Had the Osso Bucco with shrimp picante. The Osso Bucco is a must but the shrimp picante was too spicy! Literally filled with pepper flakes. Can't enjoy it when your tongue is all numb and on fire. The menu is extensive and the pasta was fresh. side salad is very big but over dressed for my taste. The restaurant is nice but a little tired and could benefit from a refresh. My menu for example was crackled/old as were our dining chairs. I would say for the quality of the food and considering markup for being on the islands- the pricing is fair. Have been craving this place for a good minute so when my friend wanted to get Italian, I was all about it. Ambiance is good. We had to put the blind down because there was a really bright street light in the back geeking on my face, but at least they had the blind. We always order the Caesar salad, they make it right in front of you...or sort of. There wasn't enough space for the table so he made it behind us. It's pretty bomb but was a little saturated last night. My friend ordered the sausage puttanesca with rigatoni and I ordered the chicken assagio (which I always order!!! One day I'll try something different) I like that they allow to sub pasta with a mixed vegetable, which is what I got. I literally am in love with this dish. Boneless Julienne Chicken Pan Fried in Light Olive Oil, Garlic, Spicy Pepperoncini, Roasted Red Peppers, Capers, Black Olives, Mushrooms, and White Wine Butter Sauce. Except I don't get the mushrooms or olives, yuck. I tried my friend's dish and I found the sausage to be a bit dry and the dish could have used a little more sauce but the flavors were good (and a bit spicy) the dishes for dinner come in 2 sizes which is nice. 2/20/21... Usually we'd trek to the Miliani Location but because it was a last minute thing we decided to call in for reservations at this location since it was a lot closer to home. Let me explain for the 2 stars. So, we get seated and right away busser comes with waters and bread with butter. Bread temperature was on the cold side but no big deal. 1 star for the busser for being attentive and through out the night always re filled our water. Waited forever almost 10 minutes for our server to come by. Finally I asked the same busser if he could find someone to take our order. Finally got to order. Server was nice. Here's what we ordered Chicken anchovy olio w/ Angel hair Chicken Shrimp with portobello mushrooms with linguine Caesar salad Because of Covid they don't do table side Caesar salad which was fine, but I thought the taste was off. It just didn't taste the same :( but of course we ate it cause it ain't cheap! Our meal finally shows up and ugh ! The chicken in my olio was dry over cook burnt on the edges and hard ! Used to come here often then we just got use to the one by Alamoana Mall . We went back here for dinner with friends since they are living close by and Friday night out in town can be like a zoo. Wasn't disappointed since staffs are friendly and attentive. Bread was soft and tasted real good with their butter. Ordered the clamp and calamari sticks for appetizer. The pasta wasn't as great as it usually is since I think the chef forgot to salt our meals so it tasted kinda flat and I ended up taking the whole thing home. First I'll start off with we received a gift card to here as a gift and we were eager to use it. We made reservations for a Sunday night. 7:45 it wasn't packed in Kapolei but it was busy. Our waiter was amazing! He did a great job helping us, my kids 9/13 asked a million questions about the menu and he answered each and everyone with a smile. We started off with bread, broccoli and a Caesar salad. Drinks: Moscato, Chianti, lemonade and sprite. Everything was delicious, drinks were great we really enjoyed them. Dinner: my kids split fettuccine alfredo with a side of meatballs, I had chicken parmigiana and my hubby did too, but with ravioli. I had food envy from my kids! The alfredo was so good! I throughly enjoyed my whole meal. Dessert: spumoni, tiramisu and chocolate cake. The Spumoni wasn't what we had expected it had more of a eggnog flavor to it but my kids didn't mind as they love eggnog. Even though a previous experience at this Assagio's left us feeling a little underwhelmed, my friends and I decided to give it another try. Plus we were too lazy to drive any where else. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and quickly seated. Our hostess informed us our waitress would be with us shortly. So far this was looking good. The last time we were here, the hostess was indifferent and less than friendly. I believe your dining experience always begins from the moment you walk into a restaurant and so far this was looking good. Assagio's menu is pretty extensive. I posted menu pics here so others can peruse the menu before deciding to venture here or not. There were 5 of us and we decided to share a few entrees and appetizers. If you want to split an entree, there's an extra $2 charge per person. I couldn't wrap my head around this. Is it because they're going to serve the other half on a different plate? Doing the math, you'll pay an extra $4 for any entree and it's not like they're going to give you an extra portion just because you're sharing. Doesn't make sense, but oh well. We decided not to tell the waitress we were sharing and asked that everything be brought out at the same time. We didn't have to wait long for our food but then again the restaurant wasn't busy. For entrees we had the Shrimp Scampi, Pepper Steak and the Scallops & Shrimp Alla Bolla. They offer small or large portions for the entrees. Since we were sharing we chose the large which price ranged from about $28 - $36. The large portions are generous and are great for sharing. For apps we ordered the Homemade Cold Antipasto, Calamari in Carrozza and Bay Shrimp Salad. Price ranged from about $9 - $11. The food was very good. The jumbo shrimp on both of the entrees were succulent and tasty, as well as the scallops. I didn't care for the Pepper Steak, it was too peppery, I know, duh, it's a Pepper Steak. I tried just a sliver and about died. I was spitting out large peppercorns left and right. My eyes began to water and I was frantically gulping water while trying to suppress a coughing fit. Didn't work and almost ended up spitting water all over the place. Not lady like I know. Good thing i wore water proof mascara. Think I'll stick to just a simple steak. Most of the apps were good. My favorite was the Shrimp Salad. The vinaigrette dressing was light and refreshing. I didn't care for the Homemade Cold Antipasto, it just seemed to heavy. The apps portions were pretty generous as well. Even though there were 5 of us (3 guys and 2 girls), we couldn't finish everything and ended up having to take the pasta home. Of course they're always room for dessert no matter how full you are. I think dessert just goes into a completely different part of your tummy. We ordered the tiramisu and creme brûlée. Tiramisu was off the hook, light and fluffy. Don't know about the creme brûlée since I don't like the texture, but my friends seemed to enjoy it. Our waitress Merica was very friendly and attentive. She didn't hover over us and seemed to always appear at just the right time. She kept our water glass full and refilled sodas and poured our wine for us. The ambiance of the restaurant is intimate and cozy. If you're wanting some Italian food in the Kapolei area, give Assagio's a try. I'm the type of person who has to write out a menu and shopping list along with our weekly schedule... otherwise my kids and I would end up wearing pajamas and getting McDonald's drive thru all day, every day. Well, on the menu for yesterday was Homemade Spaghetti! One problem though, when I went to get some ground beef out of the freezer to defrost it... there was none! How did that happen? Idk. Well, I had to run to Target to get a few school items, so I figured I would stop at the market and get ground beef as well! Guess what? Target has groceries (I never noticed) so I bought some ground beef there. Fast forward a few hours, it's 4pm and I'm about to make dinner. I open the package of ground beef... and it smelled like, ummm, fart. I know, Gross! Sorry. You know when you're driving down Geiger from Ewa to Kapolei and you pass the water sewage treatment plant? Well, the ground beef smelled like that. Just then, my husband comes home from work and I said, "I got rotten meat at Target and no back up plan... so we are going out to dinner!" Thats how we ended up at Assagio. We've been here several times before (only the Kapolei location, I've heard the other locations are better). But I like this location. It's not the best Italian food I've ever had, but it's consistent. It's consistently good. Not the best, but pretty darn good. (Although it seems a little pricey for what you get). Other things I like about this place is that it is very clean and the atmosphere is very elegant and relaxing, not too uppity, but not all rowdy either. The staff is always super nice and fairly knowledgable. They always make extra effort to make sure the foods are safe for my son with food allergies. I learned two lessons today: 1. Good service, came for my Moms birthday & everything was excellent. The Caesar salad was awesome & the seafood com was ono. My other half & my mom & dad meal was good too. Maybe just the appetizer ( Calamari) could be better cause it was really small & could only feed one person. Ps. Located in Kapolei next to pho one. I've heard about this place from from friends who came here but nobody ever really said anything great about the food. So thought we try it on a holiday. Everyone knows holidays everywhere is supah buzy so we decided to go early, 6pm. Early in the evening, the restaurant was already half full with about 3 parties going on. We were in luck with getting seating fast and by the window to boot! Hostess was a male who was expressionless. No greetings or even a HI. Kinda waited for us to speak. Decor was very nice, modern, crisp clean lines. Loved the lighting. Elegant enough to get dressed up for dinner but ok to still come in casual. Restaurant is not to big, atomsphere was cozy and a little tight. The only weird part is the seating area for customers to wait for tables is right in the front and while you are dining customers are facing you. Regardless the decor was a 5 star. Our waiter was really nice and attentive, of course place was packed later in the evening and did have to wait a little to order dessert and beer but what to be expected. Appetizer we got the pesto, sundried tomato bread, was very dry and not al all what I was expecting. It was my first time here so I can't say if that is how it is suppose to be? Anyhoos, did not like it. Calamari looked and tasted disappointing. Looked like fish sticks you buy in the freezer section in the supermarket. This was my fourth attempt for Assiagio to redeem themselves, Last night I visited the Kapolei location; I had previously dined in their Kailua, Ala Moana, and Mililani locations, each time leaving the restaurant with the feeling of meh.. Last night, I chose the Lemon Picatta Chicken, which is one of my favorite dishes. The presentation was very pleasing to the eye. The chicken itself was nice and gold in appearance, smothered with oodles and oodles of capers(yummy). However, the chicken seemed a little thin, as if the breast had been sliced in half. My chicken was overcooked; somewhat dry and hard to cut. The picatta sauce was very flavorful and not too oily, making it easy to complete my entire meal without having the greasy feeling. The entrance very inviting. The dining was semi-dimly lit, which seemed perfect for couples, and families with older children, not to sure how it would be for families with infants and toddlers. The staff were all very pleasant, patient, and quite helpful with ordering recommendations. Parking is "lot style" shared with an adjacent restaurant, so I'm sure given the wrong date and time, parking could be rather difficult. In all, it was a nice place to dine. Would I go back? We love Assagios in Kapolei and the staff. Always attentive, always friendly. Our food is always great as well. This is our go to Italian place on the West side. The only reason it is missing a 5th star is that I think it is time for the restaurant to do some remodeling. The chairs are pretty stained and need to either be re-upholstered or changed out already. I love sitting by the window but they really need to dust the window ledges too. I understand Covid has hit businesses pretty hard, but just a thought to keep the ambiance of this eatery. Of course we will still be eating here, just wished it looked a bit more updated. read more

This is my favorite fake Italian Restaurant. You can't come in here expecting authentic Italian food because there really aren't that many great Italian places in Hawai'i (or maybe I just don't know about them??). I've had authentic Italian food on the Mainland and you just can't compare the two so I don't. This place has decent pasta and I always leave with a full tummy and leftovers for lunch the next day. They have a huge menu so it makes picking a dish a bit tough for some but luckily, I always eat the same thing when I'm there. First off, I LOVE their bread. I can literally eat two loaves of their bread all by myself when I'm there. And I'm not shy about the butter either so by the time my actual dinner gets to the table, I'm already relatively full. As for my usual dish, I always get the Shrimp and Chicken picante and they come with giant lightly breaded shrimp along with several pieces of crispy skinned chicken thighs. I like how that their pasta isn't drenched in any kind of sauce but rather lightly tossed in olive oil (butter?) and garlic. It's the perfect compliment to my chicken and shrimp. If I'm craving something sweet at the end of the night, I usually go for their sorbet because it really helps to cut the oiliness of dinner. I'm especially fond of their lemon sorbet. read more

I may be in the minority on this restaurant, but we were not impressed! it may have been because we were a group of 6, including 2 young kids or something, but the service was really lacking. The service, for some reason, was extremely slow and cold. And when the food came, it didn't make up for the lack of service either. The calamari legs was disappointing with limited portion and even more limiting taste. My chicken assaggio portion was big but didn't taste that good. My husband's veal was ok, but the bed of pasta tasted like it had been sitting in the pot for long time and not fresh. With the service and food both lacking, we just couldn't wait to get out of there. However, as we were leaving, I did notice other couples enjoying their meal. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes. Tried calling the restaurant to get help with an order I made and I can't get a hold of anyone. I placed a online order through door dash once the restaurant had opened. Went down there to pick up my food just to be told... we aren't accepting online orders now.. So why on the website is it still listed?? Asked bartender for help. No luck! was told no one can help me there and I need to contact door dash. Which I have and they refuse to give me a refund. So I'm now out of $100 and came home with no dinner.
