First off we had to pay upfront and tip upfront for food that we had not received on our table just yet. It was a little strange, but we went with it. The food is all reasonably priced, and when we received our food, it was piping hot, which was great. But the spice wasn't there for the seasoning in the bags of shrimp and lobster tail. We've had other places that had more spice in it, which is what we like. But it did have good seasoning just wasn't as hot (spice wise) as we would've liked. I order out from this place at least four times a year. It's pretty good for being the only one in Fairfield/Suisun. It's better tasting than the one in Vacaville, but the restaurant ambient in Vacaville is better. It's a little pricy and not always the same taste/flavor--a little stingy on condiments and extras like lime, salt, pepper, etc. (most to-go orders or yelp orders do not have limes or that salt/pepper mixture) Service is where they lose their star. Their service is nonexistent. Most people I have interacted with don't want to be there. Customer service is out the window. No actual greeting, phone calls are very to the point (They take your order and will be ready in x amount of time, without any friendliness or greetings. ) We ate there last night, and as I looked around the restaurant, I saw they needed to do some cleaning. What was supposed to be a fantastic reunion with friends has now turned into a disaster. While the atmosphere was decent and the server was nice and patient there was many unfortunate aspects to this experience. I had ordered king crab (which was the most expensive item on the menu) and instead of receiving a warm and fully cooked crab I reserved a frozen on the inside cold king crab. When kindly asking the server about this she (in a timely and respectful manner) she brought it to the manager. Instead of asking how he can fix things he had put the piece of frozen crab in a bag and stated he "reheated it." I am appalled by the lack of professionalism as well as a waste of my money. Visited this location twice, both me experiences were very similar and fair. It's usually not busy and there's minimal service provided. They have QR codes on the napkin holders to scan the menu. They also come around to offer physical menus, they place your order, bring out your food and utensils, after that they may come around once to ask if you need anything but they're not consistent. On my first visit I went for a combo #2 which includes crab, shrimp, hot links & potatoes. Some garlic noodles and a side of rice. The crab boil is oily but that's most crab boils.... Boil, garlic noodles & rice were tasty. Pricing is pretty fair. On my 2nd visit I wanted to try something new so I went with calamari and clam chowder. My mom tries to sit at a table away from environmental triggers, so she was feeling uncomfortable with where we were seated and asked if we could move to a different table. When asked, an employee told us it was for EMPLOYEES ONLY. What? Great customer service huh? But a few minutes later, two guests were able to sit at that table. When asked why we could not have been moved first (we didn't even order our food yet), the server's excuse was basically blaming their manager. On top of that, she was blatantly rude. Unfortunately, we didn't even get her name because she never introduced herself. I fully understand that whatever open table you get is what you get but when it isn't extremely busy and there are a few open spots open and it is not really reserved, then why are we denied to be seated at a different spot to comfortably enjoy our food? First off, price: it seems more expensive than its competitors and for what you actually get I would personally seek a more known location. Theres also almost no customer service. You order via QR code and wait for the food. If you need something you get up and ask at the counter. Flavor: I was not wow'd. Its your standard boil if you order Atomic seasoning. Absolutely nothing special about it at all in terms of taste. it lacked flavor and the sauce does not stick on the seafood. I also got Dynamite I for the spice level, which was surprisingly not spicy. Though I will say the shrimp was not overcooked and they were pretty large pieces. VERY disappointing that they did not have Thirteen Spice/Mala/&Savory flavor options as listed on their other locations menu as well as a few pictures shown for this location as this is the reason I came and probably would have set them apart for me. Finally, a cajun boil closer to home. Being in the North Bay, there seems to a lack of some kinds of restaurants. Usually I needed to head out to the East Bay or Sacramento are for cajun boil restaurants, but now there's one a little bit closer with Bag O' Crab. As of this review, I've visited twice so far. I've had: Deep fried soft-shell crab basket; 1 lb shrimp w/ sausage slices; Chicken strip basket. The soft-shell crab was good, but you do only get 1 with a basket of fries. It felt a little expensive for what you get. The 1 lb of shrimp bag was pretty good. I had the Atomic Sauce (all seasoning options) Mild. The shrimps were pretty big and the seasoning is one of the better ones I've had. I was bit disappointed with the Chicken strip basket though. The chicken strips were only lightly breaded, unlike a usual one that you'd think of at other restaurants. The strips were also a little bland. For both baskets, the fries didn't stand out much. They were really thinly sliced and lightly seasoned and bland as well. The staff is really nice in my experience, and the boil meal come out pretty quickly. Ordered the gumbo, lemon chicken wings and garlic noodles. The gumbo was unlike any other gumbo I've had before. I'd steer clear or check out Chez Soul. The Lemon pepper chicken was seasoned deliciously and they were tasty. The garlic noodles portion size was hefty and they weren't that bad. The Dungeness crab is really good, just make sure they clean it. It's an extra $1 but worth it. The shrimp with the head on aren't cleaned. Very comfortable seating, ample parking, and multiple TVs showing the game (for those interested in not falling behind your sports games, this is the place for you). My bf and I ordered: - 1 lb shrimp with the atomic sauce (combo of all sauces) medium spice with sausage. It was actually pretty spicy at first but it got better as I continued eating it. First I would like to say the paying before you eat is absolutely crazy. If it wasn't for my Aunt I would have left. I see why they do that. Seafood was flavorless. Only thing I could taste was garlic. No spice not flavorful AT ALL. all the boil spots I've been too I've never had this happen to me. My Aunt also agreed that the seasoning and flavor really missed the mark. After I ate we both immediately felt sick. We both had food poisoning real bad that night into the next day. They also have their Market Price listings next to the entrance so you can have an idea of their current per pound prices. I ordered C2 which included: 1 lb of shrimp 1 lb of Clams 2 corns 2 potatoes 4 sausage slices This portions was good enough for 2 people! You also then get to pick the sauce you want it cooked in. See, for me, I love and enjoy spicy foods. I thought their " Medium Spicy" will be tolerable. Oh my, it was very flavorful, but, I couldn't eat a lot because of the heat kicking in. I also added an order of steamed rice to go with it. They also will serve your extra lemons as well as salt and pepper to make your own dipping sauce. The excuse was it's due to "Covid" which made no sense at all, excessive "dine and dash" would have been a better excuse. When a dozen of fresh shucked oysters arrived most were super tiny. Hey, I get it, oysters come in different sizes. They came with no cocktail sauce and no lemons instead they came with limes? I had to request the rest. I was in the area with some friends and decided to hit up this new seafood place for dinner. First off, I'm glad to have Bag O' Crab in the area because I used to have to go to the South or East Bay, or the Peninsula to get my Cajun seafood fix on, so this restaurant is definitely welcomed! Next, expect a wait, especially since this place is new and hyped, and because the restaurant isn't too huge. On to the food! We wound up ordering a pound of crawfish, a pound of shrimp, and the crab leg mix. Everything tasted pretty good and flavorful, and the food came out pretty quickly. The only thing is the amount of crab legs didn't really justify the price of the crab leg mix IMO, so I probably wouldn't order that again. I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions and I have had good experiences and bad but after today, I had to write a review highlighting my overall experience because the customer service from the manager and the food were just unacceptable. Today I called in a order and as I am driving, I realize I left my face mask. I grabbed a shirt and wrapped it around my nose and mouth prior to entering the restaurant. I have done this many times with no issue because the law says "facial covering" meaning a mask, bandana or other fabrics that are used to make a mask or cover the mouth and nose. Upon entering, I was told by the manager that I need a facial mask. I informed her that what I had on was a covering and was sufficient. She told me I needed to leave because I didn't have an actual "mask" with loops. I told her that I already ordered and she rolled her eyes and grabbed a mask to give to me. As I said thank you, she responded very rudely, "you need to make sure you have a mask" at this point I got upset because I had on a face covering when I entered. She seemed very upset for whatever reason. When I got home and unpackaged my food. I noticed some of the crab looked to be rotted... On another occasion prior to the quarantine, we called ahead of time and asked what time they closed. She told me 10:00pm but when I looked online, the actual close time was 10:30pm. It was a fire so traffic was horrible but we tried to make it for dinner. We arrived 37mins before 10:30 and were denied service. They like to close early and leave minutes after close time so they deny people service so they can go home. I am not sure who the owner is but you should really look into hiring some new staff members. I spend $60.00 every time I come here and the level of customer service is subpar almost every time and judging from the other 330 reviews, I am not the only one who feels this way. I needed a place to chill and hang out, being that I was far from home, I wanted to wait until traffic died down. I've eaten at the Bag o' Crab in the city of San Leandro it was really nice, so I tried here. The lemon pepper wings I love with the garlic fries I knew immediately what I wanted to order. As usual the food was excellent it was the service that was a little "I don't know". I reminded the older gentleman that I wanted to eat there, they put the order in as to go. Sometime after my food arrived, I had to ask someone for a class of water. I needed something to wash down the fried food and it was hot that day. A young group of 5 came in, they were seated, the waiter told them to order online on their cell phones, then come up to the counter to pick it up. This restaurant was in no way crowded, maybe 5 tables at most with patrons. No one came by to check on my table after the food was served and I was given a nice glass of ice water. I retrieved my own drinking straw from the area that also had napkins not far from me. The theme is still great and I enjoyed watching all the big screen TV's while dining. I approached the counter to request a bag for my left over individual containers. It's mostly young high school kids working with the exception of the older gentleman. She was very nice, quickly cleaned off our table and sat us down as well as worked fast and furious to get our concerns taken care of. The sweet potato fries were tasty too; they're served with sugar on top. I prefer salt on my sweet potato fries but to each their own. The seafood bag we ordered was served nice and hot. My only complaint is that the "sauce" was mainly just oil with garlic and spice. Despite this, the cashier was able to take the bag off our bill which was very nice. As we were eating, a lot of people were coming in and out to place orders. This shows that they are very popular and people enjoy their food. I have always been a seafood boil fan. I was utterly obsessed with Boiling Crab for the longest time and I must say that now I am totally excited for this restaurant! When I came in I ordered the C1 with the atomic sauce a little bit spicy and another order of 1lb of shrimp. The sauce was VERY good! Unique on its own but you tasted all the flavor! I was very happy with it! The inside was very relaxed other customers were very casual and just in their own conversation. Customer service was awesome! Came here because my boyfriend's sister was craving seafood boil. This was my first time trying it and I just wanted to share my experience. We came here on a weekend around opening and were seated right away. Our waiter had a big party and was tending to them before she was able to introduce herself and take our order, which was definitely understandable. We ended up ordering and sharing C2 -- which comes with 1 lb of shrimp, 1 lb of clams, sausages, two pieces of corn, and potatoes. We ordered it with atomic seasoning (mild) and ordered two rice, a side of fries, and two Sprites. All our food came out piping hot and in a timely matter. The seafood was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. The sauce -- which everyone had complained was thick and flavorless tasted pretty darn delicious to us. I was going back and dipping my clams and sausages in the bag because it was that yummy. You could see large chunks of garlic and seasoning, which causes the sauce to be quite thick -- so if you're not a fan of thick sauces... maybe this isn't the place for you. The rice was perfectly cooked and my boyfriend said his fries were yummy. He also wanted me to explain that their corn was pretty bomb. Not your typical struggle when eating corn where it's tough to pull the corn off the cob. So, make sure to try add that to your bag! I was full but not overly stuffed when we left. And since we shared, our bill wasn't crazy. Our waiter refilled our water. And she was attentive despite her slow start from the big party she had to deal with. I should mention that they offer bibs AND gloves. So any of you that hate to get your hands wet, they got you! Next time, I would definitely get it a bit spicier since my taste buds weren't really tingling from choosing mild. But other than that, it was a great experience! read more
