This is a true blue burger joint with all the American trimmings. I'm not sure if the place is family owned but it sure felt family operated in the sense that the employees seemed to really function well together and were each very very welcoming. The service was phenomonal and the selection on the menu looked real good. The only thing I didn't see on the menu that I was hoping for was fried pickles and or fried bottle cap jalepenos, but like Mick Jagger always says, "you can't always get what you want but if you try sometimes you get what you need"! Baileys cheeseburgers are definately what I needed! I have driven all across Texas and searched up some worthy comeptitors for the best burger out there. If I were to conjure up a list of the top places Baileys would definately have a spot secured. So what can you expect on your first visit to Baileys?: 1.) The place is not too far out of reach 2.) You will get great service and a warm welcoming 3.) You will notice the regulars piled in there enjoying their favorite meals 4.) I absolutely loved it, I ordered a olive burger with a side of fries and was amazed on the price and how delicious it was, definitely give this place a go u won't be disappointed, my favorite aspect was the fries they were perfectly crisp and loaded with flavor, the best part is they offer DELIVERY! which is what our town lacks when it comes to real food. The service is horrible and slow. I guess they make their money off their regulars. Waitress was more involved with her phone than service. There were a total of 3 tables in the whole place. Thought that we would try some place different. It has been here for a long time and wanted to try. Bailey's is a must. The best test for a breakfast place, in my opinion, is the bacon quality. They got it goin' in that department. The owner works the floor and is attentive. We are frequent patrons at Bailey's. The food is consistently delicious. The waitresses are incredibly friendly and know their guests by name after a few visits. Our family enjoys breakfast there the most, but we love their lunch & dinner, too! We would rather eat at a family owned restaurant than a franchise. Everything tasted like it was reheated from frozen... it was nasty.. I'd rather eat the fish sandwich from Mcdonalds than their fish.. even the fried mushrooms were not good. Surprisingly good country cooking/diner food. Friendly service that's more than willing to accommodate special requests. Everyone's breakfast looked excellent, but I went with the chicken strips, which were definitely above average. I was very pleased when our waitress offered me several side order options with my lunch. The tater tots are infinitely better than Sonic and the serving was much more than generous. Super cute little diner! Went for lunch with my coworkers. Food was excellent. I had the bacon cheeseburger and they let me add a fried egg, even though I didn't see it listed as a menu option. I tried a bite of one of my co-worker's chicken fried steak, and I think it's the best one I've ever tasted. The onion rings were perfect and the tater tots were great - not too greasy. The owner is friendly and made sure we had everything we could possibly want. She's also a dachshund lover, which just makes her even more awesome! I can't wait to come back. My only complaint is that there wasn't any seasoning on my fried egg, but let's be real - with all the other deliciousness, it's just not that big of a deal. read more

Give me a break, we dont need to be so generous with the stars. I tried this place for the first time but I noticed the burgers were not mentioned much in the earlier reviews. Now I know why. I had a Jumbo Cheeseburger. It was not very good (thin, flavorless). The onion rings were also without much flavor. I will say that the strawberry milkshake was very good. My wife had the blueberry pankcakes and liked them. Based on what I know now, I think I might try the catfish special and breakfast items, but I would stay away from the hamburgers. I will give it another try in order to try other items. read more

yelp should update reviews to allow only within an 8 months or so period of time..some go back to 2009...baileys food is ok..service is just ok because they have high school students rotating in and out as servers and counter help and they kind of ignore you when ordering and even when you want to pay..food is too expensive and needs "fixings" on burgers..a new paint job and a bit of updating inside would give the place a cleaner feel and not ruin the history...i have been there a few times because it is close and have seen the manager only once..she was not friendly.... update...haven't eaten at baileys for a while but the last time it was ok..takeout burger and onion rings..service a bit slow,but the burger was good..place has not changed on the inside or outside and they still hire high school kids..not sure of current management.. read more

Was at a farmer's market next door and getting hungry, I asked the lady at the market if the place next door had good food. She told me it was good homestyle food. I was quickly seated and order the chicken fried steak and double mashed potatoes. The food was delivered quickly. The mashed potatoes were left lightly seasoned with garlic, but absolutely no salt or pepper. I had to take my son to football practice in the area off of Stuebner Airline and searched on Yelp for a breakfast place. It came up with Bailey's as the number one place. So I decided to give my son and his friend a treat and we ate breakfast there. The sign outside is faded in the building is kind of sketchy on the outside, but on the inside it had an "old diner" type feel. The manager seated us right away. Then the waitress brought us water and took our order. I ordered one pancake and a side of 2 eggs for $9.50. My son ordered two pancakes and his friend ordered two pancakes and bacon. It came out within 10 minutes. The pancakes were large and light and fluffy, very delicious. My son and I enjoyed the scrambled eggs as well. My friend's son said the bacon was crispy and just right. The total for our order with tip was about $34. The manager checked on us again towards the end of our meal to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and it was! Went to Bailys one morning about 9. Was told sit anywhere and picked our table. Sat down, and saw there were 3-4 other tables and booths filled with other people. Ordered an omelet, a d it came about 10-15 minutes later. Other tables got theirs ahead of us. It shows that they got there prior to our arrival. We got our omelet and OMG, what a big biscuit. I love this place. The same kitchen staff has been there as long as I can remember and they always serve such good food. Breakfast is my favorite, and they never mind changing things up for me when I want to mix and match. Family-friendly, too! They are always sweet to my girls and bring them crackers to munch while waiting on food. For whoever complained about the steak, I just had to giggle. Ate here for the 2nd time on 02/03/16. We came back because we really liked the food and how close it was to our home. My 6 year old wanted a pancake, a scrambled egg & bacon. If I would of known when I said 2 pieces of bacon that we would be charged for a kids breakfast meal ($5.95) and bacon al la carte ($4.00) I would of ordered differently especially since that's not how we were charged the first time we dined and we got the exact same thing. When we pointed this out to the cashier (also our waitress) she said that's what it cost. $9.95 for a kids meal? No thanks!! Won't be back. read more

We heard about this place on the local news two months ago. An icon for the community. Wow, were we disappointed! First of all, it wasn't easy to find, the signs were old and faded. When we went in, we just looked at each other and looked at the dilapidation of this five star restaurant. We sat in a dilapidated booth with torn fabric and waited for some menus. There were about 8 people in the place and we had to get up to get our own menus. Finally ordered the chicken fried steaks that we heard so much about and that they were famous for. Went to the restroom to wash up and was greeted with the biggest roach doing the back stroke across the floor. Looked around at the filth and noticed the pee covered wall next to the urinal (see attached photos, I'm not exaggerating here), I regretted making an order or we would have left after this. Got the order in a timely manner and it was a basic chicken fried steak for $12 Had a much better deal and food (for a bar) in the Woodlands at Tail Gaitors, three weeks ago (look at my other reviews). Had to wait on silverware which was low end and looked like a truck had run over it so it was totally flat without curves like something you get in grade school. The meat was really tough and stringy. Like chewing on a shoelace, swallowing some of it and having the rest still stuck to the piece left in your mouth. Really bland gravy like it came out of a can. The waiter decided to talk to the regulars that were sitting behind us, so they had a conversation over the top of us and he couldn't be bothered getting us the check. I finally started to play with my helmet (we were on the Harley) and he quit talking long enough to get us the check. Would I go back, not just NO, but Hell No! I can only figure the locals that go there don't have transportation because there is no draw to this place unless you want to build up your immunities. read more

After my first experience in January which was excellent, service has gone WAY downhill.... the friendly waitress I first met is long gone, and in the past two months of going there weekly - haven't had a friendly waitress since. They all look mad at the world, take their time getting to you.....and once your food is served, forget about refills or napkins. One waitress (short blonde hair) is continually rude, and I haven't seen her smile once. Then today they left half the food off my plate....had to remind them that hash browns come with the breakfast, and by the time they came.....my eggs and toast were gone. The service was fairly good, food was fresh and hot. First cup of coffee was tepid to say the least but the 2nd cup was hot. Prices were typical. Couldn't wait to try the chicken fried steak after seeing a review on the news the other night. The service was great, sweet tea great, but steak not so much.
