The ambiance makes it a great place to chat in a lovely setting. The Service is my biggest gripe. I went to Aziza, with a reservation for one at the bar, at 8pm on a Wednesday night. I'm glad I had the reservation as all the tables looked full for dinner on a weekday. There's big windows to the dining area, but as the sun had just set the interior was dimly lit and the overall restaurant gave off a calm vibe. I got The Bird Cage to drink. Fruity, sparkly sweet and I'm glad I got a meal which went well with how sweet it was. To start, I got Jane's Miche Bread, which was a mistake for a solo diner. This thing was big! There were five hefty slices of bread and it became an ordeal to get through it all on my own. Best to split this with a couple other friends. Both the bread and the butter were okay. I probably wouldn't get this again if I came here as it felt like it just filled me up and wasn't really worth being a part of my dinner. For my main, I got the Salmon. It came with a tangy sauce and a milder one which I couldn't quite place. The grapes and yuzu both added nice brightness to the dish and went well with the fish. The staff here seemed to be fairly scarce. I luckily was seated at the bar and could more readily flag down the bartender, but service was slow or non-existent and I felt I had to be more aggressive in flagging people down compared to the more sedate vibes of Aziza. I ended up taking over two hours solo dining just because dishes came out at a snail's pace.

5*s just for the pancakes. Best I ever ate. Now onto everything else....... ***Ambiance: minimalist Moroccan style decor. Loved the large tree in the center, Moroccan style tiles, white walls, black roof, white and black images of horses, and the simple yet solid furniture. ***service: kind of slow but we didn't mind, our waiter was very patient and went through almost all items on the menu describing them in detail. ***Food: not all items were amazing but I tend to rate a place very high if they serve atleast one dish which was mind blowing. In this case it was the pancakes. *pancakes- 5/5- the kind that breaks if you try to lift it off the plate, the kind with more aeration than physically possible, the kind that I didn't believe existed! lol, they were really good. Easily the best I ever ate. I am not a pancake fan but these were fluffy clouds of heaven and with the lemon honey, it was a match made in heaven. *shakshuka-3.5/5- they used chickpeas as the base instead of the regular tomato sauce. It was similar to an Indian style chickpeas curry topped with two egg yellows. *avocado toast-4.5/5- this was the most beautiful avocado toast I laid my eyes on. It was served atop their house made bread. It was hearty and rustic studded with a variety of seeds. The avocado toast was topped with some flower petals and greens and was truly beautiful to look at. *shrimp and grits-4/5- the shrimp was beautifully cooked and had a wonderful char. The grits had a slightly grainy texture. *burrata-4/5- this was another work of art. The cheese came with some tomato jam which was slightly sweet and had an interesting flavor. This came with a slice of the same bread as the avocado toast.

Back again to one of our favorite date spots! Mussels are 10/10 for us always. The cauliflower so perfectly spiced and crispy but not too hard. The lamb shank also became one of our new favorites, tender, juicy, and flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Always leaving Aziza with a very happy stomach.

Grilled Prawns (w red charmoula, harissa, polenta, garlic) - brunch menu

Came back again for a weekend lunch, but I didn't realize until we sat down that Aziza has a weekend brunch/lunch menu that's quite different and more limited than the dinner menu. Lunch was overall solid/tasty, but I don't know if I'd return specifically for the brunch/lunch menu. We tried everything that we wanted to on the menu and didn't feel like we needed to get anything in particular again. I had really been looking forward to getting the cornbread again, but alas it's a dinner-only item - I'll have to come back again for dinner next time! --- FOOD // in the order we got the dishes: + Burrata (w tomato jam, dukkah, olive oil, toast): yummy, I wish there was more on the plate and more than just one slice of bread! + Eggs Benedict (w smoked salmon, herb jam, moroccanaise, potatoes, lettuce): *favorite dish of the brunch* - the eggs benedict was delicious! Very crispy, well-seasoned potatoes on the side. + Shakshuka (w chickpeas, pickled beans, lebni, jidori egg yolk, grilled bread): I enjoyed this more than the dinner shakshuka version, as it tasted more balanced. + Grilled Prawns (w red charmoula, harissa, polenta, garlic) + Beghrir pancakes (w honey butter, citrus honey, bee pollen): first time trying this kind of spongy pancake. It was quite sweet - definitely split it with others! + Custard French toast (w huckleberries, coriander mascarpone, pistachio cream): more on the tart side compared to the pancakes, due to the huckleberries. Good but I would've loved more mascarpone & pistachio cream to balance out the tartness.

Aziza I freaking love you. The octopus salad has become one of my death row meals. I will never stop taking people here !

The basteeya is really heavy, sweet, salty, oily, dense at the same time. I didn't feel great after eating a couple bites. All the food was really heavy and expensive if you want to try multiple things Would be cute if you were on a work dinner or someone else was paying otherwise the prices felt steep for the quality of service, they took a while to box our food would have preferred to box it ourselves so we can leave sooner

Was there with a couple of friends I hadn't seen in a while. Had the Piquillo & Almond spread with flatbread (delicious!), the mussels (a bit on the salty side but goes really well with the bread), octopus (yummy), the branzino (fantastic!), the short rib (decadent), and the corn bread (omg!). Service, even though it was busy, was overall great. And the restaurant was clean with nice lines. Will definitely have to go back and try the chicken and other plates.

We had a very nice dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. We opted for a soup and four small plates to share. It was perfect and we had some leftovers. - chilled corn soup 5 stars. Love the presentation and the taste. I wasn't sure I would like it from the description but it was Excellent - burrata with kiwi salad. 5 stars. Love the presentation and flavor combo. Perfect with the served rustic bread slide - charred prawns 3 stars for prawns and 5 stars for the sauce. The prawns is a bit overcooked but the sauce really made up for it. We soaked it all up with our left over bread slice - mussels. Good flavor 4 stars. Although quite small and pricey. It was like $24 for 6 mussels. Sauce though was really good. Feels like a charred oyster recipe applied to mussels just too pricey - beef tartare. It was served on top of cooked cabbage it seems. This was just okay We finished with a yuzu custard. Divine. Perfect palate cleanser. Our server also was good to recommend we stay with the small plate if we are not too hungry. So glad we did as we still didn't finish.

We recently visited this restaurant and appreciated the creativity the chef brought to the dishes. The food was unique and clearly inspired by Moroccan cuisine, though it felt more like a modern fusion interpretation rather than a truly authentic Moroccan experience. The service, unfortunately, was quite slow -- we waited about an hour and fifteen minutes for our food, which made the evening feel longer than expected. I also hoped for more authenticity in the ambiance. Even small touches, like traditional Arabic or Moroccan music, could have helped create a warmer cultural atmosphere. Overall, there is definitely creativity and potential here, especially if you enjoy chefs adding their own twist to classic dishes. Hoping the restaurant continues refining both the dining experience and the service.

Food - rich, tasty, heavy. Service - fine. Ambiance - we were seated in the back room, which didn't quite have the same vibe as the main room. It is more intimate, but it felt like being tucked away in a forgotten corner. Might be fine for a date, but if you're looking forward to dining in the main room, best to let them know your preference when making a reservation. The highlight of the meal was probably the trio of spreads, although the chicken basteeya was good, too.

    $18 cornbread

While the dishes here are unique, the service left a lot to be desired. After receiving our appetizers, we had a long hour wait before finally receiving our entree. As a result, the entire meal lasted more than 2 hours which is quite long for a non-set menu/a la carte dining location. We never received any warning about the wait and only learned the kitchen was backed up because we overheard the table next to us receive an update from their server. It's one thing to not provide a warning before people order, it's another to never provide an update at all while people wait at their table for an hour after their appetizers. It's also especially inconsiderate for people who would appreciate the advance notice to accommodate any plans they may have after dinner. The food itself was decent, with some dishes being better than others. The cornbread gets a lot of hype but doesn't seem to warrant the $18 price tag. After paying $29 for 3 dips, you also have to pay an extra $4 for bread which seems rather petty and penny pinching. If I don't order the $4 bread am I supposed to eat these dips on their own? Overall, a lackluster experience due to the excessive wait with no updates and middling service.

Aziza was an amazing experience! The atmosphere is beautiful, serene, and upscale. We were able to get a same-day reservation. The staff was even kind enough to move us to an earlier seating time. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and did a great job explaining the menu, particularly food allergies for our daughter. The main dishes took a little while to arrive, but our waiter explained that the cornbread is prepared that way to make it extra moist--and it was totally worth the wait! Every dish was unique and delicious. Ordered the roasted cauliflower, grilled octopus, short ribs, and cornbread. The wine was perfectly chilled and crisp. Great food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Aziza is a total mood. The decor hits that perfect sweet spot of dark, soothing, and sophisticated. It's the kind of atmosphere that lets you really focus on the food. And speaking of the food: the dips are the undisputed stars here. Every single one we tried was packed with flavor and perfectly textured. While the flatbread is incredible on its own, its true purpose in life is clearly to serve as a vehicle for those dips. The Shakshuka was another standout, beautifully presented with a sophisticated foam that really elevated the dish. We also tried the Cornbread, which was a delightful surprise. I expected a simple side, but it was unexpectedly sweet and completely hit the mark. The waiting staff was nice and funny. Any chance of a South Bay expansion?

Are there heat lamps for outdoor seating?

Yes, there are. But generally it can get super cold in the area, especially at night.

Do they have options for vegetarians and vegans? No meat, fish or eggs based dishes?

Yes, absolutely! There are more vegetarian than vegan dishes, a few of the vegetarian dishes have eggs in them, but the wait staff mentioned the chef isn't big on using dairy so most dishes are void of cheese and creams. They were able to remove…

Is delivery available? If not, how about takeout? And if there is takeout, any helpful tips on placing or picking up the order? Thanks!

Hi Ashley! We are no longer doing delivery, but are still doing take away for pick up. We do have instructions on our website at azizasf.com under the "take out" menu, but…

What dish is definitely gluten-free, meaning no bread, no beer, no soy sauce, no wheat products? Thx!

A significant portion of their menu items do not have gluten. Have you checked the menu? Almost all vegetable and meat dishes are without gluten. Changes seasonally, but you should be able to spot on the menu before making a reservation.

Do you have hookah and belly dancing nights?

Hello and thank you for your inquiry. No we no longer have the belly dancing nights. We also do not have hookah nights.

Is there any Halal options available?

Hi Fariha, Our chicken is halal! So the roulade and our basteeya are both halal. I hope this…

Is the bar seating first come first serve? Does the bar serve the regular menu? Do you have a happy hour?

Bar is first come, first serve. The bar does serve the same menu. There is NO happy hour.

There is a nice selection off the main menu for Happy Hour 4-6pm. Providing an opportunity to sample one or more of the menu items as an appetizer. I chose the mussels with garlic bread, as good ones are not found easily. The portion was quite ample, and the sauce I dipped my nice crunchy garlic bread in was very flavorful, warm and delicious. I also tried the plantains which were cooked perfectly; not too mushy with a perfect char, and the sweet onions on top were also tasty. Paired with a very tangy dipping sauce. All the flavors came together well. My husband ordered the Cantina burger which he enjoyed down to the last bite. Our daughter also sampled off the smaller menu with Lomo Empanadas and the Chicharron de Pollo which she reported were both very nicely prepared. Will, our server gave us excellent recommendations which we availed ourselves of. The bill for 4 items plus the burger, a side of rice, and a ginger beer came to just under seventy dollars, which was a reasonable price. I would definitely give the food five stars, and the restaurant four as it's a long and lengthy bar with a few tables for two. The majority of the seating is in the back with two flat screens and an open kitchen. I can imagine how loud this place can get. We went at the perfect time: not a lot of customers so we received excellent individualized service from Will. I would hope to be able to return next time we visit GG Park and sample some more menu items like the Peruvian Paella which sounded very promising.
