"HHHHEEEEYYYY" said the glossy-eyed man behind the register, complete with huge ear-to-ear grin. We had a pleasant exchange as he took my order. He had turned to work on another task while I was signing the receipt and basically forgot about our transaction. Seems his...*ahem* short term memory problems got the better of him. I wanted a receipt but I realized that might be a bit tough for him so I opted to simply leave the store copy on the counter and have a seat. On the plus side: he got distracted from our transaction because he moved on to helping orders get out, so I have no complaints about the initial impression, he relied my order correctly so his overindulgence in his activities during lunch break were amusing. They have several veggie options which are simple yet delicious. I really enjoyed my sandwich and saw many items that I would like to try. My first impression of Bang Bang was a good one and I'm looking forward to trying them again! read more

Didn't really deliver that bang for me. Bang Bang Cafe feels like a coffee shop that's trying to be a restaurant and I'm not entirely on board. Since when did burritos and coffee go together? And if a burrito is the signature menu item, why the sloppy blandness? My frittata special wasn't that much better, "previously frozen leftovers" felt like a more appropriate name because the egg was soggy and the sausages were flavorless chunks. Highlights of my meal included the side of potatoes and my caramel coffee, which was beautifully presented and not offensively sweet. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon for a study sesh or lunch date, but I did enjoy the variety of customers that were in the store on a weekend morning, it was pleasantly neighborhoody. read more

Vegan Mac and cheese! We passed by this place on our way to grab a bite at the market, but the numerous hot sauces on the tables caught our eye so we thought we'd give it a try. We were so happy to discover there were numerous vegan options on the menu, including delicious Mac and cheese! We shared that and the vegan burrito, both delicious and cheap! Will definitely return when in the area, the staff were friendly and laid back as well. read more

I came here for a quick breakfast/brunch with my bf. We ordered the bang bang breakfast burrito, the corn-chile soup, and a cup of hot cocoa. The Bang Bang was all right, the flavors worked. I thought it would have been spicier though, with a name like Bang Bang. The corn-chile soup was great, it had an excellent flavor. The soup was also pretty light, pretty much perfect for breakfast. However, the hot cocoa was pretty disappointing. Despite looking very pretty with a leaf design in the steamed milk, it tasted like it came out of a Nestle Hot Chocolate packet. I guess more people drink coffee here... but I don't always want to have coffee... There was also a large group of students discussing how to read the Bible on the day I went. Not exactly my conversation of choice to overhear, but the place is all right for larger groups wishing to hang out or discuss things. read more

Like a pack of ravenous wolves spotting a giant Caribou struggling in the snow, Bang Bang Cafe appeared in a nick of time for us. We were hungry and desperately seeking a place to eat after wandering the Seattle waterfront for hours. As my calf muscles burned while pushing the blasted double BOB up a couple killer Seattle hills and dodging oblivious cruise ship tourists, Bang Bang glowed with tempting delight as I surfaced the crest of the hill to Western Ave. "Let's try it" I said. The cashier was patient with me as I stood there like an oblivious cruise ship tourist, scanning the chalkboard menu for something that caught my eye. I settled on a bagel with egg, Avocado, and Tomato. An egg and cheese bagel for the kids. And the Turkey sandwich for the wife. My wife is from NM so she spotted the subtle hints of NM decor, such as the Zia symbol on the wall. I guess the owners are from NM. One has to wonder how the name Bang Bang came to be. Billy the Kid perhaps? He died in NM I think. Not sure. Maybe I should Google it. Anyway, we like guns so we were just fine with the revolvers on the menu and name that implies a double-tap to the sternum. Alright, that's a bit morbid for a cafe, but you won't forget the name. And if you like the food, which we did, then remembering the name of a place is important. Since I had a Vivace latte earlier in the day, I wanted to compare it with another latte from a "normal" place. I got a tall raw sugar latte and it was decent, but nowhere close to Vivace. So, I have it figured out: Vivace for coffee in the morning and Bang Bang for lunch. That works for me. read more

I went there because it was highly recommended by folks in the building at work, and I love the concept of veggie, vegan, no hooves. But it doesn't taste good. I had the breakfast burrito... it was mostly tortilla and horrendously bland... the home made hot sauce is hot but utterly tasteless (how is this possible, you might ask... yeah, beats me). Not to be deterred by the not so great experience, I went back some weeks later and tried something else... another burrito - this time with turkey sausage. It was even worse than the first time, I had to pick out all the turkey sausage and leave it on the plate and just eat the.... tortilla. What a waste of $9. Really nice people... really good for the earth, blah blah blah. But I really can't be bothered to go back. Thumbs down, bang bang. read more

This is a clean and modern cafe serving breakfast burritos and paninis. The cashier gave us some great recommendations: turkey swiss panini and tuna melt. There's seats outside and some benches along the windows for some great people watching. I'm taking a star away for the 30 min wait for our sandwiches (and the place was not crowded.) Plus the fact that they made us get our own food when it was finally ready while it seemed like everyone else got their food brought to their table. The sandwiches were pretty delicious, very hot and crunchy. Came with a small branch of red grapes. Kind of small portions for about $6-7 sandwiches. read more

I initially found bang bang looking for some vegan breakfast options in the area while apartment hunting. Luckily, bang bang is right near my new home and has TONS of vegan options. A chill and comfortable spot, bang bang has a fun decor with kitty paintings, huge windows and awesome staff. Take your pick of a variety of coffee drinks (all very reasonably priced) and a big menu. The menu has everything from breakfast burritos (vegan options also!) to pressed sandwiches (vegan BLT, YAY). I really love the vibe here compared to other coffee shops in Seattle, it's not pretentious, good food, and great local/neighborhood feel. This will sure become my local hangout as I am moving into the hood. thanks bang bang! read more

The coffee and the southwest mac and cheese I had were good. Not great, mind you, but not bad. The place is a little frenetic. Lines aren't clear, and there doesn't seem to be any sense of order. It feels hectic to me. read more

I discovered the existence of Bang Bang on a Sunday morning, which meant that between the fact they're closed Sundays and my work-week schedule I had to wait a whole week to try them. So when Saturday morning rolled around I was very excited to head over for brunch. We ordered a pair of vegan breakfast burritos from the very friendly woman at the counter. We elected to add chili sauce, which seems to be a bit of a signature thing for the cafe. These turned out to be some of the best burritos I've ever had. I've always tended to have vegan burritos that are dominated by things like huge chunks of tofu, faux meats, soy sour cream, globs of guacamole. Basically, using a lot of delicious fat to make it tasty. These burritos, though, were made tasty by actually being well and thoughtfully prepared. They were smaller than the overstuffed monsters I've gotten elsewhere (though still plenty of food). They were filled with beans, mushrooms, zucchini, and roasted potatoes, and had generous portions of red and green chili sauces on top. So very tasty, I actually ate extra slowly to get to enjoy it for longer. Now I just have to figure out how to convince myself to try other places for breakfast on Saturday mornings now that I know about Bang Bang. read more

It's really difficult to find a good burrito in Seattle at least from my experience and being raised in LA. I'm also vegan so my options are limited when it comes to Mexican food in the city I like bang bang because they offer a white variety of vegan options. Both dessert and main dishes. To start off, the staff and the ambiance was great! And for that reason alone I would consider coming back to try the coffee. However, my vegan breakfast burrito just had a little too much going on for me. Soyrizo, Beans and grilled veggies, and unfortunately the tortilla was a bit soggy. Also, it was spicy which usually, I love, however in this scenario it was so much that I felt like that was all I could taste. However, the burrito was a large portion and cost around $12, I am not sure if its worth $12, just due to the fact that the coinciding flavors just were not doing it for me. read more

Great neighborhood spot for coffee and wifi, has really good sandwiches and wraps. The owners are from New Mexico so they also have burritos with hatch chili sauces, but they don't have rice inside, they use potato wedges. read more

I've been to this place twice now, and I have to admit i'm a fan. The VBLT is amazing, as is their breakfast burritos. Mmmmm the chili sauce they put on the burritos is very tasty and will keep you full for hours. The prices are reasonable, there's plenty of seating, and everything is made fresh. read more

Bang Bang is a great little coffee shop. I freakin love the cat artwork on the walls. The music was great. The staff was friendly. My coffee was quite good. I was kinda Meh with the Bang Bang breakfast burrito. Pototoes inside were very dry and whatever turkey bacon they use in it is so salty that they may as well get regular pork bacon. Its likely just as healthy. I loved the roja and verde sauces on top, although these would have served the burriot better if they were inside instead. The interior of the burrito was quite dry. Not a bad burrito, but for the price its a stretch even though the ingrediants are quality. This is the kind of little shop that could be a mainstay for the long term (by that I mean the post-Amazon apocalypse). Its a nice shop in a great locale with a smart menu. I think there needs to be a little more thought put into the food, espeically if the Flagship item that bears the cafe's name is so-so at best. If they dial in that burrito, the can corner the neighborhood. We shall see. read more

This review applies uniquely to the food experience. I thought it was weird for a cafe to serve mexican food, but nevertheless I decided to give it a try. Prices were higher than what was listed on Yelp ($13 and not $8.50 for the red Chile burrito). Kind of expensive, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. What I got was a food experiment, very little beans, poorly seasoned brisket, and vegetables unconventionally places in a burrito (zucchini?). The service and the employees were friendly, but it's a hard pass. Maybe the coffee is better? read more

This was difficult to rate because the food was simply edible and nothing more, but the coffee was DELICIOUS! I got the basic burrito (egg, cheese, potatoes) with jimmy dean sausage. A fair amount of the potatoes were rock hard an in edible, the sausage could have been cooked a bit more, and the tortilla was extremely soft - and not in a good way - almost soggy like it was microwaved as opposed to being cooked fresh on the stove. The rating is more for the extreme friendliness of the staff and the DELICIOUS coffee. I ordered a white mocha which tasted more like a cappuccino, but I love me a good cappuccino so I was happy. Is definitely come back for the coffee and maybe try a sandwich next time. read more

Very impressed with this small café in Belltown. Offering a mix of both vegan, vegetarian and meat options, it is a fantastic place for vegetarians to bring out of town guests who want multiple options. The coffee tasted great, the vegan burrito was amazing! Also sampled the vegan BLT which was very good as well. I will be back for more from Bang Bang Café! read more

We recently visited during a trip to Seattle and we loved it. I had the vegan breakfast burrito and it was fantastic. My husband had the bagel with toffutti and it was also yummy. The americano was good, not great but good. The staff was super friendly. The only con this place has is no high chair and is only open until 5pm. read more

I went for my first time and ordered the Vegan Burrito. It was very spicy but delicious. I didn't realize it at the until about halfway through my burrito that they have free infused water. It really helped with the heat. So if you like hot food but turns out its spicier than your used to, just get some infused water and you will be fine. Delicious coffee too :) read more

Soooo good! HIGHLY recommend the Mac and Cheese and their Mighty-O-Donuts for dessert! Best vegan place to eat at by far when we went to visit Seattle for the day! I tried the bang bang burrito- wheuu too spicy and couldn't finish it. I told the girl about it and she didn't care in the least. I told her maybe it would be beneficial for customers to know how spicy it is by marking it on the menu. No concern whatsoever. Won't be coming back. Just make sure not to run out of the Ube syrup, or the pancakes themselves will be a little dry. We made that mistake, but the pancakes alone were still tasty. Highly recommend if you like taro-ish flavor or want something sweet. The food overall was delicious, it was about my second time trying lumpia and omg sooo good. One of the servers was kind enough to explain to us which part of the Philippines each of the sausages in the combo plate originates from. One was from the Northern part of the Philippines (think it's the Ilocos sausage, reddish color) and the other one was the classic longanisa. I got a calamansi juice and ommmgggg sooo delicious, I had never had it before, and now I've gotta figure out how to buy some to enjoy at home. The servers were all friendly and attentive, and the place itself was clean and inviting, with lots of nods to Filipino culture and the family that runs the restaurant. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good-quality, hearty Filipino breakfast. Depending on what you get, be prepared for a food coma afterward!

For dessert, profiteroles and their galette of the day w/ housemade ice cream - wow. An absolutely delightful meal. Can't wait to return!

When this place first opened I went everyday and everyday the two female owner swere super sweet and very kind to my dog that goes everywhere with me. It was exciting to have a fresh food & good menu in the "residential" area of Belltown. However, as business picked up the service went down hill. I came in everyday and the new servers didn't take the time to learn my name, would hold their backs to the entrance and I'd have to do the excuse me cough, ask me 5 times if it's for here or to go, and would forget to make my drink after I just waited 20 mins for my burrito. Usually I would let it slide but it continued and I had it when the food was becoming careless. I ordered an egg, potato, cheese, sausage Burrito and got a potatoes only. I was done!!! So I boy-cotted it for 6 months to see if it's just needing to get organized. However, I just returned and it was the same thing. I have told 6 people about the place and each one of them have said the same. It all came down to the service still being un-thoughtful, not remembering, and worst wait time as gone up on food. Bang Bang has cured my hangover many times. My GF lives across the street and we would wake up, head over and order a burrito and coffee and feel alive again. The food is good, the coffee good. Sometimes the line gets super long (hey, a lot of people love this place) and you have to wait, but it's usually worth it. The chicken adobo was outstanding, the asparagus appetizer was fresh and beautifully prepared, and the calamansi cake dessert was a perfect finish. Another thing I appreciated was how they involve different Seattle companies as volunteer front-of-house staff. Tonight it was a team from U.S. Bank serving tables. Several of them mentioned they had never served before but were volunteering their time for the evening, which made the experience feel even more special. Between the volunteer servers and the students in the kitchen, the whole night had a great energy. Spend a few moments to talk to her (if it's not too busy). My favorites are their egg sandwiches, but their omelettes are great too. A little pricey, but worth it.
