Usually you can't mess up Mexican food but this time I was disappointed. It was around late 9 ish and the place was dead, so of course your gonna expect quick service. I waited a total of about 20-30 minutes for my food, I ordered a appetizer nachos right off the back and later ordered my entrees. After the wait and I received my food it was piratically warm, basically once they had finished cooking my food they forgot about it and left it there. The waiter and waitress was relatively young in their mid 20s or so and just kept socializing with each other while my food was getting cold. Then when i'm just about done with my food my waitress brings out my nachos which I ordered ahead of time before anything else... You can expect why i'm so frustrated with service. Maybe the food could have been better if it had gotten to be quicker rather than sitting in the kitchen but other than that it was disappointing. read more

I come here with my family almost everytime I am in Florida. It's a fun, lively place for a group. The service is good and the prices are low. I always get the chicken fajitas and load up on the awesome sangria, served in a big metal pitcher. It's good, basic mexican well made. read more

My wife and I drive 21 mile each way to go to the Baja Cafe at least once a month for 18 months. . Why? First the staff is the most friendly, helpful, and fast with getting us everything you could ask for. Whe we arrive we feel like we are at a Fiesta! The place is fun with a real Mexican Cantina feel. The drinks are made with premium ingredients and a fair amount of quality alcohol.The food is superb and served hot! Lots of choices for any palate. We've tried over 25 items and have never had a bad selection. I'm a retired restaurateur and believe this place is fantastic. I've been going ot Baja Cafe for at least 14+ years. This is a local place for sure. I've gone to both of their locations in Deerfield. I can honestly say that they have the best Margarita in Broward County. They free pour and therefore you don't get a Margarita that tastes like sour mix. The service is amazing. Most of the service staff has been there for years. People seem to go to work there and never leave which says alot about the owners. The food is great! I've never had a bad meal there. I'm in the food business and there are a couple things that always stand out about this place. When most Mexican restaurants cheap out and use a mixture of dark and white meat chicken, Baja uses all white meat chicken for all their chicken dishes. A couple of my favorite dishes are the steak tacos, bandito honey burrito, and kiss-ass burrito. Some people may have issues that this isn't authentic Mexican fair, but they don't promote themselves as that. They are a cross between Tex-Mex, and Mexican with a little gourmet added! read more

I recently moved to Boca from Boston and have been here three times in the past week. I spent my birthday at Baja with friends and the owner was more than amazing. I came home with a belly full of amazing food, amazing margaritas and a special Dia de Los muertos shot of tequila given to me by the owner. This is certainly my new favorite spot! read more

Servers not assigned an area so it's possible to get lost/forgotten in the crowd. Don't get mad, just ask the manager, he's easy to recognize, if he can get someone to take your order and he'll likely buy you a drink. Very fun place for all ages. read more

It's not bad at all. Your typical Mexican restaurant. Better than Taco Bell, perhaps a bit like Chipotle. The portions here are a good size. Their guacamole looked great, some other table ordered it. Excellent food! Wish we found this little gem earlier. We moved to lighthouse point about a year ago and this was our first time trying Baja. The service was great and we were pleasantly surprised by 2 for 1 margaritas and beer! The salsa is freshly made in house and is delicious. We stopped for lunch and the place was filling up quickly. The chips and salsa are complementary and very good, especially if you mix the hot with the mild. My husband has two tacos with rice and refried beans, I had the appetizer Mucho Nachos, my grandson had kids nachos. The portions were huge!
