Yes! Finally, good Turkish food that isn't ridiculously priced. I love this place. When we visit our friend down in Huntington we get Balkan Grill every time. It's mostly a carryout place, and they sometimes run out of some of the dishes, but this makes little difference given that (1) they have a pretty diverse menu, and (2) the food is AMAZING! Borek, Imam Bayildi, and Ezme are some recommended favorites. Oh, and their Baklava is actually good, unlike most of the junk that sells as Baklava in the US. The service is friendly and they have a lovely Eastern European / Balkan grocery store adjacent to the restaurant, so you can go check out some pretty amazing dips, drinks, and candies. Apart from it being Huntington, I wish I lived closer to Balkan Grill. But then again, if I did, I'd eat there every day. So. Much. Baklava. NOM!! read more

Absolutely wonderful Balkan food such as Cevapi (meat kabobs), cheese and meat pita pastries and fresh desserts like hurmasice. Although Balkan food is usually known for meat-based dishes, plenty at this store for vegetarians. Also, supermarket next door carries many Balkan products, including ingredients for all the food served. The space is very small with very few seats, the only downside. read more

Recently, we visited the DC and VA area and what a nice surprise to find a wonderfully delicious Mediterranean type of restaurant which offered fresh burgers with meat so tender and flavorful, you will never go back to the traditional burger chains and yes, it does have a good kick to it! And the grilled beef with yogurt sauce, I couldn't get enough, it was hard to let my husband taste it, I wanted it all. It's a smaller restaurant with a few seats but they made room for my husband and I. Wonderful food and good hospitality, visit the restaurant and enjoy, we did! Heard about this place from a friend. Even though I pass by this plaza every morning and night, I didn't know this was there. I was intrigued by the high Yelp reviews which is rare for any place off of Richmond hwy. good thing I planned takeout. No place to sit for families certainly. For the first time ordering, I made sure to go for their specialties. Got the döner kebab sandwich (similar to a gyro) which was delicious. Very well spiced and cooked to tenderness. The sauce is great and the bread is excellent, so soft and clearly freshly baked. The sandwich comes with raw vegetables and is very filling! No sides needed. I also tried the cigar börek stuffed w cheese (you get 5 long sticks in each order), they were delicious. Spinach börek was also very soft and flaky. Finally, I got the chicken shish kebab for my kids which comes w rice. This was the least impressive and I wouldn't get it again. The chicken was dry and bland, nothing special. But it's not their speciality so I only have myself to blame! Can't wait to try other stuff on the menu! read more

We got a catering order from Balkan Grill for birthday party, and the food was excellent. Especially good were the dolmas, baba ganoush, borek, humus and delicious fresh-baked bread. We also liked the shopska salad. Nurten was very helpful in coming up with just the right order for us. Highly recommend. read more

It's pretty rare to find a restaurant that specializes in Yugoslavian fare. This place does great cevapcici (little sausages in a fresh baked roll) and pljeskavica (bosnian burger which is slightly spicy seasoned meat flattened and served in a fresh baked roll). We didn't have the borek but when we were there 2 people ordered that. They have 3 versions - the cheese, meat, and spinach. All of them looked great. They sell the traditional yogurt drink that you are supposed to eat Borek with as well. My husband grew up on this food and enjoyed all the choices and the food we had here. I enjoyed it too, but he really KNOWS what everything is supposed to taste like. The desserts are all made on site and we had a great chocolate cake and baklava. The baklava is not overly sweet and is a good portion size for the money. This is definitely more of a takeout place with only several chairs along the wall on the side, but the food is well worth the price. They have a Bosnian grocery store (the guy who owns it is super nice) right next to it which sells all sorts of things my husband misses from his childhood. From Ledena, all sorts of Dorina, all sorts of Milka, Jupi, Coke in the European glass bottles, several different waters, tons of wine - Dingac, Poslip, Dalmantinka, Chardonnay, Plavac, as well as other Georgian kinds, tons of snack foods, rose hip jam, couscous, hazelnut pudding, and other things. Just tried the Balkin Grill and was very happy that I found this place. Service was awesome. Super friendly and helpful with trying to find something new to try. Four of us came in hungry and four of us left not hungry and very happy. If you are looking for a new place to eat you should definately come try this out. read more

The only reason I am giving 4 rather than 5 stars is because there is really nowhere to sit. You can shimmy up to a narrow bar against one wall but you may as well take the food home unless you are carting it so far away that it's going to get cold and soggy. That said, I love the food here. It is one of the few places you can get doner in the area and their bread is absolutely delicious. I've also had the adana kebap, İskender kebap, boreks, mixed grill platter and several sides. Everything has been delicious and fresh. The people working here are friendly and helpful as well. read more

Went there with some coworkers for Lunch. All I can say this is a great place to eat! Had the Adana Burger, and the CEVAPCICI/ INEGOL KOFTE - basically beef sausage. Nice service, the order was ready quickly. We had fries on the side, and they were cooked perfectly. I will definitely bring the family here. Not much for a sit-in dining experience - as they have about 6-7 stools in front of a counter to eat at. I will also try their catering. The fresh baked bread is excellent, and is perfect for the great food they have. read more

Quick stop decided on while traveling... Yelp and it's reviews did not disappoint. Excellent food. Two had the Adana Burger and they raved! Diner Kabab Sandwich was excellent. This place is great! I've gotten take out from here a couple of times but I have not been let down. The first time I tried this place I got their chicken shish kabob and it came on a bed of buttery rice, delicious! Another time I got food from here I tried one of their sandwiches on their fresh baked bread with beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and bell peppers and was not let down. The people there are always polite and willing to change anything for you if there's something you don't like on their sandwiches or platters. I cannot wait to try something new there the next time I get food from there. The only thing I will warn about is the very limited amount of seating. read more

I've been living within walking distance for THREE YEARS and I only discovered this place just now?! I had a bunch of extra living social bucks, saw the reviews here, and gave it a go. On everyone else's recommendations, I got the Bosnian Burger w/ fries, and the spinach borek. All of it SO good, and the portions are huge! I didn't know what to expect from the burger, but the meat is very similar to gyro meat, but in a thin burger form, and the bun is a delicious flat bread. There were a ton of fresh veggies on the side (onion, tomato, bell pepper), and a yummy light yogurt/sourt cream sauce (save the extra for your fries). The fries were also remarkable... dirty cut (w/ skin), crispy, awesome. The staff was also VERY friendly when I picked up my food. I'm gonna go pass out in a food coma now :) read more

I've been here so many times and the food is always just fantastic! Having lived in Turkey for many years, it isn't always easy to find really authentic food from that region, and if you do, it's typically not at a price I can afford to eat at often. This most recent time, I had my 3 year old with me while picking up food. They have a bowl of lollipops at the counter and the guy working there gave him one. My son was, of course, thrilled! We just got home and unpacked our bag to have dinner and I found a whole handful of lollipops in the bag!!! This place just "gets it" and does everything right. Thank you, Balkan Grill! read more

I LOVE coming here for meals and grabbing a few groceries to have at home. Recently, I had a special sekerpare order and I was so thrilled with how easily they accommodated my request, how wonderful and communicative they were, they were on time, and the cookies were perfect!! The guests at my event absolutely loved the cookies and I was so thankful that they helped me achieve my vision and made my life so much easier, at a fair cost and with so much kindness. A friend of mine and I decided to drop by for some lunch Sunday. I had previously read up on the rave reviews a week before and my curiosity got the better of me. The place is small with limited seating. The counter service was polite and forthcoming on our visit. The menu is well laid out and clear. I ordered the Adana Burger and a yogurt drink. My friend ordered the Raznjici. We found some seating and enjoyed our yogurt drinks. In the mean time other patrons arrived...the Balkan Grill is definitely popular. The one thing that caught me off guard...our orders arrived on real plates with proper cutlery...no cafeteria trays and paper plates. We proceeded to eat our lunch...served hot and fresh. The bread / bun on the Adana burger was definitely baked in house...right out of the oven. I am a fan. The burger has a spicy kick and is nicely off set with a side of sour cream, tomatoes and onions. I am giving my review an initial 4 start rating knowing that I will definitely visit again and try some of the other options. The one draw back is the limited seating for such a popular place. read more

Nice Eastern European style burger on pita with a yogurt sauce instead of mayo. I would go again for sure. Inexpensive and delicious.

I love the food at this place. Truly, I believe the people working there are great too. However whenever I do not get good customer service I cannot give a place five starts only because the product is good. Checked out the menu online and placed an order for my husband to pickup. Well, come to find out their online prices listed on their website http://www.balkangrill.us/, is not the same prices they charged my husband. He did let them know, but they refused to honor what is listed on their own website. Monetarily, it was not a big deal or a big difference; however that is atrociously horrible customer service and to some extent an illegal "bait & switch" tactic. I recall we have had a similar issue with the place before where their carry out menu listed a certain price but they refused to honor it and charged a higher price. I hope that the owner / manager would read this, benefit from it and correct their actions as it's a shame and disgrace for otherwise such a great food spot. read more
