I really needed help with my license plate and was hoping someone at AutoZone could leave me in the right direction. My license plate was popping off and I was afraid it was going to fall off on the road. Luckily Andy was on duty and helped me secure the license plate by screwing it in correctly. I placed an online order yesterday and paid extra for same day delivery. Well, my order hasn't arrived, nor have I received an update with new delivery time. While at the register, I had the clerk cancel my online order that was supposed to be delivered yesterday, and I have the receipt showing the cancellation. I don't remember when I've given a 1 star. Maybe never. But this one deserves it. I go there late on Friday night cos my car wouldn't start and I had to jump it. Auto zone says they'll test the battery and replace it, and they're open late, so I don't have a choice and head there. I walk in and there's no one at the counter, but I hear some laughs and voices behind the wall. So I holler to say me and another customer are waiting. A kid leans out the opening and looks annoyed, and sort of gestures he'll be there. Another 5 mins of voices and laughter before he finally comes out. I explain my problem so he takes his test machine to test the battery, all the time looking like he really didn't wanna be bothered. After a couple of tests he says it's not my battery but my alternator! I find that hard to believe but he insists. He says they don't have it in stock and can't help me. He basically wants to get rid of me. I go home and the next day I jump the car again and take it to my regular mechanic. He tests and says it is the battery, replaces it for about the same price Auto Zone would've charged, and it works fine. So I totally wasted my night to jump my car and take it to Auto Zone, get a wrong diagnosis and have a kid who'd rather be playing video games or smoking up a storm. Avoid at all costs! read more

I walk in the store they never greet me or say welcome in but as soon as a person who is not black walks in the store, they all say welcome in. I ordered something online so I could get curbside yesterday evening. I received the email that product was ready. When I pulled up, I noticed no marked designated area for curbside. I called the number, rang 6 times when employee answered not doing greeting simply blurted out "placing you on hold". I decided to walk in and once scanned the area looking for online pickup. Formed myself in line 3 person and all this while I'm still on hold. After waiting 10 minutes, it's finally my turn. Young man did not greet me, did not apologize for the inconvenience since why offer a service and not fulfill it. I proceeded to show him the email with bar code which he replied I don't need it. As I arrived and departing I noticed 2 AutoZone employees installing or using tools and never knew they operated as mechanic on their lot, always thought you had to go across the street to PepBoys or down the street to Goodyear. It would of been in the best interest for these employees to help out in the store to knock out the revolving door of customers. read more

Autozone in San Leandro closes at 10(other stores close at 9)! It's awesome to be able to complete an errand late at night! We came in to purchase wiper blades and front light bulb for our 2007 Honda Civic. We asked if they install and good news... they do! Daniel Ramirez was super helpful! We came in at 9 and there were a lot of clients but he had no hesitation with helping us! The wiper blade were a piece of cake, but the headlights for a Honda Civic are really difficult to install! Autozone opened a few weeks ago. they are next to Flyers gas and across from Pep Boys. the aisles are clearly labeled. found my light bulb replacement within minutes. the clerk rechecked my bulb and said i get the next one over. (they all look alike). buys: sylvania long life bulb, 2 pk (4.99) -it fitted. eureka! note: -all the clerks/cashiers were hispanics -very friendly, industrious workstaff. -large parking lot -would return for other supplies as needed. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Talked to a older south east asian guy. Who was clearly new but didn't say anything about sorry for not having a part that says it was in stock. I was Looking for a 1999 Toyota Camry idle control valve. I had another shop call them from Oakland and they said they had it in stock. Then when I get there it says it's there and you take 25 minutes trying to find it. I mean this guy didn't even get the manager to look for it. I offered him lunch money but he would not have any of it!! This has been the second time I've asked for help for the same issue & both occasions, they did so with a cheery disposition.
