Vanessa is here today Friday, May 1st... I came in with my three boys (11,8,4) for an ice cream treat after a morning at the park. Boy did she change our good cheer for a cool treat! Such poor service and right down poor. When I suggested my 11 year old order for himself, she chose not to move from her station so she can hear what he was saying, but rather make him repeat himself. My 4 year old was whiny and try to get my attention because I had to repeat to her my other son's order. Then she proceeds to say "one at a time" to my kids, when only one was talking to her in the first place. Vanessa proceeded to say she can combine two flavors in a kids scoop but she'll charge me for a double because "I don't make the rules" To make things worse, while I was playing. she slides my 4 year olds ice cream cup on the counter at him. Just so rude! It was the most unpleasant experience because she was rude and non accommodating! I only walked in here because of its proximity to dry creek park, but next time it'll be worth driving to better ice cream shops and leave this one to its doom. read more

First of all--it's rarely busy. But seriously, the minute you walk in, the employees are already greeting you with a smile like they've been waiting just for you. I love that! They're always quick to ask if you'd like to try a sample or need help finding a flavor. It's little things like that that make you feel welcome. Now let's talk about the ice cream. MELT. I always buy my ice cream from here and it's always fresh and delicious. Today we grabbed our two forever-favorites: Cookies 'n Cream (because who doesn't love cookie chunks in creamy heaven?) and Pralines 'n Cream, which is honestly criminally underrated. As far as the ice cream, they usually have the flavor of the month. Since there aren't too many Baskin-Robbins in the Clovis Area, this is my preferred on. This location has plenty of parking spaces. Nostalgia, and variety. That is the reason for the second star. This experience floored me, as I have been a customer for decades with this company. Came here on a weekday during the day. There were no other customers, and we had to wait quite awhile before anyone came out to take our order, though we were told the worker would be out in a minute. Single scoops, over four bucks, and they are honestly crazy small. Mind you, it is the shape of a scoop, but tiny. Prices increased, and sizes decreased. I asked what the difference between the kids scoop and the single was, because I still feel we were given a kids' scoop. Getting ice cream out is always a treat for the family, but when you can buy a half gallon at a grocery store for the same price as frankly, 3/4 a full sized scoop worth...its really sad. This company was phenomenal as a kid, into my teens, adulthood...but now to bring a family, it is just not something to even look forward to. And the best part, the banana royale did not have a single slice of banana. That's right, no bananas in the banana royale. How do you mess that up? At least it had two scoops of ice cream and was in a two scoop cup, so they got that right. I'm not sure if they are incompetent or if they did it to save money, but it's one or the other. Customer service is terrible. I ordered 2 scoops of ice cream and was greeted with a horrible attitude from the female employee who sighed and rolled her eyes at the two items I ordered . When I told her it was to go, she walked off and left my ice cream at the opposite end of the counter and then proceeded to grab a lid for the cup and threw it on the counter in front of me and told me I can put the lid on myself. I asked another employee if I could speak with the supervisor, she told me there was no supervisor on the premises. Been going to this BR for years since I live around the corner and go quit often. Since the new staff, all these young girls there have no customer service or people skills. They are rude, never smile and sometimes will wait to help the customer. I asked for a chocolate waffle cone there was none which is now becoming more often where there are no waffle cones. I've gone to Baskin-Robbins for cakes plenty of times in the past on days I needed them and ask for a customized "Happy ## birthday" and each time it's normally well written on a white choc strip placed on top. I asked the girls (Annie and Kaylee I believe?) and they said they've never heard of that??? They asked someone in the back and then said it takes awhile to freeze the strips but they were never trained on it? Then they said the girl who likely made my past choc strips left and kept repeating that they were new to justify why they couldn't write it. Shouldn't all employees be trained? I wasn't happy with the fact they weren't willing to help me aside from hinting to me basically to find another cake with more space to write on it if I wanted the full "Happy 82nd Grandma" to be written. Not even like mini chocolates or anything else to place on top on the cake I wanted. Just an FYI for the future. It was national ice cream day when we stopped by for $1.50 a scoop! It was really, really busy and the employees were helpful and moving things along. I need to stop coming here. I live nearby so I bring my kids here often, especially for celebrations and special events. The girls that were working today (6/11/17 around 4pm) are so unhappy and unfriendly that it impacts the entire environment of what a Baskin Robbins should be. Kids and even some adults come here for the joy and happiness this place usually exudes. However for some reason the employees here negate that feeling. You almost feel unwelcome. The ice cream itself is amazing of course, but if I can go 1 block away to Coldstones and be greeted with smiles and feel as if I'm welcome, I'll do just that. The final straw was when I tried to use a $4 coupon and she didn't even read it but told me "it's only valid on Tuesdays." I actually just laughed out loud and continued ordering our ice cream. I wast going to make a fuss in front of other customers over $4. It just showed me the type of people this franchisee employs. The fine print only states "valid until 7/13/17." Where in Gods name did her Tuesday excuse come from? I have no idea. If your idea of going to get ice cream usually involves happiness, fun, and excitement....GOOD LUCK AT THIS PLACE! read more

Flithy! The plexiglass separating the ice cream from the customers was so smudged from hand prints I couldn't see the ice cream clearly. The other side of the window had old ice cream drips, etc. I don't know the last time it was cleaned. I also pointed out to one of the employee's that the intake duct's grill, at the bottom of the ice cream case was covered in dust to the point when it may cause the engine to overheat (and) potentially ruin the compressor. This was met with a blank stare. It also looks very dirty to customers waiting in line to get ice cream. In addition, the pole on the floor for kids to stand on was dirty, also covered with old ice cream drips. I have been a long time customer of this location, but not sure I want to come back unless it's cleaned. The health inspector needs to stop by here. read more

First of all let me say I love BR Ice cream. It's a shame that this place is so poorly run. First of all I am a regular. I come all the time (1-2x's in the summer). I have never been greated with a smile by the employees. They are always in the back looking through their two way glass until people come in. As soon as they serve you they go back to the back. Kid you not this happens ever time I've been there without fail. They hardly speak to you and make you feel as if everything you ask for is physically hurting them. I could understand the employees not being out in the shop if the dinning area was clean... but it never is. I hope the owners or people who work here read this. Not to be rude, but you guys need to seriously step up the customer service! People don't have to come to you for ice cream. You are not doing people a favor by just being there and handing them the ice cream that they want. You are providing a service. Maybe the owners can bring in a professional trainer to teach the employees some basic customer service activities. 1. Always have someone in the front of the shop, period. 2. Greet every customer with a smile and welcome message. Example: "Hello I'm Lori, welcome to Baskins Robins. Let me know what I can get for you today." "Can I offer you a sample of something?" 3. Take ownership of your shop, keep it clean 4. Offer samples if people are looking 5. If a family has kids, give them a sticker or baloon. 6. Talk to people about their day, make good conversation 7. When people ask for something say my pleasure (And mean it) These are just a few examples of simple things, that if done well, will turn your shop around completely, but you have to buy into it. If you don't want to serve people then get out of the customer service industry. It's as simple as that. If you don't make it a good experience people will stop coming.
