. After we said that we hadn't, he begrudgingly said "Well, I guess I'll take you" He didn't greet us or even tell us his name. So right off the bat we felt like we were a hindrance to him. I can understand if you're stressed or short staffed or whatever the case, but I don't think it should be taken out on the customer. I started to notice that he was very friendly and conversational with his other tables around us, but we did not get that from him. He was short with us and seemed annoyed to serve us. So much so that I began to think we had done something to upset him. We did order a couple things to go, but I can't imagine that that would warrant the behavior. I felt like a burden, which is not how we wanted to spend our evening. We were rushed with our check and we weren't asked for our Landrys Select card, or even if we had one. But by the end of the night I felt so uneasy that I was ready to leave. We did get a goodbye and thank you from the host stand, which was nice. However, the overall experience left a bad taste and I would find it difficult to return. We have been to the Plano location numerous times and had a fantastic time. Tonight my husband and I selected Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary on 1/1/2025, anticipating an evening of fine dining and exemplary service. While certain aspects of the experience met our expectations, there were significant lapses in management and customer service that warrant attention. We ordered two steaks and a salmon entrée to share. When our entrees arrived, both steaks were undercooked. Our waiter, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and attentiveness, promptly took the plates--despite their scorching temperature--back to the kitchen to address the issue. However, when the steaks were returned, the preparation was still incorrect. Rather than send the meals back again and prolong the disruption, my husband and I decided to exchange the steaks between ourselves and proceed with our celebration. Throughout the evening, the waitstaff, including our server and other attendants, was incredibly apologetic and attentive. However, no manager approached us during the meal to acknowledge or address the issue. As Landry Select Club members, we are accustomed to a higher standard of service at Del Frisco's, where management typically takes initiative to personally rectify any guest concerns. At the conclusion of the meal, as we were leaving, I expressed to one of the waiters my desire to speak with the manager. It was only then that Matty, the manager, finally appeared. When I informed him of the issues we encountered, his response was dismissive and defensive. He initially claimed ignorance of any problems, which was concerning given that one of the steaks had already been comped. Upon being reminded of this, he shifted his narrative, stating that he was unaware we wanted to speak with him--an unacceptable response in a professional dining environment. Matty's demeanor was neither apologetic nor accommodating. Instead, he displayed a mean-spirited and defensive attitude that fell well below the standards of effective and courteous customer service. His behavior also raised concerns about his ability to manage both patrons and employees with integrity. Given his temperament, I would advise the staff to be aware of potential retaliatory conduct, as outlined under Texas Penal Code § 36.06, Texas Labor Code Chapter 21, and Texas Statutes, Chapter 554, which protect employees from actions such as demotions, negative performance evaluations, or other retaliatory measures following legitimate complaints. While the waitstaff exhibited commendable professionalism, the managerial failure left a lasting negative impression. High Dollar Dinner not so good. Well the wife and I went out for date. This Thursday night we tried the Del Frisco in Downtown Dallas. The atmosphere was nice, and the inside was very beautiful. My wife was first to walk to the both and ask for table young lady was like do you have a reservation my wife reply no. Young lady was checking for available table but other hosted walked up and told us the next reservation at 8:30 there an opening . Then she check the watch and said it 8:18 and could we wait at the bar until 8:30 . So we went to bar and sat for 12 minutes and they called us to be seated, so we basically we sat at bar and watched four tables stay empty. Well we chalked that one up like Okay. The waiter was fantastic and was very attentive. The food was not best my steak had be sent back twice and the crab meat on top tastes like rubber. The steak I wanted it cooked medium well and it was cooked rare and when finally came back it well done. I paid 90 dollars for steak not cooked right. Then on top of that the load bake potatoe had a little butter and cheese. It look like a bake potato you buy at freezer section at a store. My wife plate was okay she said. So break it down I feel that waste $286.00 dollars and night out at this restaurant having wait for awhile when four tables was open and food not cooked right.
