I came here on Wednesday night for trivia night. They have a parking structure right across the street which is a $3 flat rate from 6pm-midnight which I think is a really good deal. I got the breakfast burrito which was okay. I tried the fries and I really liked them; they were super crispy and the dipping sauce was good. They have a lot of beers on tap and also a full bar area. I got the Racer 5 which I liked. It's They have Bud Light and a whiskey shot for $6, pretty good deal! It's a moonshine clear type of whiskey though so don't be fooled. I enjoyed trivia night it was fun to play even though it was a little hard to hear through the speakers and the questions. They have gift cards to their restaurant for the top three teams. Apparently after a couple of weeks they tend to repeat the questions so that could help you win if you go enough. There are a lot of UCLA students here since it's super close to campus. They also have a bunch of TVs so I'm sure this is a good place to also watch big sporting events. The waitresses were super friendly and accommodating the entire time, really big thumbs up to them. They were friendly and making jokes with us as they were serving us and walking by. 3 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service. read more

Your basic HUGE sports bar with a TON of TVs (I lost count at 50) and decent food and booze. Large menu but we stuck to the basics -- pizza, sliders, wings, fries and all were consumed quickly. Two floors of sports going on with lots of little sections. We watched the Dodgers in the recent 2018 World Series and the only problem is you don't get that community feel as everyone is watching their own TV it seems. I like sports bars where you feel you are part of the action - otherwise I can watch at home on my big screen. There's a parking lot across the street and if you come after 5:01pm it's a $5.00 flat fee which isn't bad for Westwood. This is the closest thing to a bar (aside from Sepi's, which I have not been to) Westwood has ever since Ohara's closed down. Service: 4/5 - The waitresses are nice and check up on us once in awhile. No complaints. Food: 1/5 - I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it came with a side, in which I ordered a salad. I would've taken a picture, but I was starving! So when my food came out, I was eager to eat! My excitement was short-lived as I held up my sandwich and everything started falling out. It is so oily and soggy that all the meat and bell peppers would fall out as I am eating it. I would constantly be picking up the meat and veggies to eat them. There was hardly any flavor in the meat. It was terrible and I was sad. Drinks: I don't really have a rating for this, because I just get beers here. I've never gotten a cocktail here, but if I ever do, I'll chu know! They have happy hours, so check what drinks are cheaper! Overall: I'd probably just come here for drinks with friends. The ultimate college sports bar. Very loud, countless flat screen television (tvs at every table) and seating (couches, booths, bar and table), awesome tacky Christmas lights, 200+ beer selection, pretty good bar food and lots of undergrads. I like it. As for the food, they have a huge menu. It took me forever to decide what I want. Everything we had was delicious. BUFFALO WINGS were straight forward and tasty. MEXI BURGER was very flavorful and burger patty was juicy. SLIDERS were awesome. AVOCADO MELT on rye bread was a good vegetarian option. Lots of avocado. MOLTEN CHOCOLATE with vanilla ice cream was chocolatey heaven. The service was excellent and couldn't have asked for a better server. She was super nice and on top of things. She had a great personality laughed at one of my friend's stupid jokes lol. Also, a staff who seemed to be the manager also checked on us making sure if everything was okay. Happened to be in the area after buying nearly half the target store down the street; and the boyfriend and I were looking for a place to get a bite. I like healthy food and as soon as I saw the set up I should have known that a sport bar with a tacky decor will have nothing even remotely healthy and that I will be kneeling over the toilet puking my guts out after I leave. Stupid hungry me, figured I'll find SOMETHING on the menu that will agree with me. Well I ordered their poor attempt at a salad. How do you f up a salad, I mean seriously???? It's f'en leaves and dressing. The arugula was all wilted and you KNOW food is bad where you are spitting out every other bite. The sandwich was even worse. They grilled the bread and it was soggy and greasy and even though I barely had any of it, I felt heavy and gross after it. And lo and behold an hour later and I want to puke my guts out and I don't think I will have anything else to eat today. I don't think it's food poisoning, I just think it's a case of nasty greasy food and my stomach hating me for putting this crap in my system. Gross gross gross! Never again! Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Well lesson learned here, will be fooled no more with their menu that looks tempting and instead you get a plate full of grease and wilted leaves. Quirky sports bar in the heart of Westwood Village. It's one of several Barney's Beaneries in Los Angeles. The original location has a long history in the city. This outpost honors everything great about the franchise while providing fun vibes in what is a college town neighborhood for all intents and purposes. There are TVs at every booth and pretty much at any vantage point indoors so sports fans rejoice. The food itself is standard bar fare. Their chili is really, really good and tastes delicious on top of their nachos. Their juicy lucy is a pretty good version of the twin cities burger, but make sure you get it cooked at least medium otherwise the cheese inside may not melt completely. The cheese, sauce, and condiments keep the burger moist no matter the temp. Fun place with good food and reasonable prices! read more

"If I could rate 0 stars..." First off, hire some servers who actually care about their jobs. If anything is consistent at Barneys it's the bad service. People are there to watch games, get the right game on the right channel and then we can talk about the dumb ass menu. If you're staff is hungover they should be sent home. Misery is contagious and easily transferable, why have a server work when she is clearly uninterested in being of service. The food is bar food. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the sports bar I wish we had in SF, where we N Californians only half-heartedly try and pretty much fall short of greatness for one reason or other. Barney's has a ton of giant-screen TVs everywhere so you're always up close; truly not a bad seat or table in the house, as every one feels like a front row seat. Multi-level, so even though it's a big place, you still feel like it's cozy b/c the space is broken up into many smaller room sections. Plenty of comfy seating, lively crowd (pretty cool crowd in Westwood during MNF anyway), friendly & fast servers. The menu has a ton of choices, from super healthy to heart-attack worthy, so your destiny is truly your own. Only things that keep it from easily being 5-star is (1) street parking can be a real B in WW; and (2) if you're wine snob (or at least not a beer or cocktail drinker), you're in trouble. I've been here several times since my last review, including last night. Whenever I'm here, the service never seems to fail to be disappointing. I love the atmosphere, evergy, drink selection, and the fact that it's one of only 3 bars in Westwood.... and I'm sad that it almost always lets me down. My brother, his girlfriend and I came in around 11 last night for a few beers. We sat at an upstairs table right across from the bar, which was surrounded by people. The rest of the upstairs area was pretty empty. We waited a good 20 minutes (no lie), talking, when we realized that no one had even acknowledged us. We weren't sure if we were supposed to go to the bar and order, but we had seen waitstaff downstairs. Finally, the bartender yelled over to us, "How long have you guys been waiting? About 15 minutes?" "Not, really, only 10," said my very, very nice brother. He had us yell our drink orders across to the bar, and then AFTER taking and filling orders for the whole bar, he had to go downstairs to get them, and brought them to us. While describing my brother's sampler (in which he forgot what a few of them were), he dropped my beer bottle on the ground. We kind of expected him to get another one, but no, he waited a few minutes and gave me my frothy, overflowing beer. After that, no one ever talked to us, asked us if we wanted more drinks, checked to see whether we'd paid, anything. We probably could have walked out. Most good places will knock off one of the drinks or make SOME mort of gesture for making us wait that long, but no.... same prices. I left the standard dollar-a-drink tip but then felt like that was too much. Maybe they don't think college students tip well, so why bother? I don't know. For some reason, I've never eaten lunch here. Can't really explain why, but after a productive meeting, it was time to blow off some steam. Barney's has an absurd amount of televisions showing sports and WAIT!!!! THE RYDER CUP IS ON! Umm... can the kitchen make my food super extra slow? The Ryder cup is on! I got the ruben sandwich and it was pretty good. I really wanted french fries, but it's great that they offer healthy sides, too, so I got a small salad with honey mustard dressing. Just your typical, average college bar here in Westwood (that caters to the UCLA Bruin population) haha. Pretty spacious with lots of room to move around and great vibes all around. I really enjoyed my time coming here, especially during my college years. It does get crowded at times, so do expect to see a lot of college students here. Or people coming off from work and looking for a place to chill with great company :) The selection of beer is alright but there are some great daily house special deals so do take advantage of that! The experience is UNREAL and you will not miss a second of your event if you watch it here. Not noisy. My friends and I conversed during the whole fight. Barney's Beanery on Broxton does NOT NEED 5 stars to attract the many people they do on the daily basis! Providing many TV screens with sports at every corner of the building, Barney's attract many sports fan and bar-goers. My friend and I are one of the many regulars here and we enjoy both the food and drinks. The lively atmosphere and friendly workers combined with unique seating options make this place an excellent location for hanging out. On football Sundays (especially this season leading up to the Superbowl), the wait can be as long as 3 hours if you didn't plan ahead to snatch a seat. Everyone can be seen cheering for their favorites loudly, especially when a UCLA team is playing. I generally enjoy watching the SF 49ers, SF Giants, and occasionally the Golden State Warriors and SJ Sharks dominate in their respective sports here (I'm from SJ/SF). GO NINERS! WIN THE SUPERBOWL! Food ranges from excellent to decent. The Asian chicken wings are perfectly glazed in a flavorful sauce, but still is crispy. Order more than 6 of these! The potato skins are also delicious, crispy, and the toppings (chili, cheese) makes you want more of it. I also like the crispy battered mushrooms and you can't get these at many other places. For drinks, the Angry Orchard Apple draft is DELICIOUS! The Long Island Ice Teas are also tasty (and full of EtOH), so beware! Service is excellent and the workers try to establish good relationships with you. There is a secret mini-stadium like area in the back upstairs if you really wanna see the game up close. To milk 4 extra dollars out of me... As if that isn't enough she leaves, next bartender, Angie takes over. After switching to Amstel I asked her if they have any food specials. She gives me a menu and says anything in yellow is half price now. When she gives me my bill I see I was charged full price for the mozzy sticks I ordered (which by the way came out with no ranch like I asked). She does a little investigating and tells me she was wrong, the food specials start at 4pm not 3pm... And leaves it at that. TRANSLATION: I fucked up and told you the food was half price when it wasn't... but please still pay full price. Thank you come again. NO THANKS man. I'll stick to the other Barneys locations. Stay away from this one. The one thing it has goig for them is the hottest wait/bar staff I've ever seen at a Barneys. Most Barney's Beanery are fine establishments, but this one is not. My friend and I went to the establishment to watch the preseason game lakers verses warriors. I ordered the hot wings. It came to me over cooked and the fries tasted like soap. I sent it back and got the fish and chips. The fish was rotten. I sent it back. As this was happening the game kept loosing signal. But that was not the worst part. Half way in the game the waiter told us we had to close out. My friend was upset with experience so he did not tip. The waiter picked up the bill looked at it and SLAMMED IT on the table. He said, "YOU DONT FUCKING TIP, YOU COME HERE AND DONT TIP." I was surprised that he cursed at us. I'm a big fan of Barneys Beanery. Why? Well Duhhhh, because its a fun place to watch the game and eat great food! Barneys is the kinda place that just makes you feel better when you walk in. The entire restaurant is covered in hubcaps, license plates, and random crazy memorabilia. There are motorcycles in the walls and tabloids all over the tables. The best part about Barneys (other than the food of course) if the gigantic wall of television screens. This really is the place to come and watch the game. There are atleast 2-3 TV's in every direction you look, including the mac daddy wall which houses a gargantuan billboard sized screen surrounded by eight 60" (or bigger) LCD screens. Aside from their unheard of amount of televisions, they have an unheard of giant menu. Everything you could ever want plus more! The Potato Skins are an absolute must every time i come here, and as of last night, The Dagwood Burger might be a Barneys staple of mine too. I came on a Saturday afternoon at around 4 PM looking for some drinks. We were surprised to see that there was a special going on, with $5 Bloody Mary and Rose. I've always wanted to try a Bloody Mary, so I thought now was a good time to do it. Unfortunately, it was not my cup of tea, as the tomato juice and other flavorings made it taste more like a liquid meal than a refreshing drink. But hey, it was only $5! To each their own! We then ordered a mojito and a $5 glass of rose. You can never go wrong with a minty, lime, refreshing mojito! It was nicely made and oh so yummy. We also got a large, regular fries to share and that instantly made this dining experience much better! The fries here are so, so good! Seasoned well and very ~crispy~. Definitely order the regular fries with a side of ranch! Our server recommended that we should as well! I have nothing to complain about, and our service was fantastic. Our experience was a nightmare. We sit to one and only available table other than the bar and table was so dirty. We kindly asked them to clean it up. We waited more than 15 mins for cleaning. When the server started to clean he acted so rude and he started to collect all the glasses and he threw one of the cups and it was broken through one of our friend and all the beverages spilled over her. The server did not say anything. When we asked what is happening he just answered that we should have not sit to a dirty table. His attitude was insane. We just said it would be nice to only say "sorry" and he said the same thing about not sitting to that table one more time. It was a total disappointment. I've been here twice now, both times because I was going to a movie and wanted to get liquored up before hand. They have around two dozen beers on tap, so if you're a beer guy like me, there's a fair selection beyond the run-of-the-mill variety. They have Allagash White which not too many places have (everyone has Blue Moon now) so this is my go-to here. I don't believe I myself ordered food on my first visit, but I hadn't eaten dinner upon my most recent trip, so I read some Yelp reviews before making my selection. Most reviews badmouthed the food except for the wings - kind of like Hooters - so I decided to try them. I got a dozen of the sweet and spicy. They gave more drums than wings - I actually like wings more than drums, but whatever. I thought they were pretty solid. Not as good as a place that specialized in wings, but not bad. I'd say they were a little more on the sweet side than spicy, but they had some kick. I like my spiciness to be more of the medium variety, so I feel these could have been kicked up a slight notch. Nevertheless, they weren't too crispy or overly fatty, so I'd give 'em a go on gameday. (As long as you have a beer to wash them down of course) Both times I went, I just ordered from the bar and sat at a stool near the bar. Waitresses don't come around and ask you what you want, but the bartender is always on it. There's usually only one bartender on Friday/Saturday night, which is fine because the place isn't usually super crowded. It brings in an older college-age bunch as well as some locals. I haven't experienced any obnoxious, rowdy bunches, usually just calm chit chat, so this place gets my seal of approval. It occurred to me that there was a change in nightlife from the previous "Nature's Way" restaurant. Move out the veg-heads and move-in another bar for students to get drunk, is exactly what Westwood needed. It was less divey that O'Hare's, less upscale looking than Palomino's, more kitchy than BrewCo, and well more beers on their menu and screens on their walls than you could count on your fingers. My friends and I stopped in for one last hurrah during commencement weekend after the parents had bid goodnight. We scored a large table for our 12+ group. Great variety of beers all around and few servers tended to our table. It was a great because "there was something for everybody." With variety (and a namesake like Barney's Beanery" comes higher prices and a cookie-cut-out feeling of a restaurant/bar. But again - hey! it gets the job done. The coolest thing on their menu though for late night munchies is their tableside s'mores plate. For less than 6 bucks, you can eat s'mores and pretend that you're amongst (college) wildlife and sip your imported beer. It's fun! Coming back for more? Not in this post-grad life! But if you're hitting the books, it's a fun place to go to steer away from brain cells that you'd probably lose anyway. Cheers! read more

Well, there you have it--a visual for Barney's Beanery food. Initially, I was so impressed with the menu which offered an eclectic variety (Italian, American, Mexican, Breakfast, Asian, etc.). I should have known nothing could be remotely good with the selection so varied. I'm positive they must be opening cans of food and tv dinners back in the kitchen. The 2 stars are for the convenience of space to sit with a friend and drink some beers while watching some sports tv. TIP: Try the location in Santa Monica -so awesome for happy hour and some beers. A total sports bar, so, of course, it's great for large groups. They've got a great beer selection on draft. We brought a cake in for my girlfriends birthday. They stored it for us and brought it out with plates and napkins, but no forks. The biggest downside to everything was leaving our tab open downstairs with 4 bartenders on a Thursday evening who acted like they weren't working for tips. Definitely the hot place to be when they've got the NBA Warriors/Cavs plastered all over their tv's, which are nicely placed so everyone in the house can see. The dark wooden ambiance made me feel like I was in a pirate ship with haphazard Christmas lights everywhere, but it was definitely quite a spectacle knowing everyone in the room was solely there for the game. People obviously have mixed feelings about Barney's Beanery, and I'm glad I came on an "on" night because it's really a full experience when you've got an enthusiastic crowd and great customer service. This review is for Mikey, our bartender, since we sat at the counter in front of the TV. Can't tell you how genuinely cool he was, and I appreciated how often he'd ask us how we're doing or if we needed anything. We ordered Racer and Stone IPA's, which came out to $5 each, and were poured thoughtfully with reasonable amount of foam. Thank you for being so kind and attentive. Can't say I'd come here for food, but BB has definitely made a good impression since it's reminiscent of my undergrad days at UC Irvine's pub. Hits close to home with so many students! read more

Update (3/21/15): After a second visit, i'm done with this place. Some of their staff are lovely, but a good amount ruin the experience. I was their with my friend near closing, and this frickin douche canoe bartender is giving special preferential treatment to his clientele, and completely ignoring us. How do i know? I order a blue moon and my friend does the same. Then his buddies walk in, and he, after affectionately shaking their hand and patting them, informs them that shock-tops are half off. So, I was essentially charged double since I was not apart of this bar frat. Then after I told him my displeasure he does not care. When I'm having a private conversation with my friend, he butts in rudely giving his two-cents. I would have given this place one star originally since our initial waiter either had a bad day, or with her present attitude needs to find another line of work! The second waiter was one of the most friendliest waiters and comped our drinks, but what the first waiter did aggregated me. I went to this establishment with three other friend on at Patrick's day. Our first waiter past us with drinks, and I kindly asked her what these assortments were (there were a lot of specials that day). Unprovoked, she replied curtly with "it"s not yours!" Well I know this, and I took great offense to this. It was made right though by the second waiter. The drinks were completely comped, and for that, I admire the customer services attempt to make right. The food though was a complete disaster! We ordered the Irish nachos, but they ran out of potatoes, so instead they gave us French fries! They did forewarn us, but good gosh, the fries were cold, the salsa and avocado dip did not bode well, and it was just a big pile of greasy slop! The burger lacked any bold flavors, and had very little on it for its ten dollar price! I would come again here for maybe happy hour, but I certainly would never order the food again! Buckle up guys, this is going to be a crazy ride. I have never before had this experience at a restaurant, and it was literally a series of unfortunate events. I really wanted to like this place. But I have to give you all the truth. Avoid this place. Seriously. We got to the restaurant a little bit after 7pm. We placed our drink orders and then....nothing. We waited and waited and eventually after about an hour, had to chase down a waiter ourselves to order food. And waited, and waited...and eventually had to chase down a server and follow up on our food's status. We didn't really have a complicated order: pickle chip appetizer, chimichanga, turkey burger, California burger, big hot dog thing. And we were brought: an order of fries. The manager came over and told us it would be comped, which was appreciated. But then it took chasing down the wait staff again after almost another hour before the food came out! When the food finally started to appear, the plates trickled out of the kitchen so slowly, we had 3 different employees come and see what we were still waiting on, and one of them knocked over a glass of beer. ALL OVER MY LAP. Then left us with a towel over the puddle by my feet, and gave me a stack of napkins. My lap was drenched, my sock and shoe were soaked, and all she did was make herself scarce. Not professional and not cool. The puddle sat there for over 30 minutes under my bar stool. If I tried to leave my seat I would have had to jump down into it. After 30 minutes, a different waitress came by and used her foot to sweep the rag and used napkins under a table behind us. WHAT. I've worked in restaurants, and gone to many bars/nightclubs and have NEVER seen such uncaring, lackadaisical servers/staff. Finally the food came and it was...ok. My burger was very peppery and my boyfriends mexican rice was dry and crunchy. BE WARNED: Every modification to the food was ignored or an extra charge on the final bill. Which was ANOTHER ordeal. We just wanted to pay, but our waitress couldn't figure out how to split our bill for us to pay, and ended up walking away before all parties paid, so we went had to track down and pay with a different server. Overall we were there for more than 3 hours, and the only competent person who works there was the manager who looked like Chris Martin from Coldplay. But even he couldn't be everywhere and fix all the terrible service, slow kitchen, and uncaring and absent servers. read more

The food was good not exuberant. We were a party of 5 and per person it came out out to be $20 approx. we ordered an appetizer a mixed platter and the items were pretty average and some were deep fried little too much. I ordered a 10" pizza and chicken was sparingly used on the dish. Checking out with my other colleagues they felt the food was ok. The service was rushed it is different when you are promptly served from being rushed. As we were having our main course our check was served without even being asked if we need dessert. Too bad :) Overall if you are there and want a quick bite u can step in hit I won't drive out there to just try this pace. This one was great but they rush the shit out of you to finish your drinks at like 1a. The one on SM Blvd is way better and a lot more people (older crowd obviously). UCLA is great but this beanery is wack as hell even Will Forte was with me and his old ass wasn't about it. Overpriced and overrated. Barney's is nice simply because it's conveniently located in Westwood Village right by UCLA. Alcohol is alcohol. Got my $5 Stella. Buuuut we ordered food which was extremely..... displeasing. I got some wings and their Mac n cheese... ugh. First off, I initially had buffalo and lemon pepper wings. Buffalo wings weren't anything special... decent enough so I ate them. However, there lemon pepper wings were absolutely disgusting. They were extremely dark, and they don't look like lemon pepper from BWW or Wingstop. The smell was absolutely repulsive... the "lemon pepper" smelled like some sort of air freshener. I simply licked a wing and the taste was sketched on my tongue..... it was honestly horrible. My server was nice enough to replace those wings with more buffalo wings, free of charge, hence the star. The macaroni was also pretty bad... barely ate any of it... it was over cooked and there was so much oil. The flavor was bland and it tasted like it was frozen and microwaved or something. My friend's pizza was okay and he liked it, hence the second star. Definitely still think it's overpriced, and they have an unnecessarily large menu. They should probably focus on making fewer items of better quality....... just my recommendation. I would only come here for the alcohol, never would recommend coming here to grab a bite. First, I would leave 0 stars if possible. Additionally, I've never left a yelp review before - so you can imagine how infuriated I was with my experience at Barney's to do this. After a UCLA basketball game, we decided to stop by for a quick drink. We ordered one drink and walked around the place. We decided we liked the place and ordered a pitcher of beer. Just as we were taking the pitcher to a table, a security approached my friend and told him we were seen at a table with "illegal substances" and asked us to leave. We had not, in fact, had any illegal substances on us. We did not sit down at any table. We went outside and tried to speak with the guard. He had the manager come out, who was EXTREMELY rude. We were incredibly incredibly confused, since we would have probably been the last group to ever have any types of illegal drugs on us. We asked them for an explanation and they refused and the worst part - we asked for a refund for the pitcher we had just ordered, paid for and hadn't had a sip out of and the manager said "absolutely not"! We were shocked by the entire experience to say the least. Barney's accuses their customers of literal BS and has terrible service. We were open to hearing an explanation and being patient, but that's just not something they know how to do. read more
