It's great for a quick brunch run! The place is very small so we ate outside with the family. I built my own lox sandwich on everything bagel sandwich. You can never go wrong with this choice. It's always delicious!! The green house salad is also fresh. I added the chicken but it wasn't grilled chicken, it was sandwich deli chicken cut up into smaller pieces. I was a little surprised with this option because usually the chicken is grilled or rotisserie. I am trying to stay away from deli meat. Also we added the breakfast burrito. It's not so greasy which I like. Other additions was the sunrise smoothie which splashed all over the ground since my son spilled it. My first time here. It's a hidden gem. Tucked away in a residential area. Very beautiful setting. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for social distancing. The staff is warm and welcoming, especially the owner, Mark. I ordered the Avocado Chicken Salad and ice coffee which they made fresh for me on the spot. I appreciate the care that went into this. When placed against another option for that day, I usually selected this spot because of it's consistency and delicious, healthy salads. Avo Classic (salad) - Tuna, avocado, greens, cucumber, sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, cheese & sunflower seeds. This item is one of my favorites because of the nice mix of fresh greens and tuna, which serves as a good protein alongside it. I usually select Italian as my dressing of choice. It isn't overly oily and nicely balanced. The tuna is always consistent and has never been smelly. Albacore stuffed Avocado (salad) - Tuna stuffed into an avocado shell, tomato, sprouts, jack cheese and spring mix. The albacore stuffed avocado in this salad is no joke. They actually cut an avocado open and stuff tuna salad into the middle. Personally, the only thing I'd remove or ask less of is the cheese. But otherwise, if you are hungry and are craving a salad, this is worth the try! I've tried and enjoyed a few of their sandwiches including BLTA and tuna. But with how filling and appetizing the salads are, I typically stick to those. For the price and quality, Avocado Cafe is a great value and worth the try! read more

I had wanted to get some crepes on the way home after dropping off a family member at the hospital only to find the business was closed on Wednesdays when I was about to input the directions. I had to come up with an alternative so I looked at my saved businesses for takeout in Irvine and decided to go with Avocado Cafe. It was already 83 degrees and the Avo Classic Salad and Tower 9 Sandwich appealed to me. I also liked the business practice of "making everything fresh" and the owner "treating his customers like family". I called in my order before my 12 minutes drive over. The man that answered the phone said that the order would be ready for me and to give them 10 minutes or so. It was difficult to find parking out front. The 10 minutes parking space for pickup of takeout opened up and I was able to park after coming around a second time. My order was ready and after paying I was good to go. Both items were nicely packed with napkins and forks. I don't really like chicken salad, but loved it in the Tower 9 sandwich. The pepper Jack cheese gives the right amount of kick. I never can get enough sprouts. Cucumber chunks are refreshing. Tomato slices were firm and sweet. I liked the mustard as extra dressing. It was an excellent sandwich accompanied by what I think were kettle chips. I don't eat tuna much either, but I really liked it in the salad with the avocado, greens, cucumber, sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, cheese, and sunflower seeds. There really is a difference when you eat fresh, high quality food. Husband came downstairs from his morning meeting to have a quarter of the Tower 9 and some of the Avo Classic salad. The sandwich and salad were enough for us to split 4 ways. He was totally satisfied and said that the food was "fresh". He had to look up where the good, healthy food came from. Excellent little jewel restaurant! Found this place on yelp and tried it a few times and always satisfied. It is located in Plaza Irvine on Campus & Jamboree. Parking might be difficult if you come during busy hours, since there's only about 10 parking spots in front of the building, and it shares it with other shops next door. But I never had an issue; there's always 1-2 spots left, just might not be right in front of the store. The Avo toast is amazing. Loaded w avocado on wheat crispy toast, coupled w sprouts, tomatoes and 2 pouched eggs, the taste is heavenly. Not to mention how healthy this is. The side of watermelons that comes with it also makes you a little more hydrated. Staff is always friendly. They deliver the food to your table and the wait time is usually less than 10min. One of the guys here, I think his name was Mark--could possibly be the nicest and most polite guy in the world. Definitely top 10 at least. We were in town for my daughter's team's tournament. We come down early February almost every year. So it's Sunday morning in February and she's hungry. She woke up super hungry but the hotel's restaurant's menu doesn't appeal to her. She doesn't eat meat and prefers savory breakfast. We hop on our phones and we found a few places nearby but they're all still closed. She squeals with joy when she found a place called "Avocado Cafe" nearby that is open - it's now around 10am. She loves everything avocado so this is the perfect place for her. We drive over and for me, it was a little hard to find. It's on the street level in the middle of towering condo buildings. Parking was super easy and free right out front, maybe because it was a Sunday morning. Inside is small-ish but clean and well decorated. I remember seeing some college aged kids having coffee and someone else waiting for their take out. My daughter ordered some kind of avocado toast. We got it to go. They were fast and efficient. I can't remember what kind of avocado toast she had but she loved it and was really happy. There were several bread options. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Irvine! read more
