I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place, especially since I eat there about once a week! Their sandwiches are amazing. The Jersey Girl is the best sandwich I have ever eaten. That was until I tried the Pastrami Melt. They cook their Pastrami so it is crispy on the edges and is so lean and delicious. This was my first time at the deli and it was amazing! We were walking towards the deli when we saw a deli worker on the side of the building, who nicely directed us to the deli. When we walked inside said worker, Taylor?, was wonderful in helping us decide on what to order. I had the jersey girl sandwich. I cannot wait to go back to Flagstaff again just to get this sandwich! We also had the New Yorker, which i wasn't a big fan of. There was a sauce on the sandwich that i did not like but was okay with it since I had my own jersey girl sandwich to eat! The homemade Pastrami seems to have come from an east coast kosher deli & the buffalo sauce has a great flavor with a little burn. Aspen Deli is a local sandwich shop that's been around for a couple of years now! This isn't my first time here, and each time I have been here I've gotten the Flagstaff veggie and it has always, always been delicious. Today the bread was just a little bit dry for my taste, so I think next time I come I will try a hot veggie sandwich. I actually can't wait! The average price for a sandwich is around $10 but includes a side and drink, so it is an excellent value for a filling meal. You can order with lodel if you're not able to go to the location. They also provide a $1 refund for parking, and a coupon for the sports shop right next door. Definitely come by here to support the Flagstaff locals. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in here before heading out to hike for the day for a quick breakfast we could take to go. The breakfast sandwiches are so good! The perfect size to fill you up and everything melted together very nicely. Also while I ran to grab our car the owner gave my boyfriend some great tips about the area and our drive home to California. Breakfast was ready very quickly and we were on our way. This place has some of the best sandwiches in Flagstaff. Recently their prices were raised, but it's currently 7.99 for the sandwich only, and an additional 3.50 to make it a combo with chips/a salad and a drink. I have a couple pretty large complaints though. Recently, they added the 3.50 to make it a combo, whereas before it was 7.99 for a combo automatically. This made it really affordable to me, but that extra 3.50 adds up overtime, and I will most likely not regularly stop by here when I can, but rather make it a rare occasion kind of deal. I'm sure I'm not the only consumer who is feeling this, as we live in a town with a high population of students and low income workers. During rushes, they are often only staffed with one person. The people who have been here before know that the wait is worth it, but recently during my visit, I saw 3 separate people walk in, wait for about a minute, and leave. A minute seems unrealistic, but people know delis to be fast, and this one is not exactly that. I would possibly be more okay with paying the extra price as well, if I was to receive my food faster, because going to a deli on my way home shouldn't be something I really have to plan in terms of time. I think if the things above don't change sometime soon, they're looking at a potentially gloomy future. One that I don't particularly want to think about, considering there's no where else to get a sandwich with cranberry cream cheese on it. read more
