Beef carpaccio
Shea S.

The ambiance gives it a star bump from three to four. The Tuesday pasta day is legit and each pasta dish is "only" $14. We happened to go on a Tuesday not knowing so it was a pleasant surprise. The beef carpaccio is great, everything else's was good, nothing out of the ordinary or something I could say "you have to try this" lol. There are some great Italian spots in Columbus this one is good. Love the restaurant vibe, open air and beautiful. Nice addition to Easton

Bread service with ricotta cheese and prosciutto

Our second visit to this restaurant was better than our first. The bread service with ricotta and prosciutto was excellent. The ricotta was nice and light and the prosciutto was delicious. The seabass was cooked perfectly. The portions are quite large. The restaurant is a bit loud but festive.

The restaurant is very nice inside. The meatball was amazing and had ricotta that was great with bread. We went for lunch and had great service. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. The prices were reasonable and similar to other upscale Italian restaurants. I'll definitely be coming back!

So, me & my two daughters came here. The atmosphere was more casual than expected. The server was extremely nice & seemed like they enjoyed thier job. Ww got three appetizers. My favorite was the shrimp scampi. Extremely flavorful with a great kick. 8.5 outta ten. There was also short rib meatballs. 5.5 for me. To much coating. Then another dish with fried seafood. 8 outta 10. Our entrees. I got the short rib, mushroom & pasta. Well it was flavorless & nothing I'd recommend or order. Our server was great & took it off my bill. My daughters enjoyed thier meals. The drinks were delicious. Im glad we tried it. I would recommend trying atleast once.

Service: our waitress was excellent. Friendly, talkative, and attentive. Waters were always kept full and recommendations were on point. Ambiance/Atmosphere: inside is an elegant setting with the decor to match. An open space and open kitchen concept gives an elegant setting and truly a perfect date night location. Food: Chicken limone was amazing. Buttery and the perfect citrus balance. Two medium size chicken breasts and the most delicious pasta pairing. The arugula salad was a phenomenal match with the rest of this dish. I'd highly recommend. Chicken parm was alright. One singular medium chicken breast that is crispy, but also a little soggy with the breading peeling off. The cheese was fresh and high quality mozzarella. The bread crumb was under seasoned and the chicken was a little bland. The marinara pasta pairing was delicious. Perfect cooked noodles with a delicious citrus, but settle sauce with a slight kick to it. The arugula salad paired fantastic once again with this dish. For a chicken parm I'd say you're better off finding one else where. Zucchini Fries were good. Calamari batter fried zucchini sticks paired with an amazing lemon aioli sauce. This was a pleasant and light start to the meal. I'd recommend. Lasagna was good. Alfredo, marinara, and pesto atop a large portion. This was tender, well seasoned and an all around pleasant lasagna. The pesto was excellent, marinara was delicious, and the Alfredo was good although the lacking of the three I'd recommend. NY strip was excellent. Perfect crust and cook. Flavorful, juicy, tender steak and I was highly surprised beings this is an Italian restaurant. The steak truly was the highlight of the night. The risotto pairing was not good. This dish would be elevated heavily if paired with the limone pasta. I'd highly recommend, but sub the risotto. Margherita pizza was delicious. The best margherita pizzas I've had in Columbus. Perfect dough with fresh melted mozzerella. The sauce wasn't overly citrusy and paired excellently. Pepperoni pizza was good. Flavorful with the same fresh cheese and excellent sauce. The pepperonis had a nice kick to them, but there was no hot honey in sight. Regardless this was a pleasant pizza and I'd recommend. Vodka sausage pizza was good. The sausage was well seasoned and the caramelized onions added a pleasant sweetness. The vodka sauce didn't give me much and you really couldn't tell it was there. The cheese was excellent of course. I'd recommend. Key lime pie was good. Creamy, tangy, and tart with the most amazing sugar cookie crust. I'll say it is very rich and tangy and I'd be impressed if someone could finish this alone. If key lime pie is your thing, I'd definitely recommend. Spumoni was excellent. In house made pistachio and chocolate gelato with dark cherries to top along with a dark cherry sauce. This was amazing and the best chocolate gelato I've ever had. The pistachio gelato was good, but could use more pistachio flavor. The pistachio flavor dissipated quickly and turned into a basic vanilla. I would insist on this order.

LOVED Bar Italia! Fancy and romantic ambiance with nice art, skylights, and white linen curtains galore. Can't wait to see what the vibes are like in summer. Great service with an attentive waitress. Really liked that you have the option to choose between still and sparkling water. Their Italian wedding soup is definitely a switch from the more traditional kind with lettuce as opposed to spinach. Found the broth to be bland, but delicious meatball inside and their bread is to die for. Thoroughly enjoyed everything else that we tried. The affogato is good, the bucatini with Sunday sauce special was so rich and meaty, and the classic chicken parm was tender and came with a delicious arugula salad which I call "lettuce with swag"! A wonderful meal and great newer addition to Easton!

Okay.... Just okay. Bar Italia is a cute restaurant that's appealing to the eye! However, I think that's to compensate for the food that's lacking. The zucchini fries were ordered for the table and were just limp.... Not tasty.... & inconsistent. Some fries were crispy and others were mushy... no thank you. My salmon entree was good tho. It was tasty, seasoned well, & warm. However, the menu is set up in a way to encourage sides and what not since the dish itself is essentially just protein. So my other critique is that for the high end prices, the food should be top tier and should match the vibe. Similar to ordering at Del Mar. Bar Italia almost gives a vibe similar to Cheesecake Factory, which is not what u usually would expect (Don't get me wrong, i love CC factory).

We had a wonderful holiday dinner. The service was impeccable. It was the most enjoyable dining experience I have had in a large group. We did have dinner early at 5pm and on a monday but we had beautiful soundproof private dining room. The crispy chicken limone was excellent. I would definitely pick this again for group dining experience if this level of food and service could be replicated

First time reviewing. Gorgeous restaurant with simply flavorful food...what more can you ask? First off, I love the restaurant! Beautiful, open spaced dining area. Tonight it was busy and festive. People were having such a good time. Personally, I found so many things on the menu I want to try. There were three of us, so we started with the grilled rustic bread topped with whipped ricotta and prosciutto. We also got some of the zucchini fritti. This was perfect for three people. I lost count how many times we said, "this is so good." One person got the lasagna and she said she would definitely get this again. Another person got the Spicy Vodka Rigate with shrimp. I got the Garganelli Diavolo with shrimp. I tried both and they are both delicious. I absolutely loved mine. It has some heat to it, so it was perfect for me. But if you're a wimp, you may want to avoid this dish. Leave more for me. lol We ended the dinner with some of their house made limoncello and couple of slices of key lime pie. Wow! Please don't skip the key lime pie. This was beyond good. This is the kind of dessert you tell your friends about. Overall the dining experience as wonderful. It wasn't perfect. There were a few service mistakes but it is a new restaurant. Some of these bugs will hopefully get worked out. I rated it 5 stars because the food was that good for each of us. We all said this ranks really high on our favorite Italian places to eat. We can't wait to come back.

Spicy Vodka Rigate
Juliana S.

I was super excited to visit Bar Italia tonight as it just recently opened at Easton. I ordered the Spicy Vodka Rigate and the Cortona Paloma. Both were fresh and tasted great. The ambiance is beautiful, though it was extremely loud, understandable for a Friday night, but something to be aware of if you're looking for a quieter experience. Service-wise, there's definitely room for improvement, which is expected with a new restaurant. Our server was prompt and attentive, almost too much so, visiting our table nine times in just over an hour. Drinks took a long time to arrive, and we were asked to order our dinners before the drinks even made it to the table. The entrees came out almost immediately, and we were asked about boxing them up before we'd finished eating. It all felt a bit rushed. Also, we came during happy hour but were not given happy hour pricing, which was disappointing. Overall, the food was solid and fairly priced. I'd be open to coming back once they've had more time to get into a groove.

Crispy chicken
Janice W.

We ate at Bar Italia for the first time at Easton Mall. The ricotta bread as an appetizer was outstanding! My daughter ordered the crispy chicken and thought that was very good, however, I ordered the pepperoni and honey pizza and I thought it was subpar. I've had that type of pizza from several other places that I thought was much better. Our waitress was very friendly and hospitable, but the service was super slow. I read a lot of reviews complaining about that and have to agree with all of the previous reviews.

Lunch menu - 8" pizza and Caesars salad

**new opening review** Bar Italia is absolutely gorgeous inside. Open air patio that carries inside with lots of windows bringing in natural light and contemporary design. My group of friends jumped on the opportunity to book a reservation for lunch on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday. Service was slow and not very attentive or detailed oriented. Some drinks came late or not at all and food order was mixed up. Give them grace when coming here right now given the staff is all learning. We ordered the grilled bread for the table and topped it with the whipped ricotta and prosciutto. Hands down the best thing ever. For those who don't like ricotta (not sure why you wouldn't but I know a few people, Jess!) it doesn't feel like you are eating ricotta. When they whip it, it changed the texture and flavor for the better. Get it! We also ordered the Zucchini Fritti. It was a large order and at a great price. Firm yet cruncy Zucchini with a marinara sauce and a lemon aoli. Good for the table. I ordered the pizza (8" for lunch) and simple salad but got the Ceasars salad instead. The pizza had a burnt dry crust. The sauce was neutral in flavor and the right amount of cheese and basil but I just couldn't enjoy it. The salad was great, dressing was light and wasn't pungent or overpowering like other Ceasars dressings. A friend got the classic chicken parmesan and it was sooo good. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right and you can tell the pasta is fresh. A grilled lemon on the side was perfect to squeeze on top to cut the saltiness of the dish. We didn't do dessert given our service was extremely slow and server never even offered. Management did their rounds and listened to our concerns in hopes to make this place great. I have high hopes for my next visit. Prices and ambiance will bring me back. Bar Italia and Lindy's have the same owner so I expect they will only continue to get better and become great.

Green salad with grilled chicken
Nancy L.

I ordered the green salad with grilled chicken. There were only a few grape tomatoes and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese on the salad. The chicken was nicely grilled but a bit dry. My friends had all ordered the pizza and salad combination plate and their pizzas looked delicious. I should have ordered that instead. Our server was attentive and the service was pretty quick for such a large group. The room started to get loud due to the increasing lunch crowd. The restaurant was very neat and clean. Gratuity is automatically added to the check with a larger group. I would definitely try this restaurant again.

The pasta fritto antipasto was an early standout as well as the Giuseppe's Salad with its rich olive oil-based dressing. Then came Giuseppe's Sampler headlined by the lasagna. The meatball and spaghetti was almost as great, but the eggplant parmesan kept the trio from being an all-time sampler. (My wife chose the eggplant option over the chicken parmesan, which would not have been my individual call). She got fettuccine alfredo which I also enjoyed. It was also topped with black truffle and honey (from a local vendor)! The sourdough bread that the whipped ricotta was served with was super fresh and warm (and from a local vendor as well)! Salad - we ordered a Caesar salad as well. I thought that it was super nice that they plated the salad on two plates for us knowing that we were splitting it! Super thoughtful! The romaine was crispy (not soggy), the croutons were freshly made, the dressing had the anchovy flavor that I appreciate in a good Caesar dressing, and the salad was topped with a little lemon zest! I will definitely return just for the Caesar salad! Meals - I went with the Rigatoni and my husband went with the Lasagna. We were informed by our server that the flour used for the pasta is imported from Italy and that the pasta is made fresh daily - LOVE this! The rigatoni was SO good! I love that the pasta and shrimp were all cut into smaller bites! The sauce was absolutely delicious! The flavor was like a mix between a thick tomato bisque and curry! Yum! My husband really enjoyed the lasagna as well! The lasagna was plated into little roll-ups which my husband really liked! Will definitely be back soon - we want to check out the patio once we have warmer weather too!

My son and his wife took us to a an amazing place they stumbled into what may very well be the culinary pride of Columbus: La Tavola, a family-owned, family-run Italian restaurant that feels like someone teleported you straight into Nonna's kitchen... but with better lighting and no guilt about not calling enough. If you love yourself a great, unapologetically stinky pizza and I'm talking Parmigiano-Reggiano and ricotta levels of heavenly funk then this is your place. This pizza didn't just have cheese; it was knee-deep in cheese. Handmade, hand-rolled, and clearly crafted by people who know their way around a dairy situation. The appetizers? Fantastic. The waitstaff? Friendly, attentive, and exactly the kind of people you'd hope are handing you carbs by the plateful. But then, the main dishes arrived. I ordered seared scallops over a bed of handmade buttery fettuccine with capers, and I swear I heard an angel sing. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the pasta was the kind that ruins you for boxed pasta forever, and the whole thing tasted like someone's Italian grandmother blessed the plate personally. If I could say "WAY TO GO!" in Italian, I absolutely would but instead I'll say this: If you're ever in Columbus, go to La Tavola. Go hungry. Go ready to eat like you're visiting family. And go prepared to fall a little bit in love with this place. Family-owned, warm, cozy, and outrageously delicious. Highly recommend.

After skimming through the reviews I was a bit hesitant on coming here, but honestly I can assure you that the only thing I regret is not trying this place sooner. My boyfriend and I noticed it was in a small plaza and our first thought was that a "hole in the wall" place are usually the best so we were immediately excited. I did make a 6pm reservation after reading the reviews even though it was Wednesday and we were seated on arrival. We noticed the place was starting to get packed so I do agree that making a reservation would be best or try to avoid coming here on the weekends if you have issues with waiting or being crammed in small places. From start to finish, everything was a delight. Here's what we savored: * The homemade bread and butter- simply fantastic. I was going to ask for warm bread after reading a review, but since the waitress brought it out immediately I didn't mind and honestly it didn't need to be warm because it was good as is. The butter IS a true winner. I had to pace myself because I didn't want to fill up too soon! * Apps: WARNING portions are generous enough to be meals! We couldn't believe they were appetizers when it was brought out. Crab Cake- I've eaten a lot of crab cakes and I will say no, this wasn't the best crab cake I've had in my life BUT it was definitely a really good crab cake. Especially one with no breading. It was served with a delicious lemon butter sauce. Whoever wrote that the sauce was "sour" in a review made me giggle while eating this because I mean the sauce has lemon in it... hence the name, but even so the flavors were perfectly balanced and I enjoyed every bite. Fried Eggplant- okay my taste buds went over the moon with this one. An absolute standout. The eggplant was cooked to near perfection, and the creamy tomato sauce was to die for. 10/10! It was such a flavorful dish. Tossed Salad- a fresh, vibrant salad with a vinaigrette dressing so addictive we finished it in minutes. This is a unique salad because of the bow tie pasta in it. The tomatoes and green beans that also come in the salad are a nice touch and very enjoyable. * Entree- my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Marsala and he loved it! The chicken was cooked flawlessly, and the pasta was incredibly soft--possibly one of the best texture I've ever experienced. The marsala sauce was rich and flavorful. Ravioli- I opted for the spinach noodles with ricotta cheese and chose the link sausage. I also asked to have the crumbled sausage added as well (for an extra charge) because I needed to try this sausage that everyone has been talking about..... This Morettis sausage recipe does NOT disappoint. If you don't like "spice" you won't like it because it does have a kick to it, but I enjoy spicy. I will say I'm a fan of the crumbled sausage over the links though. It may be the same thing??? but I could go without the link casing. The ravioli were massive, perfectly stuffed, and absolutely delicious. Dessert: We couldn't resist not ordering and trying the dessert so we took it to go. They were offering a caramel apple cheesecake. After the food coma wore off, we enjoyed it at home, and I fell even more in love with this place. It's unlike anything I've tasted--cheesecake with apples inside is a game-changer! Every sauce and dish was outstanding, bursting with flavor and made with care. Karen took excellent care of us, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had a fantastic first experience. We're already planning our return to explore more of the menu. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. This place truly exceeded my expectations!

My girlfriend and I went to Pasqualone's in Columbus Square last evening. To say that we were blown…read moreaway would be an understatement. From the time we walked in the door, a gentleman in the kitchen looked up and said greeted us. (There's a door so you can see into the kitchen from the foyer) I later learned it was Dave Pasqualone himself. We were promptly shown to our table and within a few minutes, a gentleman by the name of Chris introduced himself and told us what the specials for the evening were. Everything sounded great but my girlfriend picked the saccettini with the amatriciana sauce and I had the veal scalopini with a small side of saccettini. The meal was PERFECT! You could taste richness of the homemade saccettini stuffed with cheese. I was told that the pasta for the lasagna noodles are made on site which is used for the saccettini. The veal scallopini was so tender, I could cut it with a fork. Not too many capers, the right combination of butter, white wine and lemon. My girlfriend's amatriciana sauce (she was kind enough to give me a taste of two) had a little bit of a bite to it but not too much. It was mouth watering. We finished off the evening with a homemade cannoli which was superb. Towards the end of the evening, Dave came out into the dining room and personally greeted each table. We learned that Dave was the head chef at Monaco's Palace on Cleveland Ave many years ago. They always had wonderful food. To find this gem of a restaurant in Northeast Columbus, in a part of town where many restaurants come and go each month or year, is like finding a needle in a haystack. This quiet little Italian restaurant is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall that was incredibly popular in the 80's and 90's and has been churning out delicious homemade Italian dishes for over 20 years. We will definitely become regular patrons of this gem of a place. Thank you Dave, Chris and the other members of their staff to make a date night with my girlfriend a memorable experience.

This place is old school and I love it! When I walked in for my reservation the Owner/Chef popped out from the kitchen and said "Good Evening Mrs. Wilson" because well, we were the only reservation at that time. Really impressed my friends lol. We picked the day before Thanksgiving to dine out with friends we hadn't seen in a while. This is a great place for a small group to sit and talk (and be heard) without being rushed. Restaurant was 60% full? Fantastic full premium bar, great wine list and helpful servers. Just top to bottom great food and service. From the menu, it seems like a limited selection of standard Italian fair. Order from the specials, they are chef recommended and always fantastic. Even the basic spaghetti + meatballs is great! Entres $30-50 which is really pretty reasonable. Just me but, I would love more vegetables on the menu as sides with my pasta. Most meals do come with soup or salad. Great for small group (less than 10) but not sure how many they would take honestly. You will get fantastic service, great food, in a nice quieter environment. Looking forward to going back in the new year!

This little gem in Victorian Village is a must visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian food and stellar service. I came here with my roommates family for a celebratory dinner and had an amazing four course dining experience. I was intimidated at first by the number of courses, but each dish is in a small tasting format. Not only was the food delish but our water was incredible. He took time to go through each dish and explain the ingredients and origin. You could tell he was super passionate about his job and the food there. I'm going to come back to try their cacio pepe that they mix in a cheese wheel in front of you!! 10/10!!

The dinner made for an amazing dinner out. The presentation of every dish was remarkable. The service was phenomenal and a pretty cool seasonal menu! We did the four course + started with bread that we enjoyed through the meal. Great experience and made for a lovely dinner. Chris has been wanting to check this place out forever. I didn't care for my main dish and they swapped it out rather quickly. A bit pricy especially if anyone in the party orders drinks but I would say worth the experience.
