Bad customer service. I ordered 3 pizzas and some wings through their online delivery system. One of the pizzas ordered was a pepperoni pizza and we ended up getting a cheese. When I called in to let them know about the error, he offered to give me the $2.00 difference on my next order, or I could take in the wrong pizza back and exchange it for the pepperoni. I had requested delivery because we had company over and I had already started having some drinks. So, not only did they mess up the order, but now I have to go out of my way to correct it and take back the wrong one. This guy is a clown. Never going back. This isn't the first time I've had issues with this place. I don't know why I tried to order from them again, but I give up. This place is awful. read more

Overdue review. Best pizza spot in my area! I love the pizza it's so good and cheesy. I would always get the pinapple & olives and they pack it YUM, with their wings and ranch dip. It's so delicious. I am super bummed I can't eat cheese anymore, unrelated to this but I started getting an allergy to it . We took meat lovers pizza to my brother before covid and he loved it, he lives in Whittier (West Whittier - Los Nietos area) the other day he calls and asks what its called cuz he wanted to order some lol I have a hard time getting him to visit me but he drove my way to get the pizza hahaha anyway I super recommend it, the owner is always so happy and i love his enthusiasm, one of the reasons we will still continue to support this business. I have been coming here since I was a kid in the 80's. I have never had a bad pizza from here, easily the best pizza in a 100 mile radius. The dough is always soft on the inside and just crunchy enough on the outside, the sauce is authentic and savory, their toppings are always perfectly cooked and spread out just the right way. This place should be in the pizza hall of fame. I've been to New York and know how famous they are for their pies. I'd put any place in NYC up against Barro's in a taste off and put my money on Barro's. Cool side note: Most likely you will order from and/or pay the owner when you take out. He is a great guy--always friendly even when their two phones are ringing off the hook and there's a line out the door (and I have been there when this is the case more than once). The owner is a class act and he personally will check every pizza that he puts in front of you and with his "yum, yum" stamp of approval. If you've been there you know what I'm taking about. There is a reason this place has been in business since I was a kid so many years ago. I take my kids there now and they love it as much as I did. Keep it up, Barros! read more

The owner, George, really knows what great customer service is. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and was asked what my favorite toppings were. He then told me a little about the history of Barro's and how he's been the owner for 37 years and how all of his toppings are fresh. His sausage is apparently rare and only sold at two places in socal..I was sold. He allowed me to get a 1 topping pizza but split it 3 ways so I can try some of his fresh selection of toppings. I got sausage which was super fresh and topped my favorite..Porky's!! You can tell it was fresh and not sitting in the fridge for days. His mushrooms were sliced right before it went onto the pizza and his pepperoni tasted not as salty as other pizza joints and had the perfect blend of spice in it. He was hyping his pizza so much that I was afraid it wouldn't be as good, but wow.. BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD. HANDS DOWN. I am now a regular and will take advantage of his Yelp check-in deal where you can get a large 1 topping pizza for $13.99. His delivery seems a bit expensive, but I'll be carrying out! read more

I just called in to see what specials they offered, I have placed an order before here never had any issues the owner was completely rude and didn't care at all, all I wanted to see what they had, I wanted to do a pick up, if this how he treats his customers who pays for his business then I won't be coming here. I believe in customer services because customer service always comes first. 1982 called and they want their pizza parlor back. Seriously! I remember there was a Barro's Pizza in Montebello long before it was changed to Rio's Pizza. My parents and I used to go there a lot because the pizza was great. Last night when my husband and I went to Enchiladas y Tamales Tambien we smelled this amazing pizza smell. We decided to go there today for lunch. We walked in and the place is a dump! We had decided to give it a try and we did. Thank goodness because the pizza is amazing! Just as I remember. The crust is thick and soft. We ordered a large pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza and a 10 pc. order of wings. The pizza came out and you couldn't even see the cheese there was such a plethora of toppings. We savored our pizza while drinking down a pitcher of Bud Light. We got so full with the pizza that while our wings were being cooked we told them to just put them in a to-go container. He brings them out after a few minutes and we open them and these suckers are HUGE! I'm gauging about 75% the size of a regular drumstick. We walked out very stuffed and very happy with the food. In the time that we ate there no one else sat down to eat, but about 6 people came to pick up. We will definitely go back and just pick up the pizza. The decor was a bit depressing and definitely needs to be updated. read more

I have heard a lot of good things about this place and I decided to go way out of my way to give it a try. It is descent pizza, but as the two star rating suggests, "Meh. I've experienced better." The much better are two pizza places in Orange County...Angelo and Vinci's (in Fullerton) and Giovanni's Pizza (also in Fullerton). Try those places and then try Barro's Pizza and you will know that they are better than Barro's! read more

Called in an order for a pizza. The person that answered (male voice, no ID) was asked how much for delivery, and he answered: "Starts at $8, and goes up from there, depending on where you live." Our reply was ok, we'd like to place an order for pick up please. He took our order. Then, we asked if they use pickled or fresh jalapeños. His rude reply was: "We get them from a can. It's not like we grow them out back...". Really? We wrote it off to a poor one-off and placed our order. Then he says, "You called just in time (6:25pm), we close at 7. Your order will be ready at 7. So, we drive to Barro's, arriving at 6:55pm. where we're told: "...it'll be another 20 minutes - at least, do you want to wait?" We ask if it's in the oven yet & he says: "Not yet, do you want to wait? We walked out. If this is the typical service & replies, I'll suggest to those that I know and care about to STAY AWAY. When I was growing up there was a Barros Pizza near where I lived and I grew up eating their pizza. Back then there were lots of locations for Barros pizza. When I became and adult and moved away the Barros pizza place that was near where I grew up closed. As the decades passed and I didn't see any of their locations at all, I thought that they went out of business, until I found that the only remaining Barros pizza exists in Whittier. I went there today and bought a pepperoni pizza and it tasted just like it did when I was a kid. I was a big fan of their fluffy crust pizza as a kid and I'm glad that I can still have it all these years later. read more

I really liked the owner. It seemed like they could have had somebody who took phone orders and somebody who helped customers who were front and center- It took awhile to get counter service. The pizza here was good but it looked like they used sliced cheese on the cheese only part of our pizza- so when the kids tooka bite it all slid off- a bit of an issue for the youngsters. Hands down best pizza in a 20 mile radio is of Whittier. This place has been here since the early 80s. Super delicious crust, fresh toppings, they do not hold back! My boyfriend introduced me to this pizza spot a few years ago. And have been coming at least every other week since then. Tonight I ordered over the phone a large pizza, when I went to pick up the order the owner brought out my pizza and noticed it was a medium not a large. He immediately went back to the back and started yelling and even cussing at his workers! He came back and said "I'll have to make you another one" no sorry or apology for the inconvenience. I just took the medium. No discount or anything for the screw up! What offended me even more then his lack of customer service skills was the way he cussed his employees out. I felt bad for them no one deserves to be talked to like that for a mistake... I will definitely not be spending any more of my money here. read more
