My experience here was excellent. I dropped in for lunch on a co-workers recommendation. Seating was quick, followed by my water and a bread basket. The warm bread that was crispy outside and soft inside was delicious with the butter that was at the perfect texture and easy to spread. I had the broiled haddock and chose mushrooms and scalloped potatoes as my sides. The haddock was flakey with the right texture and taste as it was cooked perfectly. The mushrooms were piping hot, clearly just prepared with butter and garlic. The potatoes had a crust of cheese (Swiss?) and the portion was as big as the haddock. My hubby brought me here for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere is lovely. We were greeted at the podium and I was told happy birthday which was a nice start. Our table was in the back in a rounded booth. The tables are quite cramped together so our space was a bit uncomfortable but we made it work. We started with some delicious craft mocktails and appetizers which were top notch. We shared the catch of the day which was cooked perfectly but didn't have much flavor, and the lobster carbonara which was to die for. Our server was great, but never made mention of my birthday. I was thinking a dessert or something would come out, but nothing like it. We didn't order dessert because often times something is brought out as a birthday treat and if you order you're then drowning in sweets. Oh well. Ordered: clam chowder, lobster bisque, lobster crab louie, crispy calamari, crab cake benedict, cold lobster roll My favorite item was the clam chowder. My brother liked the lobster crab louie. My parents liked the complimentary bread. Clam chowder is very meaty and flavorful. We didn't want the bread bowl soaking up all the soup so opted for just a cup size. Lobster bisque can be skipped. It's surprisingly lacking in ocean flavor. I find that ironic considering how much lobster they go through here, unless they mostly just stock up on meat. Lobster crab louie. I'm normally wary of seafood salads because of the dressing. The one here is very refreshing especially with their tomato and avocado. My family really liked their presentation of stacking in a round mold and arranging endives around the sides. Crispy calamari. The batter is a bit soggy and thick but flavorwise we liked it. It was fun to get bits of fried pepper and pickles. I like how they have a sock for the lemon to catch falling seeds and reduce juice flying all over the place. I will assume they wash it in between uses. Crab cake benedict was recommended to us by our server. We didn't like the crab cake because it was too dry and salty. The potato and peppers stir fry on the side was more interesting. We asked for added avocado on the side and they only charged $2 or $3. Lobster roll cold. The bread and fries were mediocre. When is Boston you gotta go with seafood. We came into Atlantic Fish for lunch on a Monday and didn't have any probably getting a table. I will say most seats were full so we for sure got lucky. We started off with drinks and since I knew I was going to be getting seafood I had to get a drink that tastes like the sea so I went with the Atlantic Fish Co. Martini (dirty) and you get the option of Bleu Cheese Olives or Lump Crab so I of course went with the Lump Crab. I will say too this martini was very good and they give you a nice sized piece of Lump Crab so you can't beat it. We had also not yet had oysters so we had to order a half dozen East Coast Oysters. Let me tell you, these were the best raw oysters I have ever had. They are pricy but man I could have eaten these all day. Plus I love everything they bring with them and the display. They are a must. For my entrée I was having a hard time since so much on the menu sounded amazing. I was in between 2 things: The Maine Lobster Roll and the Housemade Lobster & Scallop Ravioli, of course the two things I literally had the day before, a Lobster Roll and pasta. I will say I ended up with the Housemade Lobster & Scallop Ravioli and I'm very glad I did. It comes with 5 ravioli which doesn't sound like a lot but these ravioli are very big and packed with lobster and scallops. Plus the also have pieces of lobster on top so again best of both worlds. The Housemade Lobster & Scallop Ravioli was amazing and so rich but not too much. I will say 5 ravioli is really all I needed because they really fill you up. I believe this might have been the best seafood ravioli I had ever had. Ashley had the Lobster Crab Louie which I also got to try a good amount of. This dish was very light but so fresh. I will say I for sure felt healthy eating it. I'm never one who is going to complain about getting to eat extra crab and lobster. Atlantic Fish is a beautiful restaurant with an amazing staff. How much did I enjoy my dinner at Atlantic Fish Company? I went back two days later for a take-out lunch order, that's how much! This place came highly recommended by so many people and it definitely did not disappoint. They take reservations (and I highly recommend making it in advance bc it books up quick!). I noticed at Monday lunch time, there were plenty of seats even at 12pm. The clam chowder and oysters (fried & raw) were my favorite. My boyfriend and I decided to split the clam chowder bread bowl & halibut entree. Without even asking, each dish came split in half. Service is obviously amazing here! I recommend not getting the bread bowl. It soaks up too much of the soup. Also, a loaf of bread is served at each table (and upon request for take out orders) and that bread is absolutely delicious paired with the soup, or even alone! Our server recommended the east coast oysters and boy were they huge. The fried oysters so crisp and fresh. The scallops & octopus were both a little too sweet for my taste. It overpowered the seafood taste. The halibut was our least favorite as it was a little dry. The crust, however was very crispy and delicious. My husband and I started with a special brunch cocktail, a Lavender Spritz made with Bombay Sapphire, St. Germain, Lemon Juice, Lavender Syrup and Soda Water and a Castle Island Brewing White Ale, a Belgian-Style Wheat Beer brewed with Valencia oranges and coriander. I ordered the Baked Halibut Shakshuka, one of my favorite brunch dishes is Shakshuka and as our server described it, "a twist on the traditional Dish substituting halibut for eggs. My husband ordered the Corned Beef Hash, that came out in a sizzling cast iron pan with corned beef hash, soft eggs and a mustard hollandaise which he really enjoyed and to balance out out savory dishes, we also decided to split the Caramelized Apple French Toast, made with challah bread, cinnamon mascarpone cream, as well! This was decadent and so delicious! Just average this time. We were here about a year ago and something has chanced from 2023 to 2024. New Chef? New management? Something happened. No where near as good as it was last year. I had the full Branzino and just no flavor. No seasoning in anything and no sauce. Just lack of attention to detail. Got the baked alaska for desert and they didnt sit it out. Starting off right with some warm bread, crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. The butter was soft and creamy and the combo with bread was delicious. We had some Sauvignon Blanc Kopu, Marlborough, which was a sweet dry wine and the Versailles is an old fashioned. Then the appetizers came. It was pretty crispy and the peppers really enhanced the calamari. The Cesar salad is just a regular Cesar salad, nothing really stood out. The lobster roll was good, the bread was buttery and crisp and there was a good amount of lobster. The fries were actually pretty crispy and were very yummy. The last dish we had was the shrimp and crab stuffed lobster. There was barely any shrimp, I think there were like 2 pieces. The crab cake was pretty good, but a little on the bland side. The lobster was perfectly cooked, but it seemed so little for 2lb. Overall, it was pretty good, but could be better. We went there for lunch and were immediately seated. We did not need reservations. We started with a delicious hot bread basket with salty butter. Hit the spot! The espresso martini was on point. we ordered the clam chowder and the lobster roll with mayonnaise and chive so it was the cold version. We split it and it was plenty for both of us. The air conditioning in this restaurant does not work. I have been twice and they have had issues with this on both occasions. This being the second time, I asked the waiter who told me that they don't have adequate air conditioning inside. We went here tonight upon recommendation of one of my cousins and everything was fantastic. I ordered a cocktail and the wagyu steak, medium rare. My boyfriend ordered a glass of the Malbec and the blackened tuna which was one of the fresh catches of the day. Both were very good although my steak was very tender, as I would expect from wagyu. For dessert we got the baked Alaska because we had seen people around us ordering it and the presentation was great. It comes with peppermint ice cream in it and you can also have chocolate sauce drizzled on top. My boyfriend also got an espresso martini for an after-dinner drink. Waitservice was great as well and our waiter was very friendly. This place is not cheap but I think it's on par with others in the area. For two of the more premium entrees, plus three drinks, plus dessert, it was about $175 before tip. Our server was very nice, but it took a long time to get drinks, he disappeared for awhile and we waited a very long time to get a bottle of wine as he attended to other tables. However the clam chowder was excellent. My dish was the seafood fra diabvolo. It was a huge serving of pasta and very little seafood, disappointing. A 2lb lobster was also ordered and that was not a 2 lb lobster !!!! I am born and raised here.... I know lobster. It was July 1; not my first visit to Atlantic Fish, but it was the most disappointing. I ordered a 2lb lobster with asparagus and corn pudding sides. The lobster was totally overcooked and the meat (even the knuckles) was very tough. The asparagus had dried out chopped parsley sprinkled on it, and the corn pudding was dried out and unpleasant. I've been eating at AF for over 15 years and I've not had a meal like this before. If I'd hadn't been with friends that were taking me to dinner I would have returned this meal. As it was I didn't want to embarrass them for choosing the restaurant, but I will seriously think twice about going back. It is not difficult to steam lobsters, and for Atlantic Fish to get that wrong was unforgivable. read more

Ambiance: this place id say is somewhat like mastros, so people tend to dress up. But I showed up with a hat and leggings with a coat so I guess as long as you can pay (that's always my reasoning... This resturant was a train wreck. The place was uncomfortably hot. The waiter (who was the only good part of the night) took our drinks; only to 15-20 minutes later still not have them because the bartender was "overwhelmed." We put in a second round immediately and that, too, took a long time. After sitting for 20-30 minutes, we were finally able to order - but our appetizers took another half-hour to come out, and even then, only half came. The other half took another 20 minutes. After sitting for what seemed to be several hours (but was "just" a couple) we got to dinner. Entrees didn't come out for about an hour after we ordered them. My steak was ordered medium and came out raw. Another person in our party had a steak - that was raw, too. The food, once cooked, was fine, but barely remarkable. The resturant was not without some positives. The clam chowder was good. The waiter was fine (clearly was not his fault). And the ambience was okay. But worst yet - there didn't seem to be any notice that our table was any worse situated than others. We got a quick apology each time the waiter came, but he didn't appear shocked. At the end, our bill wasn't changed - $60 for an incorrectly cooked and tardy steak is pretty wild. In total, we spent nearly 3 hours there, peppered with sorry's and poorly cooked food. Checked this place out during a work trip. They have tables to accommodate large groups of people - perfect place to dine with a large group. Everything was so delicious! Yes!!!! Exceptional restaurant in every respect. We visited on a very busy Saturday evening in August 2023 and scored two seats at the bar. First off, the bartenders set the standard for what bar service should be. Very professional, response/fast and with flair, NICE, funny and accommodating. The drinks were perfect - generous pours, beautifully presented, and expertly mixed. Just can't say enough in this department. And then the food . . . how to explain . . . I'm not sure, except to say this is my new favorite restaurant in the world. The complementary bread by itself is worth coming. Absolutely delicious. We ordered the lobster cocktail appetizer, followed by the halibut for her and the 8 oz filet for me. Sides were broccoli, asparagus, and gratin potatoes. All fantastic. Especially the halibut. At the end of the dinner the bartender shook my hand and thanked us for coming. Despite them being crazy busy. That's just . . . classy. Which in a word describes this place. Medium-sized, crispy shrimp with a spicy aioli on top of a nicely toasted butter roll. - Maine lobster risotto 2/5 - flavor was good but was very disappointed that the Arborio rice was undercooked. Al dente does not equal undercooked. The middle of the rice should have been cooked through with the broth and this was clearly not well executed. This was a miss. Service - our server was ok. The place was pretty packed for lunch but he was attentive, though not very helpful when I mentioned that the risotto was not cooked through. My family and I visited Atlantic Fish to celebrate my mother's birthday while we were visiting Boston. We sat in the bar area and had the pleasure of being served by the kindest server named, Wember. From the start, his menu recommendations were spot on and he even shared some incredible "locals only" info about Boston and surrounding areas to visit. We visited nearly every city and place of if interest he recommend and had a wonderful time. In addition, Wember went above and beyond to make my mother's birthday extremely special! Obviously this one is primarily seafood, and the menu is pretty great. I had to get the classic 1.25 lb. lobster dinner with a side of potatoes and corn on the cob. It tasted absolutely fantastic, and they also give you a little butter dish on this mini-stove/candle as well. Our waiter was very nice, engaging, and informative, and the interior was mainly dark wood and well designed with a few seafaring decorations. I would happily recommend Atlantic Fish, especially if you've been to Abe & Louie's, since they're kind of two sides of the same coin. read more

My husband and I were in the mood for a light lunch in Back Bay today. We usually frequent Saltie Girl so wanted to give another place a chance. Atlantic Fish was bustling for lunch! We made a reservation and had some champagne at the bar while waiting for the table. The ambiance was upscale but comfortable and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed a mix of nine oysters, the mussels with fries, and tuna tartare. Everything was delicious and we look forward to returning to try more of the menu. Will report back when we do! read more

From the moment we arrived, tired from a city walking tour, the manager, Greg, made us feel welcomed! His hospitality was then overshadowed, somehow, by our fabulous server, Brenda! She was so hospitable, and her recommendations were spot on! In fact, our food was the best that we've experienced during our visit to Boston!
