I've been to this location several times, and they are consistently good. This time, I got the mixed Bolani regular (chives and potato Bolani). If I had to choose one, I prefer the potato Bolani. The portion size for the Bolani is massive so you will be eating it over the course of several meals! I've tried a bunch of their kabobs, and this time I got the chicken kabob with an extra skewer. The chicken is pretty juicy.

My favorite one is actually the beef kabob, so I would recommend that one if you were only trying one type of kabob!

I ordered the chicken and beef combo which came with rice and salad. I liked the rice and salad but not a fan of the meats. I should have opted for the gyro which looked tasty. I tried the chicken shawarma, it was seasoned well. I liked the hummus and pita. The pita was very soft and warm. The baklava was a great dessert, it had a perfect amount of nuttiness. Parking was plenty since it was in a shopping center.

My godson and I tried Baba Kabob yesterday while we were taking a break from playing Magic at At Ease Games near Harbor Freight. Baba Kabob is no-frills, but friendly, down-to-earth, and pretty tasty. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich and my godson ordered the Baba kabob, which is essentially the same but with gyro meat included. Both sandwiches also came with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki. My favorite thing about these sandwiches was how non-greasy they were. Sometimes halal street food can get greasy or overly oily, but these sandwiches weren't like that. Also, the meat tasted pretty high quality. The large bottle of sriracha at the table was a nice plus, too. Overall, pretty tasty, fresh halal street food. Prices are slightly steep, but the quality, atmosphere, and customer service offset that enough.

Can't believe we waited so long to eat here and I cannot wait to come back. The potato bolani was plenty to share and also great leftover. Both sandwiches were delicious and will definitely be trying more options next time.

Hearty servings. Takes about 12-15 minutes for the kabob to come off the grill. 3 skewers was to much for me to finish so I got to take home some for lunch the following day. Great seasoning on all three of the grilled meats.

I placed a pickup order and was pleasantly surprised by how easy parking was, there were plenty of spots available. I ordered the fries and a falafel sandwich. The fries were generous in portion and really tasty. The falafel sandwich was flavorful, though it could have used a bit more sauce. Overall, it was a solid experience, and I'd rate it around a 3.5.

It's been a while since I've written a review and I've gotta say this place knocked my socks off! It was outstanding in every way. The service was amazing...everyone was super kind and helpful. They even helped us get my mom situated with her walker without asking--it was like second nature to them. The prices are incredibly reasonable especially considering the high quality of the food and the very generous portions. The lamb shank literally fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. It was seasoned to perfection. The rice was so flavorful and even the salad dressing complimented the meal and the veggies were fresh. The bolani was delicious and warm and comforting....I look forward to returning and trying the potato version. My friend had the Gyro which was a flavor explosion and my mom had the chicken kabob. I was most impressed with how tender and juicy the chunks of white meat chicken were--how did they do that? Clearly they cook with love and it shows. I don't have any interior pics but it was a small bright space with maybe 5 or 6 tables. I'm already planning my next visit--hope to see you there!

Heard a lot of hype about this place from my friends and it lived up to expectations. We ordered the chicken kabob, beef kabob, and potatoe Bolani. The rice portions are gigantic here! Highlights for me were the chicken and bolani. I have no idea how they got the white meat to be so moist and tender! The bolani was absolute fire - so addicting. We enjoyed it with the included white sauce. Service is so friendly, felt like we were dining at a family run establishment. The workers checked in with us several times to ask if the food was ok. This is rare for a fast food shop and much appreciated. I will certainly be back!

I came here around 1 PM on a Tuesday. It's in a shopping center with plenty of parking. Even though they were fairly busy, I didn't have to wait at the counter to place my order. I ordered the chicken and beef kebab combo, which came with a generous portion of rice and a salad. The kebabs were incredibly tender and cooked perfectly, with great flavor. The dipping sauces were excellent, and the salad was very fresh. Our food came out in under 10 minutes, and the portions were large enough that I had to take half to go. The employees were friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back.

The restaurant is pretty unassuming and is setup like most others in the area - counter service and a decent amount of seating. The person at the register was prompt and kind. We got the baba kabob sandwich (one spicy, one regular) and an order of chive bolanti. The sandwich is STUFFED but the flavors and portions are well balanced and work. The chive bolanti is great and simple, like naan with less air. Overall, would come here again for sure if the craving hit.

This isn't that BS they sell at Daphne's or wherever you think you're eating a "good" gyro. If it's just good it's trash. Baba has reached perfection and their rotisserie is battle tested. Pull up and get invested. You heard?!? Grab a baklava while you're at it. Peace. read more

I waked in and it smelled so delicious. Friendly service. You can take to-go or they have a nice little shaded area in the parking lot you can dine outside. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich. The meat was so juicy and seasoned really well. I got the combo with fries. The only thing I didn't like were the fries - they are crinkle cut and not seasoned. It's a minor detail and I don't care much because I'm not going there for the fries. I will definitely be back to try several other things on their menu. As a normal business etiquette, when you approach a restaurant counter to order your food, you'll be acknowledged, welcomed with a smile and pleasant words such as "Hi, good morning/afternoon/evening, how are you today, how can I help you?" However, at Baba Kabob the situation is the opposite. The owner either ignores your presence or he doesn't greet you as most other businesses would normally do. To make it clear and simple, he is not nice. If you can't be nice and friendly, just hire someone else to do the job for you. You just stay inside the kitchen to cook the food so nobody is forced to deal with your attitude! read more

Baba Kabob is a family owned business. The couple used to run a deli at a local grocery store and that's how I was introduced to their menu. The bolani is my favorite. It reminds me of Indian Aloo paratha and goes well with chai as breakfast or chicken wrap for dinner. Every item in the menu is worth trying. Defo try their mantu!! read more

My wife and I went here for dinner, as we have tried Afghan food before and liked it. I was very impressed with their Qabuli Palaow with lamb shank. For $13.99 it was a huge portion. The lamb was nicely boiled and easily came off the bone. The rice, shredded carrots, and raisins had a mild, tasty spice to it. My wife got a gyro which was very thick with meat and flavorful. Both of us had enough to take home for another meal. We highly recommend this place. read more

Absolutely delicious! The chapli kabob was juicy and hot, the naan was fresh, and the Qabuli Palaw was flavorful. I've been to Afghan restaurants in major cities across the US, and this is easily top 3! Not to mention, the staff is friendly and the portions are more than generous. Walked into this place thinking it was Indian food but then realized soon as the smell hit my nose that's it Authentic Afghan food. Looking at the menu, I didn't know if I want to order the qabuli palaw ( brown rice with raisins and carrots, or any of the fresh marinated kabobs or their chapli kabob( Afghan burger). I was impressed with the timing, the price, and the hospitable service. I see myself visiting this restaurant once a week driving from El Cajon. Was very happy with the flavors and seasoning of the food we ordered. Chicken & Beef kabob, Chapli kabob, Chicken shawarma, Mantu, Gyro salad. Our hummus tasted okay but it was grainy, and we really prefer smoother hummus. Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back to try the potato bolani. read more

I'm not someone that likes raisins normally and these were different than the typical raisins I've had. I liked the sweetness to it with the rice and lamb. The flavors blended well together. It's not convenient to find parking, the parking lot is small and tight. When it's busy, it's a bit difficult to get inside and outside of here.

Instead of apologizing or trying to help, they were incredibly disrespectful over the phone and kept trying to blame us for their mistake. I have no idea why they couldn't just take responsibility. They even tried to gaslight me into believing I hadn't made the reservation correctly. All I did was call, give them my information, and they told me I was all set. I honestly don't know how that could be misunderstood any other way. Needless to say, we won't be spending Mother's Day there -- and after the way they handled the situation, we probably won't be returning at all.

When I point out none of this is advertised anywhere, I'm informed it's on Open Table, and that we should've seen it there, and were dismissed. They said they could give us another restaurant recommendation and then proceeded to just dismiss us without even that courtesy. We go back to verify this age limit, and it's there... one TINY line 2 scrolls down on the page, WAY beyond any of the information needed to just book a table, which is the only thing Open Table is used for. Complete waste of time for a poorly advertised bar with zero helpful staff on a dumpy street by the airport.

It was very packed and no tables were open so we had to wait a few min to be able to be seated. The food came out and looked amazing and also tasted amazing.
