We came here for dinner the week after spring break because we knew it would be practically impossible to get a reservation during the heart of spring break. Our food was absolutely incredible. All of the dishes were so tasty and flavorful and completely exceeded our expectations. However, our waiter was an absolute jerk, which is why I'm giving this restaurant three stars. It doesn't matter how amazing the food was, when you have horrible service it completely ruins the experience for you. Honestly we will not be back. He was very pushy and opinionated with our order and made us feel bad about ourselves. When I told him that I didn't want to order a drink he said "Why? What's the matter with you?" which was so rude and insensitive. Fast forward to the end of our dinner when we were ready to pay, he disappeared for about 35 to 40 minutes, and we were just sitting there trying to flag someone down to get their attention. So many wonderful restaurants in Miami Beach, we won't be visiting Baoli again. If you are in town for a Bach dinner try Juvia or Nobu if you want amazing food and service!! My MOH made a dinner reservation here well in advance, for our bachelorette party a while back and I'm just getting to all the reviews. They sat us in the worst possible table, next to the hostess booth as soon as you walk into the restaurant. The table almost seemed like a fold out table, almost like it was a last minute thing with super rickety chairs. Not the classy vibes we were expecting to get from here. We were getting judgmental stares from the hostesses all evening and a few of my bridesmaids overheard them talking badly about us. We felt extremely uncomfortable sitting in the restaurant and at that point we didn't really want to eat there anymore. When we asked to move to one of the other tables that were all empty, the rude hostesses said all the tables were reserved. They made us wait for a manager (dun dun dunnn) who was even more rude! Just really entitled and wasn't professional at all. He just ruined the night and experience for us overall... until we left the restaurant and finally got to enjoy ourselves! The outside was extremely warm since it is technically outdoors - We went back in and ordered from the main bar. $25 a drink, and they were neither strong nor big. Womp. We did the Omakese menu (standard, $120 pp) and it was so worth it. But be warned -- there are about 5 courses but way more than 5 plates come. Pace yourselves! We started with edamame and some kind of fried piece of sushi. Then we had a wonton/taco and dumplings with black truffle. Then we had a huge plate of sushi and nigiri, and I thought that would be the end of the meal. Nope!! After the fish we had salmon skewers and cucumber salad. Then a course of steak, black truffle rice, and French fries. Then finally... dessert; custard cake, ice cream, and crème brûlée. Needless to say, we were absolutely stuffed and we got SO much food! But we paid $360 for the two of us and 1 cocktail each. So be prepared to spend! On top of the food being excellent and plentiful, we had good service and a beautiful atmosphere. I've been living in Miami Beach for years, and Baoli was a place to go for birthdays and dinners with clients. Unfortunately last night I was extremely disappointed by poor service. We booked table for six people with 2 hour limit. Our experience was ruined by a constant reminder from our server Pedro for how long we can stay. 1 hour, 45 minutes, 30 minutes, 15 minutes. It was like a torture. When I tried to talk to Pedro, he couldn't stop but kept talking back and explaining me how much pressure they have from their management. After we moved to the bar area, a 'bus' boy almost pushed me away from there and kept saying something half Spanish, half English. I addressed my concerns to a manager named Thomas, and after sarcastically listening and bluntly apologizing, he got distracted and turned away, without saying anything at all. It was very upsetting to see service in Baoli went down so abruptly. I felt embarrassed in front of my clients, who were promised to have a great time at one of the top places in Miami Beach. First time visiting Miami. We were a party of 7. Arrived at this establishment. The bouncer said it was $700 for bottle service of which I thought was ludicrous. He was very rude and unprofessional towards me just because I said that was too much. I asked to speak to his manager and he told me he was one of the managers. Apparently he was upset over me voicing that it was too overpriced so he got butt hurt and said that everyone else can go inside except me. I explained to him that we were visiting from California. He did not care and was so rude. I felt it was important to let the owner of this establishment know the way this man lacks class as he may want to send him to courses on customer service. I will not be returning to this establishment and I know that regardless of what I write here today this place will still be around which in my opinion is very disheartening to the community of Miami and owner this is not the reputation I would want if I were a business owner. I suppose they don't respect and appreciate tourism.
