We made a reservation to visit the Speakeasy, and overall a pleasant experience: 1. The iced lattes were decent - not the most aromatic and flavorful espresso, but they weren't too sweet or bitter; the cold foam were the highlights - pistachio is a true flavor and preferred it over the tiramisu. 2. Good surprise to see the Tuscan focaccia sandwich being a large portion for two people; turkey isn't always our first choice of protein but the garlic aioli with a squeeze of lemon made the sandwich pop! 3. We also enjoyed the caramel cheesecake croissant - great texture and plenty of the silky filling. Also, no complaints about the house bread :) 4. The ambience in the room was well executed, from the wallpaper to the lush props, and cannot forget about the big and bright moon! 5. The hostess and waiter were very welcoming, and even accommodated our table change request (wanted a view of the Tuscan moon) Take Caution: 1. Located in an in-construction space, the cafe is tucked in the back, with like 5 1-hour parking spaces reserved for their cafe goers. We did not want to test the "reserved" signs" in case we get towed. 2. We get seated at 12:50pm, right before our 1pm reservation time. However, we didn't get to place our order until 1:15pm, and the food/lattes came out at 1:35pm. Maybe short staffed? Since they close at 2pm, that gave us 25 minutes to dine in. I think since it was an odd hour parking was easy, but I could see it being tough in the mornings or maybe even on weekdays. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that there are so many pistachio options!!! I opted for the Pistachio Matcha Latte, and my boyfriend got the Tiramisu Latte. Both were DELICIOUS!! They both were exactly what you'd expect, the flavor was on point but they weren't too sweet. You could actually taste the pistachio and the tiramisu notes in the lattes. We ordered the Chocolate Pistachio Croissant too and that came out toasted, crunchy, and it had ample filling. Inside the cafe there are several different rooms with different vibes, all IG friendly. The first room has a willow tree vibe with notes on the hanging branches. Super cute and large coffee & lunch spot. Perfect for small reception to celebrate a special occasion. I made reservations as I was under the impression that this was the only way to dine in their Speakeasy and order from their Under the Tuscan Moon Exclusive Menu. I made a reservation for a Friday for 3 at 11am. I arrived 15 minutes early. I only saw 3 staff members in the food prep area. No dedicated Host/Hostess or Cashier. From my observation, what made them busy was not enough staffing - it was not heavy with customers. I noticed guests seat themselves in the Speakeasy so reservations aren't necessary but recommended incase they book up. Reservations only through Open Table with a $10/person no show/-48 hour cancelation fee. After about 40 minutes sitting at the table chatting with no one checking in on us, I got up and placed our order at the order window. I felt bad for the young lady working the register as she was also busy making and serving drinks. While 2 young men also hustled in the back to keep up with orders. Super friendly staff even under the pressure. The drinks and food came out pretty quickly and presentation was lovely. Again, staff was not readily available to call on and we had to look for staff to request for napkins and drink adjustments. My Filthy Chai Latte was delicious - I recommend ordering it extra hot. My friend's Iced Signature Latte tasted watered down. My daughter enjoyed her Iced Bellissimo. I appreciated that they had milk alternatives and we ordered 2 drinks with Almond Milk. They also had options to adjust sweetness level. The Toast Flight was perfect - sourdough toast had the perfect stiff crust with a flaky, crunchy, soft chew to the toast. The toppings were fresh and seasoned nicely. The Don sandwich had chunks of marinated dark meat chicken rating it 4/10 for me - we assumed it would be chicken breast. The Beaches & Capri came with chunks of marinated dark meat chicken (same as in The Don) rather than a chicken salad - the description read "Chicken Salad w/Spinach, Arugula, Cherry Tomatoes, Croutons, Parmesan, Italian Dressing, Balsamic Glaze". I loved their Intentions Tree and the decor. I would definitely return as I loved their Toast Flight & Chai. Hopefully they are more staffed. Training your personnel before you have them taking orders! It's not unfortunate when an order is not taken correctly it's a reflection on the store as a whole. After a long wait for the rest of the order to be sent out, I would think that management would at least do more than "I'm sorry" . The coffee and food were tasty and would recommend the Amalfi toast, would say that was outstanding from our time there. The decorations in the store are very unique, a very girl friendly atmosphere which is pleasant, however the building is either undergoing renovation or just abandoned and the restroom has and out of order sign on and refers customers to go to a second level in the building. No other signage on this spilt level will leave some folks lost. The bathroom was a disgusting area that should not be used. Health department would close if they went there!! Cannot recommend this business based on the lack of their services for customers an important part of anyone's experience when going out. Hope you can fix this or at a minimum make it better for all who use facilities. read more

We got here around 10:45am on a Saturday and waited in line for 20 minutes, then another 45 minutes for our drinks. We got 4 drinks and the total was around $34. The wait was due to there not being enough people making drinks/food so it was really backed up. The poor cashier was multitasking, occasionally coming to the window to take orders AND making drinks at the same time. They definitely need to hire some extra hands to help with the orders. Food - 3.5/5 1.) avocado toast - The poached egg was overcooked and for the price, I wish they were two vs one egg. The ingredients did balance each other. 2.) breakfast sandwich on sourdough - nothing wowed us on this and it felt like something we could've made at home. Also, there's sandwich wasn't serve hot and felt it was sitting in the kitchen before it came out. Drinks - 4/5 We ordered an iced pistachio matcha and a hot pistachio latte. The matcha was good and wasn't overly sweet. The latte could've been hotter. For 2 16 oz drinks and 2 food items, we paid $42. The drinks were definitely on the pricey side. I feel as though I've stumbled upon a hidden gem. Emphasis on both hidden and gem. It's in a pretty strange location, to the point where you may wonder if it's some little stand inside a residential lobby, but walk inside and you'll see that it's a full-on, beautiful cafe. It's dark and cozy inside, so the ambiance is just lovely for a date. The drinks aren't the cheapest, some go over $8 if you get a large size. Their specialty is the pistachio latte, so I ordered it with light ice. I am happy to report that they fill the glass up all the way to the top. It's my biggest cafe pet peeve when a place skimps you, but Baci gives you the full cup. The rim of the glass is lined with pistachio butter and pistachio bits, and the latte is strong in pistachio flavor. I love that nothing about this drink was weak or watered down at all. My husband got a cinnamon cold brew, which he said was good. He also got a caprese panini (not too pricy) and it was served with a lemon on the side. The extra attention to detail is really appreciated by the customers, and speaking of, customer service is great. I'm so happy I found this cafe and I'll hopefully visit often! Tried this place out with one of my girlfriends, and it was a pleasant surprise! Its in a very unassuming parking lot (which honestly, is difficult to maneuver and was a bit of an issue grabbing one of the spots marked specifically for Baci; the other spots are numbered and not sure if they're parkable or reserved for any other businesses) but its beautiful inside! The decor is very green and they have a couple of offerings you can easily grab and go like boxed crackers and such, before you get to the front and can order at the window. The menu is full of delights and they do have some seasonal offerings. I personally grabbed their avocado toast, a honey walnut croissant, and their iced butterscotch latte. My girlfriend got their caprese sandwich, a pistachio croissant, and their matcha. All were delicious! My favorites were really their croissants. They weren't overly sweet and had a great crunch to chewy ratio. Their lattes were also really good and makes me want to try out everything else on their menu. I do believe that they have slightly different lunch options to choose from so I'd come back here again to look into that. There was also a tree that you were welcome to write some intentions to - there was a little station for it and everything, and when you were done writing on the little piece of paper, they provided a clothespin you can use to attach to the tree. It makes it clear that the team at Baci will work with you if you're unhappy. That said, I personally think the Tiramisu latte at $9.50 after tax is costly and it was true that my experience that day was subpar so will keep this portion of the review: I've had the tiramisu latte before and it was delicious and beautiful- you could see the espresso at the bottom with milk and thick cream and a sprinkle of cocoa on top. When I picked up my drink on Sunday, it looked like a regular latte with a heavy dusting of cocoa which was frustrating considering the cost and lack of consistency. It's bad when your fave coffee goes up in price because of inflation but it's malicious when it goes up in price and down in quality. Hopes are that the team will continue to improve as some of them may be new :-) read more

I was looking forward to checking out this newer coffee shop in Mission Valley after seeing their "Moon Room" on Instagram. I stopped by on a Wednesday and was bummed to learn their speak easy is only open Thursday through Sunday with an Open Table reservation. They were kind enough to let me peek inside, though, and the place is super pretty. I placed an order at the window and Daniel and the rest of the staff were super friendly. This viral coffee shop did not disappoint! It is in an odd location. Entering through a narrow long pathway, you must follow all the signs! It is in an apartment complex. I was also surprised by how big this place is! They have a reservation only section and 2 open Cafe sections. The decor was stunning. It's a great place to work or hang out of you can find parking.
