The time I did come w e ordered a pound of king crab legs each, some shrimp, and eggs with Luisiana mild sauce. The Luisiana sauce was good but the crab was over cooked, so was the shrimp and the garlic noodles. Kinda disappointing mostly with all these great reviews I had higher expectations. The service was really cut quick like they over seat their sections and once your food comes, they never come to check on you unless it's to give you the check way later, you have to hunt them down to order another soda or anything else. Came here for a last minute birthday dinner. For a table of 6, we were lucky to have only waited 20-30 min. The place was packed! The aroma of the food smelled pleasant upon entrance. The waitress instantly came and took our drink and appetizer order. Shortly after, she reappeared with our beverages. I ordered the baked oysters, super garlicky but weren't heavily baked. They were still raw like oysters on the half shell. I'm not a fan of raw oysters and so I probably wouldn't order those again. I also ordered the garlic bread which came with 3, soft, fluffy garlic breads that are similar to texas toast found in the freezer section. But it didn't taste like freezer food. For my meal I ordered the lobster tail, chose the atomic flavor, medium heat. It comes with 1 corn and 1 potato. If you aren't super hungry, order this. It was just enough to be filling without needing a to-go bag. You can also add more corn, sausage, etc to your bag. Medium heat tasted like mild to me. But I like heat. I could go up a notch next time. I also had more juice than the other bags at the table and I assume that is because I didn't have much in my bag. It wouldn't be a good time if I didn't order the sparking rose. No disappointments! My niece ordered the 1lb. frozen crawfish. She said it was a 8/10. It was good, had a few pieces that were large and was excited to see that. She added boiled eggs to her bag. Also got the atomic flavor and no heat. If you love to eat spicy and you love a seafood boil, this is the spot! My family has been ordering takeout from here ever since they took over the old pub and we finally dined in for a birthday dinner. We were able to make a reservation online ahead of time for a large party. Their combos are similar to other seafood boil restaurants, order by the pound of your choice of shellfish, seasoning, spice level, and add-ins. My perfect amount of heat is in their mild atomic sauce. Shrimp here has always been very well-cooked, never too small or overcooked where it becomes almost crumbly. I really enjoyed the crawfish this time around too. As with a lot of places, crawfish tends to be hit or miss, but this time they were plump and tasted more lobster-like than usual. Aside from their bags, you can't go wrong with garlic noodles. The noodles are buttery and savory with a touch of sweetness. We also ordered a plate of oysters which were clean and had a good brine. Service from our hosts and servers were excellent as well. They were very patient while taking all our orders and brought out more than enough condiments, napkins, water, etc. They were able to keep our cake in their fridge until we were ready for it. It's a set price, so if the market value for crab is higher, you might be getting a smaller crab on that day. We became friends with our server and she was super attentive to our orders, giving suggestions and recommendations as we asked. When to this place last night with my family (party of 7) and we had a great time! Our waitress was the lovely Queen Bee, I believe her actual name is Belinda but all night she was affectionately know as Queen Bee by my family. She was elite. Friendly, fun, and energetic. The interior is nice and it looks welcoming, it's also nice to look around just to appreciate how they decorated the place. The color of the walls, ceiling, and floor blends in pleasingly to the eyes of the customers. You can watch on the TV screens while waiting for food. 4.) Price - 4/5. Just right for the seafood order and you know once you visit the place, you get your money's worth. 5.) Food Taste/quality - 5/5. I love how I can choose the seasoning and spice level. Again, out with family so having a place big enough to accommodate us is a wonderful thing so this restaurant today gets a star for that. On the other hand, we had several complaints at the table in regards to the heat of food upon arrival to the table, concerns on whether or not the chicken was cooked thoroughly - three of the four orders of wings were sent back. This location is my favorite location of the chain of restaurants. I have given them rave reviews before today . I visited the location in Vallejo and couldn't give them a review because there's some issues with the chef and some customers or some ex-employees so their yelp page was blocked, but I wanted to share my experience on that occasion, because for the first time my whole shrimp we're kind of cold. Yes the sauce is hot. Yes the bag is hot when it comes to the table but it doesn't mean what's in the bag in the sauce is necessarily warmed through and unfortunately today I had a similar experience with my 1 pound head on lemon pepper hot as you can get it shrimp order. It was a group of a eight people celebrating my sister's birthday and the server was really pleasant but I didn't care come here just to be a smiled at. I wanted to eat the shrimp so for mediocre food my usual 4or 5 star rating for this establishment is a three today, what can I say? I will say this that pineapple potion margarita was good. It didn't seem like I had a whole Lotta alcohol in it. Nevertheless, it tasted delicious. Oh, don't order the clam chowder. This might have to be my new favorite spot! We were comparing prices and chose here because it was a bit cheaper than the other restaurants near by and I'm so glad we did! Have I found another fav local Cajun spot?! I think so! There isn't much parking in the immediate lot, but there's lots of street parking and other parking lots nearby. PROTIP - they do offer a credit of 1.5 hrs free for some of the paid lots using AirGarage so def take advantage of that! When we arrived, we were able to put our name on their waitlist which connected to Yelp so I could keep track of our spot in line through the app. On a Friday evening, it only took about a 15 minute wait for two people. This restaurant is so much larger than it seems from the outside or even the entrance. We were seated in the back area and it was fun to see the projections on the wall. Quick glance at what we ordered: - garlic noodles ($8): soft, spaghetti style noodles with a good amount of garlic taste without being over powering - Cajun fries ($5): well cooked, the Cajun powder was kind of piled on top but if you mix it up it gets seasoned nicely. Just slightly on the spicy side. - raw oysters ($13 for 6): personally don't have much of an opinion here but my fiancé liked it - combo 1 bag (garlic butter), added instant noodles ($33 + $1): idk why I haven't gotten combo bags before but this was such a deal! Compared to other Cajun seafood boil spots, Bag O' Crab is definitely above average. I visited Bag O' Crab on a Saturday evening, with my dad sister, my 14 year old cousins, and my 8 year old cousin. I mention their ages, because the 8 year old can't handle spice. We ordered the combo # 4 with Dungeness crab, and mild lemon pepper sauce. While us adults, as well as the 14 year olds, barely felt a kick, the little one had his mouth on fire. So we ordered chicken tenders and fries as well. The kids loved them! The little one rated the chicken a 12/10! We also thought it was super cute that our server delivered the chicken and fries right to him, even though we didn't tell our server it was for him. The seafood boil was great as well. It didn't blow us out of the park, but that's probably because we actually wanted the atomic sauce, and toned it down for the kids. So we'll have to come back and give it a try! Regardless, the lemon pepper was still very good. And the crab! Oh boy, that was one meaty crab! I was worried at first because i thought we'd all have to fight for a piece, but there was more than enough for all of us, in the legs and the body! The shrimp, clams, and crawfish were all cooked to perfection, and flavorful throughout. The sausage was great, and the potatoes were as well. The only downside was that I wish there were more of them! As sides, we each had a cup of steamed rice, which was also cooked perfectly! You'd be surprised how many seafood boil places I've gone to that had subpar rice, but not this one! Overall, I'd recommend Bag O' Crab. Just alright. Wasn't a bad meal but I left without much desire to return anytime soon. Dropped by with my husband on a Friday evening. We got there before the dinner rush started and the place was mostly empty, but by the time we left it was full with people waiting to be seated, so plan accordingly. Despite the full house, our waitress was pretty good about coming around and our food came pretty quickly. I was curious about the cajun fish but thought it was odd that the menu doesn't specify what kind of fish it is. I took a chance on it anyway. The plate comes with rice and salad and the fish is grilled, coated in Cajun spices, and topped with mango salsa. My husband got the shrimp po' boy and upgraded to the Cajun fries. We also got the garlic noodles to share. As others have mentioned, the waiters use a robot to roll out the food, but there's a sign on the robot that says not to grab your food -- you have to wait for the waiter to do it. So things got kind of awkward when the robot rolled up on its own and stopped at our table with no waiter accompanying it, and the really large party next to us was eyeing us and wondering why we weren't just grabbing our food. It also felt stupid to sit there waiting to be served when we could've just grabbed our food ourselves. However, we wanted to respect the rules of the restaurant, so we sat there waiting for our waiter to finally walk over and hand us the garlic noodles off the robot. The noodles weren't great and I wouldn't order them again. They were cooked fine, but were swimming in a gravy that pooled at the bottom of the plate and had a flavor I really didn't care for. Again, because the menu is vague at times and didn't offer any explanation as to what's in this dish, I can't pinpoint exactly what flavor I was honing in on that I didn't like, but I took two forkfuls and let my husband have the rest. I've definitely had better garlic noodles elsewhere. As a pasta and noodle fanatic, this was pretty disappointing. My husband's sandwich came out next and that had a really generous serving of shrimp on it with a decent amount of fries. He seemed to really like his sandwich but let me have most of the fries. I highly recommend the Cajun fries. That seasoning is delicious and they were super hot and crispy, with a nice kick of heat from the spices. My plate came out last and was pretty decent overall. The mango salsa was a bit underwhelming though. It was just mango and tomato and if there were other spices or flavors in there I couldn't tell you because all it really tasted like was mango. The fish was coated in that Cajun seasoning and was tender and delicious. Unfortunately, because the menu didn't list it out I have no idea what kind of fish it was, but whatever it was it was good. There were two fish filets laid on top of a bed of steamed rice. The salad was fine, nothing special, just a spring mix with tomatoes, cucumbers, and what tasted like possibly green goddess dressing. Obviously the draw at this place are the crab boils, which we didn't get, but I left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. The ambiance is kind of odd and feels like it doesn't know whether it wants to be a sports bar or a Cajun/seafood restaurant. The robot situation is weird and feels out of place (though as I've mentioned in previous reviews, I'm not the biggest fan of the use of robots at restaurants in general, but it definitely doesn't match the vibe here).
