    Coconut Cloud Matcha
    Lynne E.

Stumbled upon this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. This is probably one of the most flavor bagel and schmears I've had in a while. I love the portion and the amount of schmear given. I ordered their coconut cloud matcha and it was amazing! The workers were super friendly too. I love when people genuinely like having a conversation with you. I've gone to many cafes where the workers just don't seem to want to talk to anyone because it's too early but that wasn't the case here! The place is very clean and well kept too. I love looking in the back and seeing the kitchen. It was genuinely a nice treat after a long overnight shift. I'll definitely be back to try more!

A pair of Mediterranean Open Face Bagels!

While Noah's Bagel had been the first and the most popular bagel café, Boichik Bagel is slowly trying to gain popularity. But there's one bagel café that flashes out like a hidden gem to the rest of the neighborhood, Bageletto. The same o' bagel selections followed by its same o' shmears, thought I find the time to customize my order to make it full vegan. But after reading its entire menu, I decided to order the Mediterranean style instead. A blueberry flavored bagel, grape tomatoes, diced cucumbers, seasoned onions, kalamata olives, bits of feta cheese, and its cultural dressing. Pretty colorful, don't you think? A pair of open-face in a rectangular clamshell. Just enough to call it breakfast in one setting. Might be back to to see what type of bagel I like to customize.

Got the garlic bagel with egg and cheese. It had a fluffy egg with a good cheese pull. Sort of cheesy like some bagel sandwiches in SF.

In search for the best bagels in San Francisco brings to my old neighborhood in the Mission District . Finding a good bagel in San Francisco has got easier than in the past. Lots of places are now offering good bagels. What makes a good bagel place even better is ingredients they also put on a bagel like their everything bagel , sesame bagel, and blueberry bagel and they're made from scratch. They also have pizza bagels like their Brooklyn Pizza. I wanted to explore more so I decided to give it a whirl. On a Three Kings Day rare winter weather Mission District stroll , I landed at Bageletto. Inside it had a few tables in the front but in the back there was a bakery making the bagels from scratch. The menu had lots of good toppings to spread on the bagels. They have fresh schemar like the Sicilian Cherry and Scallion Schmear. I ordered the Garlic Bagel with the Lox schmear and it was creamy and cheesy like some in SF. The Lox was savory and blended in well with the schmear. I then wanted to try their Classic Egg & Cheese bagel sandwich and it was tasty. I will say this is in my top 5 places to grab a bagel. I wouldn't say it's the king of San Francisco when it comes to bagels but it is off to a great start. Get bagels made from"scratch" so "catch"and get a new fresh "batch"from onion to garlic you can mix and "match" It's located the Mission District where my family "settled "their bagels are at another "level" they are my top 5 bagel places they should win a "medal" for one of the best bagels in San Francisco at "Bageletto"

    Lox and loaded + smash

I am torn in the best way. We ordered the Lox and Loaded and the Smash Bagel and the total was $33 which is kind of insane and the only thing keeping it from five stars. The quality also kind of justifies it, the bagel itself is dense, chewy, and legit, and when I asked the staff, they said they make them in-house and they're kettle boiled. It immediately reminded me of the bagels I've had in nyc, and I haven't had one in SF that hit that same itch this well. As for the sandwiches: the Lox and Loaded tasted super put-together -- the cream cheese felt really fresh and house-made, and the smoked lox was solid. The Smash Bagel was also great: perfectly ripe avocado and juicy, sweet tomatoes that tasted genuinely fresh. Service and ambiance were exactly what you'd expect from a higher-end bagel place. We went on a Saturday morning, it was pretty chill, and the order took about 15 minutes, which felt totally reasonable was good time to catch up with a friend. Overall, you're definitely paying a sf premium, but if you want a bagel that actually scratches that ny bagel craving, this place delivers and I'd go again.

Dear Yelp Community, Great spot in a quiet location. I enjoyed the Calabrian chili bagel with vegan cream cheese. There is a large kitchen in the back, which is visible from the entrance. Continued best. Sincerely, Anna

Calabrian chili and cheese bagel with bacon and fig schmear
    Emily F.

Walked in to check this out. It's small and not much seating. We tried a breakfast sandwich and the Calabrian chili and cheese bagel with bacon and fig schmear. Both were great. Bagels were fresh and flavors good. Nice amount of schmear on the bagel and good amount of filling in the breakfast sandwich. I appreciated the amount of bacon and being able to see the chunks of bacon in the schmear. Only a small wait but not bad and service was friendly. Looked like one person at the register makes the drinks and the back makes the food. Price point is fairly typical for the city but still feels a bit much for bagels.

As you enter the SoMa neighborhood on 14th Street, you see the Rainbow Grocery Co-op, Pink Onion and bagel sandwich-ed in between is Bageletto. I've had a ton of bagels from the city and Bageletto has firmly secured the number one spot on my list. I went at 11am on a Tuesday and didn't have to compete with a crowd. Staff was attentive and warm, my fave. There was only one seat and two chairs inside the clean, industrial, modern, minimalist and naturally-lit space and it looked like a huge industrial kitchen in the back. I did find a spot in the outdoor limited seating and enjoyed a peacefully, sunny and tree-lined street. I ordered the Lox supreme open-faced bagel for $18, which is a luxury in these days. But if you want to treat yourself to a premium lox bagel, this is it. It looks simple, Everything bagel, cold-smoked lox, capers and pink pickled onions. But as I took my first bite, the moist, slightly-chewy bagel on the thinner side with a crisp topped with an appropriate amount of fixins, each bite was divine. It felt like the perfect brunch, I recommend to everyone and I can't wait to go back when I can.

Today's (8/17/25) special: coppa, grilled peaches, black truffle spread, wildflower honey on a plain bagel

I finally got to try Bageletto at Rainbow Grocery's 50th Anniversary Block Party yesterday. Though I love an egg and cheese bagel, I wanted something different for my first time. The specials caught my eye. Because I felt a little bougie, I got the one with the black truffle spread. It was also topped with coppa and grilled peaches, drizzled with wildflower honey. It was delicious! The black truffle added umami notes that weren't overpowering. The coppa added a silky saltiness. And the peaches and honey added the sweetness. It came open faced on a plain bagel, which itself had a nice crust and chewiness. Since there was a lot of people at the block party, it did take awhile to get my order. But that was expected. Luckily there was a decent amount of seating outside due to the party. Otherwise, there's a few tables on regular days. Bageletto is located behind Rainbow Grocery on the same block. It's a garage space, so there's no seating inside. I'm definitely coming back to try a classic egg and cheese.

first time to bageletto after driving through the neighborhood and missing the exit onto the freeway. Glad we went a different route to check out this new bagel spot. They had a variety of options from sweet to savory. Limited seating was the ambience, but you could take your bagel to go like we did The service was good, they notified us when our order was ready and even made recommendations

I've been wanting to go to Bageletto in the SF Chronicle! They wrote about how the owners perfected a recipe that could "muster" in both NYC and SF (whose water and weather are not "suited" for the style.) Bageletto bagels differ from most bagels in that they weigh roughly 180 grams (compared to 120-130 grams, which is typical of most SF bagels.) They have fun flavors. I enjoyed jalapeño cheese, garlic, Calabrian chili cheese, and sesame. As fitting heavier bagels, they're great for making sandwiches and putting food in them. They're thick and sturdy but not overly heavy (when you're eating them.) I froze them and they tasted great toasted. Will be back to try one of their sandwiches and specialty drinks. They have some seating inside and outside which looked like a vibe. Service was very nice and helpful. I liked looking in the back to see them baking!

Been meaning to try bageletto for a while so I was super excited to get to try! There's only one table inside so would recommend getting this as takeout. We tried the mattina cotto on a calabrian bagel. Definitely the softest bagel, I wish it did have more of a crunch. Didn't know what to expect with a calabrian bagel but didn't get much flavor from it - not worth the $1 upgrade. Cheese pull goes crazy.

    Shawna M.

Mediocre bagels in the city. The bagels didn't feel freshly made and were really hard. The cream cheese itself is really delicious and unique, but as far as pricing and quality I do not recommend it here. Service is good. Ambiance is pretty, but I give this place a 6/10 overall. I definitely wouldn't come back

Lately, I feel like there's been a lot more bagel spots popping up in SF and I haven't tried a single one. So I arbitrarily decided that today would be the day I start my bagel journey. I' ve seen a couple reviews complaining about the bagel quality; clearly I'm not a bagel expert by any means, but the bagel tasted fine to me. The Studio 54 is meaty and very filling, which is much appreciated! Maybe the only thing is that it could have used a little bit more salt, but just that's just my personal taste. If you're just stopping by for lunch, you could probably split the bagel with someone. There are a couple tables outside, but to my knowledge, no inside seating and maybe no bathroom? So I hope you've practiced holding it until you can find a place to go

Wise Sons always has egg salad on its menu. The problem is that it didn't have any egg salad on hand the first two times I came here.* Whatever I had instead, both times (and I had something different each time) was delicious. Overall, the experience and the food, sits about a 3.5 star experience. The people in the shop were nice, but not overly welcoming. The price point, quality versus quantity, etc., will make you question the cost factor, because this is not an inexpensive quick bite. Having said that, they have cure their lox. I ordered extra lox, because I've been told that the quantity wasn't there. I will say that I was glad that I ordered extra, because I think it made for a pretty tasty bite. The bagels are boiled, so there's that pillowy bounce. What I absolutely enjoyed about this big experience is that it's not basic. It's refined and elevated. Herb, lemon, lox is the way to go! Yes, spend the extra money and get the extra lox. Lemon aïoli, tomato, red onion, you can tell why this is just absolutely perfection! I enjoyed the bagel and it definitely is better than others that I've had in and around the general area. The ingredients/toppings are fresh, I just wish they were a little bit more generous on their own. The lox is pretty tasty, and I can tell you that I'm generally pretty picky, and this really stepped up to that plate. For those craving a little bit of sweetness after their meal, they do sell cookies, and I grabbed their marshmallow cookie. The cookie was pretty meh. I definitely would take a pass on the cookie. Service was the big hold back, but I will say that I will go back and try some of their other menu items.

That brings a great background of experience to Midnite Bagel. I first encountered them at the local farmers market then briefly at a brick and mortar shop on Irving Street in the inner Sunset. Now it's back to farmers markets and then, if all else fails, their bakery headquarters on Illinois Street in the Dogpatch neighborhood. Beware It's not a traditional store front or entrance. A little like connecting with a secret underground club or speakeasy! Lol!!! At the brick and mortar shop and the farmers market the staff is always nice and helpful with picking out bagels if undecided. If going to the Dogpatch location at least by now you'll know what you want. Place your order and pick it up. All their bagels are good fresh or toasted - plain, sesame, onion, poppy seed, Everything, etc. - plus their shmears and chocolate chip cookies!!!! I'll always do a dozen plus a scallion or plain shmear. Still wish for a brick and mortar location but in the meanwhile. I'll happily find them wherever they are!

Update to a Formerly Glowing Review…read more This is an update to what was once a glowing review of my beloved Pizzahacker. I've been going for many, many years (close to 10--or more?), so it pains me to say that some changes under new management have shifted the experience for me. Jeff Krupman, the founder and chef (who ended up being a friend!) sold the business to one of his longtime employees a year ago or more ago. (He still owns the Mill Valley location). While they tried to keep a lot of things the same h feel noticeably different. It's interesting that it still shows his name as manager. Here's what I've noticed--not in a good way: The menu now feels overwhelmingly meat-forward, with a dearth of thoughtfully designed vegetarian pizzas. I have mentioned this to Jesse (longtime staff) and a female server, asking them to pass this along. Each pizza also seems to have several more ounces of (still very delicious sourdough) dough. The crust is significantly thicker, and there's simply more of it. What once felt light and beautifully balanced now feels heavier. Vegetarian options are largely reduced to subtraction of meat . I've spoken with longtime waitstaff (including Jesse) and asked that this feedback be shared with Juan, the new owner. One server suggested I could just order a pizza without the meat. But a thoughtfully composed vegetarian pizza is very different from a meat pizza with ingredients removed--and at $24, paying full price for a pizza minus its main topping feels unfair. Perhaps there could be a cheaper option availabile for meaty pizzas without the meat. Please consider making The Summer Fave year round, bringing back the Inside Out, and/or creating more pizzas that don't center around multiple meats. Also, I know that the new management has changed some of the ingredients that made their pizzas so special and delicious. In particular, the sausage on the Yo Vinny, which used to be house made is now closer to the generic sausage you'd find at Pizza Hut. Loses so much of the experience to change to these cheaper ingredients. (I lean vegetarian as much as possible but make occasional exceptions, so I know this!) I used to go to Pizzahacker weekly and look forward to it with genuine excitement. Now, while I still enjoy the occasional pizza, that sense of anticipation is gone. I do want to say I'm grateful that my beloved Intermezzo salad remains unchanged--and I still care deeply about this place. I love PH--please consider the earnest pleas of a longtime customer who has eaten there many dozens of times.

Bagels were fresh and tasty, and the service was fast and friendly. There isn't too much to say…read moreabout this bagel spot: if you're looking for great bagels, quick service, and a friendly team, I'd definitely check this place out. Okay... I guess I should elaborate a little more for all y'all faithful Yelp readers. I tried a couple of different bagels at Noe Bagel. The sesame and everything bagels are both generously coated, with a beautiful outer crust that has just the right texture. The inside is soft and chewy. It's a classic New York-style bagel that will satisfy even your strongest bagel cravings. The mini bagels maintain that same excellence, just in a smaller form. Because of their size, the crust-to-center ratio gives you more of the micro-blistered snap that I love about bagels. Personally, I'd choose two or three minis over one regular bagel. The cream cheese is also excellent--well-balanced and smooth. My favorite is the blueberry cream cheese. It has just a hint of sweetness that brings out the richness and creaminess of the cheese. And, like many spots in San Francisco, they offer a sourdough bagel. It's quite different from their sourdough bread, but I enjoyed it. If you're visiting, I'd recommend giving it a try. For my everyday go-to, I'd stick with a classic sesame or plain bagel, but Noe Bagel has enough variety to keep things interesting if you want to switch it up regularly. As a bonus, they sell day-old bagels by the bag for $4. You can freeze them, eat them as-is, or repurpose them into bread pudding. You'll end up with an interesting dish thanks to all the different bagel varieties mixed together--but that's part of the fun!

Small business owned by the baker himself, many different flavored bagels and spreads to choose from. They also offer bagel dogs which I have yet to try. If you're lucky enough to snag a pesto bagel before he sells out, it will change your life. My go to: pesto bagel with sun-dried tomato spread and sprouts. I have tried many bagel locations, even prefer this spot over boichik in the city. The owner is so kind and well worth supporting! Parking can be difficult around this area, but it's worth the 5 - 10 minute walk.
