I ordered an Americano, it was not as hot as I believe it should've been. I thought I'd try something different and ordered the lavender waffle which came with lavender butter and lavender syrup, topped with chicken sausage. The sausage was good, the waffle was nothing special, lavender butter was just OK and the syrup-I'm not sure what it was made out out of, but it didn't have a lot of flavor. I like that they give the option to have coffee served in a mug still as I have gone to several that only serve in paper cups, like The Palm Coffee Bar on Magnolia. Although, their coffee mugs are on the smaller side because they are thick and taper to the bottom. I work down the street and just discovered this gem of a restaurant! Last Friday was my first time, I had the Rancho burger with a side of garlic parm fries. I ordered for a lunch time pick-up. The order was ready on time, it was hot and it was delicious!! Did, I mention it was only $12.99? In this day and age, that's a great price for wonderful food. My friend and co-worker ordered the veggie burger and she was equally impressed. She also had a smoothie and I had a frappe. Both drinks were great. We returned today for the Tuesday special, which is their breakfast burrito for $7!!! Is this place great or what? 7 dollars and it was delicious!! My co-worker cannot have dairy or bacon. In light of this, she requested in the special request box online if they could please sub avocado instead of these items without charging extra for the avocado. They honored this request and that was very nice of them. They didn't have to and some places wouldn't have done so. Great customer service. This place is definitely a gem and we will be back soon. I googled "breakfast diners in Burbank" and the it was between here and Red Maple Cafe for my 25th birthday breakfast yesterday and I made the right choice! Cheesy but I had a gut feeling to choose this place. Right when you enter, you order at the cashier and then they give you a number where they will walk the food to your table once it's ready. If you order pastries, they give it to you at the register. We ordered 3 (forgot to take a pic before devouring) so she offered if we wanted it in a to-go box or on plates which the box was perfect. If you are a newbie like us, there's physical menus you can read to the side while others order if you don't know what you want. There's seating outside on wooden benches or inside on tables with chairs or a cozy section with couches. I have been craving pancakes and these pancakes with butter and fruit hit the spot with syrup. My mom got the spicy waffle chicken sandwich and it wasn't that spicy which she liked so if you have a high tolerance for spice, you might want to add spicy sauce. It comes with syrup and we ordered ranch as well. The breakfast burrito (eggs, bacon, hash browns, cheese, tomato salsa) was HEAVEN. The tomato salsa is a nice refreshing touch. Dipped in ranch and ketchup was even more amazing. Pastries were pretty good! Nothing too spectacular but the cinnamon bun was the standout. Would try new ones next time. The service is nice and kinda quick. Depends if you know what you're ordering and how many items. They did forget to charge our coffee but they don't make you wait the line and charge you on a different register for fast service. Overall, the food is delicious, the environment is calming, and on a Friday morning at around 9:30am, there was a line but then it died down. A nice gem I discovered in Burbank. When it comes to trying new food and especially if it's a special occasion, the prices aren't a focus but this meal was in the $60-$70 range for those curious. My friend and I went here to catch up and have brunch. The breakfast looked great but the burger caught my eye for sure. I wasn't disappointed they also were able to trade in the fries for hash browns. I also got the horchata latte which was a nice mix of espresso and horchata flavor. Perfect sweetness! Besides the food I think it seemed like we went at a peak time as it was very busy and no where to sit inside or outside. We settled sitting by the bar area until something opened up. We had ordered delivery from here for the first time. Two Explorer Plates and a tri tip salad. The sides dishes we ordered were great with huge portions, but the meats were a different story. I ordered tri tip and brisket. My daughter had the pulled pork and a hot link. The brisket should de labled burnt as that's what it was. A pile of shredded meat with no fat or moisture and black ends. The tri tip was overcooked and very dry , no flavor I'm not sure if the meat was fresh or reheated because of the quality. The containers weren't even on tight and could have spilled during delivery. Would I order from them again probably not unless the quality improves. read more

The charcoal latte was AMAZING! My lavender waffle was the saddest breakfast I had ever had. The 4 little waffles looked like/tasted like previously frozen waffles, they were cold, the turkey sausage was cut in baby pieces and placed all over the top of the cold waffles, the "lavender" butter (tasted like fruit butter) was not good and the syrup was conventional syrup when the menu said lavender syrup. Well, we decided to try Basecamp dinette, the ambiance is nice with an outdoorsy feel, there are no waitresses so you order and pay at the cashier. Okay, in the hour or so, I never saw anybody cleaning and disinfecting the tables, customers mainly bused their own tables. I called before going to see if they had country fries or just hash browns and the guy said both, I asked him if they grill them or deep fry them, he said grilled. Hummm....... the probably frozen cubed potatoes looked deep fried!!!! Okay, I was disappointed and they were not hot. Eggs were poached, everything else was good, but if you don't get the potatoes right in a breakfast, it is so so. They stopped brewing coffee at 2pm. They were nice to give us an Americano. Was looking for a new breakfast spot to check out on a Sunday morning and OMG am I SO happy we discovered Basecamp! Walking into the cafe, I was smiling from ear to ear. I am a big camper, so the camping/outdoorsy theme was really hitting the spot for me. The little details here are what really make the ambiance very special and inviting. There are two large outdoor patios for seating and lots of space between parties. The patio we sat on was overlooking the street corner and it was covered in the most beautiful green vines with bursting purple flowers. This particular Sunday morning was very lively, but we didn't have to wait in line to order. The cashier at the front was very helpful in answering my questions about their most popular dishes and coffee. They have their own brew! It has a lovely natural sweet taste to it, and I drank it black. Loved the flavor! We ended up ordering a breakfast burrito and the chilaquiles with avocado added. They give you a number and you find your own seat. We sat all the way at the very last table at the corner of the furthest patio. I was expecting us to wait a long time for our food to come out because I wasn't sure how they would even find us. Turns out, our patio had its own designated busboy and even a water station so you didn't have to walk all the way back to the front counter. Even though the restaurant was bumpin', it still felt like we had our own little private area to enjoy a quiet and chill breakfast. SO much to say about the vibe here, but now for the food! The breakfast burrito was massive! My husband was able to swap the regular bacon for the turkey bacon which was a nice option. My chilaquiles were great! I LOVED the salsa that was on the plate. The chips were in the perfect crunchy/mushy zone for typical chilaquiles. It was served with a side of black beans and two over easy (or your style of choice) eggs. Delicious! It was a fantastic breakfast start to finish. This may seem silly, but you have to check out the bathrooms when you are here! The food however is way overpriced and not great. I'm an easy boring breakfast food, eggs and bacon kinda guy...but I've been here twice this last week and it's to bland, especially at $22. I can make it better at home and will. Again, I go here when the occasional friend or date suggests it at convenience. Today, the staff wasn't pleasant to me or my friend. Finally got the chance to dine here after several years! Basecamp was as cozy and awesome of an experience as I had imagined. I only got to stop here for coffee a couple of years ago, but this time I got to try their breakfast/brunch. First off, I love how spacious the whole area is. It is never difficult to find seating, and the tables are spread comfortably apart. There are indoor as well as outdoor seats. You order at the counter, they give you a number, and then they'll bring the food out to you. Coffees they will call your name to the counter. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a granola parfait. The quantity was pretty generous, and came out really fast! The lady at the counter was also soooo friendly and sweet - just made my morning so much brighter. The parking lot for Basecamp is really small, but there are so many residential street parking spots that it's not a problem at all. This place is absolutely perfect for catching up with friends. The pace and ambience is comfortable, laid back, and the food menu is vast enough to satisfy anyone's taste buds. My friend and I chatted here for 4 hrs on a Saturday afternoon, because it was that welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place to just about anyone! read more

Super cute diner! This place has a lovely theme to it where the decorations involve a lot of the outdoors and nature. It is very put together. Dining is super casual where you order your food first and receive a number. And then to find a place to sit, there's so many different options. You could be sitting on a couch or the bar area or the traditional tables and chairs. This place does provide a lot of outdoor seating with tents above, so you'll stay dry even if it rains. The food was great! Decent portion size for the price. The quality of food was pretty standard for a restaurant. The smoothies were a bit on the smaller end for size, but delicious! Service was great as everyone is super friendly. I really did enjoy the atmosphere of this place. Definitely recommend coming here! read more

Great little place for brunch. Have been here 2-3 times for brunch. It's in a nice little area by Griffith Park and the Los Angeles Equestrian center, so there's a lot of park area nearby and regular horse-sightings. I usually come with my partner and dog and we walk so he's good and tired by the time we arrive. There used to be both indoor and outdoor dining but they've expanded the outdoor dining with a few more semi-closed canopy areas. Now you just go up to the register, order, and seat yourself. We ordered avocado toast, the two egg plate, and mimosas. They don't have a liquor license so they can't sell hard liquor such as that found in Bloody Mary's, but the mimosas are good, though a bit light on the champagne (aren't they all though?) Good energy, good food, good music, good space, and good vibes all round. Great for pets and children/strollers as there's a lot of casual picnic bench/tables around, and a popular stop for bicycle riders. I only wish they brought back some version of an Eggs Benedict, but the two egg plate was fine. read more

The staff is friendly, but they need to pay more attention to when their customer is ordering to make sure they get it down correctly. Both times they messed up my order of pancakes. I ordered the 3 buttermilk pancakes and got the fresh berries added (for an additional charge which is totally acceptable). When they brought my plate of food the first time, it was ONE pancake plain. No berries. I had to ask them to fix it for me. Once the correct order arrived to my table, it was perfect and delicious. No complaints! Until I realized I had no silverware and had to wait another few mins for it. By then.. my scrambled egg was cold. But I ate it anyway because I didn't want to bother them again. Second time, I ordered the 3 pancakes again with the berries, but this time I asked for an extra plate so I'm able to share with my aunt. When it arrived to my table.. I only got TWO pancakes???? And no extra plate. So I had to go up to the employee and ask them to bring me the third pancake. The employee told me "the kitchen gave you two instead of three because they were big pancakes. But I'll have them make you another one since you paid for them you're going to get it." And honestly, the size shouldn't matter. The menu says THREE pancakes. So three pancakes should've been served. It took them 10+ mins to bring me the third pancake and an extra plate. By that time, my aunt had already finished half her food. Very disappointing that this happened twice. However, the pancakes are delicious and I recommend. Hopefully they get your order right the first time. I ordered the mimosa flight and an iced lavender latte with oat milk. Mimosa flight comes with 3 flavors: orange, mango, and guava. All really delicious and pretty strong! The ambience here is really unique for a brunch spot - we sat at a picnic table outside that definitely had a pub vibe to it but was loaded with plant life that gave it a distinctly Burbank feel. I had a croissant breakfast sandwich with eggs, turkey sausage and a good bit of tapatio alongside a green salad with loads of finely shredded carrots and a tasty balsamic vinaigrette. (In lieu of a salad there were also crispy breakfast potatoes or melon available as side options but I was really into the brunch vibe of a salad with a breakfast sandwich) One of the people in our party ordered the english muffin sandwich and was surprised to learn that it came with two english muffins. The melon looked fresh and ripe and the potatoes were pretty standard crispy fried cubes. The croissant was very light and flaky in contrast to the dense meat and egg. The portions are big and hearty across the board! If youre looking to enjoy the outdoors while having a nice weekday brunch, this is a great spot! My partner and I walk past it often on Riverside Dr. We went about a year ago and the food was not great. It was kinda pricey for what I got. I decided to go back today with my partner. It wasn't busy at all. Ordered a breakfast burrito and a Beyond Sausage BBQ sandwich. It took 30 minutes for our food to arrive while others who came after us...got their food at the same time. Our food came out cold which tells me it was sitting in the kitchen for awhile. We sent it back and they said they'd remake it. That also took too long so I decided to get a refund on my sandwich. The counter person couldn't do it. There was no management on the premises until the next day and I didn't want to come back. I ended up getting a gift card for the price of my sandwich...which I will give away to someone else.... NOTE TO THE OWNER/MANAGER: Having been to your establishment twice, the food needs improvement...it's just not very good. My BBQ sandwich didn't come with the BBQ on the Beyond Sausage, it was on the side in a little plastic container....terrible presentation. Please have your staff bring out food in a timely manner before it gets cold. I just can't recommend this to anyone. read more

Love coming here for their burgers from the BBQ joint next door. Their French fries are so good and are essentially steak fries but thinner so they get a little crispy around the edges and come with a bbq sauce/spicy ketchup type of sauce which is excellent. I like that this gives almost like a cafe vibe but they're open later than most and offer not only cafe drinks, but also several options of local craft beers and wines. I've come here at night for dinner with a friend and on a weekend morning for breakfast and both energies are enjoyable.
