It's good....the food is good. Bring cash. The basics as I see them are: Breakfast: the eggs are ok and really taste best with the breakfast sausage. I try not to go that route though. Just a sesame seed bagel with plain cream cheese is couple a bucks and tastes great. They have a nice collection of coffees, but you can order espresso drinks too. Lunch: the veggie deluxe and the supreme sandwiches are where it's at. The sourdough bagel and the sandwich roll go great with these. If you don't like Dijon mustard, SAY SOMETHING! Mrs N has had that battle more than once. Just don't forget. If I could change one thing, I'd get them to at least take debit cards. The ATM is short walk to the credit union, but can blow your time schedule if you for get your cash. The place gets busy for lunch and newbs don't always have cash. It's in the Nob Hill parking lot, so there's always room relatively close. They also have frequent flier cards, so don't miss out if you're gonna come back. read more

This is home. One of my favorite places to eat. The bagels are fresh, there are many options, the nova lox is the clear star and the prices are right. The service is friendly a real home town feel because many of the customers here are local and frequent the place quite often, as do I. I love coming in the mornings and they greet me with a fresh from the oven warm "dutch crunch" roll. They use them for sandwiches, but I discovered how great they are alone and enjoy it with a warm cup of chai, which Jose actually makes better than anyone at the local Starbucks. My favorite lunch time item is the white pizza on a biali. The only drawback to this place is that it is cash only. I seriously would probably eat here every day or at least every other day if they accepted debit cards. I hardly ever have cash on me, it just burns a hole in my pocket. read more

I have been coming to this place for awhile now, and when I came around about 8:00am maybe half of the bagel choices were gone. Despite being low on inventory, I was still able to order half a dozen bagels plus some salmon jalepeno cream cheese. This place has always been pretty cheap and affordable. Based on the food that I got, it did not fail on how delicious a nova lox, cheese, and bagel should be. The price was around $8 and the dish was neatly made and wrapped to go. The only reason I gave this place a three star is because I feel that I can't really judge the place to be 4 or more stars if I've only eaten one dish from their menu and I ate it to go. I'll definitely come back and more good things turn up, I'll come back and rate this place higher. Not bad at all! I can't say much for the service as the family brought home these bagels. They brought just about every flavor possible: cranberry, blueberry, asiago, everything, onion, garlic etc. They also got the regular, jalapeño, and salmon cream cheeses. And lastly, honey butter! Today's visit was very disappointing! We spent the day before in Wine Country - and wanted to grab breakfast on the way home. There are several Bagel Street's that we frequent in Brentwood, Antioch, and Livermore that are very good. The location in Martinez was sub-par. To find parking close is some what tricky because Starbucks is right across the street. The place itself is a decent size. There are a variety I bagels - but if you are particular about the one you want , make sure to get there early. Their drink selection is also big. As far as service goes , seems like someone is always ready to take your order. Waiting time to get your food is pretty average - if it's busy. This place takes cash only! I always crave Bagel Street in the morning before work. Their eggwich is delicious. I haven't tried any of their other sandwiches and I'm not really a plain bagel with cream cheese kind of girl so the eggwich steals my heart. It's that simple kind of deliciousness. It's nothing you write home to your mom about but it never fails and it leaves you happy and content. The smoothies are delicious! My boyfriend tries stealing mine! Now, a HUGE inconvenience about this place is that it's cash only. They have signs posted letting you know, but the fact that I have to stop by an ATM just to get my quick breakfast fix is a hassle. Many people don't carry cash on them often and solely rely on their card as currency. You would think in this day and age, they would accept cards. Another con with this place is the fact that they run out of bagels fairly early in the day. I think I've only gotten a wheat bagel once. Other times I just pick out of what's left. I understand that items just run out and there's nothing you can do, but they run out almost every day of most bagels. They ran out of their cinnamon sugar bagels when I got there (it's not even 10AM yet ) I got a an eggwich that from 3.63-4.60+ depending if you want cheese/bacon/ham/sausage. These are GOOD bagels. The bagel sandwiches I've had were good and the staff was friendly and amenable to my requests for ingredients in the sandwich. Did I mention that these are good bagels? They are chewy and flavorful and delicious. Maybe that's why they are often out of the best varieties when I go there for late lunches. It was one of the most delicious things I have had in a while! And I am so in love with peanut butter that it's already part of the experience having melting peanut butter on your hands. I really like this restaurant. It is close to my work and it gives me another option than the packed Starbucks across the parking lot. I usually go in early and there isn't a line. I've had a variety of bagels and cream cheese spreads and all have been fresh and tasty. I also like the selection of coffees from hazel nut to dark chocolate(I'm a huge fan of coffee). Lunch is also really good. They usually have some sort of special going on but even if they didn't their prices are reasonable. The service is great. The employees typically remember you and what you like. They are very prompt in taking your order as well. Went there for the first time on a Sunday morning. It was not very busy, but the bagel selection was scarce. We got ignored for a good five minutes and finally we had to ask for assistance. Watched the lady exchange money with another customer, not wash her hands and proceed to make our food. Mind you with NO gloves. The customer service is terrible and unfriendly. They seem disorganized and not clear on what they are doing. Also it's a cash only place and no signage telling you this. I also read the health inspection report and they were cited for not using gloves back in March of this year. NEVER AGAIN! read more
