Went there on the advice of friend and he will be a friend forever. Warmly greeted as a single guest by the hostess and immediately had my server Edgar at my table. He went to great lengths to explain the drink specials as well as the dinner special they were offering. All was unrushed and very hospitable. My Margarita arrived promptly and he gave me time to browse the extensive menu. Took my order in good time and it was delivered quickly and piping hot. The amount of food is hypnotizing in its amount and it is delicious. After realizing there was no way I could conquer this feast I hailed a waitress and she put together a " to go" box for me and also cashed me out and got me on my way. Come here for two for one tequila Wednesdays if not for anything else, the food is a slightly Brazilian take on Mexican but wont disappoint. This place is normally full of eye candy and the help is usually not too bad to look at either. I recommend the carne asada. read more

This place is awesome! Very chill& kind of makes you want to leave the country immediately (but thanks to this little slice of mehico we don't have to). I consider my self pretty much an expert on Mexican food, and while this place was ok, it taxed like frozen food and canned salsa. What really earned them the lowest star rating was the absolute worst service I have experienced, I will never return to this place based on the service. Rude, didn't ask how food was, didn't refill drinks, didn't refill chips, she spent her time eating from a to go box across the room. When she dropped of the check, she just lied away, not telling us whee to pay, then when I asked she yelled across the room just leave it over there. We have been Baja Cafe several times during our visits to the Pompano Beach area. Every time we have been to Baja Cafe, the food has been good and the service has been equally good. I like that tehy have a good variety of entrees to chose from and not just the standard Mexican fare. Also, the food is always prepared consistently. It is good place to eat and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a solid place to eat Mexican. read more

If you like fish tacos don't go here. I ordered mahi-mahi tacos which I usually love but when they arrived they had no flavor. Just unseasoned bland fish topped with cabbage on a tortilla, no sauce or anything else. They only give you 2 very small lime slices for 3 taco, what's up with that. I am use to bold flavored fish tacos where the fish is seasoned with Mexican spices and lime, then topped with cabbage and a bold flavored cilantro white sauce and served with a quarter lime per taco. I hope there other food is better but I won't go back to find out. Also the service was also not good and I had to ask for my check, even then I had to wait awhile before they gave it to me. It was not busy and they had plenty of wait staff so not sure what the problem was. I do not recommend this restaurant, there are plenty of other restaurants nearby I suggest you pick one of them. read more

We started with a Disarita and Sangrita; WOW!!! Such a delicious way to start. I've never had anything like the Disarita. Then dips for chips are made in house and you can definitely tell. No canned salsa here. We got the chicken and spinach quesadilla, pork wings and snake bite burrito. I can't say enough about all of it, but omg the pork wings. So crispy on the outside and oh so tender and juicy on the inside. I'm super picky about my Mexican and this place is unlike anything I've had. A must!!! read more

My wife and I love this place. The staff is friendly and polite. Bartenders poor a mean margarita which we enjoy. The food is always hot and made to order. We came in for lunch and were seated right away. We were greeted with chips and salsa yay! Our waitress was very friendly and kept our chip basket and water glasses full. I ordered the tostada grande with chicken and my husband ordered the drunken burrito. Both plate portions were HUGE! A lot of food for the price of $9.99 a piece. Baja is good food. Not really a fan of that tomato rice though, why no white rice or yellow rice? Got a wet burrito with grilled onions and peppers one time they seemed undercooked and crunchy. The Steak Tampiquena is good quality and perfectly seasoned with lime. Its a cool feel inside too, very nice decor. read more

We have been going here for years! Food is awesome, decor is great and the service is wonderful! Their salsa is amazing, as is their queso. They have great daily specials as well. Their lunch club cards are very useful as you can earn free lunches. Definitely a must!!! read more
