Good but not great. Perfectly average slices. I'm wondering if the cheese slice was cooked yesterday. The texture alone makes it fell "old". Certainly not fresh. The set up is eclectic to say the least, but that actually makes it fit in on this stretch of Bergenline Ave; like the supermarket up the street where gardening tools hang about the deli section. ANYWAY, the cheese slice tasting old likely WAS from yesterday, as my pepperoni slice not only tastes and looks much fresher, it was from one of the display pies. No cheese pie out. I ordered a pizza (sausage, pepperoni, lightly cooked crust) at 11pm on a Tuesday from their website which stated a delivery time to my hotel of 30-35 minutes which seemed reasonable since it was only a 6 minute drive. I started calling every 15 minutes after the first 45 minutes had passed and the guy would just say he's 15 minutes away. The delivery man must have been caught in a time loop because the pizza showed up 2 1/2 hours later, cold, and the crust was WAY overcooked. Flavor-wise, I could tell if it had been cooked properly and delivered when they said it should have been delivered, I think it would have been good but I will never know. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Ordered the lasagna, chicken parm and garlic knots. The lasagna was ok - passable if you're really hungry but otherwise a tad in the salty side. Good size for the price. The chicken parm, however, was not so good. Tasted old, like it was made a few days ago, and just reheated. I hope I don't get food poisoning. The bread was DEFINITELY old, stale and where it wasn't completely soggy from the sauce, completely not eatable. The garlic knots were the same story. Completely hard. Thankfully they were only a dollar but still. It's a dollar wasted. In sum, will never order from here again unless it was the only place open. I'm very particular about my pizza and where I get it. I was hesitant to try a new place given I was set on my pizza establishments of preference. I went on a limb and called and been a fan since! ( a couple months now). The pizza is AMAZING! The sauce they use is one of the best I've tried. Very friendly, the owner has a strong voice but don't let that fool you, he s an awesome guy! The third time I called the owner answered ( he usually does) and he remembered my order and most of my phone number ( they don't have caller id, so make sure u double check on the phone number you give them). I had one issue with an order once, and the owner immediately came up with something to compensate. I would definitely recommend Bari Pizzeria and I have to the people I know. Standard pizzeria. $2 slices and they are usually pretty good. They have their good days and bad days when it comes to the pizza. Owners are super friendly and they will even make sandwiches. So I was driving with the GF and she said to me that she wanted something to eat so we of course Yelped it. There were 2 places near us. Bergenline Pizzeria and here. We saw the reviews of Bergenlines and said that was a negative and drove up 2 streets. Their pizza reminded me of my childhood for some reason. Like the place felt old school, not dingy or anything in a negative way. Just felt right. Ordered 3 slices and got them to go. The sauce and wasnt too flavorful but you can taste it. Cheese wasn't runny and greasy thankfully because if you've ever been to Krispys in Jersey City, it's terrible. Slice was thin. Idk about others, but I like when the pizza dough isn't crunchy and appears flimsy but isn't breaking apart. It's just perfect to me that way. The pizza tastes great. I'd give it a 7/10 without a doubt. Only downside that I saw, no display pies of their toppings so I couldn't see what kind of pepperoni or sausage etc they use. I've been going to this pizzeria since I was a kid and I have not yet found a pizza better than this. It's for sure ill be going to this place till the day I pass! The owner has been the same for as long as I can remember and they are ALL about Italian pizza. Not an owner from a different country with cooks and a good recipe. ZERO STARS!! FOOD POISONING on Sunday, June 3rd! DO NOT EAT AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!! Was a huge fan of Bari's until approx 3 months ago (end of March 2018). Don't know what has happened but it's been a nightmare ordering and food poisoning was last straw! Staff answering phone barely speak or understand English (never like that before). Several items ON THEIR MENU (neopolitan pizza, grandma pizza) were prepared incorrect and had to be sent back & replaced. Spoke to "owner" and he replied "I don't know how to make that; we don't have that here" ....WHEN ITS RIGHT ON HIS MENU. Delivery order took almost THREE HOURS to finally get after incorrect prep & replacement ... WITH THE PLACE ONLY THREE BLOCKS AWAY!! I'm new to the area and so far this is the best Pizza I've ordered. I've only tried one other place which wasn't very good. Here, the cheese was excellent. The sauce however was extremely bland and tasteless. It caused the dough and crust to be a bit overwhelming. Normally, with a more flavorful sauce the dough and crust would've been very good. However, with the sauce so bland it just tasted like eating melted cheese on bread with barely any additional flavor. Still, they're the best of the two places I've tried so far. This has been the worst experience of delivery food, or just plan service and food, I have ever had to deal with. So ordered a pizza with no meat on it, and in the instructions wrote no meat, well surprise by the picture there is meat on it which I can't eat, bonus points for the pizza also being cold. The wings are so disgusting to even look at that I could hardly take a bite, which I'm not sure the bite I took was chicken. The "cheese garlic bread", that's some rough words I guess you can say that is, was so hard on the outside that you could hardly break it apart and cold on the inside. So the foods terrible and made wrong. The delivery took an hour and a half and I got told the driver called and never did and when I called the business the first time they wouldn't let me speak and just told me he was on his way be any min well 30 mins late he showed up. So I called the business to complain and get my money back after trying to eat my food and they cut me off every time I tried to speak and caused it to turn into a yelling match. They ended up hanging up on me and blocking my number. Called Grub Hub who then called them and then the company started yelling at grub hub and refuse to give me my money back. I just felt compelled to write a review because I actually do not even live near this area anymore, but I still return to bari pizzeria whenever I'm in the union city/north bergen area. I first went there when I was in high school and ever since then I have never found a better lasagna from any other pizza place in the northern nj area. I honestly believe that for a pizzeria, their food is really outstanding quality.
