Food, and drinks were fine, service was slow but there was two Monday night football games playing. Our bill came to 29 dollars, I used my credit card, and my boyfriend was tipping in cash. We left a 5 dollar bill and three 1 dollar coins totaling an 8 dollar tip. The waitress rolled her eyes about the coins, complained about getting tipped in quarters earlier, and told us she'll find a use for the coins. It's money you spend it like any other money. Bar One has a very relaxed, chilled atmosphere with great food-ideal for unwinding after work or enjoying sports on the weekend. My Fiddler beer was amazing and the buzz was even better. I had the mushrooms with garlic, cheese and pork link with onions and peppers. Both were exceptionally tasty. Service is fantastic-very friendly like you've known these folks for years. Stopped in Bar One for a little Sunday Funday action. They had almost every NFL game on which was nice considering not many places in Little Italy do so. We ordered off the brunch menu which was pretty scarce, but at least they have $14 unlimited mimosas (thank you baby Jesus). The bartender made sure our glass was always full and offered us a bunch of different mixers on the house. My buddy and I both had the breakfast sandwiches, which weren't the worst, but not the best. I wish I would have held out till the lunch menu dropped around 1 pm. The lunch menu looks awesome... The spot is dog friendly and has both indoor and patio seating. I was going to have brunch nearby but when I realized this place was opening soon on a Sunday morning, I was dead set on trying one of their burgers. I ordered the Bar One Burger and added bacon for $1 more for a grand total of $13. I asked for the burger to be cooked to a medium rare temp but they hit more of a medium temp, which in the end, was still good. The hand formed patty was about 7 oz and was filled with a good quality beef flavor and juicy. The burger was served on a toasted brioche bun, a little over toasted on the top but it was a good bun. I liked the addition of Provolone cheese which is one of my favorites, the arugula was fresh cut, and the grilled onions were not only plentiful but they were very well cooked and succulent to the touch. The heirloom tomatoes were juicy and tasty but the burger needed more of them. The basil aioli was flavorful, but not to strong to take away from the flavor of beef and that all important bacon. The bacon was absolutely terrific and was a great addition to the burger. I do recommend if you are a bacon lover. It had that nice crispiness yet a bit of a chew that made good to eat. It was not doubt flavorful and a happy camper snuggled in the burger. All in all it was a very successful burger and I would order it again. I ate at the bar and service was quite friendly and with good conversation. Bar one is a nice shake up and great addition to the community of Little Italy. read more

I ordered a Bees Knees with Vodka. It's $11. I asked if they could make it with Tito's. It's middle of the road vodka. I was upcharged $4?!!!! Are you kidding me? The waitress, Nika never mentioned this ridiculous upchatge. When I asked for Tito's, she said sure "we can do that" she never mentioned how much. I understand $1 or $2. The drink is now almost 50% more for Tito's? It's not like I ordered Grey Goose, and even then, it's not worth the upcharge. The drink was TINY. We also waited for quite awhile and walked to to the bar before finally getting someone to wait on us. $7 a beer is an OK price, not great. Not bad. The upside is that there are a lot of TVs to watch different games. Our bill including tip was $36. For a drink and 2 beers. Absurd. FINALLY! A casual place you can come sit for a drink and a snack when you're out strolling around in Little Italy! I love walking Little Italy, but always felt it was a big ordeal to stop in somewhere since almost every place is traditional restaurant style and I feel bad for the server if I know I'm not going to order a full meal. Well, those days are no more! Now there is the PERFECT hang out spot for whether you're just stopping in for a drink, a snack or a full meal (I highly recommend the latter!) The atmosphere in Bar One is super casual. Think of it like going to a friend's house. The staff is genuinely friendly and there are photos of friends and family up on the walls. Not to mention it's one of the only places in Little Italy you can sit and watch a game on one of their MANY televisions and not feel pressured to leave by the staff so they can turn over their tables! They have an amazing beer selection with tons of local favorites to choose from. They are the only bar with Peroni on draft (like a true Italian bar should!) and when you need to rehydrate, grab yourself a Miller High Life can and get a free Bar One koozie to go with it! Ok, now for the food. If you've never had Chef Nappi's food, you're seriously missing out. The amount of passion he has just seeps out of him and into the amazing food he serves up everyday. This is a man that truly loves what he does and you can TASTE it! So far, I have had the pleasure of trying the following: The Cannellini Link- It's a vegetarian sausage with basil aioli (whoever said this stuff should be bottled is absolutely right, holy shit this sauce is good!!), pickled red onion, corn and ricotta. Yes, ricotta!! It is damn good and the bread is PERFECT. Bar One Burger- Might be one of the best burgers I've ever had. Move over Hodad's... yeah, I said it. Pro tip- go for the egg on top! Lizzy's Arancini- The perfect drinking snack. It'll help to soak up all the boos so you can stay longer and drink more! Tons of flavor and the Sunday Gravy is seriously the shit. Bar One Board- This isn't your typical, skimpy little cheese board. No, way. You get 2 very generous servings of cheese, salami, prosciutto, a sausage of your choice, and honey ricotta (which was my fave). They also add on some pickled onions, mustard seed and honey comb, just in case this board wasn't delicious enough already. This board is so worth the cost, again unlike most cheese boards, and there was so much cheese and meat we had to ask for more bread! And that NEVER happens! Guido Poutine- If you order nothing else, ORDER THIS. I'm dead serious. This is not a drill. You might die from the overwhelming feeling of deliciousness in your mouth, but you'll die so happy and it'll totally be worth it. You haven't truly lived until you've had this masterpiece. I'm thinking I'm going to eat so much of it that I'll probably be as big as a house. So if you stop in and see a house sitting in the corner just stuffing Guido Poutine into it's face, just keep your distance, don't make eye contact and order your own. So glad I finally got around to trying Bar One. This place is worth a visit. The bar has plenty of local craft beer on tap (think Ballast Point, Modern Times, and Refuge) and plenty of screens to watch your favorite team. When the weather is nice the garage door rolls up to connect the bar with the patio. Bar One is great for small groups, since most of the tables are set for four people. We shared the poutine. It's perfect to share and has a good fry to short rib ratio. The meatballs are also worth trying. It only comes with three meatballs, but the meatballs are large, so even if you're sharing you'll get plenty. Prices are pretty fair for the Little Italy neighborhood. Service was a little slow, and we did have to flag down our server a couple times. Parking is available on the street, in the nearby parking structure, and at one of the valet stands on India Street. Bar One has a wide variety of rotating beers on tap, great cocktail menu, and small bites. Small bites include sausages, salads, and various other items like meatballs, wings, gnocchi, poutine, etc. Between my significant other and I, we ordered the following: - Lamb Bam Thank You Ma'am (lamb sausage, mint pistachio pesto, ricotta, and pistachio crumble). We were disappointed because many of their cocktails were not available... I can understand 1, maybe 2, but they had like 10 cocktails & 3 were not available. COVID times... outdoor seating only. Went here with my two young kids for dinner, beer and to watch a basketball game. Every staff member that we interacted with was GREAT. So kind to my kids, changed the TV to the game we wanted to watch, brought out a heater when it started getting chilly. Went for lunch today and was adequately dissatisfied with the service and food. Granted the waitress did warn us that the chef was alone and backed up. We said no worries, we ordered I asked for the teriyaki and chicken and tater tots for an appetizer, after 40+ minutes I asked the waitress for our tots and she said she' go check on them. A few minutes after that we finally get our food with no utensils. I asked the waitress for a fork and she said okay she'd get me one. Another 12-15 minutes go by I get up and go ask for one, it was clear they had forgotten about it. I go to eat my teriyaki bowl and the rice was either uncooked or old as it was hard. So game starts at 105. Flight land at 130. Fucking hotel shuttle arrives 215, and finally get to room to find out fucking tv got no mutherfucking signal. Adversity. Monkey sprint in flip flops to nearest sports bar. Enter Bar One. I did call ahead to make sure they had our game on, "is it packed? Naw! Come on down!" Scored seat in front of taps right after halftime. Great service right off that bat. Lisa is right on point with menu, water and so much more beer. Service is outstanding, never interrupting the game, yet always checking up on us. Notched another Win on this day, Monkey left happy, buzzed and enjoyed the stumble back to hotel. Just an FYI. This bar has a locals only vibe! The head bartender and servers were super rude. The food was horrible too. I do not recommend this place at all. We went up the street to The Princess Pub and grill and there were so many TVs to watch whatever game you wanted and the food was amazing. Go there instead. Don't waste your time at this bar. We sat down on the patio around 9:40 and we were asked if we were going to have dinner, which we all replied yes. After we received our food and beverages around 9:55, the bartender, who clearly lacks any experience of hospitality service, came out and told us he had to close down the patio by 10pm. We were furious. Why would the staff seat the guests outside, knowing we agreed to food and beverage service, as the patio was scheduled to close by 10pm. Clearly a mistake. But instead of waiting out 15 minutes or so, to avoid pissing off the customer and jeopardizing the tip, the manager thought, the best action is too enforce the patio law on a Saturday night at 10 pm. We live a few blocks away, and we will never return or advise anyone else. Food was good, and our server was great too.
