Came here for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation and they sat us inside in a corner table/booth. It was too dark for my liking, I wish we would have sat upstairs but it wasn't offered. The service was solid. They were out the of the wine I originally wanted but my espresso martini was delicious. We ordered so much food as its tapas style. My favorites were the mushroom pizza and gnocchi. The bill was hefty. Lastly, not that it's a big deal, but I brought a cake and it was meant to be a surprise. Unfortunately the server mentioned the cake so many times in front of the whole table (not directly to me), knowing I intentionally came in early to let her know. New spot for a quick cocktail and something to snack on. Vibes were immaculate. Our server, Justin, recommended the moroccan cigars, flatiron steak, the corn, ceviche, and lamb falafel. All were super delicious. Definitely family style. The steak was paired with zucchini which was simple but memorable. Justin took care of us and surprised my friend with a birthday dessert! Since this is a newer restaurant, I set birthday reservations for a party of 4 at 4:15 pm on a Saturday. I was hoping for a smooth experience by beating the busyness of the dinner crowd. Unfortunately, the early dinner did not go as planned. Parking was fine, with street parking and valet available. We arrived at the host stand and were seated almost immediately. Walking into the restaurant was a delight because of how cute it is inside. We were seated and quickly got our drink orders in. Then we ordered the tapas/plates at 4:25ish. Our initial order included the watermelon salad, corn, crudo, oyster mushroom, cigars, flat iron steak, sea bass, burger, pork belly, and asian pear & brie pizza. The server notified us that the asian pear pizza was sold out despite the restaurant just opening; we thought that was a bummer since that was what really caught our eye, so we went ahead with the margherita pizza. Here's where it went wrong with the delay of these tapas arriving at the table... practically 1 plate at a time for a party of 4... 4:41pm Mediterranean corn, 4:45pm crudo, 5:04pm oyster mushroom flatbread, 5:20pm moroccan cigars, 5:23pm margherita pizza with salami, 5:24pm flat iron steak, 5:36pm comped fried chicken tapa + sea bass, 5:37pm burger, 5:42pm pork belly, 6:07pm best cake bday dessert, 6:08pm chocolate cake (we didn't even order it, just a random additional dessert), and 6:12pm rose dessert. We basically had a 2-hour dinner for food that was honestly unimpressive. When we got maybe our third plate, we asked the server where the watermelon salad was since it's a cold item and figured it was quick and easy to make. She checked on it and then told us they were out of watermelon; to her defense, she said no one notified her about the 86'd item. But here's the gag.. As we were nearing the end, there was a party of 3 that were seated maybe an hour after us that looked like they had the asian pear pizza on their table. I asked, and it was indeed the pear pizza (they said it was delicious). Why weren't we notified about it being back in stock and given the option to order it? I think the lack of communication among server/kitchen/management needs major improvement. We voiced our concerns to Justin, the manager. Justin was hospitable, listened, and understood our frustration. I appreciate how he handled the situation. Food review: The items I enjoyed were the fried chicken tapa courtesy of the manager, oyster mushroom flatbread, best cake, and rose dessert. The drinks were great. The corn was okay, the crudo had a questionable texture and was plain, the moroccan cigars were not even filled all the way and were basically 1/3 empty, the marg. pizza was basic, the flat iron steak was good, the sea bass was disappointing, the burger was okay, and the pork belly was overloaded with the hoison-y sauce they used. Came here for the FIRST Time the day prior to July 4th and knew that it would be busy so my friend made reservations about a week prior to visiting. Unfortunately had to knock one star due to one particular host on arrival. There were two hostess and one greeted us with a smile while the other did not. The one that greeted us with a smile asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating after we said we had reservations and we kindly stated "outdoor". However after we said outdoor the hostess that did not smile said "there are no available seats outdoor". Mind you this was at 4:45pm, nearly after they just opened. She guided us inside and we saw that the indoor seating was quite dim and we really wanted to sit where there was more light so we asked if we could possibly try the bar upstairs. The hostess said the bar was likely full. So we decided to shoot our shot anyway. Went upstairs and the bar had two seats and we needed 3. However, the outdoor seating was pretty empty at this time. Another employee approached us and asked if we needed assistance and we told him we have reservations and would like to request outdoor seating so this kind gentleman went to go talk to the host. My friend remembered she was messaging back and forth with someone at the restaurant for confirmation and the restaurant stated they would accommodate outdoor seating. However even though we showed the hostess the text message, she kept trying to dismiss it as if it didn't matter because the initial reservation stated inside. But if you are confirming a reservation and stated we could sit outdoors, I think that should be honored. As a hostess, first impressions are VERY important as you are the first person a customer sees upon entering an establishment. A warm welcome really makes a difference. So despite a rough start to our dining experience. We were kindly accommodated and got to sit outdoors. Our waiter was Noah and he was great. Checked on us often and made a few recommendations. We enjoyed a few cocktails prior to our meal and they were pretty good. Everything on the menu is shareable and tapas style. Our favorite was the Crudo! After an hour, the restaurant got real busy! I would say this place is great for grabbing a nice drink and enjoying conversations! I recommend getting here early if you don't have reservations as there were a lot of people waiting near the bar area and downstairs. I took my girlfriend to dinner last night after hearing amazing things about Bacari Long Beach from social media and from personal experiences of my close friends and family. The food was great, but the service we received was unacceptable for the price that we have to pay. We were sat inside and greeted with some wine on the house, which was a great start. Unfortunately that was the only positive part of our experience. We opted for the 90-minute open bar that costs $40 per head and ordered 4 dishes. Food was great and came out in a timely manner, but our service was unacceptable. Our server, Zoe, only came to check on us three times out of the two hours we spent there. We even asked other staff members to get our server so we can get the most out of the open bar experience, but only to be told that our server would be with us "shortly." By the time she finally showed back up, it was already getting pretty late and we had to start heading back home as it was a work night. That was already upsetting, but the cherry on top of it all is that they charged my card for a 6-top table instead of my party of two. I was overcharged about $130. It appears she lacks attention to detail or needs to be retrained. In the event the restaurant is super busy, some of this can be understandable, but at the time it wasn't even that busy. This type of service for the price we pay for is not okay. 1/10, will not be returning. read more

I received a Yelp alert about a popular new restaurant in LB, so I decided to give it a try! This is a two story establishment, and when we arrived (with a reservation) I asked if we could be seated upstairs to enjoy the beautiful evening and sunset. The hostess said that the only places we could be seated had just been used to seat large parties and she didn't advise wasting our time waiting. Slightly disappointing, but we made our way to a tiny table for two placed in what can be described as a walkway between larger tables on either side- very cramped and several servers accidentally bumped into me over the course of the evening. I was so curious about what the upstairs looked like I decided to go sneak a peek while we waited for our drink orders. Imagine my surprise to see several tables for two open when we were told ten minutes before that a table upstairs would not be possible. Hm. It was rather disappointing to miss the sunset, and as the night continued, the downstairs portion of the restaurant dimmed the lights abruptly and so low that everyone sitting near us remarked on the sudden plunge into darkness and whipped out their cell phone flashlights to see the menu. The menu was a plus- vegan and gluten-free options were very clearly labeled. I had looked ahead and was very impressed with the selection available for us gluten-free folks! This is a tapas style restaurant, and we ordered four items which was more than enough. We enjoyed the Asian Pear pizza on gluten free dough and the chicken schnitzel (a tiny bit spicy- an unexpected surprise). The Bacari Fries were good, but I wish we had skipped them to try some of the other menu items. The charred broccoli was super salty for some reason- we asked for it to be made again but even then it was a bit much for us. The Love Letter cocktail was so fun but quite sweet- it came with a roasted marshmallow on top. And ofc I had to try the Gin and Juice since we were in the LBC- it was great! Not pictured is the Kind of a Big Dill cocktail that got good reviews from the hubby. We took home a piece of The Best Cake, but I have to disagree with the name. I'm not sure if it was because we didn't eat it right away, but by the time we got home and tried it it had a very sticky, mochi - like consistency and reminded us both of butter toffee that had gone stale. Overall, I wanted to love this place because it's adorable and they have a lot of gluten-free options. However, sitting downstairs was dark, cramped, and we learned waaaayyy too much about the people sitting on either side of us due to the lack of space. Our server was sweet, but seemed like she was spread too thin and had a few very high maintenance tables along with ours. Stopped in for brunch with the girls. The service was amazing. This vibe of this location feels more homey than the other location. We sat on the rooftop, so there was a nice breeze. Hands down, one of the best additions to LB! Went there last night for a long awaited date night and Bacari was just what we needed. Valet parking out front, super friendly and attentive service. The food was simply perfect. 10/10. This is tapas style, so a great way to have a little of everything. We had the watermelon with whipped feta, the beets with whipped chèvre, and stuffed mushrooms to start, as well as the lamb cigars, scallops with street corn and salmon on quinoa for our proteins. All of it was perfectly prepared, presented and delicious. For the two of us, we tried 6 dishes. It was our dinner and we were both pretty hungry and he finished whatever was left. On the average night, we could have done with 4, maybe 5 dishes. They also have spirit-free drink options. He had a mock michelada (off menu) and I had a Blushing Botanica, which we were both very pleased with. The atmosphere is beautiful, we sat on the roof top which has a roof that opens. The music was nice and not too loud but enough for ambience. Highly recommend! This will be our new Mediterranean go to! We were so excited for the food that we got no pics! read more

Wish it came with more bread and vegetables. Inspiring me to make this at home! Flat Iron Steak -- Buttery. Perfectly cooked. Delicious sauce. Ricotta & Beet Gnocchi -- Comfort food. It was my first time dining downstairs, and the romantic lighting created the perfect atmosphere for intimate conversations with friends while still feeling lively and welcoming. The food was phenomenal. The Crudo was incredibly fresh and flavorful, easily my favorite cold dish. The burger was one of the best I've had in a while especially with the runny egg!! The flat iron steak was cooked perfectly and easily became one of my favorite dishes. Every recommendation we received was spot on, and the team was also happy to accommodate our requests, including a table change and adjusting the spice level of certain dishes. This made us feel very comfortable and set up for a fun night!! What truly made the night unforgettable was the service. Jackson, Janice, Susie, Sam, and our favorite manager, Justin, went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. They didn't just provide exceptional service to our table--they also made sure my little sister and her group at another table who had an equally wonderful experience. Their attentiveness, hospitality, and genuine kindness made us feel like valued guests from the moment we arrived. I do really appreciate the laughs and the hospitality. To the Danny, You asked for honest feedback, I took the time to provide it, and nothing meaningful came of it. If you're only reaching out to customers to create the appearance of caring, don't bother. Listening without taking action is just another disappointment. This restaurant markets itself as a high-end Mediterranean dining experience, but the service and overall experience fell far short of that standard. From the delays and lack of attentiveness to the poor handling of disruptive guests, it was clear that customer experience wasn't a priority. There are far better options in Los Angeles if you're looking for quality Mediterranean food and service. I'd recommend places like Ammatoli or Casaléna, where the experience actually matches the price. Bacari felt more like overpriced fast food pretending to be upscale. I really like the newest Bacari in Long Beach. There is an outside dining/bar on the roof and a dual inside dining area on the first level on the southside of 2nd Street. The food is truly Bacari style served in a tapas format. I chose the Taco Shawarma, Skakshouka and Crab Benedict. The food was prepared well except for the Benedict which did'nt show up. The manager was still able to have it made for me to take home after half an hour of waiting. I'm not sure where the ball was dropped, but am still a Bacari fan. read more

The food was very enjoyable. They have a great variety of delicious options. Wonderful for date night or a group outing. My party interacted primarily with 3 individuals. The manager Abraham was very personable and visited us often to ensure our satisfaction. He highlighted our server Sam as the man. Unfortunately, Sam was a let down. He was very forgetful. He responded to every request with an endearing "of course", then he would move on and forget for 5-10 minutes. When he returned and we asked again, the reply was "of course", then he'd forget.. he needs to get it together. Luckily a young man named Derek came to the rescue later and delivered on each request without needing to be asked a 2nd or 3rd time. I get that the restaurant was busy, but that's no excuse. Side note: Sam, don't call your customer "boss", try "my friend", trust me. I must mention the lighting. They keep the restaurant abnormally dark. We arrived at 6, it was very dark and the competing daylight made it worse. Once it got dark outside, it finally got a bit better, until just after 8pm when they dimmed the lights further. So strange. What good is serving creative, (i think) vibrant dishes if your customers can't see it? If I am to rely solely on candle light, each table needs 3 or 4, not 1. Last mention, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert which was delicious. Though Sam never mentioned that the cast iron would be scolding hot. We didn't burn ourselves because we assumed it would be, but he should absolutely caution the guest. He needs to be trained on that as well. We visited this place few weeks ago and had such a great experience. Everything was amazing -- the staff, the food, and the decor. Gabe recommended a few dishes for us, and every single one was delicious. I was especially surprised by how extensive their gluten-free menu is. Most restaurants only have a handful of gluten-free options, but the list here was huge! I'm the only one in our group who needs to eat gluten-free, and everyone still loved everything we ordered. My personal favorites were the gluten-free mushroom pizza and the watermelon salad -- both were absolutely delicious. I also ordered the sangria, which was great. Another outstanding addition to the growing LBC food scene. I've been to Bacari on 3rd St in LA and loved it. I couldn't wait for it to open here ever since I heard that they would be taking over the beloved Michael's place in Naples. They have done an amazing makeover and the decor will instantly transport you to the Mediterranean. Parking in the street can be difficult to find, especially on weekends but they have valet for $15. We were welcomed right from the door. We sat upstairs. It was beautiful especially after sunset. The staff were very friendly but as we went on a busy Saturday evening a few days after opening, they were still getting their act together and service was irregular. The only other issue was that the tables are very close to each other and it's very loud inside making it difficult to talk. The drinks are okay but the food is spectacular and very well priced. Plates are for sharing. They were sold out of their famous Moroccan Cigars. The lamb kebabs were delicious. The Chicken wings were outstanding with amazing flavors. I also loved the Pear and Brie pizza, while my partner liked her Sea Bass. The chocolate cake dessert was excellent. read more

The food is amazing, it's honestly hard to even choose one thing as my favorite because literally everything is 10/10. I also book my company's employee outings and had to take that opportunity and book an entire room at this location for a dinner. The ambience was very intimate and such a vibe, everyone was raving about it for weeks after and is still literally talking about the food today and that was around a month ago. The service was top notch for our dinner, especially a big shout out to Justin & Brandon. They were both so on point the entire night and everything moved smoothly and quickly. Just how I like it! We had about three different servers helping us throughout the night, and at times there seemed to be some confusion about whether we had already ordered certain drinks or dishes. We also had to remind our waitress that we were still waiting on the steak we ordered. The restaurant was also very loud and the tables are pretty close together, so we found ourselves having to speak loudly just to hear each other. The drinks were good, although they were a little on the sweeter side for our taste. Overall, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! Despite a few hiccups with the service and atmosphere, we'd definitely keep Bacari on our list of places to return to, maybe just on a less busy night! We really wanted to love this place because my wife and I had such a great experience at the LA location, so we were really excited when the Long Beach location opened. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed with both the service and the overall experience. That said, we understand that they just opened and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We were celebrating our anniversary and had mentioned it in our reservation. The host was exceptional, and our waitress was great at the beginning as well. Unfortunately, the service went downhill from there. It took a long time for us to get our waiter's attention to order drinks, and even longer to place our food order. I will say that the drinks were good, and the food itself wasn't bad. The most disappointing part came toward the end of our meal. After we finished eating, we ordered dessert, but our empty plates and drink glasses were left on the table while we waited. We're used to having the table cleared after a meal, especially before dessert, so we could actually enjoy it without all the clutter. Our table was also pretty small and barely had enough room for additional plates. When the dessert finally came out, it was simply placed in the middle of all of our dirty dishes without anyone asking if we wanted the table cleared. It was a small thing, but it really took away from the experience, especially since we were celebrating our anniversary. We had high expectations coming in because we loved the LA location, so it was honestly a bummer to leave feeling this way. Hopefully, as they settle in, they're able to improve the service because the LA location is a much better experience in our opinion. one of the most delicious restaurants i've ever been to!! loved every single dish here!! the manager, Kyle, was the best! made us feel so welcomed and treated us amazing the dishes here have portions on the smaller side, but that means we get to order and try a lot more! & there is A LOT to choose from!! came during their soft opening and it was a pretty busy friday night my table of 4 people ordered: -chicken schnitzel -lamb hummus -scallop medallions -chef's salmon -sea bass -brussels sprouts -asian pear & brie pizza -espress yourself & strawberry fizz forever FAVORITES are the brussels sprouts, sea bass, lamb hummus, and salmon but honestly not a single dish that i did not enjoy, flavors and sauces were all so delicious we were damn near licking our plates clean this is a dimly lit restaurant with lots of seats although it can feel a little bit cramped, i love the ambiance of the place though!! recommend making a reservation before coming here i will definitely be returning!! read more

Came here Friday night for friends and family soft opening. Had a wonderful dining experience at their rooftop. We ate till we passed out. Elena was our server and she took care of us. She suggested some of our favorites and answered all of our questions. What stood out most to me was the Moroccan cigars. Sea bass, Asian pear & brea pizza and crudo. Also enjoyed the grill chicken breast, mostly the caper sauce. I didn't want them to take the sauce away because it was that good. I was figuring out how to use it as dip. I told one of the staff members how much I liked the sauce and wanted to soak it in bread. They gave me a comp pita bread to try out. They said it's made in house. The pita bread was soft, warm and fluffy. I would suggest to order pita bread if you're a fan of it. You won't be disappointed, it's really good. I liked the love letter if you like a not too sweet cocktail and Tokyo sunset if you like a citrus cocktail. The music was a smorgasbord of everything. I heard dance, jazz, hip-hop, disco, etc. cool spot for everyone, lots of big groups at the rooftop. I saw someone coming upstairs with their big dog when I was going downstairs to leave. I check out down stairs, more ideal if you want a romantic dinner, maybe a bit quieter. Overall, Highly recommend!
