I don't make the baklava per say but they have an assortment of baklavas and you can make your own box based on weight. They also have premade boxes if you don't want to choose your own. I'm such a huge lover of baklava! I mean who isn't? If you aren't, then you must come to the Baklava Factory. Once you come here, you'll never want to be without baklava. Yes, it's that's damn good. It was my first time coming to this specific shopping center since I am in this area quite a bit, but there's a Zankou Chicken right near it in case you need a landmark so you can turn into the parking lot. Upon entering, the lady behind the counter was so kind and friendly. She was really answered my questions since I couldn't make up my mind. I ended up getting 4 different kinds of baklava: almond caramel, traditional walnut, finger cashew, and chocolava with walnut and cinnamon flavors. These are deadly. When I say deadly, I mean it. You eat one... and another... and another... and before you know it, half the box is gone! The baklava is so light, flakey, and crunchy. Each kind had the hint of flavors from the various types of nuts like cashew, walnut, pistachio, and almond. The flavor was really pronounced so you can just taste everything in it. My biggest gripe with baklava is that the bottom gets really soggy from the honey especially when it sits out for a while. It's the kind that you order online or find in a store. However, soggy baklava does not exist here since everything is made fresh. Also, there was a perfect amount of honey and it didn't overpower the taste of the baklava. I recommend this place to everyone to get your baklava fix. I know I will be back considering I bought a 1lb. box it was gone within 24 hours... yes, it was that delicious. 2.5 STARS I've had Baklava Factory bookmarked forever! and have really been excited about getting here and purchasing some sweet treats. We finally made it here, their hours are great! Open until 930P and even 10P two nights of the week. You really can't beat that! The selection and variety of baklava is impressive! I was in Baklava heaven and super jazzed about this place, the guy working here - not so much! As friendly and excited as I was, did nothing for him. My boyfriend even mentioned it after we left which is pretty unusual. So, on the customer service front although he answered my questions he surely wasn't the most welcoming or friendly person in town. It was 10 minutes to close but something tells me that had nothing to do with his disposition. Now, onto the baklava... I came in specifically to purchase a gift for my grandma. We both love it and I am looking to surprise her with a special treat. Instead of buying by the pound $11.99 (around 13 pieces, I believe that's what the guy said), he suggested their pre packaged. This option has a little bit of everything which is definitely what I was aiming for. I picked one of these up as the gift and then ordered a few other options for myself to indulge in. I asked what the best seller is, and was told the fingers so I tried one of these and a couple varieties of the traditional and one chocolate. Again, I can't even tell you how excited I was (this is when expectation can really fu** something up friends!). We got into the car and I placed the gift in the backseat and quickly unwrapped my selections. I was not impressed with any of them, at all and whomever thought chocolate on baklava was a good idea, is poorly mistaken! I've had so much better baklava from a few of my favorite restaurants (some, divvy hole in the wall joints). I was so disappointed :( I thought for sure something called Baklava Factory would be sensational. No! Not even close. This is when I really wish I had tried some pieces prior to purchasing an entire tray full for my grandma. I am trying to figure out how I will tell her this is a gift where the thought must count, because the product is not impressive by any means. I asked how long these will remain fresh and was told 3 weeks, so all I'm thinking at this point is what I chose must have been made 20 days ago. I have no other explanation for it other than it's just not for me. They had birds nest options which just recently became some of my favorite types but I'm thankful I didn't try these here. Got a Groupon for this place. I love sugar and sweets and I have had Baklavas in the past so I was really looking forward to trying this place. I am not sure if I did it right, but they handed me an assorted box with the Groupon purchase - not sure if I was supposed to choose what I wanted. In the assorted box there was the Traditional Baklava (amazing!), Burma - Chocolate Sare (very bland), Baklava Fingers (very yummy), and Pistachio Kaidifi (kinda bland as well). Hey I was looking for a dessert place and stumbled upon Baklava, I read one Yelper mention Pistacio and thought oh they have ice cream too. Well i guess I never really paid atttention to what baklava was. I would eat it occassionally but never really knew or understood what was in it. Anyways my gf got a couple of minis to try. Man they were good and fresh. They melted in my mouth where on other occasions when I've tried them they were hard and not to great but this place it's a specialty and it was nice and fresh. I'd go back if I were in the area in the future. This is not much of a sit down place but more of a buy and go place. Everything was made local at their Encino site. Baklava was not heavy in sugar or syrup which is exactly what we were looking for. My friend and I were randomly driving around in Glendale going to lunch. We stumbled upon this hidden mom & pop shop. Once we stepped in, there were over 20 different types of Baklava. Since there weren't many prices in the store in terms of pricing, I asked the sales lady. She says they charge by weight. A couple of the items are flat rate since they weigh more than other items. At the end I chose a couple to sample, which included almond, chocolate, pistachio, and walnuts. They may look little, but they're sure filled with yummy goodness! The almond was so smooth that I can taste its freshness. I must say that the chocolate wasn't too sweet, but may need a bit more hit of chocolate. I'm taking a break from eating all of my samples in one sitting. However, I will definitely go back again and sample other types in the near future. Some things I was not a huge fan of, but that was because of preference in flavor, not because anything was wrong with them! I'm not good with the names, but seriously, you can get anything here and it'll taste good! Most places, in my experience, go overboard with the honey or sweetener that they use. That makes it way to sweet and when left out, makes the entire baklava soggy. When you bite into a baklava it needs to have that crisp. It is a combination of crunch and chewy on the bottom.
