    Pho rare beef and brisket
    Audrey E.

I had an overnight trip to Reno so I decided to give this place a try. I am actually pretty impressed with how well the pho tasted here. I ordered a large pho with rare beef and brisket. The broth was very flavorful and had the authentic pho smell to it. They gave a good portion of meat and noodles for the large bowl and you can't beat $13 for a big bowl of deliciousness. Service was great, the staff members were all very nice and helpful. Very efficient. Ambiance is good, lots of seating and tables for dine in. Would definitely come back here for my work trips.

    Pork fried rice

Had to make this a quick stop and service was quick. My go to pork fried rice and a fantastic boba honeydew. The rice was excellent with just enough grease and loads of pork also a huge portion which I loved. They are in the center with Costco but parking is available. There are many options on the menu I will try on my future visits. It definitely is worth your visit.

    Egg rolls

Stopped by while running some errands in the shopping center. Ordered my standard order - combination pho and imperial rolls / eggrolls. Eggrolls were fried well, the accouterments were a little sad to look at. Overall flavor was 3.5/5 Combo Pho has 2 sizes, the larger size is only $1 more, but I ordered the regular size and it was plenty. The broth was really oily and the meatballs were very bland...like cardboard. 2.5/5 Ambience: zero ambience, typical casual sitdown Asian restaurant Service: 3/5 Fast, normal, nothing stood out good or bad. Price: With tip my total was $27 ish, I'd say great value to volume ratio. Flavorwise, I think you can find better elsewhere.

    Hot and sour soup

The "curry chicken" is 99% canned water chestnuts and bamboo you can still smell the can brine was nasty. The hot and sour soup was also full of canned bs I just set this shit out for the hungry humans but I wouldn't go again

    Crispy Fried Chicken.

I love their Crispy Fried Chicken. Portion is great with a lot of pickled side vegetables. And most of all items on the menu are reasonably priced. You are getting the bang for your buck. Great job!

We went to Costco and were hungry after the shopping trip and this restaurant was conveniently located. For those unaware, the restaurant is located within the Costco shopping center. The pho that I had was good, especially the broth. The meat was tender and the noodles were cooked nicely. One downside was that the noodles to broth ratio was more on the broth side. I wish there were more noodles in the bowl. My wife had the vermicelli noodles, which she said was delicious. One negative is that we ordered the Thai tea with boba, which we had to return as it was not good. The service was good and prompt. We were seated quickly and our order was taken quickly as well. In addition, the food came out quickly. The only negative is that the restaurant ambience is lacking. We were seated in the adjoining room, not the main room of the restaurant. The restaurant was dark and there were restaurant supply visible throughout the place. It appears they are lacking storage.

Asian Noodles never disappoints! It's one of my husband and I's go to restaurants for a quick date whether lunch or dinner. It is easy to access and in a convenient location in the Costco parking lot. The staff have always been kind to me and whoever else I'm with and service is almost always good with occasional duds. The restaurant seems small, but has a whole back room with a lot of extra seating. I've hardly ever had to wait to be seated. I always opt for the Flame Broiled Pork and an iced coffee with the condensed milk (I think that's what it is, I could be totally wrong haha). The pork is super filling and always extremely flavorful. The iced coffee is a lovely treat and if you're a coffee lover, I highly recommend it. Most recently, I tried their crab wontons/rangoon and they were crispy and flavorful; would definitely order again!

One of my go to Asian food spots in Reno. Solid restaurant and great prices. Yes, it's not the "best" but what do you expect for 10- 11 dollars? Good, quality Vietnamese food. The imperial rolls are crunchy and hot. The fried wonton soup is really good. The pho, Bun rieu, and bun Bo hue warms the soul. Bonus: If you are a Costco member, they give you 10% off!

Delicious! Spring rolls were okay but the pho was delicious. They added some spice per my request and it was great.

I ordered the combo Pho and it was a large portion. All the meats were terrific and in generous portions. The veggies and garnishments were fresh. I also ordered the spring rolls. Disappointing Experience and Unexpected Charges…read more We visited this Vietnamese restaurant during our trip to 205 West 5th Street, Reno, NV 89503 . It was recommended by our tour guide, and since we were unfamiliar with the area, we followed the recommendation. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The restaurant's interior was quite old and dated. We also noticed flies flying around inside the dining area, which was unpleasant. The food also took about 15-20 minutes to arrive, even though we only ordered three bowls of Vietnamese noodles. The biggest disappointment came when we received the bill. The three noodle dishes were $15.95, $16.50, and $16.50, for a food subtotal of $48.95. We were then charged an $8.81 Service Fee. On top of that, an 18% tip of $10.40 was suggested, calculated after the Service Fee had already been added. With $4.05 in tax, the final total came to $72.21. In other words, the food itself was $48.95, while the Service Fee, tip, and tax added another $23.26, which was about 32% of the final bill. I understand that restaurants have operating costs and that tipping is common in the U.S. However, I personally find it difficult to understand why customers are charged a Service Fee and then encouraged to leave an additional 18% tip calculated on top of that fee. This review is not about the food price itself. My main concern is the overall experience and the lack of transparency regarding the additional charges. For tourists visiting Reno, NV 89503 area, I recommend checking the menu carefully and asking about any additional Service Fees before ordering.

We ordered the Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken, Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun, and Gai Lan with Beef. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. With "Hong Kong Diner" in the name, I was expecting authentic Cantonese stir-fries with good wok hei. Unfortunately, the Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun lacked that signature smoky flavor, and the texture was closer to lo fun than traditional chow fun. The Gai Lan with Beef also lacked wok hei. The outer layer of the gai lan stems had been peeled away, so the stems lost the crisp texture that makes gai lan so enjoyable. The Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken was overly tender and quite salty. It seemed to be marinated so heavily that I couldn't really taste the natural flavor of the chicken. Overall, the restaurant offers generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service. I just wish the Cantonese dishes had delivered the wok hei I was expecting from a place with "Hong Kong Diner" in its name. :)

So, check out the menu before a visit to make sure they have what you are looking for. Pros: Yummy appetizers, spring rolls, vermicelli bowls, pho (beef was especially good), and speciality drinks. Other items too I am sure but this is what I have sampled so fat. Con: They really toasted the bread on the Bahn mi, on all times someone at our table has ordered it, it is a struggle to eat, especially for smaller mouths/ those in braces. So ask for it an adjustment- if you need it softer. They are more expensive than other options in the area.
