The sandwich wasn't piled high with anything except disappointment - so teeny tiny it's ridiculous to think of how expensive it was. So glad we happened upon this place! Found out they've been open less than a year. I tried the classic roast beef, a deviled egg and the potato salad. My bf had the Rueben. Everything was delicious! I'm pretty picky when it comes to deli's but the sandwiches were piled high with meat, great bread and the salad was perfect, not dry. Lots of little touches, fresh brewed teas, all natural sugar sodas and great service. read more

In the morning this place is quiet, we were the only guests. Inside and outside seating on bar-height chairs. Good people watching along Beaver St. Coffee was piping hot and tasted good. I never order pastrami. EVER. I've never liked it, to be honest. But holy wow does this place make you re-think what you like and don't like. The pastrami on rye was out of this world!!! So rich and tasty with so many different flavor notes from salty to tangy to savory. I can only imagine how the other sandwiches taste (amazing, I bet!!!). A bit of a hassle getting to the deli because of road work and detours on 180. Parking can be an issue, but right now the parking lot of the out-of-business Jimmy-John's next door works well. A few tables inside and nice shady seating on the patio in front. It may be a five star place, but I can only give it a four based on a single visit. I sawr (spelled incorrectly on purpose) the reviews and needed lunch before heading to the airport, so an early lunch was in order. It is definitely a small place, so my bet is lunch is very busy and a lot of take out...at 11:15 it was not busy and seating was easy. I ordered the Aspen Club thinking I will just eat half of the sandwich (I don't like to overeat before taking three flights). OMG...it was so delicious I ate the whole darn thing. It was just the right mix of everything. The bacon was crispy. The avocado sets this club above the rest. And there was enough mayo to taste, but not too much. Really the avocado adds a smoothness and moisture that allows for needing less mayo. If I am ever in Flagstaff again, the Aspen is on the agenda. read more

We are staying in Flagstaff for a few day, visiting from Cape May, NJ. We were doing some all day hikes in the area, and usually pick up lunch to go for a picnic halfway thru our day. We lucked out and happened upon the Aspen Deli today. In a word, FANTASTIC! The sandwiches were out of this world, super fresh and absolutely delicious!. The staff is super friendly too. The BEST tuna sandwich on the planet, with sprouts, avocado, and great multi grain bread. We hope to go back tomorrow for another fabulous lunch! read more

Best sandwiches ever! Cute little deli. Has an outdoor patio and is pet friendly. Super nice employee. We had left and were out walking around and got caught in a sudden downpour. Okay. I thought their New Yorker (pepperoni, salami, prosciutto, vinegar etc aka high fat, high calorie and high sodium) was as good as it gets. I was wrong. Just had their Reuben and it was sublime. Best Ruben I have ever had. No microwaving the pastrami here. Nope, it was lightly charred on the edges which added a smokiness to it. Attempt to eat just half of it failed miserably. We stopped in Flagstaff for lunch on our way to the big hole in the ground - we're visiting from Cleveland, OH and wanted something quick yet healthy and also unique to the area. Aspen Deli did not disappoint! We were welcomed with a smile by Michael, he gave us suggestions based on what we liked and what they were know for, including the baked goods that are homemade each day by his grandma (too cute!), etc. It was a lovely day so we enjoyed our lunch on the outdoor patio. This place is awesome! Ended up here for a late lunch one day while out exploring downtown Flag (late lunch because we previously walked out of two places due to horrible service). We were starving by the time we got here and upon walking in it smelled AMAZING. We decided on the Aspen Club and a Reuben. I had the Aspen Club and it was seriously one of the best sandwiches ever. It came with three slices of delicious sourdough- one in the middle and honestly had some of the best honey mustard I have ever had on it. The Reuben looked amazing, with tons of meat and melted cheese. The chips they have as a side were super good too. Had a chocolate chip cookie bar for dessert and it did not disappoint. Will return for sure when I'm back in Flag. read more
