I had been wanting to try this new spot and we decided to hit happy hour on my birthday to celebrate. The inside is absolutely stunning. We were sat right away, but didn't realize you had to sit at the bar to get happy hour so we waited a minute to get moved over but ended at a cute little bar table. Our waitress Chloe was absolutely the sweetest and super helpful. We started with the arancini which was filled with delicious short rib and was super tasty. I also had an Aperol spritz that hit the spot as well. For our main meal we got the meatballs and the vodka pasta both of which were awesome. I switched to the house Italian red and it was a really nice inexpensive red wine option. At the end of the meal our waitress brought me a delicious ice cream sundae on the house (she asked my husband what dessert I would like) and this did not disappoint. My mom and I grabbed dinner here a few weeks ago, and we had a lovely time. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and answered all questions beautifully. The restaurant was very busy and we did have to wait about an hour for our food but our server remained attentive throughout the process, and quickly corrected a small mistake with our food. I would say the only downside to this restaurant is that it was very busy and very loud, from the noise within the restaurant to the noise outside, it made it difficult to have conversation at the table. The tables were also very close together, so it can make moving around a little challenging. Other than those small details, I would recommend dining here if you're able to make reservations beforehand. read more

The space at Bar Italia is GORGEOUS! Seriously beautiful inside. I came on a Thursday for Happy Hour. Their HH is a great deal and the bar is quite spacious so there's lots of seating. I started with a homemade lemonade. I took one star off because my glass was filled to the brim with ice, it was $5, and no refills. I got scammed on that :( The waitress didn't disclose there weren't free refills until I asked when she asked if I wanted another one. That's sneaky. The food though was fantastic! We ordered pizza, shrimp, and their vodka pasta. The portions were all nice. I would've loved more bread with the shrimp. We asked for more but we were charged for it. The pasta was delicious, I just wish there was more. The pizza was fantastic! Great doughy crust. It was a hot day and they had all the garage doors open so the restaurant was a little uncomfortable temperature wise. I will definitely be back for HH but probably change up what I order next time a little bit. read more

The ambiance is immeasurable, the atmosphere gives Miami swanky restaurant. The service was worrisome. Our server was like a gnat and kept hovering; oddly in the most unhelpful way. I went with a friend and we requested our salad be split when ordering and upon arrival to the table they just brought out an additional plate for us to split ourselves; for fine dining I found that to be odd. The salad was sad. I've purchased better salad kits in bags at my local grocery store. The service staff needs more training. They cleared the table of our appetizer side plates while the appetizers were still on the table. We asked for water multiple times. The food, the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the spicy shrimp scampi and the fried zucchini. The shrimp scampi was the best thing we ordered and was full of flavor, it is the mere reason the food review portion of this is getting any positive feedback. The zucchini was bland and soggy. For an entree I ordered the salmon dish with a side of mafaldine pasta. The lemon butter sauce that was served under the salmon was so overwhelming. The lemon had an artificial taste and was bitter. Our server was great, but the food was disappointing, and even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty, all of the food took a really long time. Limoncello was cloyingly sweet, grilled artichokes so salty they were almost inedible, the salmon was so overcooked it was dry, and the best thing about the tiramisu was the ingredient that made it not typical of tiramisu. The lasagna on the other hand was absolutely delicious. My first visit everything (except the spumoni) was delicious, this time not so much. I'd definitely come back again for the lasagna, and to try other things, but overall this visit certainly left something to be desired. We walked in straight from the road to the bar at about 8:45pm. We were immediately greeted by three different people. We came here for after dinner drinks. It's beautiful with a lovely atmosphere and the breeze and sound of the fountain makes it really relaxing. CC ended up taking our order and making our drinks. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very open and nice. The food was delicious and served quickly. Portions were adequate for the price. Our server was very friendly and greeted us and took our orders promptly. Half way through the meal, he became busy and did not refill drinks or check on us for some time. I am vegan so I was happy to see there was a vegan option on the menu but I will add there was only one option which was the doodle dish I have a picture of on my review. It was really good but I was still hungry after eating it and it was $19.00. I understand the restaurant was very formal so it's to be expected that the meal is pricey but I feel $19.00 for a serving of zucchini noodles and red sauce is a bit ridiculous especially because the meal is not very filling. I also attached a picture of another guests meal which they really enjoyed and said the meatball, pasta and vodka sauce was incredible. If you're a vegan I would say this restaurant isn't really for us but you can still eat something if you have an event there. We were very disappointed by the food and the service. We went there for our daughter's birthday and will not be going back. The food was average at best. The service was terrible. We didn't get a server until we sat for 10 minutes and had to ask for someone for help. The server we got was perhaps too overwhelmed because he forgot about us, our food didn't arrive for close to an hour even though we ordered immediately, and at one point he asked if we wanted our check even though we had only had our salads. I politely asked for help from a staff member and 2 managers in the time I was there, and nothing improved. We went to the soft opening. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was precisely that it is not really open yet. The place is gorgeous, open airy with a mediterranean feel to it. The staff was being trained but it is obvious that this is an operation that really pays attention to detail. They are warm, friendly and enthusiastic. This is an upper scale version of another Italian large restaurant in Easton and it shows. The menu is superb and unique. We could have stoped at the appetizers which were perfect. Carpaccio was delicious and the plate was gorgeous. The seafood fritti was crisp and moist. It tasted like it just came out of the ocean. The key here is subtle not overpowering. Even the two sauces that we use a white sauce and a red sauce were very tasty. The zucchini straws were served like french fries in a cone shaped paper. I could have munched on them all night and skipped dinner. By the time we got to dinner there was little room left however we did have chicken Limoncello and a chicken parm. Nicely fried with an excellent tangy lemon sauce. I was looking forward to the home made limoncello but since it was opening night it was not ready. Opening night is a misnomer it was training night and we popped in the last minute. The actual opening night will be next week. This is going to be a very hot restaurant. The location is amazing (former Smith and Wollensky) the decor is open and airy and the food is awesome. This is a great addition to Columbus and Easton. Congratulations. read more

Last night was my third visit here. The first two visits were great. Last night not so much. Our server showed up quickly, took our drink order, brought the drinks and then took our dinner order. Then she disappeared for about 40 minutes. A couple sat down next to us. Their server had their order on the table in 15 minutes, so when she came back to check on them, we asked her if she would help us find our server, and she was very nice about it. The space, which used to be Smith & Wollensky, has been transformed beautifully lively, upscale, and welcoming. We started with a round of appetizers and honestly, each one was phenomenal: * One Big Meatball with Polenta - tender, savory, and rich with house-made marinara and parmigiano. * Grilled Roman Artichokes - charred just right, with a bright salsa verde and lemon. * Italian Sausage Stuffed Peppers - bold, flavorful, and perfectly spicy. * Heirloom Tomatoes & Fresh Burrata - fresh, creamy, and balanced with house pesto and crostini. If we had stopped after the apps and drinks, it still would have been a 10/10 experience. But then came the mains... I had the Garganelli Diavolo with Shrimp, and I can confidently say it's the best pasta dish I've had in Columbus. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the spicy diavolo sauce was bold but not overwhelming absolutely incredible. We also tried: * Branzino "Via Carota" Style - flavorful and nicely presented, but a bit buttery for my taste. If you prefer simple, delicate fish preparations, this might not be your favorite. * Crispy Chicken Limone wow! Crispy, juicy, served with mafaldine pasta and arugula salad surprisingly excellent and a close second to the Diavolo. We couldn't resist trying the Vodka & Sausage Pizza too. The flavor was good, but the crust was too soft and didn't hold up well. I'd pass on this next time. Desserts: * Spumoni Gelato - delicious and nostalgic, with a lovely nutty finish. * Tiramisu - fine, but nothing to write home about.
