Discovered this restaurant by chance and have not regretted it. My kids love their food! Its really yummy, fresh off the stove and inexpensive. Our go-to place for food whether delivery or pick up. I have never gotten delivery from here, only take out as I live on Linden right next to them (which is super convenient). Very good food and pretty tasty boba too! I got the walnut and shrimp and it definitely hit the spot with its crunchiness and creamy yet sweet sauce. My only, personal, preference would be for the sauce to have a bit more depth of flavour but that's a silly complaint because how it tastes really differs from place to place. I also got the house combo chow mein one time and it was fantastic! Fed me for 2 meals and a snack haha. Great prices for the food. My brother always ordered from here on Postmates and one day on the way home I stopped, because it's always been good when my bro ordered. I went in and ordered, they ALL were nice. Like one nice person after the other, they all came out, I had a full on convo with the lady, and she was talking to my son about their fish and giving him cookies. I was surprised by this little gem! I drove by it several, several times and never considered it until one day when I received a coupon and figured...hey it's worth a shot. Their food is made fresh to order, no heat lamps, and is quite tasty for a very reasonable price. I enjoyed the General Tsao chicken and spicy fish (it's breaded and fried with a nice sauce). Overall, I have enjoyed many of the other dishes that I've sampled and would come back again. Portions are big, so it's a good idea to share the dishes. If you're in the mood for quick Chinese food, and want something better than Panda Express, or the stuff that sits under a heat lamp drenched in sauce in hopes of keeping it from drying out, give Asian Chef a try. It was fresh and not too heavy like some Chinese food. I asked the guy how they cool their veggies and he said they were sautéed but when I get them they looked like they were steamed with a jello like consistency and I completely avoided eating that because it grossed me out just looking at it but even just eating the chow main and rice messed up my stomach. Everything is cooked fresh so there's none of that staleness you find at a lot of chinese fast food places. And probably the best thing is that if you don't want mushrooms .. for example .. or want to add more .. you can tell them and they can make it that way. Asian Chef is in the no-one-wants-to-cook-tonight rotation. We always get delivery and the food arrives fresh and hot in a good period of time. Tremendous value for quality, quanity and price. Biggest complaint is every now and then the noodles have a bit too much oil on them, but this happens infrequently enough and it not so much too much to stop us from being regulars. Diner beware! This place just blatantly tried to rip me off, it was a $40+ order put through Uber Eats. About 15mins after being prepared they called me and told me that the order is being cancelled because they decided to close early. Ok.. no huge deal.. I'll just reorder from somewhere else. Just in case I decided to wait till they cancelled.. in 5 mins after my order was still being prepared I called them and asked to cancel my order on their end (since I have to pay a fee to cancel on my end). They told me they can't and to call Uber.. I did and Uber told me since the order is being prepared by the Asian Chef, Uber cannot cancel it and to call them again. Ok, this isn't annoying at all.. so I call them back to let them know that Uber can't do anything and that they (Asian Chef) has to cancel my order. They say ok and within 5 seconds it was cancelled. They were obviously trying to take my money and giving the run-around hoping I would just give up.. Shame...! read more

This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Panda Express would have been better. The beef in the beef and broccoli didn't taste, look or have the consistency of beef. It was mushy and I thought we had ordered beef imitation but it was just really bad. The chow mein noodles were flavorless and orange in color so that made them very unappetizing. The fried rice was dry and the pork in the rice was burnt. We didn't even get fortune cookies. Even my dad who came over for dinner and eats everything and anything (including seafood buffets) couldn't eat this food. We ended up throwing it all away and going to chik-fil-a instead. The menu isn't anything new if you've eaten at restaurants like this before. Basic chicken, beef and seafood items including the 2-item or 3-item combos. For all you Panda Express eaters, Panda Express is not only overrated in its price and pro-American taste, they don't give you a lot of the items. At Asian Chef, they give you a HEAPING helping of items and a plethora of options for drinks. There are those of you who like your Sprite vs. 7up and your Coke vs. Pepsi. Anyway, on to the food. I love my chicken so the first time I went I got the Garlic Chicken and second time I went I ordered the Mushroom Chicken with BBQ Chicken wing and Spring Roll. I love the way the Garlic Chicken tasted, plenty of chicken and not trying to jip me. When I order an item, I prefer to have plenty of WHAT I ORDERED. The Mushroom Chicken also came as exactly as I wanted, plenty of MUSHROOM and plenty of CHICKEN as well as the zucchini/cucumber. I hate eating the mushroom chicken side at Panda Express b/c they always give me plenty of vegetables that are CHEAP and not filling..For example, when you order Panda Express's "Beef & Broccoli" what do you get? A whole lot of broccoli and maybe a few pieces of beef. That's not the case at Asian Chef and I appreciate that. They aren't a franchise so they take the extra effort to really fulfill the orders.
