We had a new shower by Bathfitter installed in one of our bathrooms today. The lead installer, Diego, and his team did a "beyond expectations" installation and we are thrilled. The new shower replaced a bathtub and shower which we felt was too dangerous for us stepping in and out of the showet. Diego called both days to let us know when he would be at our home. He laid out material to cover our floors while the team was working. And he removed the covering material from the floors when he left last night. The space was sparkling. We were amazed at the quality of the work. We are now discussing the installation of a new shower in another bathroom, largely due to being able to get on Diego's schedule again. Thank you, Diego. We have been a Bathfitter customer customer for many years. So we can also vouch for the company. They live up to their warranty service and are run by wonderful people. I hired bathfitters, because I wanted my 2 bathrooms done in my condo, but didn't want my neighbors complaining about noise for weeks on end. I read mixed reviews about putting a new liner over the old tub, so I asked them to replace my old stainless steel tub. I was wondering how one person can remove a stainless steel tub all by himself, but he did it really quickly! They don't just cover up water damage if there is any. They remove the bottom tiles first, then remove more rows if there is anymore water damage. If the whole drywall and studs have to be replaced, they send you the contact info of someone who can do that. For me, someone came in the very next day. Also, the water only had to be shut off for around 1.5 hours per bathroom. So, it wasn't even too bad! Since my floor was completely unlevel, the piping in my building is weird, the water-shutoff in my building was complicated, and the drywall and studs were completely rotten under the window, it still only took 2-2.5days per bathroom to finish. This is a long overdue thank you and gratitude post for Casey/KC (sp?). Casey is the only Bathfitter employee who was able to locate and repair the leak coming from the improper installation of our Bathfitter. Which was leaking on and off for several years and had to be replaced twice! We only knew of the leak because it's in our upstairs bathroom and was leaking through the ceiling into our downstairs bathroom. If this was on the ground floor it would have leaked for years without our knowledge. I wonder how many other Bathfitters out there are leaking like ours was. Anyway, countless employees came to make repairs that couldn't solve the issue. They applied different color caulking which looked terrible. (Clear and cream layers). At one point we had to hire a plumber to prove the leak was not coming from our toilet because that's what one Bathfitter employee told us. Then Casey came and saw that it was an easy fix. He fixed it in a few minutes! He also saw what I saw - the tub was visibly not level and was unfinished appearing. He was able to recommend we replace the Bathfitter. We asked for him to be our installer this time. Third time is the charm! It's finally done right. With finished edges, leveled tub, no leaking, and beautiful attention to detail. I can finally say I am happy with the job. One more thing. On the original job, we paid for the expensive glass door which was always a problem. Casey left it off because they had to special order a new one exactly like it which they don't use anymore because clearly it has issues. We decided to keep it off due to not wanting any more problems. I feel like we should have received our money back for that. In conclusion, after everything we went through, we would not recommend Bathfitter. But we are extremely grateful for Casey who was able to finally make it right for us. If it wasn't for Casey I don't know what we would have done. It was a scary ordeal and we are thankful it's behind us. Of note, there were multiple managerial changes and staff turnover during the time we had our Bathfitter issues. We hope the Newark office has finally stabilized and is back on track. EDIT to add: We also want to recognize the scheduler Chris who replaced the previous scheduler. Chris has excellent customer service skills. He is very kind and polite. I am very pleased with the installation of a new shower replacing a tub. Given my MS, it was very difficult for me to lift my leg up the 15 inches needed to get into a tub. I also found myself falling in the tub twice because of its slipperiness. So the shower that Ahmed installed expertly in two days was a perfect solution in terms of mobility issues, and it also looks extremely nice (see photos). My one addition has been to order two metal hooks which can be seen in the photo on the left, for my bathmat and for my shower brush. I learned the hard way that the plastic clip keeping the two doors sliding properly on the bottom in the middle is vulnerable if the doors are accidentally bumped. Will never go with Bath Fitter again. Should be called time wasters. Signed contract way back in Dec 2023. Called one time about measurements not being correct and they had to re-order tub. So then rescheduled install for April 5, 2024 between 8 am to 10 am. Then around 830 am They call me to let me know they cannot shut off the water at the street. I had re-confirmed the appointment on April 3, 2024 and nothing was voiced about water shut off? Even the salesperson took pictures of water shut off outside my house and never said anything. Took entire day off work and they tell me about this 90 minutes before they are suppose to arrive. Should be called Time Wasters. read more

The previous owner said it has a lifetime warranty, which is worthless if they refuse to help. I just had my tub done by Bathfitter and I'm already budgeting for my second bathroom because I'm so happy. For me, great customer service really shines through when something goes wrong and that's where Bathfitter really won me over. The finish on my tub was defective and it wasn't apparent until the tub was brought into the bathroom (this is not something anyone could have noticed ahead of time). Alice is literally an angel. She and Derek worked all day to find a replacement tub in AZ (I'm in the Bay) and one of their top notch employees drove all day and night TO ARIZONA to pick it up himself so I could have a bath ASAP. Then on top of everything else they sent Charlie to finish the install and he was a complete PRO! I was able to go about a fairly chaotic workday completely undisturbed while he worked into the evening, cutting NO corners. He was extremely friendly, polite, and professional. The biggest thing I want people to take away from this review is things happen when you are dealing with construction of any kind. However, most companies wipe their hands and play the blame game while the customer suffers. Not Bathfitter. This company MAKES IT RIGHT and then some. That means more to me than anything and not only will I be using them again, I will be recommending them to everyone I know. It has been 2 months since the initial posting. Issues have been investigated but no resolution provided. Initial response was to schedule an appointment for reviewing poor installation. That appointment that I took time off work for was rescheduled 1 hour prior, requested by bath fitters. Taking a second time off work, they did show up and review everything saying they would get back with me. I have left 4 messages asking for follow up but no return phone call. read more

This was an absolutely Great experience from start to finish! We are extremely happy with the new bathtub, it looks so beautiful and has all the features that we wanted. Our installer Bryce was great, he explained everything to us, he worked very efficiently, took extra care not to track anything into the house, and had great customer service skills. Bryce answered my many questions, reviewed each step with us, and went over everything at the end. It was great that he was able to complete all of the work in just one day and he cleaned up everything on his way out. He made us feel like valued customers and he did quality work. Made an appointment for an estimate for 11:30am on Saturday. Their rep called at 11:45 and said they'd be a half hour late. The rep called again at 12:30 and said they could not find a parking place. At 1pm, after 1 1/2 hours of standing around in an empty apartment waiting for them, I called them back and they claimed they still could not find a parking place. I canceled the appointment. Bath Fitter had to issue me a refund because they provided such bad service. The refund was supposed to be processed on 4/8, but they didn't do it until 4/12 because they don't care. They sent another refund through the next morning. Since they refunded me twice, Bath Fitter had to charge me to make up for the second refund. Unfortunately, they didn't tell me this and the refunds weren't appearing on my card yet. I was suddenly charged $1,500 from Bath Fitter without explanation. This is the third time in two weeks Bath Fitter charged my credit card without telling me. The Newark team has gone out of their way to make my experience worse. This appears to be intentional at this point. Alice, the branch manager, didn't even call me herself, she had her administrative team do it. She never followed up on this matter. At no point during this process did Alice show any humility, sympathy or anything remotely resembling customer service. Alice made it very obvious that she didn't care. My husband and I signed a contract with Bath Fitters 2 months ago and has been radio silence. This project is the final step in getting our property ready to rent, and now we are stuck without rental income putting us in a squeeze financially. There have been multiple messages left. We contacted Jim Mobius, who we signed the contract with, and while he responded quickly, his advice was to "keep calling." The manager spoke to the contractor who fixed the problem and she told him that she wanted my installation to be finalized Friday, which was last week. I've been trying to contact them for 3 days. if I could put a negative review I would. They rescheduled three times and I told them it was crucial for us to have it done before our guests came in for the holidays. They sowed up the same day as our guests, made a huge mess, fiberglass everywhere! They were here from 9am to 9:30pm! When the tech said he was finished, he started sweeping my carpet with a hand/shop brush! I asked him if he had cleaning supplies, and he relpied "NO, they don't give us very much stuff to clean up." :( Sheetrock dust and fiberglass everywhere! Construction glue splattered on the floor, broken shower head, loose shower curtain rod (No structural attchment made). And to top it all off, my wife took the first shower and...... you guessed it. THE WATER DOES NOT DRAIN!!! Day beofre Thanksgiving and more guests arriving tonight!!!! NOOOOOO! Bathfitters have totally let me down. A person came home for free consultation and to show the material, her name is Stacey, she took wrong measurements for bathroom and didn't show us any samples. I wish I can give her less than one star. The day installer came to install there were issues because of her wrong measurements, she didn't pick up my phone or didn't reply back for the calls or the email. But Charlie who installed the shower he is really good at his job. I like the bath fitter material it's been a year still looks new and easy to clean. Wasted our time. Called and scheduled a consultation for my Sonoma County home. I was told my husband and I both needed to be present for the consultation. Our appointment was at 4 pm on a Wednesday afternoon which forced my husband to have to leave work 2 hours early to attend the meeting. By 4:45 pm we had received no communication and no one had shown up. I called to enquire and was told oh oops that should have been rescheduled because they couldn't make it in time of which she stated she was notified of the evening before. Mind you my appointment had been confirmed the previous day via phone at about 1 pm and then I heard nothing. They had ALL day Wednesday to notify me that they were unable to make the scheduled appointment - instead, they neglected to do so and wasted our time. Then had the nerve to ask me to reschedule. I met with several companies for a bathroom renovation needed for my son who has a physical disability. His bathtub with shower needed to be converted to a more accessible walk in shower. I chose Bath Fitter above the other companies because Shams, the Bath Fitter Project Consultant, was very knowledgeable, professional and considered carefully what was needed for our special situation. He was available throughout the project and a rare professional who really cares about his clients and that they are happy with the outcome of their investment. The other person I want to acknowledge is Casey who installed the shower. He worked very hard to finish the install in one day. He was highly skilled with all aspects of this project, attending to every detail so the end result was both functional and beautiful. There were some scheduling changes that made it necessary to push up our scheduled date and time, but I still feel strongly about giving 5 stars because of these 2 professionals. read more

Just a FYI to all who plan to use Bathfitters. Here is my experience. I hired them due to quick install, which i needed or my elderly parents (going from tub to shower for safety purposes). It took 8 months to get the material in. They never call me when it was in, it was only when i called them, after a long wait, that they told me, oh the material is here would you like to schedule your install, yeah no shit right. They cancelled their own install, they didn't even show up, it was only after i called them again wondering where the crew was at that I found out one of their guys was sick. Short story, this happened again and again with Bathfitters, absolutely crappy customer service and communication. You have to be your own advocate with these people. They tried to point the finger at me and others and i called them on their bullshit, literally, and boy did they change their attitude with me but by this point the experience was ruined. I just so happened to have been in the plan phase of a remodel at my residence and I plan to just go with a general contractor to redo my two bathrooms. I figure easier control, less time, literally and i get so many more choices to go with for really only $2k more. I recommendation is to stay away from Bathfitters unless there is something they can only provide. BTW their reschedule went thru XMas break so i have company for a week who could not shower and this was of no concern to Bathfitters. Stay away from them. read more

I live in a 1000 sq ft condo and I have a fiberglass tub now and wanted to see how much BathFitters would be and they wanted $6000+ just to redo my bathroom with a new tub and walls and a one shelf and that's it. That is ridiculously high and now I am debating on just refinishing my fiberglass tub instead. I will say that they did meet me on my schedule and that the presentation in my house was very professional and the employee was very nice. Bottom line, it's just too expensive for a little condo and I cannot spend that much on this remodel project. 1 star for working on my schedule and 1 star for a good presentation but bath fitters is still too expensive. UPDATE: Bath Fitters called me to ask me to raise the rating level on this review so I give them credit for asking and being bold enough to call and ask for a rating increase. Either way you should shop around and consider all options before going with this company or any company. I believe that if I would've done work with this company that I probably would've be satisfied. read more

I wouldn't give these fools one star if I didn't have to but I have to. So we bought two of these.. one for my mom and one for us. Upon signing and paying we scheduled the appointments. They cancelled and rescheduled my moms and twice they cancelled and rescheduled us. The work on my moms house when they showed up was fine and complete. Nice guys. Our house... well... it was a Friday and these dudes come 3 hours away so guess what? Party time and they don't want to be in traffic so they worked 3 hours and one of them supposedly got food poisoning so they BOTH left. Funny because they were playing music as loud as they could in my driveway laughing and working. I didn't mind the music as I thought they would work more efficiently. Nope. I even have camera footage of them and no signs of food poisoning. No vomit in my toilet and no sign of crap. So one of them comes back on Monday to complete the job and now it is complete. I'm the meantime I've left a comment on their FB page expressing my frustration and BF says to reach out to them privately and I said they should be reaching out to me. So, they did. I asked that the one thing that could make it right is to call my husband to apologize (I can't even believe I had to say this as a good business would have done this already). This phone call would take all of one minute to make but as you now have guessed this hasn't happened. This company doesn't give one rats butt about you once they've got your money. And it's evident in the reviews why this company sucks. Do yourself a favor... go to a small business to do your work. That's where the integrity is. You might pay more but you are keeping someone in business who works hard and has a good work ethic. One week after the install, we already had a problem cleaning. As we understood, we should use only products listed on their list. We tried almost every product on the list and nothing worked. So we called to ask what was going on. We received the answer that the products on the list will clean it very well. So we went and bought every other product on the list to no avail. Call back and the lady said, sometimes there is a residue on the product from new. To remove the deposit fill the bath tub with hot water and vinegar. After this, you should have no problem cleaning. We did this and to our amazement it cleaned the tub. One week later, again, we cannot clean this thing and we are getting pretty mad. So back I go to hot water and vinegar. But still the dirt keep piling up and no cleaner is helping. So we call for someone to come and help with our problem. It took 4 months to get a person out to our home to help us. When he gets here, he inspects the problem and said that it is neglect that has ruined the bathtub. So I tell him our story. Telling him we tried every product and nothing worked. We have been waiting for someone to come and help us. But it took 4 months to get him to come to our house, still trying to clean as much as we could. He refuses to listen and repeats his evaluation, that we have ruined the bath room due to neglect. I repeat the problem and he will not change his mind that we ruined it because we did not clean it. How can he be that stupid to not understand what has happened??? He gave us a product to clean the dirt and it worked. But we are still in the same situation. This product is uncleanable with the product list given. Never again, will I buy one of these pieces of _ _ _ _. Don't bother. read more
