    Short Stack Of Hotcakes (3)

I guess Headlines has a ghost kitchen called "Joe's Pancake Shop," I ordered some chocolate chip pancakes from there and it has the same address as Headlines. These were honestly some of the worst pancakes I've ever had they're way too doughy and are very bland, I had to douse them in syrup and lather them with butter and I couldn't even finish them. Absolutely do not recommend.

The inside is a lot more modern than the previous location.

Been stopping by here since the late 1990s with my older sister when she went to UCLA, and throughout 2000-2005 when I was a student at UCLA. It's moved locations since then, but continues to be a staple of Westwood and for students, especially. They still offer a discount for UCLA students, which is nice too. My favorite menu item is their hotdog combo, and you get a choice between regular fries and curly fries (get those!). I also like how they have Cherry Coke in the soda fountains. It is a no frills diner, and the prices are affordable. The food has always been served fresh and hot. The staff is kind and explains the menu for anyone who has questions. Definitely recommend this place if you're in Westwood and want a quick meal. I'll be sure to visit again when I'm nearby. Hope it lasts for decades to come!

The service was good; the waiters were attentive and provided good explanations. My wife ordered the tacos dorados and was amazed that I even left a clean plate. She loved them. The chilaquiles with egg were very good, served with avocado (I ordered an extra portion of chicken to complete my protein). The atmosphere was calm; it's a student place, although today there were subway construction workers there, so it was very calm.

It was 1pm on a Sunday. My friends and I were hungry and we were in the Westwood area. After googling some options...I picked "Headliner Diner And Grill". We loved the open atmosphere of the diner, its indoor or outdoor options. Ordering food was easy with a giant digital screen, a board on the wall AND just looking through a menu. The breakfast, lunch & dinner food portions a great and the customer service is fantastic!

A traditional quick order breakfast and lunch spot targeting the UCLA students and the surrounding housing. You order @ the counter and they bring it over to your table. They have a lot of solid choices, both American and Mexican breakfast options, but they don't have the more complex options like my favorite breakfast dish: Eggs Benedict. Pricing was pretty fair, but they don't have wait service. Metered street parking was easy to find, we parked right out front. Overall the flavors were pretty good. Not great but far from bad. I chose the Bruin Special which was a lot of food, and although cooked well it was not special in any way, so in the end it's great if you're in the area, but I would not go out of my way for it.

You can't go wrong with anything here. For breakfast, lunch or dinner everything is good. The chilaquiles are delicious and we love the smash burgers/dipper fries

I really wanted a hot dog and I got a great one. After a few hours at the Hammer Museum, my friend and I were a bit hungry so we stopped in this place nearby. Wow. A perfectly split grilled dog on a lightly toasted bun, plenty of kraut and yellow mustard. Accompanied by a full plate of fries, cooked well (but not greasy) and a large soda. $4 change from a $20. I recommend this place for the food and the shady outdoor tables. The smiling countermen and the waiter service were pretty exemplary too. I'll be back.

What a great place!!!! We stopped for breakfast and what a selection. Not only for breakfast but all their food. Reasonably priced and friendly service. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette at it was PERFECT!!!! Can't wait to go back and try other items. We're regulars at UCLA sporting events so we now found a "go to" place in Westwood to eat at. Thank you very much Headlines Diner & Grill, I can't wait to come back!!!!

service is good, ambiance is nice, food is great, you can tell they put effort into costumer experience, prices aren't bad either

I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. We absolutely loved this restaurant and are already planning our next visit!

My main complaint is not getting what we ordered combined with an indifferent server who made subpar effort. My friend's "protein style" burger came on a bun, my Turkey Melt was missing avocado and our sides were on the wrong plates. The server just went back to the kitchen to fix our orders. You don't have to apologize if the cooking staff made the errors but at least pretend you care for a better tip. My sandwich was fine, nothing memorable but the onion rings were amazing! Very crunchy, thick but light batter. The server told me fries or rings came with the sandwich but I got charged an extra buck for the onion rings. For about $20 total, good thing it was a big serving. My friends ate their burger and nacho plate. The nachos plate is huge, can easily satisfy a hungry appetite as an entree. My friend's Bloody Mary was ok, too watery. They have a good variety of cocktails and drinks. We also were one of few customers there during midafternoon and waited a while for our food. We also had to ask our server for the bill. The interior is nostalgic- a lot of collages of 80s/90s music and pop culture. License plates on the ceilings and you can't miss the LP wall heading down to the bathrooms. The bathrooms are clean and there's an upper level which overlooks the ground floor but it was closed during the day. The booths are comfortable and their own television showing a sports game. A tv near us also played MTV videos, remember them? With the parking structure at the end of the block now charging for all times, I'll leave Barney's to the UCLA students and residents who can walk here.

I'm excited to report that it lives up to the hype and is very worth the splurge! Valet parking is $25 for the first four hours, just so you know. (And all the guys that park the cars are hot and built like brick houses!) Worthy investment. Granted, the Dine LA menu is priced at $95 per person (before taxes, tip and the 4% health charge), however the fascinating flavors and the advanced cooking techniques used to produce them justify the charge. While we ordered the Dine LA menu, we had to ask permission from the chef to order from the à la carte menu (to satisfy our curiosity). We were thankfully accommodated. The tuna violet bouquet was as delicious as it was beautiful. I thought it was going to taste like your typical tuna tartare, but it didn't. It was elevated in a way I can't even explain. The portion is tiny - just enough for one person but it's one of those dishes you won't ever forget. The same went for the black truffle agnolotti. So unique. It had all sorts of textures and flavors dancing on the tongue - crunchiness, then softness (the pasta) and then umami from the mushroom broth. The broth is clarified with parmesan! How does one even do that? I couldn't get enough of it. I slurped every bit and didn't care. Chef Crenn's expertise is flexed all throughout the meal. They apparently braise the beef for over 50 hours and while they explained more of it I couldn't pay attention because the mushroom maitake purée distracted me. It was just out of this world. A little salty but I loved it. Hubby ordered the potato agnolotti which had a delicious creamy sauce - well-balanced. Ugh so good. The chocolate cannage was filled with a thick mousse and a tart cherry compote that cut through all that richness. I ate this very slowly because I didn't want the meal to end. The other dessert option was just ok in my opinion - a small strawberry sorbet. This entire meal was a sensory delight from start to finish. Every single thing was gorgeous and delicious and aromatic. It wasn't just the food that was so pleasing to behold, but also the chairs, the silverware, dishware and every single thing you could see. Christian Dior earned my respect all over again. The whole dining concept was thoughtfully curated and masterfully executed. It's one of my new favorite restaurants for sure! The burgers were very flavorful and very messy to eat (not complaining)! The patties were nicely-smashed, yet still had a juiciness to them. Loved that they contained onions and pickles for some additional acidity. Sweet potato fries were excellent as well, crispy and well-seasoned with salt. For the Win is a solid smash burger place, but I do wish that the buns were toasted, as they were really soft and started losing integrity the more you eat.
