Stopped in here for breakfast during a convention that I was attending. Very cute retro diner. I sat at the bar, it felt like I was in the 50's. I had the egg white scramble with no cheese and veggie sausage. The eggs were ok, nothing special but the veggie sausage was delicious. I'm not big on fake meat, but this tasted so real I had to ask the waitress if I received the correct item. Thick marble rye toast on the side was decent. Waitress was busy, but sweet. I read these reviews and I really wonder if I can trust some of my fellow Yelpers for quality reviews! How could anyone think this overpriced place was excellent? Maybe I missed something by not having breakfast or a burger. I had the Chef's plate which was an odd greasy mixture of pasta, old tasting chicken, previously frozen shrimp, olives, artichoke, and peppers. Blech. I also had a salad which had the most bitter greens ever. I couldn't finish the salad. Now the desserts are another matter. I had the lemon meringue and it was really delicious..in fact shockingly so given the sub par quality of the salad and pasta dish. Go here for dessert but skip eating here if you can. read more

I had the mahi mahi sandwich. It was very good. We have now had breakfast and dinner here. The food is ok. The service is very very slow. Not sure why since both times the store was not busy. If you have found allergies you will not be able to enjoy any desserts because they are all made in house and in a very small space. Very pricey. Great place to grab some food no matter what time of the day or night. When I was here for a conference we ate at B-Line three times. I normally don't like to eat at the same place over and over again, but our time and options were limited due to the conference hours. Anyway - I would recommend the grilled mahi-mahi sandwich. Fresh and great flavor. I liked the sandwich so much that I got this twice in a row. The third time I got grilled cheese with tomato soup. The grilled cheese was average but I wasn't a fan of the soup. It wasn't that it was bad - just not to my liking. read more

If you're staying at The Peabody, just suck it up and take a walk down I-Drive for a bite to eat. We watched our food sit under a heat lamp for over 15 minutes while our waitress was no where to be found. "Did anyone order the congealed cheeseburger and cold fries?"... Ummm yeah, thanks, but no thanks. On a positive note, we grabbed a slice of Key Lime Pie from their extensive desert counter and took it back to our room... Yummy! So unless you're completely desperate because it's 4 a.m. or your feet hurt so much from visiting the parks that you no longer have use of your legs, there are way too many other food options in Orlando, to settle on this place. read more

Another sweet retreat lands in my hands in Orlando. The tourist capital has some great finds if you know where to go. I was attending a conference on I-drive and decided to stop in for dessert at the Peabody hotel. It's a super nice hotel, which not only houses marching ducks but a French pastry chef who creates lovely edible delights. What's great is that he is responsible for the desserts at entire hotel so it doesn't matter where you go. I happen to visit the b-line diner and order the Aloha tart. It really stood out because of the choice of fruits used. There was papaya, pineapple, kiwi, and strawberries resting on Bavarian cream in a tart shell. And the shell was not the typical Graham cracker. This had more of sponge cake-like airiness and as a whole felt like a light bite. I attend an annual expo at the convention center and have eaten at the B-line diner at least one time on every trip for the past four years. This past March I ate twice, I had lunch from their walk-up counter one day and sat down for a group breakfast another. The location is convenient which is the primary reason I continue to return. The atmosphere is typical of a diner however it is always pretty crowded and there is no natural light. The walk-up counter is quick and easy if you don't have time for a full meal. I have never found the food to be overly impressive. It is fine and I don't have any major complaints but it is pretty average and I would not consider the dishes I have had to be craveable. I will most likely continue to eat at the B-line simply because it is incredibly convenient and the food is okay but I will not be counting down the days until my next visit. read more

Interesting little restaurant. Stayed at the Peabody during a convention within the hotel and ate here a few times out of necessity. The first time I nearly choked on my water when I saw the prices, so I settled for some hummus, tapanade, and a slice of cake. The server who helped me was incredibly kind and useful, helping me with my menu choices and giving me honest opinions about the food and portions which I always appreciate. After I ordered, he asked if he could get me anything. I jokingly asked if I could take it back to my room (it was late and I was exhausted) and he said "Absolutely!" He brought me everything that I had ordered in a little bag and I was able to enjoy it back in my room. +++ But sadly, this was my only highlight at the BLine. The next few times the service was slow, inattentive, and even a bit rude. The chips we ordered were soggy and terrible, and the red velvet cake made me SICK. (Trust me, you don't want to know) - - I will say, however, that after 5 days of searching and checking in and hoping and praying to get to try the famous key lime pie... I finally got my hands on a slice. And wow. WOW. Amazing. ++ So in the future, if I ever stay here again... I'm sticking with take out. =) read more

This restaurant is inside the Peabody Hotel. I was at the hotel for the conference so I ate at the restaurant twice for lunch. Both times I had good meals and good service. I first lunch I had was the grilled fish sandwich. It was nicely cooked, not overcooked. Fries were good too. The second lunch I had was the Greek salad. It had all the traditional Greek salad ingredients - feta, tomato, cucumber, olives. It was tasty, a little overdressed. I also had a really yummy ice cream sundae. I also got a salad one day from their to-go counter. It was tasty too. I did not try any of their baked goods but they had a ton of items (cakes, cookies, etc.) in the pasty window. I was in town attending a tradeshow at the OC convention center, located right next door to the Peabody Hotel and unfortunately, the food at the OCCC was crap so I escaped for lunch to the B-Line Diner. The resto was pretty busy, noticed a few fellow tradeshow attendees with their badges, glad that I wasn't the only one! But it was your typical diner setup with an open kitchen and counter seating but definitely much more upscale than your neighborhood greasy spoon. Their menu offering for lunch was rather slim, simply salads, sandwiches, burgers and a few entrees but all with a gourmet twist. Again, not your neighborhood greasy spoon! I ordered their Crab Cake Burger, priced at $18. I can honestly say that was the best Crab Cake sandwich (burger...whatever) I've ever had! You know why I can say that? There were lumps of fresh crab in the patty! Not to mention, the crab was blended and seasoned so perfectly into a nice patty. The brioche bun was also a nice touch. For dessert, I had their Caramel Tres Leches, priced at $6. Ehh...it wasn't all that great, the "caramel" was like a tiny dollop, if that and the cake was quite dry and the size of a cupcake, not worth the $6, I say. But I saw their dessert case as I walked out and the other desserts looked really good. The service was really friendly and man, my server kept my glass of iced tea filled to the rim every time she passed by, and all with a smile. Overall, you'll find some good eats at B-Line Diner, typically overpriced since it's in a hotel but, it's quality stuff! My husband and I were at a convention at the Hyatt Regency this past weekend. I arrived there fairly late on Friday evening and even though there was some drinks and snacks in the hospitality room for convention goers, I wanted some real food. My husband suggested that we go to the B line diner because he had eaten there earlier in the day and was very pleased. I ordered a side salad and some rock shrimp lettuce tacos. The lettuce tacos were filled with rock shrimp, of course, and guacamole and mango salsa. My husband ordered a Reuben sandwich and he loved it so much that he talked to the chef that made his sandwich to thank him for doing so. Our waiter was Aaron and he was very courteous and helpful. My husband ate there again the next day for lunch and he had a roast beef sandwich that he said was really good. He also had the blackened Mahi sandwich which he thought was very delicious. We plan to go back to this hotel every year for the annual Knights of Columbus convention, so I'm sure that I will be visiting the B line diner again in the future. I gave this a four star rating because I thought the service time waiting for our meal was a little slow. read more

While attending a conference in Orlando, Fl, we were looking for a close to the venue lunch locale, someone suggested the B-Line Diner @ the Peabody hotel. This was perfect! We were across the street at the Orange County Conv Center and needed a better option for lunch than what was offered - box lunches (ick!). The first thing we noticed was the huge display of deserts - so inviting and delicous looking. Then it hit you..for a diner it doesn't smell like a diner! Our server was pretty nice and check-in on us regularly. Half our group ordered breakfast and the rest of us had lunch. Everything looked and smelled so good on arrival! I ordered agrilled chicken breast sandwich that came highly regarded by the staff. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere wasn't too noisy or crowded - even though we were there at the peak of the lunch rush. I'd highly recommend this place! read more

I stayed at the Hyatt while attending a conference and was not at all impressed with the breakfast. I had to add salt to my food and the coffee was pretty mediocre as well. I'm giving this review 3 stars because the desserts are awesome! I ordered a chocolate mousse cake and key lime pie slice that were both amazing. I'm told the carrot cake is good too, but I'm not a fan of carrot cake so I don't try it. They have a bakery counter display with lots more options to choose from. If you have time, go somewhere else for breakfast but definitely come back later for dessert. read more

We had a 5-star experience here despite its being packed to the rafters with football fans for the Citrus Bowl. We were seated quickly by a friendly, attentive staff. We asked for dessert first! The tiramisu was divine, the blue cheesecake was good (but outshined by the tiramisu which had much more depth of flavor). We enjoyed the 4 cheese grilled cheese served HOT (though we would've preferred no tomato in the center) and the tomato bisque soup was flavorful (tho a little too spicy for one of us). Prices were fair. Our water glasses were kept filled and we got out of there when WE wanted to, as the bill came promptly. It has been redone in a contemporary sleek look, gone is the "diner" feel. I stayed at the Hyatt about a week so I got to try a lot of the dishes at the B-Line. There really aren't any other real breakfast options in the Hyatt Regency so I'm glad they have the 24-7 diner. However, aside from the hash browns (which were AMAZING), I wasn't a huge fan of the entrees. Sometimes it takes awhile for your order to come up if there's a crowd so if you're in a rush you may want to call ahead to order takeout. read more

First day I got an egg sandwich, it had a ham steak on it and was mostly gristle, and I was charged 3$ extra for hash browns I didn't ask for. The waiter seemed put out the I pointed it out. Second day I got a Belgian waffle (12$) and it tastes foul, almost as bad as the coffee. Not a place I will come back to. read more

I wanted to be the first to review this place. Alas, I'm the third. I really like diners. This one is excellent. It's an upscale diner. I usually prefer the average, dingy diner, but this one was OK. I had a great milk shake (peanut butter). The reuben sandwich was pretty good, though they skimped on the dressing. My dining mates' food looked good also. The desserts looked amazing, but I passed. A few days later I went here for breakfast. I had the smoked salmon bagel. It was excellent. My fiance had some sort of Mexican skillet (scrambled eggs, Mexican sausage and salsa), which was also very good. The price is decent. It's not much more than the Village Inn, a nearby family restaurant that is very good, but not as fancy as the B-line. I definitely recommend this place. read more

I should've got in the car and gone elsewhere to be eating by now.... everyone's just standing around waiting for their food... tonight was wrestlemania and it seems theirs only two people working here.... This place is a lifesaver for the non wealthy folk staying at the Peabody. I went here for dinner. The service here is unbeatable. People were painfully nice. Maybe I'm just used to the cold, cruel personality that is a lot of Philly. Either way, it was enjoyable. I ordered the portabella burger and it was awesome. It's set apart from the crowd because it comes with a delicious black olive tapenade as well as other roasted squash and peppers. B-line really did the portabella justice at a decent price. I was too full to order any of their dessert, but a few friends told me it was the best. Peabody gets an A+. If I ever get the chance to stay here again I'll be back. read more

Valet parking for free just park at front and get your ticket validated . We got the berry cake combo it was delicious and Portobello rap with potatoes chips all I can says is mehh tasted like a pizza in a rap and the hummas combo very cold hummas with warmish bread if you like this sort of thing order it , the napkins leave white crap all over you if happens to touch your clothes don't know what that's about... For desert ordered the key lime pie not had this before so can't compare was very tart with a nice smooth texture with a lime hit at the end didn't make my mouth water like the Pancakes but was okay, brownie sundae which was a warm brownie with ice cream, tasted just as you think and sweet. If your here the ac is on so it's a bit chilly so beware :p but i will give them 3 stars as the menu wasn't as big as I thought it would be, not much vegetarian options but very nice hotel. read more

This place does not have the worst food but the service is absolutely herendendous! this place I've been to maybe 4-5 times in the last 6 months and it's never been good service!There can be 10 workers in there and one customer in its still gonna take a 1/2 hour to get your to go order and also if you dine in same thing... if there's 5 workers and only two customers it's gonna be at least 30-40 minutes before you even get asked what you want! doesn't matter what time of the day, it is doesn't matter who's there, you're not getting service for an hour and the workers are not the nicest group of people. it's just sad that this is in such a nice hotel with such horrible service I don't understand what the Hyatt's doing?? cant they hire good employees?? read more

We stayed in The Peabody for three nights in April. We arrived late on Friday the 15th, hungry, so we headed for the diner. I didn't want anything too heavy so I ordered the panzanella salad. Husband ordered a reuben and fries. I asked for a glass of chardonnay, and really liked what was brought, keeping my fingers crossed that it wasn't going to be an arm and a leg, as wine prices weren't on the menu. I liked the wine. Enough that I ordered a second, again expecting to be hit in the $10 to $12 range, especially considering the high prices on the menu. It took awhile, but our meals eventually appeared. I was pleasantly surprised by the salad. Really liked it! I had never had a panzanella before and even though it's a bread salad and has a lot of bread, this one was full of fresh veggies and as I had wished was not heavy at all. Husband enjoyed his reuben and fries. The salad was around $9 and I think the sandwich was around $13. The best surprise was the wine turned out to be just $6 per glass. The next night we went back for just a little something-something. Shared sweet potato fries with a honey bbq dipping sauce, and two small desserts. Husband wanted ice cream and I opted for the cute duck cookie. Fries were really good. Cookie was adorable and good.. Husband enjoyed his ice cream. I learned this night though that there were indeed different wine level options available, and where the kind waitress on night one had brought the less expensive option, night two brought a waiter that tried hard to bring the more expensive, until I described what I had had before and explained the price point. To wrap it up, the B-Line Diner has decent options when you stay at The Peabody. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there if I wasn't, however. read more

It's 2AM in Orlando, FL and you want something real to eat as if it was 2PM, but your choices in the vicinity of this entertainment destination seem small (7-11, Taco Hell...). Located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, not far from downtown or Universal Park, the B-Line presents a spacious and well appointed diner restaurant atmosphere, even after midnight. We were the only visitors that night, or early morning, for a while as we walked through the short menu and marveled at the surreal quality of the place. After ordering easy plates of grilled cheese sandwiches, light salads, and medium well done burgers, we thought we were saved for the moment. Our luck ran out when the next table was occupied by a congregation of apparently drunk over-age frat boys, who had no end of cheap beers in their pockets. Whooping it up and making stupid jokes to themselves, the 'Natty Light kids started throwing things at each other and the littering the place with us in range. I recognize the coverage issues of grouping people together, but the management recognized our plight too and made a very generous offering to us on the bottom line before we left. We found the food and the service of this venue to be very good, if not excellent. When I return to Orlando, FL in the future, I will remember the surreal luxury of The Hyatt and also note the the B-Line Diner will also be waiting for me at 2AM. read more

I'm giving the B-Line Diner a 5 Star review not for my lunch today but from the wonderful memories of the past a my future trips to the B-Line. Please indulge me. When this hotel was the Peabody (now a Hyatt Regency) I used to make it a point of eating at the B-Line for lunch everyday of my stay and for one specific dish, the chicken pot pie. It saddened me that it was no longer on the menu. I inquired and Chef Corey Crawford gave me his business card and said to let him know when I was coming to town and that he would make me his famous chicken pot pie. Now that is service! By the way, my grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque soup was delicious. It just wasn't chicken pot pie. B-Line to the B-Line! read more

But if you go to Orena (nearby, by car or trolley) and stay a bit too late and you need to get vegetables into your system, you can come to B-Line and get really good food. We paid some extras for substitutions (fries instead of kettle chips) and added the tomato bisque at cost, but it was worth it! Had a reuben on a previous day and we weren't thrilled about it, but the fruit cup at breakfast/lunch was good. Good option, esp. late at night when everything else is closed, though service is probably better at brunch-time. read more
