Our late night adventures brought us to Bar One. We were hungry and wanted to have dinner and a drink. My friend had a Sculpin IPA ($7.00) and I had a Garden Party ($11.00), gin, aperol, lemon juice, simple syrup, fresh basil and prosecco. A light and refreshing drink that I would definitely recommend, especially if you like basil. We sat down about 10:00 P.M. and starting looking at the menu to decide on what to eat. Unfortunately, the only thing the kitchen could make was fried food. Being hungry and several cocktails in, we decided to stay. I had Fish & Chips ($11.00). The fish was fried perfectly and the tartar sauce had this herby taste that was very light and tasty. The fries were nothing to write home about. My friend had Guido Fries ($13.00), chicken or steak, mozzarella, chipotle aioli, roasted red peppers and pepperoncinis. His steak fries came out on a 1/2 sheet pan and looked to be quite messy. In fact, now that I'm looking back at the pictures, I believe they put a cheddar cheese sauce on them and not mozzarella. The steak was over cooked and it was a jumble of flavors. If you want to drink, it's definitely a place to go but if you want food, I would recommend going early enough so you order off of the full menu and not the late night "fried" menu. read more

Appreciate the down-to-earthiness of this place, but today they were playing the same football game on two different TVs with many other football games still to choose from. Staff said they can't change either TV channel. I would upgrade my review if management empowers staff to change the TV channels to be responsive to customers. Came here for a Sunday brunch before dropping our friend off at the train station. We had less than two hours to work with, but this place was quaint, and not noisy. We sat outside which was super relaxing. The service staff was really friendly and attentive. We all ordered the chicken and waffles, and we were so impressed! Amazingly delicious. Belgian waffle was fluffy and crisp, chicken was well seasoned and crispy to perfection. Needless to say, this place really kicked butt for a Sunday brunch stop. This has absolutely terrible service. They aren't that busy and act like they are completely overwhelmed. If you come in with only two people, expect the larger groups to be served and you ignored. The waitress dropped menus on our table as she walked by without even stopping and then never came back... but walked by us three times. This is a hot new place in Little Italy and we all know by now that Chef Nick Nappi runs the joint. He's a cool dude. We were able to meet him and congratulate him while we were there. You can definitely see his work ethic shine through and his humble pride for Bar One. We were there on day 2. And we didn't order any food while we were there, but for sure we'll be back to do that. Those gnocchi look amazing! We did order 2 domestic beers, $6 each which is pretty steep. The bartender mentioned they were still trying to work out happy hour since they just opened. Hopefully soon that'll happen because it would definitely be a great happy hour spot! They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice; great for people watching. Though I have to say their retro seating, is pretty uncomfortable. I nearly tipped my bar stool over at least once- and I was sober. And especially difficult for the vertically challenged people aka shorties like me! Lol Of course parking won't always be the easiest. We parked a few blocks away. The bathroom is nice, but there were no paper towels. The staff is pleasant. We were asked by probably at least 3 different people a couple times over if we needed anything. My friend and I had some food and drinks at Bar One yesterday evening and loved it! I have eaten there before, but this is my first time writing a review. This time around I was in the area running some errands in yoga pants and flip flops and my buddy was just getting off work at a neighboring restaurant. I opted for the safe standard sculpin, but for my second drink the bartender suggested the Kona IPA which I loved and it might be new go to summer beer. I am a wing person. All of the servers appeared to be very attentive and friendly. Plus, all the females that were working that shift were very good looking as well. Having read other reviews, I gotta note: Bar One isn't the latest Tiki bar selling $15 cocktails, it isn't the elegant Italian venue serving that gorgeous osso buco on handcrafted pasta, and Nick certainly isn't shucking those delicious oysters at a cold bar... those places already exist beautifully executed and mere doors away. Rather, Bar One is friendly, hospitable, warm and inviting BAR-RESTAURANT where the chef puts out a fresh quality product, no corners cut, and the staff does their best to make your experience positive and unique. Nick!!!!! I'm so upset! :( My husband and I are such huge master chef fans, so of course we had to come try Bar One. I work in little Italy so my husband came and met me today(10/21/16) and we went over to Bar One. I was so excited I already knew I wanted to try the gnocchi and bar one burger w/ bacon. We sat at the bar and it took about 5 minutes for us to order drinks, the bartender(I believe Luigi) was really nice and even made me a custom drink which was awesome! Then after the drinks came we never really were acknowledged after that...no one asked if we wanted another round(the answer was yes) and if we wanted to order anything to eat(the answer was OF COURSE, that's what we were there for) but after 20-30 minutes we had to ask for our check and went else where for dinner. read more
