Not an acceptable food experience as plant-based customer. I had Sakara's Vegan burger and the whole pineapple smoothie. I am not certain what criteria was used to rate the burger "best" because it was not good at all! Additionally, the smoothie was bland. I came around 10 am. There was barely any cashew sauce on the burger and when I asked for more, they ran out. There wasn't any Ketchup or mustard either. So, I ended up with a dry burger. I tried to eat it as is but the bun fell apart and so did the patty. It wasn't seasoned well or at all so it wasn't worth the effort. The sweet potato fries were under cooked. I just gave up and accepted I wasted $18. It could have been a random isolated experience however, this was unacceptable. read more

I've been DYING to try this place for years since the last time I've gone to Oahu and finally had the time to have breakfast here. I ordered the vegan loco moco with the fried rice and I was soooo excited to try it. It's a little pricey ($18) and I was expecting an actual patty, like an impossible one but instead it was all vegetables with a tofu egg. I was disappointed and only took a few bites of it and ended up throwing it away. It wasn't my cup of tea but my boyfriend got the breakfast platter and honestly I wish I ordered that instead. Now to the location, perfect view and it's casual seating. The vibes nice and it's always nice to have breakfast with a view. But we came 30 minutes after opening and it was packed! Lovely open air, right on the beach. Really decent prices. The fresh swordfish plate was an amazing standout. I had asked if it was before ordering and the cashier said no, BUT it turns out the spicy ahi poke IS spicier than elsewhere on island that I am used to and I couldn't eat much of it. BUT the customer service was AMAZING - I took it up to the window where you pick up your food and explained and asked if I could get the Hawaiian Style poke instead and they changed it out right away with no problems! The Hawaiian Style poke is fresh and delicious and lightly marinated and super ono (delicious)! We were here another night just for dessert- was thrilled they have Dole Whip and Uncle's Ice Cream Sandwiches. We came from the beach... and we were barefoot (well we had the zoris on). So this seemed appropriate. Garlic shrimp (3): Not bad. But don't expect shrimp truck shrimp. Size was decent but wasn't as garlicky as you would expect. Not bad, just not the best. Loco moco (4): They did it simply. Can't mess this up if you have good hamburger and they did the hamburger nicely. The gravy was good and the egg was perfectly done. Solid dish. Spicy ahi bowl (4): Again, very simple here. Just ahi and rice pretty much. The ahi was fresh though and the sauce was good. Not else much to it. Overall a decent place to get some grub without having to go too far from the beach. I think if you're walking by and are hungry, this place will do the job. I wouldn't seek this place out for the food though. Our kids did like the flower garnish touch though. read more

Love this place. One of my favorite spots to bring people who are visiting. The view is unbeatable, as is the ambiance and the live music. They have quite a large menu and vegan options. Very reasonably priced. Sometimes the wait can be long. But it's definitely worth it. Perfect to take visiting friends/family, or perfect to grab a bite after spending the day at the beach. I liked the avocado toast I ordered but I've had better. The main downside to this place is all the flies and birds surrounding you while you eat. My friend also ordered the fruit bowl with no bananas with a side of white bread toast and her fruit bowl came with bananas and she got wheat bread toast...so not sure what happened there but the girl taking orders was very sweet! I was super excited to have a place walking distance and right on the beach. I saw the option to drink out of a pineapple and the menu said Dole Whip. COUNT ME IN. However I spent about 40 minutes in line with about 8 people in front of me. No where did it mention that their Dole Whip machine was down and I didn't know until I got to the window. We are local people and have been going the Barefoot Beach for years. Celebrating birthdays with friends and we always recommend Barefoot Beach. The food has always been great. But some changes have been made that we are not happy with. First, is that the umbrellas have been removed, so that when there are light showers, we are unprotected. Also, exchanging chairs and tables for picnic tables is very uncomfortable. The music is way too loud. We can't even hear someone sitting next to us unless we yell! Even then we really weren't able to communicate very well! As I said, we have been going there for years and promoting your cafe! But not anymore! It's sad because you have such a great location! When we're were there recently with family from out of town, we had to wait over 30 min! The fish and chips I ordered was under cooked. When my husband went back to get me a coffee they asked if he wants cream in the coffee and he said yes. But when I looked at the receipt when we got home I saw that we were charged $2.50 for "MILK" ! I hope you don't charge that much for a little "cream"! In the coffee!!! Absolutely loved everything we tried here. They also have the most reasonable prices on this stretch of Waikiki. The Fish & Chips was my favorite, but the Loco Moco a close second. I enjoyed their Loco Moco more than the one I had Lulu's. The portion sizes are extremely generous and the view is very nice. We also enjoyed a live musician who was accompanied by his wife who actually got up to dance hula for a bit. A very nice experience, the staff was very friendly. We had a great time here meeting up with our niece who lives nearby and having dinner. We went at the end of the night as they were closing in 45 minutes so they were out of the fish but that's to be expected for a popular place with fresh fish. There is a long line to wait in to order then you find a table and they call out your name when it's ready they you pick it up. There is live music and a very pretty outdoor seating area right on Waikiki Beach. Very beautiful views. They never gave my wife her iced tea and the workers seemed tired by the time we got to the counter. I had the surf and turf which was delicious marinated sirloin and some garlic shrimp. The food here is mouthwatering! The ladies are always smiling and happy to help you when it comes to recommendations. I love the setting! Right by the water, palm trees around and tables outside have umbrellas. My only complaint and to no fault of the facility was a child running around spraying the birds with water from a spray bottle not paying attention to others personal space while dining. 100% on the child's parents for his behavior but I do wish staff would have withheld giving him the spray bottle. read more
