On our way to Montezuma Castle, and looking for some grub. This is an awesome BBQ joint for a quick bite. We got in around 11:30 and not too busy, but started to fill up after a bit of time. The service was on par and food delicious! My babe was happy from his first bite of the beef bbq sandwich, and the grilled cheese was kid approved! I had the pork bbq salad and the salad was fresh.

Order the onion rings, they are obscenely good. The fries have a satisfying crunch. Their biscuits are very large, made of flour, and are fresh, hot, and soft; definitely seem homemade. The ribs are so tender they fall off the bone. Pulled pork is equally as tender. Brisket was a little tougher which is to be expected. BBQ sauce is tasty, slightly tart, and a little thin. I prefer it over the thicker options as their sauce enhances the meat as opposed to covering up the flavor of the meat. Service was great; very friendly, helpful, and prompt. There's at least a half dozen other items on the menu that I would like to try out given the opportunity in the future. It's a shame I don't live nearby, or I would definitely be back sooner. They have a little outside seating near their smoker and the road, and the view is very pretty. The serenity is broken up by the busy street it is on, but it's still worth sitting outside. I'm extremely happy we made the choice to stop here and plan on returning when I'm in the area next.

Service was 5 star all the way. Atmosphere was 5 star all the way. BBQ sauce is homemade and 4 out of 5 stars. Taco salad was 5 stars. Hamburger and grilled cheese sandwich was a 5 star. The ribs was a let down for us. We got 4 ribs that were over cooked. They had a good smoke on them but I was unable to eat half of my ribs because the meat was so dry and over cooked. The pulled pork was also very dry. The brisket was good. It had great flavor, good smoke, and juicy. I am hoping that the ribs were overly dry because they were so thin. As for the pulled pork. Would I come back? Yes. But I would make sure to request a thicker and juicier cut of ribs. I gave this review a 3 star because when I go to a BBQ house, I expect to eat ribs that are well prepared.

Staff was pleasant but this was honestly the worst BBQ I've ever had. The meat was tough and dry.

Good BBQ Brisket for a good price. Worth the trip when you're on the way to the Grand Canyon or to Montezuma's Castle.

Here at COLT Grill I had The Filly, a salad the menu described as "romaine, walnuts, pears, cranberries, bleu cheese crumbles, cranberry vinaigrette". I opted for the "small" ($8.50) over the" large" ($13) and it was a beautiful salad both in presentation and taste. But the salad portion of the menu also said one could "add chicken or smoked turkey" ($4) or "add beef brisket" ($5) and I did. Did you just tell me I could get a perfect, tasty, ample salad with a separate, robust and delicious side of BBQ beef brisket for $13.50? I wasn't just ready to fly to Arizona; I was ready to move to Cottonwood. This meal was delicious. A "small platter of smoked brisket" ($14.50) was enjoyed equally by another at my table but, with my bowlful of brisket, I paid little attention to that other meal. My attention instead was aimed at a nearby table's indulgence in the smoked Mac-n-cheese ($4.75) and Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Bread ($4). Jealous I was, for I had no room for anything more. What a winner. COLT Grill might be half the reason I return to this area in the future.

Took a bit of time to get our food since a large group entered right before we did, but food was definitely worth the wait. My wife and I both got a zinger basket each with thighs (cause we like dark meat) and it had a solid crunch - that chicken has some armor and delightfully crisp. Hot is decently hot, so while it won't melt your mouth off if you have some spice tolerance, it will make you sweat. The sides and sauces here are fantastic. Sidewinder fries are amazingly crisp, almost a hybrid potato chip and french fry. The sweet potato tater tots are also divine, especially with the blackstrap aioli. Slaw is also unique but needed for some freshness. Okra was a bit greasy and could have been a bit crisper, but if you like okra, you won't be disappointed. They got some cool merch too. Well worth a visit if you're in Sedona!

Had to double check though because we walked up and it was a gas station and a jeweler (which also looked to be part of the gas station) but yes, we were in the right place. The smell of the chicken was delightful as soon as the door opened. There was a bit of an unprecedented heat wave in Sedona but they had some potable air units blowing in the dining room to keep it comfortable. There is a sign on the counter that said something like "Pick your sauce level carefully. No refund will be given". They do call themselves the No Apology Chicken Shack. As nearly zero level spice tolerance, I was a little nervous to even go with the mild level. We got the Zinger basket with the coleslaw and the sidewinder fries. The fries were really good! If I were to order again, I'd go with the mac and cheese instead of the coleslaw, but it was super hot out and didn't seem like two hot sides + hot chicken was a good idea. The chicken was hot, that's my opinion. It was hot even at mild. I might have baby taste buds, but I was thankful the fountain drinks were self serve because I needed the cold soda and ice cubes. It was well cooked though and flavorful. I was bummed they were sold out of the pudding because that would have been a nice relief. I should've done the no spice but tried to be brave, a "when in Rome" situation. There were people sitting behind us that eating the hottest level they had and I was convinced they were seconds from combustion. All in all, it was a good experience, would return but would go no spice next time. Oh, one more thing, the bathroom situation was a little strange because you do have to go into the jeweler/gas station situation but it's okay.

We were considering getting cocktails but decided to just get soda because we didn't want to deal with another line and transaction. We both had burgers- I had the jalapeño popper burger which was excellent and my fiancé had the cheddar burger. Burgers are so huge and served with a ton of lettuce and tomato and piled high on a brioche bun. The bun and the apricot BBQ sauce were the best. Real jalapeños and cream cheese. A manager came over to chat with me after we finished and we were just finishing up our sodas and she was super nice and cared to hear our feedback. Bathrooms were also very nice and clean.
