I read some of the reviews, and I don't understand how anyone can have a complaint at all. Each time I've been there, even the 1/2-size plates are overflowing with food, deliciously prepared, and extremely reasonable prices. Never had a problem with service, either. So maybe this restaurant reads their reviews and listens to them, or we've been lucky enough to catch them on their best days. My advice? Go try Bamboo for yourself. This ones tough. I'll give another shot but one pro is the price. This is some great food for the price point(s). You can eat lunch for less than panda it seems and get decent food. The lo mein wasn't great. I've had Chinese food in NYC and California. I'm assuming all these reviews are from locals who haven't had anything to compare this to. Service was good, I did get greeted by 3 people which I appreciated and it was pretty fast, the food coming out. But Singapore noodles, I ate them but they weren't great. Had a very Indian taste to em which makes sense for Singapore noodles but hey it was good not great. Lo mein was a disappointment. Tasted like that mall lo mein in the food court. I'd say if your local try this out you would like this. If your a transplant that just moved here or are in SA for business be wary. I'd say if you crave Asian food go for Thai, locally. read more

I was delivered restaurant quality food sooner than expected on a Saturday night. Noodles with tofu and pepper steak with fried rice. Tofu was perfectly bitey outside, soft inside, sliced beef was tender and sauce was juicy. Personally, I prefer more vegetables but I will request it next time. read more

Placed my first to-go order along with coworkers a week ago (just chicken fried rice and rangoon) and it was so delicious and the staff was so quick to get the order together that we decided to order again this week. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice and a full order of rangoon. The wait was a little longer but that was fine. I'm glad a privately owned small business was busy during these times. When I received my food it looked delicious. The taste? Eh. The sweet and sour sauce given with my lunch plate and rangoon smelled and tasted spoiled. I had to ask a coworker if I was crazy, but she agreed with me. I had to eat my chicken without sauce. Rangoon were delicious as always. But this sweet and sour sauce issue leaves a sour taste in my mouth (sorry) and I'm not sure I will order from Bamboo again. read more
