So your buying experience may be pleasant, as ours was some years ago, but subsequent customer care is frustratingly slow. I have been going to this Subaru location for years and have always had an incredibly positive experience. The service team is fantastic and always goes above and beyond. As a young woman I don't know very much about cars and I am never made to feel stupid and the prices are incredibly fair. I never feel like I am getting ripped off. I recently worked with the design department to get a trailer hitch installed on my car and I had a great experience with Hector. He was polite and found answers to my questions even if he did not know the answers himself. On the other hand, Brianna could use some lessons from Hector and the service department. When I was first trying to book an appointment she was incredibly hard to get a hold of. She was rude to me over the phone when I told her I did not have my VIN number on hand as I was at work and wasn't able to walk down to my car. She was incredibly condescending when I asked questions and made me feel like an idiot for not knowing the ins and outs of a trailer hitch installation. I dropped my car off in the morning and was told she would be sending me a payment link once the installation was complete. I never received the link. Once it was time to pay I was taken to her and was told she sent me the link. When I said I hadn't gotten it she said she did not have time for me and stormed off. Hector had to run around the dealership and find someone else to take my payment. I recently upgraded and purchased a 2020 Outback and every person I have encountered has been extremely nice and welcoming. My sales gal Diana was amazing and didn't try to put me in a car I couldn't afford. While I was at the dealership for 4+ hours I really appreciated all of the work she did to get me an awesome deal. Also, who isn't at a dealership for a long time? Morgan Roberts, my delivery specialist, was spectacular and was able to teach me all the new bells and whistles on my new car, and he also helped me out when one of my tires had a side wall blown and I needed to buy a new tire. This is a repeat review for a great experience we had w/ Isaac Gray @ Roger Beasley Mazda in mid July 2009: I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have a 5-star experience @ a car dealership, but we had a very good new-car-buying experience @ Beasley Mazda thanks to the hard work and perseverance of a Sales Consultant named Isaac Gray. I tagged along w/ my friend for support, she was looking to test drive a 2009 Mazda Tribute V6 Grand Touring (i.e. Ford Escape w/ bells + whistles). She had been shopping around for a while and had narrowed her choices down to a '09 Toyota Rav 4 or '09 Honda CRV, so we expected Mazda to be a distant 3rd. Isaac came out to greet us in the 105 degree weather as we were strategizing over the research papers on vehicle comparison from http://www.Edmunds.com. Isaac could not find the exact model in stock (it's apparently popular), so in usual car salesman fashion he brings out a different model - an '09 Tribute Hybrid Grand Touring FWD (which was a Corporate Vehicle) w/ 5K miles on it and told us to take it for a spin. The drive around town went extremely well, it had very good acceleration and punch for a 4cylinder, leather seats, Sirius radio, and gets 32 mpg! But there was one drawback - it was light blue. "I don't like this color, I'll never buy a light blue car" she said. Well - so we thought - but I guess you should never say never...right? Isaac let's us know he's highly motivated to sell this SUV to her - - he admits that he's one car away from his bonus and today was his last chance, so he plans to give us a "crazy deal". We both started to feel bad for him, after all, it was 1hr until closing and she had no inclinations on making an impulse buy. Nevertheless we decided to hear him out and started to engage in that game called "negotiation". He speaks to his manager and comes out with a slew of calculations. What's going against him is that this Hybrid SUV is not eligible for the "Cash For Clunkers" Government Program or any cash-back incentives offered on new vehicles as well - - and it's light blue. So we spend nearly 4 hrs there, including 2 hrs after closing time, and even though it was a back and forth game on pricing, Isaac was very straight-forward and upfront, and did his best to meet her needs. I was direct with him and he took it well, and in the end he agreed to an offer that she just couldn't refuse - especially on a 32mpg Hybrid SUV. We were a bit shocked since we never anticipated this visit would result in a brand new purchase...I mean, after all, someone did say she would never buy a light blue car. Dealing with Isaac was what made this a pleasant experience. He wasn't mentally draining, was very talkative, friendly, ethical and honest. Car buying is a game - they want to make the most while you want to pay the least, and even though he couldn't show all of his cards, it was the probably the best new car buying experiences I've ever had. So if you're in the market for a Mazda, and you want to deal with a salesman who's got good intentions, I'd say your best bet is to see Isaac Gray @ Beasley Mazda. I dropped off my car, went inside and ordered coffee at their cafe. My service rep, Adam, came over to let me know what they'd be working on and explained the details. His calm demeanor and professionalism made me feel at ease. The seating arrangements were plentiful and tailored around customers who have to work. Free WiFi to even private seating areas to focus on work, I was impressed. I stepped out to walk my dog a bit, Adam texted me to let me know the service was done. Did not have a positive (attempted) buying experience this week. I went in to check out an Outback: set an appointment, arrived and met with the gentleman assigned to me. We headed to the lot and initially walked right by the car I had both inquired about via USAA's Truecar tool and emailed with them about a recall for the vehicle, to the more expensive Impreza. First small flag. The emails were not sent for fun but to speed of the process and get clarity. Also, I had to ask a few times about the recall question. Perhaps something to cover right off the bat, generally, and because I explicitly said (in an email) safety is particularly important to us since we have a baby. Small flag number two. Go for a drive, all is good, decide to hop in the seat and see how good the USAA thing works and price comes back inline with our research - awesome. No need to haggle. Paperwork starts. Notice two individuals behind me waiting, salesman goes over says hi and they talk about whatever and I make nothing of it. More paperwork, get to financing and ask if they can beat my rate. We're almost 2 hours into at this point. Gentleman says I think so and heads to the back. Comes back, after this entire process from intros to test drive to paperwork, and says "ummm well sorry, there was a deposit put on this car and it's not available.....it's the people right behind you" (the same people he talked to earlier and are seated literally right behind me). In my head, lots and lots of cuss words but keep it cool outwardly. Third giant red flag. Of course, then says we have another similar one, that costs more..... Disappointed to say the least. Wasted my time, was not 100% upfront with me, perhaps check if a car is in progress before doing anything with it?, which just reinforced the whole car salesman stereotype, clearly either didn't share info from email to salesman or didn't care to (more wasting time). read more

They like to repeat the same service over to find a problem even when they say everything is fine and the problem persists. I was told my car passed the oil consumption test however after approx 775 miles it consumer another quart of oil!! I was told to do another oil consumption test. Why? I am filing a BB complaint and having to get a lawyer. I am just shocked. Please do not deal with these people or buy a Subaru. My car has 68775 miles, not much for this to happen. read more

I have purchased two vehicles from this dealership as well as my daughter purchasing one and while the sales department is just as good as any other car salesman would be, the service department really needs to get their stuff together... Every time I have taken my vehicle in for service, the second they give you a loaner it feels like they just park your vehicle in the back and forget about it. This is happened to me multiple times with multiple vehicles so it is obviously not just a staffing issue! Here's my most recent visit... 1 - scheduled an appointment and explained to them that I needed an SUV loaner because I have no Cartlidge in either of my knees and I cannot get out of those tiny cars on the ground 2 - arrived with my vehicle at the agreed-upon time to find that they only had a tiny car available as a loaner... so I took it 3 - after driving said loaner for a few hours, I called and explained that my knee literally cannot get me out of this vehicle 4 - They magically had a few to choose from so I drove an hour back there to swap it out 5 - wait 2.5 weeks with no updates 6 - called and explained I needed to go out of town so I needed permission to take the loaner 7 - received a call... good news, ma'am... your car is ready 8 - arrive to find that the job had not been done... 9 - found that they broke part of my car by shoving a tire into the back rather than lifting it and placing it in 10 - realized that they likely parked my car and forgot about it until I called about needing to go out of town 11 - was promised that someone would call when they got the part in 12 - emailed service manager to o ask that someone take this seriously (never received a reply) 13 - called them to schedule a loaner again so that I could actually get my car fixed.. because I live over an hour away, was told that they would deliver me an suv on Tuesday the 26th 14. They forgot to set one aside for me and they were all gone before someone got around to bringing me one 15. Checked in a few times and still nothing 16. Sunday the 31st... I called again, explaining that I have taken everything out of my car on Tuesday so that I would be ready for the loaner 17. I have been a loyal Toyota customer since I had my driver's permit at 16. My whole family are Toyota people, and I was already eyeing another Toyota when my significant other (SO) and I were car shopping. My SO's family are loyal Subaru owners and swear by it. So how come I'm writing a review for Subaru? Let me tell you: STEVE CARTER. My SO decided to trade his 2003 Outback and we were lucky enough to meet with Steve. Immediately I get Willie Nelson vibes (btw I'm so sorry Steve if that's offensive because let's be honest I have no idea who Willie Nelson is I only know OF him because I live in Austin). But he reminds me of a cool rockstar dad. So we get our trade-in value and instead of trying to rush us in and out like I normally feel salespeople do, Steve sits us down and just talks to us like a cool uncle. "You could trade it in, but you'll probably get more just putting on facebook or craigslist. You could double the amount your getting here." He proceeds to then give us tips on what to do, where do meet buyers, and how to avoid getting robbed from strangers. I definitely appreciated that haha. Then he asks me, since I disclosed that I was a loyal Toyota consumer, what I would like to know about Subaru car options. I told him we were entertaining the idea of a Forrester vs an Outback, but had no idea otherwise. He turns to the computer, plugs a couple things in, and then we're out the door to test drive both of them to give me a better idea while explaining different pros and cons of each car. Once I figure out I like the Outback (as I am a sedan driver my whole life) we look at a couple used options. He never ever makes a pushy sale, and the whole time I feel like I'm hanging out with my car friends who are just passionate about their vehicles. He tells us to consider selling the car, let him know if we decide to trade in instead, and then we go our merry way. I walk out not feeling like that person who went inside a Louis Vuitton store to window shop. I feel like a valued customer with options. We sell the car, just as Steve predicted, for double our trade in value. We then see that Subaru is offering a pandemic deal of 63 months of 0% APR on the new 2020 Outbacks. Guess who I called? Yep. But they didn't have the color I wanted! Steve calls back; no problem, we'll dealer trade if you really want the color of your choice. Steve pulls strings. Calls me a day later to say they've found the car of choice and was able to get it to me within 2 days. We leave with a sexy looking car with the best safety ratings. My SO is happy as a button and I'm secretly trying to figure out how to explain to my Toyota family that my eye wandered. What? You can't beat the pandemic deal and you certainly don't forget how you were treated at the dealership. You're obviously at the Subaru dealership to look at their cars because you have an interest, why not also find someone who's not here to take advantage of you, be pushy, or make you feel bad for your preferences? Hit up Steve Carter. I promise you'll enjoy speaking with him, learning from him, and if you're lucky you'll get to see his travel photobooks because they are pretty sweet. Oh and he plays in a band. Overall I would say this is a great place to buy a new/used car but I would never go here to trade-in a car. We worked with Misty and she was awesome! However, when we tried trading in our car, the sales manager would factor in the Texas sales tax rebate into the amount they were willing to give. (Example: they give you 20k but in reality it's 18k with 2k in tax rebate). The dealer DOES NOT PAY this tax rebate.. nothing comes out of their pocket for this. So effectively they are trying to use that rebate the state provides to give you even less for your trade-in. DON'T FALL FOR THIS. My opinion is that this is a very shady tactic to take advantage of people who don't know better. So because of this, I highly recommend not going here with your trade-in. read more

We had to go twice over a couple of days, and each time, it felt like a really casual and stress-free experience. I've been screwed by other dealerships in the past, but I did feel as if Austin Subaru was different. People generally seemed happy, which is weird for a car dealership of any kind. The facility is first class (cafe with free coffee and drinks) but Dean and the rest of the team is the reason I would send my parents there. I went on Saturday to have a 30k service done on my 2017 Outback. They charged me $900! There were no repairs done. Just fluid changes and lots of "check" and "inspect" items on the punch list. $459 for labor and another $400 for parts. This job could not have taken more than two and a half /three hours . That makes labor about $150 an hour! No quote was given before the work began. In hindsight the I should have gotten a firm price but never in my wildest imagenings did I think it would be such an outrageous amount. When I spoke to a manager today he told me about all the money Subaru spends to train their mechanics and how all of their expertise was needed to inspect tires and checking that the light over my license plate was on. I am a mechanic and know that these are tasks that that are done daily. $150 an hour for a job that these mechanics can do by rote. Anyway, if you'd like to be separated from your money go here. Enjoy the blank stares you'll get when you protest. We own two Subaru's but this experience has put such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't ever buy another. read more

I'm now on my second Subaru (WRX first, now an Outback) that I've leased from Austin Subaru. A big reason for remaining with Subaru is the people that I've worked with there. I feel like I'm always treated like a valued customer, and even the people who I'm not specifically working with will go out of their way to say hi and ensure I have everything I (and my dog!) need. The sales team has been very helpful in my experiences there. Jay Hall helped make it a no-brainer for me to go with the Outback. He was willing to work with me to get to an agreeable price, after hours on a Saturday, far exceeding my expectations that I've typically associated with sales elsewhere. Service has always been great, too. I've routinely worked with Jonathan Sosa, and I've appreciated his courtesy as well as explanations of service each time I've had to go in. Also worth noting the great Subaru warranty, as well as Austin Subaru's first 2 years of scheduled maintenance coverage - great things to consider when thinking about the total cost of ownership of a vehicle. And finally, how could I forget the Delivery Specialists?! I love that Subaru does this: once you get your car, you get a special 1:1 session with someone who will walk you through every little in and out of your car to make sure you know all the features, how to use them, how NOT to use them, and more. Morgan Roberts, who originally sold me my WRX, took me through everything on my new Outback. I like to think I understood my car pretty well, but he helped show me just how awesome my car actually is. They don't enforce wearing a mask in the waiting area. There is only one lane to drop off your car for servicing. As a result, people stack up, some just rudely leaving their car in front of yours but not pulled all the way up, leaving you sitting there for 10+ minutes until someone finally notices you. They didn't top off the most basic fluids during the service I waited 1.5 hours for, including the washer and coolant fluids. No car wash either, which they do every trip at Sewell Subaru in Dallas. read more

Took my car in for the airbag replacement and, without me asking them to do so, they sent me a giant click-through list of thousands of dollars of repairs that they rated from dire to upcoming. Basically made it sound like my car was going to explode if I drove it another 5 miles. Really?
