Craving BBQ for dinner and new to Henderson. We found Lickin Good Smokin BBQ on a Saturday night around 6:00pm. There was no one in the restaurant and service was attentive. We ordered the 3 meat dish and chose Ribs, Pork Belly and Brisket. Everything was good, but not the best BBQ we've had - we've had some amazing ones in the midwest. Ok we ordered a 2 meat combo and two sides to share. We were not pleased with the 3 pieces of brisket it felt like it it needed at least one more piece since it was double piece meal~so they are not generous with there double meat helping .Ok how do you spilt 3 pieces without a knife which I had to go ask one of the 2 workers for, the utensils are kept behind the counter where the staff is. Also disappointed that there was no peach cobbler. Also disappointed that one bbq White Alabama Sause they were out of. The cashier worker poor thing was wearing a mask so maybe she wasn't getting enough oxygen. Oh yeah the cashier literally tossed the wrapped pecan pie slice on our tray, as she forgot it when we got our tray, without the proper utensils. The ambiance was fine bathrooms clean. Once my husband knew the stuffed turkey leg existed, we had to try it. And it was everything we hoped it would be. The turkey was tender, the mac and cheese yummy, and it has bacon. My husband is what I would call a "regular" here. He comes in at least once a week and gets his food to go. He is definitely outgoing and likes to talk/joke. He always gets to know the employees at places he frequents - it's just his thing. He loves the brisket and sausage and always orders fries. Food wise, Lickin Good is a two thumbs up. However, the food isn't the only part of a restaurant experience. A few weeks ago he went to order his usual meal to go and was met with a less than friendly attitude. The usual employee helped him and was irritated from the start. He loves the smell of their bbq and while placing his order he said he could just stand there and smell the bbq all day. To which she replied "I don't care. What do you want to eat?" It has only gotten worse from there. The owner couldn't care less about his employees attitudes - he barely looked up from his phone while my husband shared his concerns. My husband kept going back because he tried to give them the benefit of the doubt (must just be a bad day! I'm sure next time will be better!). Well today was his last visit there. Once again the same employee treated him like the dirt on her shoe. I asked him why the heck does he keep spending his money there, to which he finally agreed. They have made it painfully clear they don't want his business - message received loud and clear! Bottom line: The food is good if you can stomach the way they treat you. read more

The WORST customer service EVER! A large man standing impatiently at the register just staring at us and never said hello, can I help you. No smile, obviously not happy with his life. He said he doesn't make Mac n cheese anymore cause he made it for 20 years and that if you want it you can open up your own business and serve it. The rudest and most ridiculous answer from a restaurant. The only reason for 2 stars is that an African American woman was working there and was very sweet. Everything I've had has been Fire!!! The brisket, pulled pork & the turkey all get 5 starts, smoked & grilled to perfection. The brisket you can get normal, lean or extra lean so thats a nice option to have depending on how you like fat or not on your meat. The fries, potato salad & chili were all very good sides I've had so far. This is 1 of my go to restaurants every few weeks or less. read more

I went here for lunch today for the first time. It was a little before noon so the staff weren't busy & very helpful. They recommended the brisket sandwich with frys. I didn't dine in, but it looked like an inviting ambiance. There sweat BBQ sause seemed the best, so I grabbed some to add to my sandwich. The sandwich was amazing the meat was tender & yummy after adding a little BBQ. I liked the coleslaw that was on it also. Made for a great combo. The frys looked cool & tasted better. Good meat but terrible sides. I thought after they changed hands that the sides would get better but they didn't. They could really use some fried okra or Mac & cheese or grilled pineapple. Again really nice people with really good knowledge of smoking meat but for $50 for two people you want your sides to taste good. I'll keep checking back from time to time. Having moved to the area recently we are always on the hunt for our favorite foods and BBQ is definitely on that list. We have been referred to and tried different places in the area, but Lickin Good is the best by far. Their staff is very friendly and helpful, the place is clean and the food is amazing! I judge BBQ by the quality of their brisket and this was right up there among the best I've ever had... moist, tender, slightly juicy and very flavorful! We also tried their ribs which were also quite good... full of flavor... no sauce needed unless that's the way you like it. If you go, you must try the Corn & Cheese. Normally this would be just too "carby" for me, but other reviews raved about it, so we tried it... TO DIE FOR! It's not just cheesy corn... it's much more complex than that with tantalizing flavor. The beans are delicious too. It's a little out of my way, but definitely worth the trip. Can't wait to work my way through other menu items. read more

At first i thought this was a totally new food place but when i walked in i noticed it was the exact same layout as the old place which changed about 6 months ago. It was chicken coop or something with chicken in the title. Anyways i ordered the brisket and 1 side which was baked beans. It was decent.....it really needs more seasoning the meat as very bland. The beans was very unexpected and it was bland also. I would go back & try something else but I'm hesitant. The "toast" is actually a piece of wheat bread that she pulled directly from the bag to the plate, no toasting at all. And it said it comes with a pickle but no pickle was there. My suggestion is add more seasoning and i know I'm not the only one who wants their bread soaking in bbq sauce lol put the bread at the bottom and the meat on top. I was very excited to try this new bbq place with seemingly great food. The food we got was 100% different than what is pictured all over this yelp page. We received ribs and brisket that were dry and rubbery. The chili was very greasy. The only good thing we received was the pulled pork sandwich, which was piled high with pulled pork. I would love to give this place a real review, but unfortunately both times I have tried to visit this place they were closed well before their listed business hours. The other reviews have me believing that they actually make really good bbq, but it doesn't look like I will ever be able to actually try it. Add that to the fact that they don't do mobile orders and they don't answer their phone past a certain time pickup orders aren't possible, so if you come after 6pm have a backup plan ready because you probably won't be eating here. read more

Where do I start? This was my first time trying this place. I ordered two sandwiches and a half rack of ribs. They wanted to run separate transactions because they didn't know how to ring up everything at once. I should have taken that as a sign to leave. The employee figured out the register and we were under way. Another employee came in through the back door and immediately started dropping F bombs as he was asking questions about meats that hadn't been prepared yet. Another employee had to tell him he couldn't speak like that. The foul mouthed employee then immediately started handling food without even washing his hands. I even watched him drop a container of BBQ sauce on the floor, picked it back up, and stuck it in a food container with a to-go order. The half rack of ribs was very sad for the price. The food was tasty, great texture, and not dry. I'm a bit of a bbq snob because I enjoy smoking various meats myself. The pulled pork had a dry rub I wasn't a fan of but my son loved it. The pork was moist with a good amount of smoke flavor, and not salty. The brisket was great nice and juicy, flavorful, with some good bark built up on it. Now for the pork ribs, I couldn't tell if they were smoked to be honest but it might have been because I went for the brisket first. The ribs had a nice soft moist texture not overly cooked where it's just pulled pork with a bone. They could be eaten by itself but paired well with the bbq sauce. I they were out of a few things on the menu despite it being lunch time but I wouldn't knock them for that. I would rather go to an establishment that has good quality food and a few things missing over a full menu with mediocre food. The service there was great too, they were very attentive. read more

This is our second time getting Bad to the bone BBQ delivered via Grubhub so I can only imagine what it's like fresh in house. Their rubs they use on the chicken and brisket is amazing. Macaroni and cheese super creamy. Beans, cornbread, corn on the cob all great. I think these guys surpass Lucilles for best BBQ in the henderson area looking forward to trying ribs and more menu items soon! read more

We tried this place out and don't get me wrong most of the food was decent but the prices are astronomical... I even saw a post on here from a month ago where some of the prices haven risen almost $10. When people mention the employees attitudes though, they are right. The girl was screaming about how you don't go to bbq and then ask for a salad, go to subway and refused to sell a salad to a guy in front of us. And after the price I could've gotten 8 subway sandwiches instead of 2 plates and 1 chicken combo. I haven't paid $80 for 3 people to eat at a fast paced restaurant ever in my life... to be honest, just drive a little further to water street and get biscuits and bourbon, get good bbq, good service and yummy drinks for $80 total. don't think we will return here. read more
