I will not go back to this B-Man's again, I ordered chicken curry bowl and got it with two little pieces of chicken, the rest are curry, one piece of carrot and two pieces of potato. This is for $7.59 ! It's the third times here. The first two, I thought "ok, maybe they didn't really look at the content when they put curry on top of the rice", so I gave them one more try today. Everyone who has lived in the neighborhood has been to Bmans not because of its proximity, because of the food. First off, the spam musubi is one of the most delicious things that I have ever eaten. But the diversity of their menu is also insane. The chinese chicken salad (the box is literally almost exploding because of all the food they fit into it) is divine and they also let you substitute with different types of chicken for no added cost! Like the other reviewers, I am also amazed that they do not charge you for subbing brown rice, and with the chicken curry, it just tastes like heaven with big chunks of potatoes and carrots (and I don't even usually like carrots). They also have all these different sizes/portions so you can get something if you're absolutely starving or even if you're just a little bit hungry. And vegetarians, have no fear. B-mans has THE best veggie burger that I've ever had and their tofu skewers are well, you can't get just one. So if you haven't tried it, get in your car and drive over there! read more

I try to eat as much vegetarian as possible when I go out. So, when I saw that there was a garden burger on the menu, I was excited. My wife got the tofu skewers with boiled vegetables and brown rice. It was SO good. My goodness. My burger was so juicy, delicious, teriyaki flavored goodness of a burger that I can't wait to eat again. Oh my goodness. Best part of that delicious burger was that it didn't cost too much. I believe it was a little over $3, but I would've gladly paid over that for the burger I had. My problem was that I waited a little too long to eat the burger, so it got very soggy when I got to it. But, that's my fault, not theirs. My wife's tofu skewers had been dipped in soy sauce and then grilled. Awesome touch. The vegetables were really great, along with the brown rice. I can't say too much about it because SHE ate it, but it was really nicely priced and very good. GO HERE, do yourself a favor. It's very evenly priced, very delicious. read more

The food here is always good, you really can't order anything bad. The curry is delicious and so is the ABC burger. My husband did have an unfortunate incident where he got a molded hamburger bun. So only advice is to check your buns and call ahead if possible, it's always busy. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places to go eat. Recently they have gone downhill I ordered my usual double teriyaki chicken bowl with avocado and was astonished at the microscopic piece of avocado that they gave me the chicken was burnt and the amount of vegetables was about equal to the miniscule amount of avocado. This is my second bad experience at bmans in the past two months, and my last ever. I'd recommend avoiding this once delicious establishment. read more

I love the food, but the take out orders are disappointing. I have been noticing lots of water at the bottom of the low carb bowls...I don't think they drain the veggies at all. Today there was so much water at the bottom of my Chicken Bowl that it leaked and the bottom of the bag disintegrated in the car ... when I picked it up there went dinner all over the floor of my garage. I think the food is a good value but they really need to drain the cabbage and veggies!! It takes no time and would make one customer much happier :) read more

Update: Added a star for a full five. After my last review, the owner messaged me and seems to have addressed the issues I previously had. Since then, I've been back several times. Every single time the servicers were great, very friendly and the lines moved quickly. Food is still yummy, fresh and somehow even more consistent than before. The Hispanic guy with the tattooed arms at the front counter seriously provided fine dining level service! He was so professional and thoughtful with my to go order, making sure we had everything we needed and sauces we didn't know to ask for. Top notch service! I've had worse service at the Ritz, maybe he could give them some tips. It was my first visit and the teriyaki bowl was really quite good. The skewers were yummy as well. I had lunch with my old high school friend Joseph Edo at B - Man's today. The food was hot and the service was pretty fast. The place is kinda small for the amount of foot traffic they receive. They need to expand. The CLOSED Baskin Robins space is available. They need to spill over into that space. B-Mans is just an absolute must for anyone that has lived or lives near it and if you havent been, GO! The spam musubi is just a thing for me but I think its absolutely delicious. The burgers are great, especially their ABC(avo, bacon, cheese) and the vegetarian which i actually dont mind purchasing even though im an avid meat enthusiast :). The chicken salad is great with a sauce that just has the right amount of tang to it to make it taste great. The chicken teriyaki and curry bowls are great and you can sub the white rice for brown at no additional price, which i dont really see anywhere else. It's just a great fast food restaurant and that I am surprised to even give a fast food a five. Everything on their large menu is just great and I pretty much recommend anything. Overrated.... So I was in the area after court and I was looking for a quick bite. Based on all of the reviews, I was hoping for some dang good teriyaki beef. However, what I got was just average teriyaki beef. :( The venue is a solid size with plenty of chairs and tables to go around. They have a wide assortment of dishes from burgers to all kinds of rice bowls. I got a teriyaki bowl and my gf got a teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice. OMG, the brown rice was so dry and tasteless! Also, the meat in both dishes kind of stunk. Overall, my favorite teriyaki place is rascals in the LBC. I'm not going to complain because B-Man gives you great value for your buck. However, the food here is mediocre compared to other places that I have been too. read more

If you've lived in the San Gabriel Valley for any great length, you may remember Spikes hamburgers at San Gabriel and Valley. Well, as I understand, the gentleman that owned Spikes worked at Lockheed, and bought this restaurant to be his own boss. The restaurant was thriving, and I would always go for their Teri-avocado burger with cheese. As time passed, the restaurant changed many hands, but the son took the menu and secret teri recipe and built his own brand of restaurant in San Gabriel/San Marino through B-Man's. I believe he was the Roy Choi of the 80's and he successfully built on his reputation at two or three other stores. This was the first and only one I've tried, and am impressed with the quality and speed at which I can get my order through. Still the best is the teri-avocado burger, but their Hawaiian macaroni salad is excellent as well. It still tastes as good as the father had done decades ago, and has a cult following of 30-somethings, along with baby-boomers who have known the original "Spikes" restaurant. I will always come to this store, as it has just about everything a guy needs to eat, plus I hear a Trader Joe's is being built in the same center. read more

This place is really good. I'm a vegetarian, but my family is not. B-man's offers yummy food for all. The portions are generous! I usually get either the tofu skewers bowl or a veggie burger. My family has gotten the burgers and the teriyaki chicken and beef. The teriyaki sauce is killer! The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because it could improve upon its fries. Bmans used to be one of my go-to places. However, recently the food/service has changed. Food - My chicken teriyaki tasted like the chicken was either charred, overcooked, or as if it was reheated. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't as great as i remembered. Service - Before the customer service used to be really friendly. Now, they just seem to be doing the minimal just to get by. At least a smile would be nice, but i've been back quite a few times recently and I have yet to receive even that. I would go back again of course if i'm craving teriyaki, but don't expect the best food or the best service. read more

I'm not sure how I have not rated B-Man's before. Their B-Man's Mini chicken Teriyaki bowl is my hands down favorite. The Musubi itself was delicious as well chicken one of course. The also just started selling this cold noodle dish that I just love.... I literally work around the corner so everyone from work goes there a lot but the one negative thing I have to say is my order the last 4 times and some of my coworkers orders has been missing something like today my sauce for my cold noodles not in bag and I was trying to buy lunch for my coworker because I have been bragging about this noodle dish for a while I couldn't go back because lunch is only 30 min. I can understand if it happens once in a while but it's been happening way to much lately I need to take a break for a while. (sad face) read more

I've been eating at B-Mans since high school (it kinda helps that San Marino HS is down the street) and it's still just as good. They're always really busy during the lunch rush, but you still get your food in a timely fashion. Even when I was meeting up with friends for a little car meet at the parking lot, I was unable to resist the temptation of a curry plate or curry fries (or anything else that had their curry on it)... curry spam musubi anybody? Combo #3 consists of: - Chicken Teriyaki bowl: Freshly grilled chicken thrown on top of steamed rice. Usually the chicken is covered with cabbage, but not mine! I ask them to replace the cabbage with their side of Potato salad. Then I sprinkle some of their home made hot sauce and BOOM! Awesome mouthfuls of deliciousness! - Burger: the patty is also freshly off the grill, fresh lettuce/tomatoes/pickles. I started with this to fill my stomach a little before devouring their bowl. - Drink: fountain drink, unlimited refills. Friendly workers. Typical burger joint set up, gets pretty busy during lunch time during weekdays, but order comes out surprisingly fast. I'd love to try their other things.
