The injections were quick and smooth (not going to say painless because that would be lying) but if you can't have it a little pain, they have the option for a local and aesthetic. If you are dealing with back or hip pain or pain in general your body, I would highly recommend scheduling a visit through your doctor.

When Dr. Alan Silberberg walked into the consultation room, shook my hand, sat down and opened with, "I've studied your MRI images carefully, and you're in a real pickle here, buddy," I knew I'd met my doctor. He radiates intelligence the way my Dad did, and he's extremely blunt and direct and doesn't sugarcoat the facts--all the elements I need in a doctor for me to feel confident I'm in good hands. We've taken the approach of doing spinal epidurals (the same treatment that was very effective for me with the original injury), and I had my first session this week. I was face down on an operating table, so I can't visually describe what was done, but I can say that the needles weren't artlessly jammed into my lower back, they were slowly finessed into the damaged areas, and the steroid/pain killer mix was injected slowly and then with a more steady progression. The artful skill being utilized here was quite noticeable and greatly appreciated, and it clearly minimized the application pain (I chose no sedation). This doctor's impressive online CV most definitely matches his performance. Dr. Silberberg is surrounded by a top-notch staff of clinical professionals and front end office people, mostly an all-female crew. I've encountered nothing but friendly and polite helpfulness from everybody, both on the phone and in person. If they can maintain their level of excellence, friendliness and efficiency across the board, then I hope they corner the market here in Central Texas. My Dad often said, "The cream always rises to the top." Dr. Alan Silberberg and his crew have proven this to me. If you're a self-paying client like I am, this is the Go-To Team for you. I pieced it together after speaking with about a dozen people. 10 weeks after having undergone two heart procedures, my nearly deaf 93-year-old mom sets out on her own for an adventure. Her goal? The scrumptious lox bagel at Mary's Cafe. She missteps exiting the car and... kaboom! She falls and breaks her hip. She is literally across the street from St. David's Medical Center. A kind man rushes to her aid. Together, at her command, they get her BACK IN THE CAR. SHE DRIVES HERSELF ACROSS TOWN AND GOES HOME. There, she realizes that she can't get out of the car. She is half in-half out. After ten minutes, an innocent passerby in our quiet residential neighborhood hears her bleating plea and - again - at her command, helps get her back in the car, whereupon mom DRIVES HERSELF ACROSS TOWN AND BACK TO ST DAVID'S. It took three nurses and the manager of concierge services to extract her from her old beater Honda - the one with manual door locks - and it ended up in valet parking alongside the Porsches and a Ferrari. Mom would go on to have a nine inch nail inserted in her hip and spend two weeks at St. David's, one week in the Medical Center and one week in St. David's Rehabilitatiom Hospital. Here she was treated with dignity and compassion by every single person we encountered. And there were tons of them. Every effort was made to make her feel comfortable. Cozy even. The staff made her laugh. Encouraged her. Listened carefully to every word she said. Her in-house doctors watched over so thoughtfully. The physical and occupational therapists helped her to understand that she *could* meet her goal of regaining her independence. Yes, there were times when a nurse promised to bring her something and then forgot, but really, things couldn't have gone better. The food? Not too shabby, and if you are a visitor, there are alternating pop up caterers for things like sushi, Indian and Mexican food, every week day. Parking? Free if you're over 65. Just scan your driver's license instead of your parking stub. And my mom's old beater Honda rubbing shoulders with the glamor cars in Valet? I drove it out myself... free of charge.

Be extremely cautious and careful when getting anything done in this hospital. While my surgery was…read morea success, I was not provided proper pain relief medication at my doctor's recommendation for nearly 12 hours post surgery. The order was in, but the staff simply was not available to provide the drip install. Also, pay close attention to your bill. While my surgeon and the hospital were in-network, they selected to use an out-of-network componenet to my care. I was not told about this and was billed out of network while staying in the hospital for that part. Thank god for the No Surprises Act, making the charges only $700 vs the thousands of additional dollars in the bill. But I was not told about this until more than a year later. So even though my surgery took me well over my more than $5,000 max out of pocket, I now have to pay an additional $700. Add into that... I was sent a letter so much later that I can't even appeal it with my insurance. Extrmely shady practice. Very disappointed and would not recommend this hospital.

Many from the Oakwood surgery center claimed to not know how to find this out. Until I talked to the older lady at the front. She knew a little about how you can request someone. I called and called and no one got back to me until the day before the surgery. But I did some research of my own and found the Austin Anesthiology Group supplied the Oakwood surgery center. I was most impressed by the backgrounds of doctors Orth, Eddings and Patel. Well at of these only Eddings was willing to make it. So the day of surgery I am in the hospital bed and I had a panic attack because the young nurse kept talking about complications like bleeding, blood vessel damage. Suddenly my blood pressure drops and I am covered in sweat. Just then Dr. Eddings comes in and I thank him for making it and he's like of course. He doesn't draw attention to my condition and just winks at my husband and says after we interview you i've got the good stuff in my pocket-that will make you not even care about any of this. I remember thinking that's impossible. Another impressing thing was that he remembered all of my prep interview that I filled out online and doubled checked with me about the important items. Then sure enough after I was given "the good stuff" I felt good enough to put all my trust in my doctors and announce that they would surely do their best and that I would see them later. I was put in the OR and the general "stuff" burned like hell. Dr. Eddings very professionally said, we will help you with that. What he meant was you'll be out in a few seconds but he chose to not draw attention to the fact that I would soon be under the knife but instead comforted me with what words he chose to use. Very, very skilled professional! He was also reasonable about the amount to pain meds and the type and made sure my husband got them to me exactly 5 hours after surgery. I've had surgery before and trust me-you NEVER want to feel ALL of that post surgery pain. I can't say enough about this doctor!!! I would trust him with my life and the life of my loved ones over and over! 8D

Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

The only negative was that I could end up waiting for a really long time--almost an hour until I finally saw Dr. White for my post-op. I considered four stars for that reason but decided I didn't want people to see a lower rating and think it was due to Dr. White's skill. To make a long story short - I was in Cardiac ICU in the summer of 2021. I started out at St. David's South Austin, and then was transferred to Ascension Seton Main. I was in the hospital from June 19th (Father's Day -0 until July 5th). I was being financially responsible. I had a health insurance policy with US Health / Freedom Life that was over $800 / month (not affordable!) However, once admitted with a life-threatening diagnosis of Chronic Systolic Heart Failure, I learned that my insurance was basically worthless. I had three spinal injections done and i was in and out so fast. I could not believe the results. It is strange not to have pain in those particular spots . And the procedure is not as bad as it may sound.

I have been a patient of Dr. White's for a little over a year. Before today, I had a good opinion…read moreof him. He's never on time and talks too much but there are worse flaws. I went in today for my monthly follow up appointment. I had had a neck surgery last week which turned out to be extremely painful. I had been in the office the day after the surgery to receive some stronger medication while I healed. Today Dr. White walked in and I couldn't believe what followed. I had waited patiently for over an hour to see him. Then he finally came in and he was extremely agitated. So much so that he was shaking and pacing around the room. I started trying to tell him why I was requesting to see him instead of his PA this visit. He started cutting me off while I was talking, responding very rudely to what I was saying. Then he seemed to lose patience and launched into what turned out to be a 5 minute long assault on me and my character. He told me that I was a liar and a drug addict. He told me that I was obsessed with pain medication. When I tried to respond, surprised but calmly, he swore at me and told me he didn't care what I had to say. He cited early refills and multiple ER visits. When I tried to point out that I had never gone to the ER unless directed to do so by his office, I was again cut off and not allowed to speak. He continued on in a manner that I can only think to describe as cruel and abusive. I was cut off and shut down everytime I tried to speak or ask a question. This went on for almost 5 minutes and he ended by saying that I was to see their addiction specialist to be placed on Suboxone. Then he walked out. I was so shocked by his behavior that I just walked out without a word. To be clear, this is not about the accusation that I was addicted to pain medication. I have been on pain meds for a long time and Dr. White had some valid points. This is entirely about the way he handled it, the way I was treated. He was overly aggressive, too loud, he called me a liar and a drug addict repeatedly, he swore at me and kept cutting me off by telling me he "didn't give a damn" how I was feeling. I believe his attitude and his rant at me fall into the category of abusive. I felt so degraded and embarrassed by the time I left. Not to mention he has left me with only two days of medication left, shortly following a very painful neck surgery. I filed a complaint with Advanced Pain Care and may file one with the Texas Medical Board. What happened to me in that office today was not okay. I will never step foot into that facility again. Update: I spoke to the practice manager at Advanced Pain Care. According to her, the nurse in the room contradicted my complaints. She said the doctor was "stern" with me and never swore. While it's true he didn't cuss me out or anything, he did say "I don't give a damn what you feel about....". I felt it was inappropriate and unprofessional. As far as him being stern, that is a gross understatement. Apparently Dr. White expressed that he was only trying to help me. Well Dr. White, if you feel that's true then I'd like you to know that you have an *awful* way of showing it.
