My husband and I were in ABQ from out of town for the night; we went in and ordered carry out from Bamboo by Kulantro. It was SO good - some of the best pho ever!! We both got the "simple Pho" with double rare beef. The garnish was super fresh and the meat was tender + fresh as well. Fabulous portions and prices! We also got chicken spring rolls and they were HUGE - never had such jam packed spring rolls; they looked like burritos! We were so thrilled and if we find ourselves back in ABQ we'd most definitely come back! And great + friendly service! read more

I ordered delivery from here tonight... and ordered an embarrassing amount of food tonight for one person. And everything was seriously amazing. I've tried a few Vietnamese places since I've been in Albuquerque, and this one seems to blow the others away. I ordered the spring rolls, traditional. They were larger than the average spring roll and super reasonably priced. I like that they give you the option of fish sauce or peanut sauce... most restaurants always give peanut but I grew up using the nuoc Cham--fish sauce based for dipping. I also ordered the combination rice dish with fried rice and vegetables, combination pho, and a couple of meat skewers. (I promise there are left overs). The pork meat skewers taste like what my dad would make. They're seriously delicious. I haven't tried the vegetables yet but they look great... and the pho I liked a lot. It's not the best I've had, but it is definitely really really good. Overall, everything was amazing. This will probably be my new "go to" spot while I'm here. read more

The Bun (Vermicelli rice noodle) dish is teaming with raw and seasoned vegetables. I'm always excited to try new food places that come to ABQ & this one didn't disappoint! I came here on grand opening day w/ a friend & we were both excited on what this place had to offer. We came a little after the rush, hence grand opening, & was seated quickly. The menu had a simplistic design, fairly easy to navigate & pick out what to eat at ease. My friend & I ended up ordering the pork sausage spring rolls, the combination pho, & the rare steak pho. Our food came out quite quickly after we ordered & it was quite delicious. The pork sausage in the spring roll was quite flavorful & the protein in our pho was in a manageable size. The only thing that could possibly be improved upon would be the amount or rare steak in the rare steak pho.. I believe I got about 4 pieces? I think that adding in about 2-3 more pieces on top of that would be ideal! The interior is very simplistic & modern -- a wide variety of seating arrangements & very roomy. Dined here today with some friends. There were three of us. We ordered two shrimp spring rolls and one fried egg roll for appetizers. For entree, we got Kulantro pho, protein platter and tofu with rice noodle. This is the order our food came out. One shrimp spring roll, tofu with rice noodle, Kulantro pho, protein platter and fried egg roll. The second spring roll never came, even though we told our server twice. Our server's English wasn't good and she didn't try to understand, but kept saying ok like she understood, then nothing would happen. It was frustrating. The one order of shrimp spring roll that came out was already dry and tough to eat. I ended up just pulling out the shrimp from the roll. The tofu with rice noodle was good, but the fried tofu was a little too fried and tough to chew. My pho was supposed to have sliced brisket, tendon, meat ball and tripe. The tendon was like hard rubber and the sliced brisket was more like inedible, hard chunks. The broth was mildly flavored. The best meal was the protein platter. It was a little pricy at $20, but it was a good amount of meats and flavorful. After asking a third time, my friend never got her shrimp spring roll. When we got the bill, we checked to make sure we weren't billed for the missing spring roll. Turns out she didn't bill for the one spring roll we did get. We told her and she made the correction. I doubt I'll return again. If I do, I'll be getting the protein platter. The lady who was our server really needs to get someone who can take orders and understand English better and also bill more accurately. read more

I visited Bamboo Grill a couple of weeks ago for lunch, ordering a pork banh mi and their special lychee lemonade. The sandwich was absolutely delicious - perfectly seasoned meat, really fresh toppings and an excellent baguette. The limeade was out of this world - not overly sweet with super-fresh lime juice and lychees in the bottom of the glass. My husband and I went there for lunch today and had another marvelous meal - BBQ pork fried rice for him and a chicken lemongrass noodle bowl for me. Besides the pork, the fried rice had dried sausage, delicious veggies, and bits of scrambled egg. A wonderfully tasty meal! He also really enjoyed the lychee limeade. The lemongrass noodle bowl was fabulous. Again, the meat was perfectly seasoned, cooked with onion and bell pepper, and presented beautifully with a medley of fresh crisp vegetables on the side. It was a bit spicier than I was expecting, but that only added to the deliciousness. I can't recommend Bamboo Grill highly enough. read more

Great little restaurant in a plaza! I am always very critical of Asian food. Being from Vietnamese and Cambodian descent, I grew up with homemade soups like Pho and Bun Bo Hue.. This spot definitely nailed it! Great hospitality and new business! If you want to have your fix and you're from out of town this should be your go to! Family owned and operated! This used to be Bamboo Grill. The new owners have a much more limited menu now. It's a bit pricey but I have really enjoyed the food I have eaten here. I would give them five stars but the pricing kills it. I will keep coming back but definitely less often because of the cost. Still delicious though!! read more

In the area to take care of some other business and decided it was time for some lunch. But where? A quick check if Yelp and Bamboo Grill comes up, reviews look great and we haven't had Vietnamese food since moving here. So decision was made. The restaurant is in a non-descript strip mall, but was easy to find. For appetizers we ordered pan fried pot stickers. They were good, what made them unique was the dipping sauce-it was thick instead of the usual thin sauce. For entrees we ordered wok fried noodles with bbq pork. The noodles and vegs were cooked nicely, not over done, the pork was a little dry for me. And the curry noodle bowl with chicken. The yellow curry was spicy as expected and overall a tasty dish. Both were way more than was could eat in one sitting. So to-go boxes were filled with the next meal. The menu has something for almost everyone and quite a few things left for me to try. I heard there were new owners so I came to check it out. The restaurant was decorated in a modern and beautiful way and the menu was very minimalist. Honestly that scared me, I was afraid the food might not be authentic or Americanize, and I was craving a good bowl of authentic bun Bo hue. But oh man, when my bowl of bun Bo hue came out I could tell it was legit! The flavor of the lemon grass was there and it came with all the ingredients a bun Bo hue should have like pork blood and pork hock. I was so pleased to discover this place!! A friend took me to lunch and introduced me to it. Funny thing is it's a few minutes from my house and I never knows it was there! Turns out I knew the waiter from another of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants and he's always been stellar. I usually get the soups, but I went out on a limb and got a hot pot at my friends recommendation. It was delicious and I had enough for left overs! My friend got the bahn mi and said it was also very good. He drives from the North Valley to eat here so that says something in my book. Wow, what a delightful surprise for dinner tonight! Everything was fresh and so tasty. I ordered the Xa Xiu noodles...the pork was so juicy and flavorful. The vegetables were al dente which was perfect with the softness of the egg noodles. Overall, delicious and light. We also ordered the grilled skewers to share...the Angus steak and shrimp were in particular my favorite. And the grape leaf stuff with beef? Never experienced those spices before...so delicious and nice heat that didn't linger. We definitely plan to order here again. read more

The Cornish game hen is a little bit bland I wished it had more spices but the fried rice that goes with it is bomb and it also come with a slaw. This lovely place opened up near my house so I was really excited! My husband ordered the special pho which was very flavorful and a big portion! Enough for me to steal a small bowl of his portion . The crispy egg noodle seafood combo was delicious and was still crispy by the time we brought it home. We also ordered the bao sliders as an appetizer, and it did not disappoint! Very pleased with this restaurants food. The clay pot is ridiculously good with the tofu, all the vegetables and the flavors are amazing. The curry tofu with vegetables is also off the chain. The spice hits you slowly and perfectly. I added a chicken skewer and the chicken skewer was tender and delicious the spices were amazing, and the peanut sauce was very unique. Definitely an amazing experience for sure. We will definitely be dining in once this COVID-19 stuff is over. I can sum up my review in one word - Yum! I ordered delivery last night from Bamboo Grill and am so glad I did! The Bao sliders are amazing. So tasty and well seasoned. We also had Pho with brisket- perfectly seasoned broth, lean slices of brisket and all the side add-ins were fresh and plentiful - bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, limes, cilantro and basil, and of course a huge serving of noodles. The third dish was the Vermicelli Noodle Bowl with grilled pork. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The pork was not as lean as I would like, but had a good taste. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. About their packaging- I was a little worried about take out Pho because the noodles can get mushy if they sit in broth for too long. Much the my pleasure the broth was packaged separately from the noodles and all the veggies. Nicely done! FINALLY found a Vietnamese restaurant that proved excellent in each and every aspect of a meal. I have tried so many since moving here a few yrs ago from the NW, and a few here are quite good, but I am totally hooked on this restaurant. REAL limeade (not lemon), delicious FRESH spring rolls with fabulous sauce. tender shrimp and perfect pork. FRESH shredded carrot and cabbage. perfect noodles. I rarely ask for take-home containers because I'm rarely convinced the meal's qualities will survive those extra hrs saved. but nope - my remaining lunch happily became my dinner. and did I mention EXCELLENT service? both menu and interior are simple, for the very best reasons: it's the FOOD. this place is just pure gold. read more
