The store was clean and organized and the manager, Andrew immediately acknowledged me and asked how he could help. He took the time to answer ALL my questions and assisted me in designing a complete audio/video system for my Silverado. A couple months back we bought a hideaway kicker sub/amp combo from these guys for our Jeep. We liked that it could be easily hidden and protected from the elements. A few weeks later the sub had blown, so we took it back and they replaced it quick, no hassle. Another month later and the sub blows again. The guy showed me a better system for only a little more, doesn't charge me any install fees, and throws in some necessary wiring for the trouble. Best customer service I've seen in a hot minute. So almost 3 years ago we paid a friend to install a stereo and I had problems ever since. Today I was fed up with my crappy system because it would turn off by itself, I couldn't sync it to my phone and only one speaker worked. I went into Audio Express today telling them I wanted to buy ALL NEW EVERYTHING. The salesman Randy was amazing! He asked me why it didn't work and suggested we find out why before replacing everything! It was so considerate of him. I paid for a diagnosis instead and they got everything working! Please read the reviews here and on Other websites! I ignored them and went through hell with their customer service. I went to get an alarm system installed. After holding my vehicle all day andrew told me over the phone that they can not do it because the product is not compatible and it could be because the vehicle is new and might have a new system! We agreed that I take the vehicle and bring it back the day after so they can call the manufacturer to ask for help. When I went to pick up the vehicle Adrian from the back told the guy at the front : "charge him". I told Adrian that I don't think I should pay for something that they have not done and they are not even sure they are able to do! Andrew came out and said but you have product in your vehicle. I told him we'll take it out of you don't want me go home with whatever you have in the truck. Andrew said: " then you'll pay $130 for installation and as he was saying that I saw they pulled the vehicle to the front. I asked him why do I pay for service that I haven't got yet?! Beside it took you guys to take it out less than one minute so I wonder if you didn't even do anything. Andrew said I can not have my vehicle unless I pay. I responded then I'll call police. Andrew said: "go ahead this is not the first time this happens" you won't get your vehicle back! I called police and when they saw I am calling the police Andrew handed me the key and said by the way check your steering power since your the warning light is on! I took the vehicle next morning to the dealership and after doing a complete inspection the mechanic came to talk to me personally. He told me there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and it appears that someone tempered with the computer and left all the wires hanging. I told them the story and they agreed most likely that happened when they tried to program the alarm. Please read the reviews here and other websites. This place has the lowest rating in the town. Went in for a new stereo which the install was pretty good although there was some static they said they couldn't do anything about. But when I came in a little early to pick up my car, I heard my car's engine being revved up and down which made me extremely angry. It was one of the installers named Miguel. This is completely inappropriate and unprofessional and makes me never want to return to this specIfic location knowing at least one of their workers has no regard for other people's personal property. This is an audio store not a mechanic shop, in no possible situation should someone there be doing that, sports car or not. I would leave 0 starts if it let me. read more

This place has beyond the best customer service. So very helpful, courteous, nice and respectful. They always have Best prices with the best product. The one who helped us today were Brian, my fiance and I are so very satisfied with this expierence. I will definitely be returning to this location. They always make sure they sell u the correct product and always double check to make sure they sell you the correct product I will always refer all my family and friends and anyone else looking for products here. Thank you for providing the best customer service. We couldn't be any happier, everytime we come into this store we always have a positive expierence. I've seen some customers come in this store mad as could be and the reasoning is beyond rediculous, for example they let the customers always know when an install need to happen it's on a 1st come 1st serve basis. The store opens at 9 am and this customer comes in at 1 pm demanding they install something on his car right then and there. The store is very nice and they apologise and them know unfortunately they are unable to do so, due to the fact of the bay being full. Then the privallaged child acting adult throws a tantrum in front of everyone goes out and slams the door. About two weeks ago my girlfriends sub that is lease to own from here went out, instead of dealing with it through the leasing company they made her purchase a brand new one instead, when we tried to collect the old sub to return through the leasing company another associate had started cutting the sub a part without even asking why it was there, due to the associates incompetence we were finally issued a refund for the new sub. Bottom line: don't trust this store. Everything was drastically over priced, over powered equipment, and now the stereo in the car is malfunctioning. Stay away and take your business to Custom Auto Sound by Stereo Pad. Better prices, better customer service, and better installs. read more

Went in to get a special on a promotional stereo and back up camera listed for $250. Drove up from Benson ready to pay up to $400 total with the 1/2 off install deal. Was quoted $500 and was told they didn't have the stereo in stock. What kind of business charges double the cost for install & doesn't keep promotional products on hand? Then was told it could be even more, because the harness could cost $100 or more. WTF? Looked up the harness online and it was $15. I work on semi trucks that require a SIGNIFICANT amount of labor, yet I would NEVER rip off a customer as much as you do. I will NEVER attempt to use your company again and have told EVERYONE I talk to about the con you have going on. Way to leave a bad taste in the mouth of a potential customer for life. read more

Horrible customer service, they charge you for things they didn't need and are overpriced anyway. The $1 install is just to get you in the door as everything else seems to be more expensive than any other place. The install work is horrible, sloppy , and takes way to long. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else or learn how to do it yourself, it will probably take the same amount of time it would have taken them to install it and you probably do a better job. I had a stereo put in my Accord there about 15 years ago. From the reviews above it doesn't look like they have changed much. My impression was that the $1 deal is just to get you in there. Then, they upsell you on everything (special plate for the deck, wiring harness, etc.), which adds up quickly. I have stopped in there a few times to check out deals for my current car and customer service is really not one of their high points. I think I will buy a stereo at Walmart and install it myself - it takes the same amount of time anyway. read more

I was going to buy a system today. Looking at these reviews I think I'll pass. The upcharges and overpricing seem outrageous. Thinking of my past experiences with AUDIO EXPRESS makes me not want to also, which reading the reviews reminds me of how I've been treated here in the past. I've bought 2 stereos from them paid a little more then I should have both times. I actually had my mother buy one and AFTER it was installed her temp gage (09 Avalon) didn't work. When asked we were told that with the new stereo wouldn't work with it. Isn't that something they should have known from first seeing the car and told us? At very least they should have said it when they realized this was the case and called us so we could make that decision and have them put it back together, at NO CHARGE since they are the "professionals" and SHOULD have known to begin with! So now for the last 3+ years my mother can't 'set her temperature' with any degree of accuracy, no pun intended. Think I'll pass and go around the corner to the Specialist and pay an initial $5 extra for install ($75 to $70 listed price) and avoid the hidden fees AUDIO EXPRESS likes to play games with. I don't want to play games with how much its going to cost. Give me the price upfront and stick with it! If you are loosing money doing that get better sales personnel that know how to gage how much the work will be. read more

I didn't look into any reviews before going here but my experience wasn't too bad. I initially made a phone call and Daniel helped me. He was really nice to offer me great deals over the phone. My speakers rattle so I needed all 4 of them replaced. It took a really REALLY long time for the install but Daniel showed me the best speakers for my budget and didn't try to up sell me too much. It was expensive but I really did need new speakers. I appreciated Daniels help and dedication to really getting me exactly what I needed. Thanks! read more

Purchased a stereo for my car at 9am. I was told it would take a couple of hours so we decided to leave the car and they would call me if was done sooner. I called them at 12pm and they said they have been busy and they have not started it. I called back at 4pm and the store manager, Andrew answered the phone telling me the same exact thing as earlier. I told him I would pick up my vehicle and that I wanted a refund. He started yelling at me and that he would not give my car or a refund. I arrived at the location and dashboard was torn apart. They took another hour to complete. The manager never came out to apologize or to give an explanation. Beware! This is worst experience ever. read more

Had the worst experience with the manager, Andrew Eggleston. He was super kind when he gave me my quote. I ended up putting money down prior to the install. Went out to get it installed when he told me to only to be told they can't install my stuff on that day because of staffing. I was the first one there! I went back another day and then was told they were adding additional costs to the quote we agreed on. He never took any accountability of anything that he/they did or did not do. After 3 trips and wasted hours of waiting I left with nothing. I will never go to this store again or work with this manager! Just took my car the other day with all my audio equipment to get installed and they say it will be about 350 or so with everything come to find out I went in the next day and tried to charge me 1100 to install everything that crazy and all the charges didn't make any sense at all extra things, this place upsales everything even with own stuff, went down the street to Best Buy and I got 587 for all my gear installed and even got to sound proof everything in my car for half the price, Don't fall for the prices they are way too expensive. read more

I called to ask about a warranty for their work. They first said it is for a yr unless we paid for the extended service warranty. I explained the situation with the window not going down more than a couple of inches without cutting into the speaker. I told him we spent hundreds on 2 cars about a yr and a half ago. He said he appreciates our business and they would look at it no charge when I asked if it would cost anything. He said first come, first served. I was 3rd in line just about 9am when they opened and left the car with him. I didn't hear from them and called at 5pm. They said I was all set but didn't take the time to call me, saying they were sorry. I picked up the car and he said the screws had come loose so they tightened them really well for me. While I appreciate the fact that they fixed it for free, what an inconvenience to have my car there all day! read more

Went in to get a jvc touch screen and two 6x9 installed which i got at best buy for 329 together than thinking audio express would be cheap went to them to install and they charged me about 500 to install. Okay an when i got my car back they didnt even hook up the dvd player which on my recipt says dvd/bluetooth install and they never gave me back my lc2i which i had because of factory stereo. I had the WORST experience at Audio Express we spent over $1600 on a new stereo and amp kit, they did a HORRIBLE job installing the amp kit, the speakers kept cutting out. We took the vehicle back twice, they told us nothing was wrong when it is so EVIDENT that there is a problem! Finally spoke to a manager told us to come back and they would fix it, the sales person Josh then wanted to charge us for there mistake!!!! I will never again purchase or recommend Audio Express!!!! It's a shame that the company has this kind of person representing them. There where so many things that this guy could of done to have made a pleasant experience but choose not to!! Worst customer service I have EVER received!!! It's all about the sale and not the service. I chose to go "local" rather than thru a big box store for my car audio needs.....and this is what I get!!! I canceled my purchase due to the poor customer service and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone! When the reviews say this place is a joke you can believe them!!! There are several other local car audio stores here in Tucson and they will receive my business and my money. Seeing all these complaints about horrible customer service you would think they would address it by now, or maybe they just don't care about business or the customer. I had a simple install that turned into four trips. My speakers blew three times!! I spent hours waiting. Service was really poor and techs didnt have a clue. My father went there to get an alarm installed and all he had were issues. Skip this store and go to the one on River they fixed all the issues that the Broadway store couldn't figure out. read more

Actually not even a 1 star for this horrible experience that this company gave us. Called to make an appointment for my car alarm and installation of keyless entry 3 days before the day. They said you don't need to have appointment walk in is fine. I brought around 9am in the morning and I asked my friend to follow me because it might take long. So i asked them how long will it take this guy named miguel told us that it will be finish by 4-5 hours I also asked them if they want to check the car he said no it's fine so instead of going home we stayed at parkplace and watch movies because we live in south tucson. They called after 3 hours saying that they did not start the car yet because they only have 1 technician. So it might take the whole day so we went home. And then got a call around 5pm saying that they will not finish the car because my car is not matched with their parts.(I even asked them to check the car first and now they're saying that it needs to be check until tomorrow to get a compatible parts) so I decided to pick it up the next day and then I called them because it's noon time but i haven't receive their call. Worst customer service ever! Shout out to miguel. So basically i called them to check if they finish the car but they said i need to add 120 dollars i paid 200 some for their first quote and now they're telling me to add 120? That's ridiculous all of this inconvenience they are supposed to give a compensation. So to cut the dramas I just paid them additional 120 so i can get my car asap because I need to go to work the next day. I'm expecting that they will finish the car by saturday i drop it last friday so when we called them this miguel told us that they did not finish the job again for the third time. So i pick up the car because i gotta go to work and i was told to bring it back on wednesday so i made an appointment and miguel said that they will put it in the system. So i went back wednesday to drop it but i was told that it will take 2 hours only so me and my friend waited nearby. And they called again saying that their parts are not compatible againnnnn!!!!! So he said he wont be able to finish it. Thursday morning we called and the manager chris answered the phone he said miguel is off what the heck they don't even know that miguel did not inform us about the situation so basically chris did his best to handle it. So by thursday he finished the car and update us every hour so we know whats going on. Shout out to chris I'm giving you a full 5 star. But when we picked up the car I was expecting to hear an apology from the staff especially miguel but He just ignored us and they did not even give us any compensation with this experience. we paid 300 some and not even getting a formal apology. I have never had worse service until I went there. They claimed my car would be ready in 2 hours. I waited for 7. Secondly, I filed for their 90-day option and specifically asked if there would be interest and how much, and they claimed no. The full lease is only for the payments. Although I should've read the fine print they aren't professionals or salesmen they are just the worst. Last year I took my older Infinit to the Specialists to have an fm transmitter put in. The one they put in biased the original handsfree phone and I hated it. In late February I took my car across the street from work to AE to have transmitter removed and original phone restored. They told me no problem and it would be ready at 3. Arrived at 3 to pick up, they hadn't started. 30 minutes later they brought the car around. Charged me for an hour and a half. I was in a rush, and only drive the car two or three times a month, so didn't realize until April that the phone would not connect to bluetooth. Took it back. They looked at it and said, you are right. Then told me there was a sticker on it from the Specialists as having repaired it, and so they could not (?!), inferring the Specialists had worked on it since? although i never saw them even look up my ticket. No offer to finish the repair, no apology, no offer to anything. read more

NO STAR at all! Only one star from me because you can't put the review in without putting in at least one star !! Save your money and go down the street to the specialists. I don't even know where to start. Walked in on Saturday mid morning to just look at stereos and get pricing. The first sells men fasted talked us and showed us a few options. I went to ask him a question but he left me to talk to someone else that walked in the door. I was just about ready to walk out and then another guy came up to us saying "do you have any questions?" I said yes I do. So asked the questions I had and was taken over to the old (2017) package all in one (stereo, DVD player, screen for the back up camera, XM). Then was told if I don't have good speakers the stereo won't do the best of its ability. so then I looked at speakers. After some looking and playing with numbers the sales guy had put together A stereo, new speakers, back up camera price for us and told us we would have it by Sunday at close (5pm) if we paid and put a deposit down right now. So stupidly we did! Brought the vehicle back and dropped it off right away. Sunday received a call stating that the speakers that were sold to us we're too big and they were going to have to do custom cutting which means more for labor price. I told Them NO sell me the right size speakers and I do not want any custom cutting. We then got a small Refund of $109 back ..... The car was not done Sunday I was told it would be done on Monday. Monday I got a call stating that the camera the sales person sold us needs a bracket to be able to make the camera work properly and stick out far enough and that was going to be $110 charge. I then got upset and asked to talk to the manager. The manager Scott which I thought would be helpful acted like he was going to be helpful he "upgraded" the back up camera for the inconvenience. I got to thinking maybe I'll need an alarm for all this new stuff in my truck. So he kindly said yes we can do that for an additional fee of $130. And will wave the installation fee. And that was mid Monday-- now Tuesday I get a call about 11:30am telling me that The installation is a lot harder than the normal installation and it was going to take a few more hours than he had planned. I didn't hear from Them at all Tuesday so Wednesday at 10am (hour after they open) I call to get an update on my truck. Guess what ??? It's done... okay so no big deal right they have only had my car since Saturday and it's now mid Wednesday and I'm having to call to find out my trucks done... wish I could say the BS stopped there... well it didn't. We had told them we wanted the old deck and all the speakers back. They were not in the truck when I picked it up and I watched them scrounge around for collecting my speakers even looking in the trash and they could only find three of my speakers. I had 4+2 tweets and a deck. After doing some investigation we notice that the tweets we're not even replaced but we were charged for them. Went and talked to the manager today Thursday and was told we should let them try and do the job right. Didn't they just have my vehicle for four days to do the job right?? So not only do they have incompetent sales people that don't really look at what you need and tell you the proper things that you will need to buy to have installed, they charged for every single thing they do every single speaker they install there is an installation fee, every single thing that they touch the deck, the back up camera. When I picked up the truck the free XM was not programmed. This stereo equalizer was not even touched and I have no idea how the stereo works because they don't take the time to show me. I had parts from my interiors where the screws go missing and miss placed. Now the volume on the steering Wheel doesn't work because guess what that was another feature that is an additional charge that the salesperson failed to tell me. So with all this being said I won't stop at just taking let "them making it right" I think we deserve a refund for the installation fees and shop fees since they sold us equipment and didn't put it in, have the vehicle for extra days, and I still have to go back for them to make "things right"!! WORST EVER. Grab popcorn and put your feet up, this will take some time... A few days before Christmas I decided to buy a replacement stereo for my wife's 2010 Toyota (not an exotic car mind you). I visited an online retailer, purchase and install myself, but then unfortunately decided that I would go here (pay a little more) and save us the hassle of installing the touchscreen, etc. I should have known something was up when I walked in the shop, picked a system for ~$350 then when totaling up the dash kit, install and all the "extras" it was over $900! Talked them down to a little over $500 (still more than I expected to pay) after taking out extra Sirius radio, steering wheel controls and some crazy "no questions asked" warranty should ANYTHING go wrong... I got scheduled to install the day after Christmas, but they needed to order a dash kit. The $50 dash kit is STILL NOT IN - and it is over 3 weeks later, but that is the least of it. Initially, I was told to come in for install on December 27th, so my wife took the day off of work, I followed her to the store - only to be told when we got there that the wrong kit arrived (Matte black instead of shiny black) - they expected the right kit in that day around noon, so we figured we'd try the next day. We were promised that we'd get a call (first of MANY promised calls that never happened). Three days later I finally called and asked if the kit had arrived, they said yes, so we again showed up to install on the 30th. They took the car into the bay, I picked up my wife and literally AS WE WERE DRIVING AWAY, they called me and told me the kit was NOT in. - Apparently the kit was broken or wrong finish or something, so we leave. Now, because of work a week goes by and we try once again to get it installed. Speaking exclusively with the manager now - calling him daily (since they never call us). I get excuses like - the supplier of these kits shut down because of CES, or - they sent us two "cracked" cases so we sent them back, etc. Each time with another apology, as if I care about UPS, warehouse holiday hours or their supplier's woes... Finally I tell them on 1/8 that if they don't call ME back that day and update me - I will be asking for a refund. Hey, they called!!! This time around 5PM to tell me they do NOT have the part and hope to get it tomorrow. I say - I'll see you tomorrow. On 1/9 I am in the shop for now my 5th visit since buying the stereo and ask for my refund. The associate says he needs to talk to his manager. Leaves the counter and comes back to tell me that I still need to buy they radio but they will credit the part that didn't ever arrive. I politely decline and again as for a full refund. He tells me that I am the one who signed the "no-refund" contract but will ask the manager - I ask to speak with the manager and I am told that he is not there. I ask if I can speak with him on the phone... no. Associate disappears and returns saying they will give me the full refund. BUT the manager (who is not there) has to "Cut me a check" and will be in on 1/10... Cut me a check? - for the transaction I paid for with a card? I must come back again to the store to get it? WTF??? SO... I make my sixth (and last - ever) trip over to pick up my check. Manager sees me, prints out my invoice then goes to his office and writes me a check from some holding company account in Tempe - likely HQ, but the name doesn't say Audio Express... No, "I'm sorry about the experience" no, "I hope to someday earn your business back" and not even eye contact... I RUN to the bank and deposit. - I likely wouldn't have written this if he'd at least acknowledged the lousy experience, but I would hate to have anyone I know go through this disaster. Went in and had them install a stereo. Left with my dash broken (and glued) and it looks like a toddler put my stereo in.. didn't even tell me about the crack like I wouldn't see it and the face plate doesn't even fit over the stereo. Went back and talked to them about it and they said they couldn't do anything about it and that it's already been done. Been bringing my cars here for years and you guys just lost a customer and everyone I refer here. And on top of all this I forgot to mention the "managers" here are extremely rude and unprofessional. Kudos to your store on Broadway. Scott assisted us and was friendly and helpful. They were really busy when we walked in on Thursday, but he greeted and acknowledged us! (This is the reason we walked out of your store last year, after waiting several minutes with no one saying anything to us...) However, we had a great experience with Scott and that's what helped make the sale! They were able to install the same day and it looks professional, like it was stock for my truck, nothing broken and everything works. Went online, found what I wanted, filled out the contact info so they could contact me when they had what I wanted in stock. Hadn't heard from them by the next day. The person who took my call asked that I hold to talk to his supervisor. Brian got on the phone apoligized for not calling sooner, said he had been swamped but said he had all the necessary parts to install my system and that the install could be done in 2 hours if they weren't real busy. He suggested I come in that day. Got there about 30 minutes later, after working through the paperwork which was simple and to the point. I was told my car was first in line for next install so it would be in the stall in about 30 minutes and take 90 minutes to install. I walked in at 1135am and drove away totally satisfied at 130pm. I failed to check Yelp reviews before I decided to purchase a stereo at the Audio Express on Broadway. I wish I had cause it would have warned me of what was to come. I went in to purchase a new car stereo. Daniel was happy to up sell me from the model I wanted to one with HD Radio. Once he explained what HD Radio was, I was happy to purchase that model despite the increase in price. He assured me that the stereo I was purchasing was equip with HD Radio. The first problem was during the installation. That's when Daniel tells me that this radio needed an extra receiver to get HD Radio stations. Unfortunately, they did not have it in their shop. "Not to worry" he says, he will try to locate the part for me. After I get him to agreed to install it for free, we are good to go. After the install, Daniel and I discover that the DVD player does not work but he agrees to fix that when I come back to get the HD receiver installed. Later that week, Daniel tells me he cannot track down the part from their other stores, but all I have to do is go online and purchase it. Daniel tells me that he found himself online that afternoon. When I try to track down the receiver, there is not one to be found on the internet. I go back to the store and another salesman, Angel, confirms that he cannot find the part on the internet either. Daniel spends the next several days telling me a bunch of things that turned out to not be accurate or true. By then my confidence in Audio Express telling me the truth about anything was obviously shot. I asked Daniel to replace my old stereo and refund the money I spent on the stereo that wouldn't do want they promised. Daniel tells me he's not authorized to do that. I go back down to their location and speak with, Robert, who I am told has the authority to refund my money. Instead of doing that, Robert offers to "upgrade" me to "better" system. For the low, low price of $100, he would "eat the cost" and give me the other stereo. However, I did not want the other stereo as it did not seem to be a better looking one than I had purchased. And as I had to explain to Robert, I could no longer trust anything they promised me. I just wanted my old stereo put back in my car. Robert tells me that he could do that. However the charge for replacing my original stereo would be $70 and for just $30 more on top of that, I could have the stereo he just tried to sell me. At this point I had had enough. I told Robert that if he charges me $70 to replace my old stereo that i would sue him and once I collected my refund and the $70, I would put a link on Yelp where anyone who wanted them could get a copy of my pleadings so that they could use them to file their own law suits against this business. It was only after that discussion did Robert agree to switch back my stereo and not charge me. With their lies and unethical business ethic, I cannot believe that Audio Express has been in business for four years much less the forty they claim to be. I hope that this review and other Yelp reviews will help put this unscrupulous company out of business. read more

Let me start off by saying I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. I wanted to get my amp installed and was quoted over the phone with my car and equipment specifics. When arriving to the store I was told I needed $150 worth of wires, harnesses, adapters that was never mentioned in the initial quote. Understandable things can be hard to quote over the phone. I decided to go ahead and pay for the extras they said are needed and left my car with them for the installation, a few hours go by and I received a call saying I needed an additional $200 worth parts. They gave me the "run around" of why it's needed and the employee who rang up my sale is new and still learning. At this point I told them I didn't wish to continue with the installation, after some back N forth and being okayed by his supervisor I was able to get a full refund (even half of the labor cost that I was told was due for the the disassemble). After picking my vehicle up the first thing I noticed was a Coke can that I left in the car had numerous holes poked in it (looked like it was from a screwdriver) and soda leaked all over the cup holder. The next thing I noticed was the dash wasn't put back together properly. (It was sticking out and offset) you want me to believe you can install car systems but can't snap a dash together properly? I can't tell you if this was intentional or standard attention to detail procedures but it is a joke. Came in looking for a drop down did player for my truck. Angel was very helpful and showed me all the options. The install took a little longer than I thought but it is a first come first serve basis. My DVDs player stopped working within a week so I took it back with to get it replaced and that's what they did with no hassle. I recommend getting the extended warranty because if you don't use it, it can be used for in store credit. I will continue my business with these guys they did a great job! read more
