This certainly isn't the fault of this location, but the prices are a little too high for a scoop, considering you could go right over to the grocery next door to get a good deal on ice cream. When I came in the late afternoon the store was busy and there was only one person working. Although there were only two people in front of me in line, service was slow--partially because another customer had a very complicated order. Since it was the 31st we went here to get a discount scoop. There was a large selection of ice cream flavors available at this location, more than the Mission Viejo branch. There were 2-3 people in front of me and it went quickly. The transaction was processed properly and oddly enough they didn't charge sales tax for it. There was no restroom. I typically try to stay away from desserts and sweets however I've been craving mint and chip ice cream for weeks. Decided to go to baskin with another couple after dinner (my idea). We had two different servers, my friend and fiancé proceeded their order and I did with our server. Asked for double scoop mint and chip sundae... they were out of mint and chip!!! Finally I decided on something else although nothing would meet my craving. When we got our orders my friends sundae was beautiful. Overflowing with enormous scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, a mountain of whip cream and nuts. Got my order... you could barely see the ice cream scoops under the dismal amount of whip cream . Just went to the Baskin Robbins in Aliso Viejo for a Cappuccino Blast. While I was waiting, another employee was making chocolate dipped waffle cones with sprinkles on the counter. I was disgusted to see her using her bare hands. She scooped the sprinkles with her bare hands while holding the cone to coat the top. Shouldn't she be wearing gloves? She has acrylic nails which harbor bacteria and then using them to touch sprinkles that people will put in their mouth! I am in health care so I would never do that! This was my second time that I ordered ice cream cakes from this location and will be my last. For my Christmas party, I ordered the cake online through their gallery and chose a polar bear cake to fit my party theme. To my surprise, the polar bear cake looked so ugly with its giant eyes. I told the staff that I was not happy with the cake and they told me that I could pick another cake to substitute. Other cakes did not match my party theme. They ended up refunded partial money even though it was their fault for making the eyes so big and ugly. For my daughter's birthday, she really wanted a unicorn ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. I decided to give this location a second chance. I went to the store and ordered the unicorn cake. I showed the baker the double tier cake picture that I saw on their online gallery. I told them that my daughter wanted blue, pink and purple for the frosting. On the day of the party, my dad picked up the cake for me so I didn't see it at the store. When it was time to cut the cake, I opened it for the first time and was so shocked on how it looked like. It didn't even look like the picture from their online gallery. I was so embarrassed that my guests had to see the cake. The guests didn't even know it was supposed to look like a unicorn. How disappointing was that. The only thing that we like is the ice cream. I personally love baskin robins and I grew up eating it. I used to love this place, so my boyfriend and I decided to go recently. Unfortunately, this visit was not reminiscent of those times.. First off, the lady who helped us was rude and looked very unhappy to be there. I felt like I was burdening her to scoop my ice cream. After we paid for our ice cream, we sat and ate it and it tasted great. What made my appetite disappear was that I saw that same lady go into the back and grab Purelle spray along with a rag and start cleaning stuff and once a customer walked in, she dropped both and walked over to scoop them ice cream with dirty hands. This is a smaller than average location and it can get pretty busy. I went there to grab a cake, had to wait 20 minutes to have somebody help me purchase the one that was already in the cabinet I had called in the morning to see if they could hold one for me and I was assured that they would have the right flavor and color that I asked for. Although it s in a pretty happening shopping center which is convenient, this particular location is not good because: * Not too friendly * .90 cents PER topping (are you kidding me=ripoff!) * $10 minimum for credit cards!!! No wonder there is always a "Help Wanted" sign on the window. Based on my experience I'm assuming the owner is a cheapskate and doesn't treat his employees right if he/she can't even treat the customers right. How could they impose such higher per topping charges than other locations? And also impose a $10 minimum on credit cards=wow! How often are orders over $10? Save your money and go over to Yogurtland 3 miles down the road on Alicia Parkway in Laguna Hills= much better, friendly, and way more affordable. read more

This is the worse experience I've ever had when ordering a cake for my daughter. I pre-ordered a cake online for my daughter's birthday. It was a photo cake. I sent my husband to pick up the order as I was away with my daughter having a mommy and me date. He only knew he was supposed to pick up a cake, but didn't know what cake. My husband relays to me later that when he arrived at the store, they did not have an order under my name. So they asked if there were any other names that it could possibly be under. He listed his name and my daughter's name. They came out with a cake and handed it to him. He brings it home and places it in the freezer. I come home and to my dismay it was NOT the cake I ordered. Instead of receiving the photo cake in which I paid extra for to include the photo, they handed my husband a cookie cake that isn't even the flavor of ice cream that we eat. Also we were wanting chocolate cake not a cookie. I call the store and the person on the phone has to speak with his supervisor as they can't locate the cake. He then says the supervisor says he can only give us a refund once we bring the cake back. They would not offer anything else other than they can make our cake tomorrow. Um my daughter's birthday is today and we were minutes away from singing happy birthday ! Their solution to the problem to me for one is ridiculous as they didn't even make my ordered cake and gave me someone else's cake. I wonder what they will say to the person that lost their cake? And two, it is so UNSANITARY- were they planning to resell the cake after I had already brought it home?! They should've at least offer a partial or even a full refund for their mistake as I couldn't leave my house to bring the cake back as we were just about to sing happy birthday. Cruised in here on a warm spring day after some grocery shopping. The young man working the counter greeted me and advised me that, if I wanted to try any of the ice cream flavors, he'd be happy to provide them. The problem is that I don't get ice cream often so the names of the flavors baffle me. I normally default to chocolate chip, but I resolved to try something different today. I was certain I'd want something chocolate, but when I got to the lemon custard, I was smitten. The server promptly scooped a scoop, snapped on a lid, and I was ready to go. We chatted amiably--joking about it's close proximity to Jenny Craig--as I paid my bill. A couple of downsides to the store. It's in an older shopping center so it could use a facelift. Overpriced and the teens that worked there aren't always accurate. I was charged for a cone that they clearly advertised was free with a certain purchase and the kids that worked there (though, otherwise charming) first denied it was free and then said "it is only a dollar." There prices are about 25% higher than other local baskin Robbins. I wouldn't mind the higher price of there services was good. They have to adjust for that Laguna Niguel lease. Another day, I was carded. I don't know what that was all about since I have never experienced that at any other BR visit there and any other places. I wish I was a secret shopper at those 2 visits. Staff weren't too attentive, but that didn't bother me much since they looked like they barely turned 16. I ordered a brownie sundae but I was super let down when I paid for a brownie and two skimmed off shells of ice cream. I've loved Baskin Robbins since I was a kid, what a disappointment. I live 2 miles away and by the time I got home, I had a bowl of soup. :( I also was not offered a top for my Togo bowl and ended up leaving shortly after because neither employee seemed to want to ask what else I needed and why I was still standing at the register trying to get someone's attention. I hope this is just the location I went to and not all basin Robbins. It'll be a long while till I try basin Robbins again, definitely never again at this location. read more

I ordered a cupcake ice cream cake with white cake and Jamoca ice cream for my daughters birthday! I went to pick it up and not only was her name spelled incorrectly but the cake was chocolate. I didn't know that until later that evening and we had cut into it. I was mortified!! She is only 12! A Letter to Baskin Robbins Corporate: We are frequent customers of BR, usually in San Juan Capistrano or San Clemente. Today, my wife and 9 year-old daughter visited the Laguna Hills store while out shopping. The threatening and verbal abuse treatment they received from one of your employees is worthy of litigation, if I were a litigious individual. After serving my daughter a cone, the young man at the cash register was unfamiliar with the procedure of processing a credit card for payment. He asked another employee, a stocky female with short dark hair, what to do. This woman had been engaged in conversation with another female who did not appear to be an employee. She was visibly upset at her conversation being interrupted. "We don't take credit cards for anything under $10", she yelled across the store. We routinely have used credit cards at Baskin Robbins locations for a variety of purchases and have never been told that. There was also no sign present informing customers of that policy. When my wife tried to point this out, this employee became belligerent and said, "It's been that way here for ten years and that's the way it is!" After looking through her purse for some cash and paying, my wife tried to explain there should be some king of posted notice. To tell a customer of such a policy after the product has been served and the customer is already eating it is not acceptable. The employee became enraged, was actually physically shaking. My wife asked her why she was getting so upset. "I am in a rage!", she yelled. The whole scene was surreal. My wife asked her why she was being so rude to a customer and asked for the name of the store manager. The employee tossed a piece of paper at my wife and told her to write her complaint down and she would give it to the manager. She also refused to divulge her name. My daughter was very upset by all of this. As they were leaving, the employee then yelled after them, saying that my wife was permanently banned from the store. Again my wife asked why she was getting so upset, to which the employee yelled that she was going to call the police and actually tried to take my family's photo with her cellphone camera. The other woman, the non-employee your worker had been talking to when all of this began, then also became verbally abusive and threatened to call the police. When my daughter, realizing she had not taken a napkin, tried to turn towards the counter, your employee blocked her way. Your employee is very fortunate I was not there, because I would have called police and pressed assault charges. We will never visit this store again and I am going to post this note on various social networking sites, like Yelp, etc... Disgusting behavior. read more

I gave this place a one-star rating for one reason: Every once in awhile, my wife and I will stop at the closest Baskin-Robbins to our home and buy prepacked quarts of the two flavors we like best. The regular price is $13 and change, but they have had a long running special of charging $10.99 for two pre-packed quarts. One evening last week, I happened to be passing by the B-R on LaPaz and decided to stop and purchase the same two prepacked quarts we always buy at our neighborhood B-R. The girl rang up a price of, I believe, $15.76 or $15.77. I asked if they had a bargain price, and she had never heard of any. So I left the two quarts there and stopped on the way home at the B-R we where we usually do business to see if the special price had ended. It had not. I bought the same two quarts the girl in the LaPaz store wanted charge me almost $16 for and was charged only $10.99 in Laguna Hills, which answered my question about whether the special had ended. But I asked anyway, and the young man at my local B-R had never heard of his customers being charged almost $5.00 more for the same two quarts that were being sold in his store for $10.99. He mentioned that the owner of the store where he worked also owned two other local B-R stores but did not own the one on LaPaz. What bothered me most about this scenario was that, aside from the special, the owner of the LaPaz store was still charging his customers $2.00 more than the regular price of two pre-packed quarts at other B-Rs. In my book, that qualifies as a ripoff. In other words, for an additional 5 or 10 cents worth of gas, a customer can buy ice cream at several other local B-R outlets for 1/3 less than they would be charged at the LaPaz B-R. As I often write, ''greed can be a terrible thing.'' read more

I'm a fan of Baskin Robbins, however the recent price hike and product received for the price has totally turned me off. $6.19 for a two scoop sundae and the two scoops are actually one scoop in a child's cup. Are you kidding? Buyer beware - you will not find value here. I work two jobs, 7 days a week and I can tell you that I will no longer spend what little money I have on that, especially after a 20 mile round trip. Even Gelson's sells BR cheaper than that. read more

This ice cream shop has the worst service I have ever experienced. The gentleman and the lady that worked the shift were completely worthless. Thomas and Amy could not have made it more obvious that we were not welcome. I told them that we were not going to stay because I did not want to be a burden but what really made me angry was when they gave me the smallest scoop for the cups I ordered. Rather than give me a little more they showed me the scoopers that were for each size. WTF? My cups were 2/3 full with a whole third of the cup of the bottom completely empty. I have grown up with Baskin Robbins and LOVE it! I can't say how many cakes I have ordered from them and must go at least 3 times per week with the family. BUT so over this location. I have ordered three cakes over the last year or so and EVERYTIME they don't do what we request. We ask for a lot of flowers they put one, we ask for a specific color they do something else...it is just beyond me! So I would think twice before ordering a cake from this location. read more

Maybe because this is aliso viejo and some of you would like to pay more for ice cream cause you have the money to splurge. But have you looked at those prices. Every other BR that I have came across in north Orange County, or San Diego don't even have those prices. So one star for the prices.
